Quick to reload: The compressed air canister and dart magazine are created for very easy reloading, making it quick and seamless.
Variety: The sheer variety of darts someone can use in it is overwhelming, along with the types of poisons or explosives placed inside of the darts. It gives a lot of variety for a wide range of situations.
Small Effective range: While the dart launcher can fire a dart to nearly one hundred meters, in reality its effective range, where it can accurately hit, and unload its payload with the most effectiveness is a mere fifteen meters. Outside that range, it is very much reliant on luck.
Armor: Due to the air fired nature of the dart, it simply lacks the penetrating power needed to get through medium and heavy armor. Even it's explosive darts just do not carry enough explosive to make a large enough dent. It has to find targets in light/no armor, or be lucky enough to hit exposed points.
Heavy Winds: Heavy winds, or force pushes, can cause the dart to lose its trajectory, and miss its mark altogether.
Not as fast: While quick and quiet, the dart simply does not move as fast as a blaster bolt.
The dart launcher is a tried and true device.
