RACE NARRATION​

"Some big leads starting to show now!"

"Yeeeeeah, the pack is gonna be left behind, if they don't start shootin'!"

"We've tried to tell them, they aren't listening! Now back to the action..."

Narration notes:

• 72 hour round timer begins
• Dani Stellaris and Saraiya Darkstar both use their 1 time use ability
• Candu Tabuu misses Dani Stellaris - out of range (14 spaces)
• Artas Tel Alam hits Saraiya Darkstar for 5 dmg; new armor value = 30
• Hex hits Joseph Torson for 5 dmg; new armor value = 30
• Joseph Torson hits Hex for 5 dmg; new armor value = 30

That was good. She thought that one shot was coming right for her, but it seemed the Force, and luck had a bit different in mind for her. That and this Mynock swoop was very fast. Zipping ahead of her competitors, she knew that holding the lead was hard, and most likely only temporary, but it was a good feeling.

Dani knew better than to watch behind her, but she also knew that this swoop wasn't doing as well as it could and that was going to spell doom for her one of these turns. But it was a marathon, not a sprint. As long as she could keep ahead, and keep dodging? That was all she really needed.

A momentary victory was just a way to take a deep breath

 

[Corbin Vasher]

SPECTATOR

Thus far, Corbin had largely been extremely underwhelmed by the race. Hilal Vizsla had started out brilliantly with a burst of speed, but it had made her a target for a particularly trigger happy Candu Tabuu. Those shots, and the subsequent dodges, caused her to quickly lose her lead. On top of that, it seemed the majority of the speeders were either broken-down pieces of junk or sabotaged in some way. The Vizsla girl had apparently got frustrated (or maybe just bored) and simply stopped in the middle of the race and left. Corbin shook his head. He couldn't really blame her. He'd expected more. He was sure all the racers probably had. He got up to leave, he'd really only come to meet a fellow Mandalorian after all. Then, some of the speeders actually started working properly, and more of the racers started opening fire. Maybe the race actually would get more interesting. He decided to go down and say hello to Hilal before she left and then come back and watch the rest of the race. Hopefully it would get more exciting. Especially with there being Darksiders present.

Ta’ena’s head whipped around when she heard Saraiya Darkstar and Dani Stellaris swoops roar behind her. Both moved at a tremendous pace for a short time. There was more fighting going on behind the Twi’lek, but she wasn’t concerned about that. She was concerned that the burst of momentum carried Dani in front of Ta’ena and into first place. She looked back at the other group and grumbled. Some of them were falling behind enough now that they wouldn’t be able to do Ta’ena’s dirty work for her.

As Ta’ena thought of pulling out her blaster and attacking Dani, she decided to put the pedal to the metal so to speak and try to get out of range of the trailing competitors as well. Taking Dani out of the race did no good if that just made her a target.

He hit her, she hit him, but she was losing too much speed to do this so she needed to GO! She opened the throttle answer hit the afterburner for some extra speed.

As soon as his shots hit his foe’s swoop bike, Torson’s swoop bike was in turn damaged from the attack from his opponent. However, right as he was to fire another volley of shots at his foe, they activated their speed boost, allowing them to accelerate far ahead of Torson.

Regardless of this boost, the young racer was still determined to get the best of them and thus once his foe had begun to slow down once they had used up their speed boost, Torson fired yet another set of shots at the target. The Sooner they were dealt with, the better as he could not afford to remain far behind in fourth place.

Sara held on to that damn swoop for dear life, as both the lightsaber caused it's damage regardless, but the swoop decided it finally wanted to work as intended. It was an odd combo of sparks and flames as she took off like a guided missle, heading into the slight curve ahead of them. Yes, them. It seemed as if she had caught up to both Hex and Joseph Torson. Fine by her. As the wind blew past at incredible speeds, she glanced over to her left, then her right.

"Feth it. No looking back now..." she muttered to herself.

Reaching back, she pulled out her blaster, the Lotus Blossom. Custom job, but always by her side. As she cranked back on the throttle once more, she swung her other arm over and let off a shot or three at Torson 's reactor-core housing. Might not take first, but fething sure was gonna podium, bet your sweet karking backside on it!

 

[Artas Tel Alam]

He scored a decent hit, which was pleasing. What was less pleasing was that he seemed not to have hit something important. Or maybe he had hit something important in just the right way. His quarry rocketed ahead of him like a missile. Gone and out of range, along with the majority of the rest of the race.

If Artas Tel Alam did not have such impeccable dental hygiene, his teeth would have cracked from the weight of the scowl he wore. This was not how it was supposed to be. Perhaps there was someone else he could take his frustrations out on.

Ah, here came one now. An unsightly gremlin. Miniscule. Hacking its speeder in half would not bring him honor or victory.

But it would improve his mood.

His speeder swung towards Canduu's and - once again - he swung his lightsaber in a downward arc, attempting to shear off the back half of his foe's speeder.

Keep flying. That was all she had to do, keep flying. And keep her speed up.

Dani wasn't even going to fire backwards. As she was moving ahead, she just wanted to keep the Mynock alive.

He was still attacking her? Well her bike wouldn't survive this long race but she would make sure his bike didn't either so as her afterburner flared out, Hex twisted round and opened up at the man firing at her.

“Chit! Dumb blonde schutta!” Ta’ena yelled out. Mostly to herself, but she was quite upset that Dani Stellaris was increasing her lead. And that Hex was gaining from behind. The only good thing Ta’ena could think at the moment was that her boring swoop was much more durable than those of her closest competitors. She reached to her blaster again and fired at the leader of the race. She was the only one that could slow Dani down. And that seemed to be Ta’ena’s best course of action at the moment.

The pureblood's mood was souring. Someone would be heading going home on a stretcher.

And it wouldn't be him.

Again he comes up alongside Candu and again he lashes out with his lightsaber.

Torson cursed, as the same racer whom he successfully hit fired a few rounds back at him. For a while now, both him and that other racer were essentially in a firefight seeking to sabotage one another. She had managed to take the lead ahead of Torson, but from what he could see, it seemed that both of them had taken around the same amount of damage from their confrontation.

For a quick second, Torson thought about firing upon the racer, but choose not to instead moving forth to avoid the incoming blaster fire to the best of his ability. The sooner he dodged the incoming shots, the better as it would enable him to strike back and hopefully succeed at further dealing damage to his foe where she had failed.

"Oh, feth it. It's not like anything else has been working, so why not..."

The fuchsia haired Coruscanti cursed under her breath as both Hex and that Twi'lek zoomed past her, and Joseph Torson was about even. She cranked back on the throttle, trying to get whatever she could out of the mechanical and electrical nightmare of a swoopbike, disgusted at herself by this point. She should have tinkered with this thing before the race, but no, her own bravado got the best of her. Again. Aunty Esty always told her 'not to count her jawas before they'd gotten back to the crawler', But oh no... just had to be full of yourself again, huh Sarai?

Frowning, she simply pointed her blaster pistol forward, and let off a few high-powered bolts toward the Twi'lek, Ta'ena Zollo. Didn't really have much to lose at this point, so now she was essentially playing whack-a-womprat but with blasters. Fun.
