T2 Dom of Dahomey and Kinyen

46d957507216f1d4ee1626f109d73002.png

Dahomey; a wild arid planet full of deserts and flat subsaharran plains. It was the first planet that came under the purview of Omega Pyre years ago. At that time it had been subjugated by warlords and Bando Gora Reavers, liberated by the OP liberation force lead by Siobhan Kerrigan and Tegaea Alcori. The planet became a Firemane stronghold, investing heavily in Dahomey's rich resources with mining and training the local militia.

Over time, Dahomey became a refuge for Zonyu V refugees, with its largest city, Abomey, maintaining about a million people. The Netherworld event and the fall of the Protectorate changed that, disrupting the local order. Warlords exploiting the population as well as slavers have overrun the planet. A message sent to Firemane Industries as well as to the Galactic Alliance requests for aid, prompting a dispatch of diplomats as well as reinforcements to aid in regaining order.

Among the recesses of the wilds, the wild animals of Dahomey seem to be stirring in ways that are found to be unusual. Could this be due to the Warlords, or something far more sinister? Tempest.

Objectives:

1. Aggressive Negotiations: The endemic warlordism of sub-Saharan Africa is prevalent here, especially since the fall of OP. Warlords exploiting the population and slavers preying on them is what the Galactic Alliance and allies will aid the locals to bring to a halt.

2. Into the Wild: A Dark Side Force User manipulating the wild animals of Dahomey to try and achieve their ends. They would be opposed to ‘invaders’ no matter which stripe they wear. Please tag Tempesthttp://starwarsrp.net/user/969-tempest/ for full details.

3. The Peaceful stuff: The planet itself is pretty much as the planet sub. It’s a planet of considerable untapped potential. There’s precious ores to be mined and natural beauty to be admired. There’s also a still sub-galactic technological population too who could use a hand.

4. Bring your own Objective.

K I N Y E N

Kinyen is a world of differing climates, with large and rolling grasslands, a dense and beautiful forest, and one of the longest and clearest rivers in the Bes Ber Bikade sector. The beauty of this planet, which boasted almost no natural predators, helped the Gran develop strong bonds of home and family in their race. With such close bonds formed throughout the Gran community, it was not surprising that they concentrated their cities into very small areas, so they were never out of touch with their many relatives.

Alliance friendly, the Gran are setting in place a small festival to encourage relations. Those who desire to attend may do so freely, while continuing talks of resources and securing the local sector continue.

Objectives:

1. The Peaceful Stuff: A vital world along the Corellian Trade Spine, the Galactic Alliance is tasked to scout and open up negotiations with the local Gran community. A small festival is taking place is open to all who desire to join.

2. Trade: Open up trade centers for Alliance friendly companies.

3. Rogue Squadron: Will be scouting the local sector and coming into contact with potential troubles...

4. Bring your own Objective.

All are welcome to join, as Galactic Alliance threads are always open to the public. We are aiming for a T2, but if the story ends up going beyond 110 and past 150, we will be happy with the hex as well!

Please enjoy yourselves and have fun! Any questions, please do not hesitate to contact GA Faction Staff.

Thank you for the tag. :)

Dahomey is vaguely inspired by certain RL African countries and rich in resources, especially gold and diamonds. As Adele said, it was one of Omega Pyre's first conquests. Think it was the first actually, since we got it before Vandelhelm.

Basically it was oppressed by slavers and warlords before an OP liberation force led by Siobhan and Tegaea toppled them. Think the warlord was a Republic officer gone rogue (shout-out to Kurtz!). Omega Pyre/Protectorate developed the planet during their time as a sovereign power, which was continued by Firemane after it was founded. After Zonyu V was wrecked by devastating earthquakes during OP's dom, refugees from the planet were housed on Dahomey.

Firemane invested heavily in mining, training the militia etc. Sio's apprentice, [member="Tempest"], is a Dahomian, and several other Firemane employees are from the planet. The largest city, Abomey, has about a million people.

I guess it's safe to say that the Netherworld incident disrupted the local order on the planet. There's also lots of fun wild life there, if anyone wants to go on a safari. :D

As this character is a Dahomian native, I would love to have her return home. The planet has a lot of potential for stories, and I’d love to join in if you’ll have me. :)

The planet itself is pretty much as the planet sub. It’s a planet of considerable untapped potential. There’s precious ores to be mined and natural beauty to be admired. There’s also a still sub-galactic technological population too who could use a hand.
That’s the peaceful stuff.

For more aggressive things there’s a couple of options.
First, the endemic warlordism of sub-Saharan Africa is prevalent here, especially since the fall of OP. Warlords exploiting the population and slavers preying on them is a pretty consistent story and something I know GA would like to stop.
Second, I had an idea for a Dark Side Force User manipulating the wild animals of Dahomey to try and achieve their ends. They would be opposed to ‘invaders’ no matter which stripe they wear. Could be a fun enemy too.

If anyone has any questions or requests please ask me! It’s a pretty open sandbox though with only a few hard and fast rules.

When is this planned to go up? After the invasion & Malastare or in August, just like the T3 of Copperline?

The Army of Malastare may have lost more than half its men on Coruscant but are the warlords of Dahomey inclined to use minefields?

As for how the Army of Malastare is made up after it replenished troops from Coruscant: less Gungans, more Jawas, Dugs...

I'm quite certain they would be. They're the type to lay mines and not care about collateral damage.
Thank you.

The reason why I was asking is that the presence of absence of minefields affected how I would approach this dominion: with minefields this means the Army of Malastare is to deploy in full, without minefields, Ugohr would have done something that would not require the Army of Malastare to deploy at all. You see, the Army of Malastare comprises the only minesweeping unit in the Alliance and is deployed only when minefields are suspected.

I thought I'd let you know that I don't get any of your tags in the dominion. I mean, you don't really interact with me directly so it's not a huge problem, but maybe you should know of that.
