Taking Stock (Dust meets Lady Kay)

*A conflict of interest? Perhaps her boss knew of his involvement with One Sith, but that in and of itself doesn't wouldn't affect any business Dust wouldn't think.*

Dust: "Our largest customers generally come in the form of mercenary groups and Private Military organizations. Beyond that we don't have the production capability to supply anything larger than that. I will mention that we do not have preferred or barred trade as a company, we deal neutrally with all parties, though I must say we have a lot of business coming from the Red Ravens as their citizens are more often than not members of mercenary corps or other armed professions."

Kay smiled a little and nodded. "A lot of our mining operations are on Mandalorian worlds and they are very....picky with who they deal with and give their materials to. My boss is Mandalore as well, which is what gives us the access. Even our Chief Engineer and I are restricted on those worlds, as we are not a part of their clans."

She tapped onto her datapad, doing a quick bit of research. "What type of alloy do you need?" Her boss had told her to be cautious, but her first instinct told her that he was sincere. Of course she had been wrong before as no one is perfect, but that never deterred her from finding the best in people.

*Dust knew that Phrik and other such alloys were essential for creating the highest tier of personal use weapons and armor due to their lightsaber resistant properties. That could be important for attracting more high-end customers who appreciate not only the quality of construction, but also of materials.*

Dust: "My primary concern is being able to offer lightsaber resistant armor. Phrik or beskar would be essential to catering to the most famous armed professionals in the galaxy. These high impact individual contracts for weapons and armor would certainly allow Limited Armaments to expand its influence and grow as a company. That would also help Rodia, as 30% of our employment comes from Jado's own charity hire program to provide jobs and temporary living for the most oppressed young denizens of Rodia no matter the species."

*Dust felt that bringing up the positive influence Limited Armaments brings to the community would help her to make a decision favoring Dust and his company. A power play which used a relatable truth to appeal to Lady Kay on a personal level.*

Kay liked the serving the community angle. He was right to go down that route. But only temporary housing and such didn't seem like enough. It was time for a compromise and that was what she tended to do best.

"Phrik is very popular right now, and with more mines opening up for it, there's a bigger supply to go around. But of course my boss and the Mandalore worry about it getting into the wrong hands. So here is what I propose....I will supply you with some Phrik to help you in creating a better suit of armour, but I must insist that I get some control as to who that armour goes to. My boss would not approve of us supplying his enemies, such as the One Sith. Doing so would limit all of our supplies and close down our mines and factories on their worlds. A lot of good people would be out of work."

She placed her datapad down and folded her hands on the desk. "Are we in agreement?"

*Dust could certainly compromise; however, there are as always two sides to a compromise.*

Dust: "My only problem is that I can't control where a PMC might send their troops. Doing that could then reasonably limit my capability to have the Phrik as anything more than a really expensive paperweight, so the say you have would have to be limited to screening potential buyers. I can promise no sales to direct affiliates of One Sith, but if it comes down to a neutral mercenary for hire I can't turn them down just because they might at some point get hired by One Sith. Would that definition still fit within what you were wanting?"

There were two sides to a compromise, but in this case there was just one, as Dust's offer was the exact one that she was hoping for.

"Yes, that is all that I ask. I know that it's tough to keep such things out of the wrong hands when all that our enemies need to do is kill someone wearing the armour and then steal it. But we can try our best to avoid them from getting the armour in the easiest way possible."

She picked up her datapad and modified a standard agreement to add in the contingencies that they both touched on. Once it was ready, she signed it and then handed him the datapad to look over and sign. "I'm sure that if things go smoothly, your supply of materials could increase."

*The best compromise was one that was perfect for both sides interests. This seemed to be exactly such a compromise. Dust looked over the details of the data pad agreement and upon seeing it was as agreed upon he signed the contract.*

Dust: "I have every intent for it to run smoothly."

*Dust handed the data pad back. The meeting had gone off without a hitch and only time would tell the effects of what had transpired this day.*

Lady Kay smiled and took the datapad, slipping it back into her satchel.

"I look forward to seeing what you you come up with. But in the meantime, are there others that you plan on meeting with? Or do you have some spare time?" She just had to ask about her son, especially since Dust looked around the same age.

"Wonderful." She folded her hands on top of the desk and shifted a little in her seat, wondering what the best approach was in asking. But then she figured that she was thinking too hard, so instead she just started talking to see what would come out. "I have an adopted son that's around your age. He's got dark brown hair, green eyes, probably tall. I last saw him on Coruscant just over five years ago. He took off on me after his father died. I was wondering if you might of seen him or heard word of him. His name is Bradshaw and it wouldn't surprise me if he was hanging around with Dark Jedi or the Sith."

*Dust thought about his time with Raien Keth. Hadn't he met a Bradshaw while training with a member of One Sith? Yes! He remembered someone by that description, though he went by Brad. It had to be the same person.*

Dust: "I... I believe I have met him. Sort of loosely acquainted myself with him once a couple months ago."

Her eyes widened as she sat up straighter, full of hope. "You've met him? How was he? Did he look okay? Was he healthy? Did he seem angry? Did he mention either of his parents or his sister at all? How tall was he? You'll have to tell me everything!" And there went her professional demeanour as those questions were spoken lightning quick. But she couldn't help it as she had gotten so excited and maybe being able to find one of her children. Dust was lucky that there was a desk in between them, or she would've grabbed him and held him while she belted out all of those questions.

*So many questions all at once. It was like he was speaking to another person from the composed woman he met a short time ago.*

Dust: *A touch overwhelmed* "Last I saw him he was hanging out with One Sith. Nothing too involved, but he did seem a bit angry about something though he would never specify anything."

Kay leaned back in the chair again. Well, some info was better than no info at all. But the One Sith? She hardly knew much about them, only that they were not to do business with them. It was an easy guess that it was comprised of many Darksiders, but not all Darksiders were bad.

"Thank you...Sorry about that. It won't happen again. I've heard so very little about the One Sith. Are they really and truly evil?"

*Are they evil? A question that was somewhat unexpected as most people would immediately assume yes. In his time with One Sith he had met interesting people both polite and even kind, and bone chillingly sadistic. He preferred to remain minimally involved with such people.*

Dust: "Don't worry about it. It was just unexpected. And to answer your question: yes. I would consider One Sith evil. Don't get me wrong in that not all people who associate themselves with One Sith are purely and truly evil, but the organization as a whole is very much hell bent on domination from everything I have seen of them. They are a place where the most bloodthirsty and sadistic scum go to play with life like it's a rag doll meant to be brutally torn. Some join for more noble purposes but evil there seems to be the norm."

Kay nodded as she listened to his description. If her husband was still alive, he might have joined them if only to keep them under control so that they don't put the Galaxy into utter chaos.

"I have had very little run ins with Force users in the past number of years. My fear is that things will get so bad that we'll have another Order 66 on our hands, especially with so many organizations requiring lightsaber resistant armour. It's almost as though everyone is preparing for a huge war. But then I could be just reading into things a little too much."

Dust: "The One Sith invaded Telti not long ago. A huge war is already happening. To be frank, the entire galaxy is in chaos right now. I doubt an order 66 would come through, if I know history right that took an empire spanning the galaxy to accomplish. Power is split too evenly for a massacre like that. Of course these are only opinions."

*Dust was glad the subject shifted from her son. He felt uncomfortable about telling her that he was in One Sith. It seemed like she wouldn't like One Sith much and Dust thought it had to be disappointing knowing her son fell in with that crowd.*

She needed to know more, just in case she ran into them. She needed a better sense of who they are and what they represent.

"Why did they invade? Just to dominate the planet? Did they succeed? Who are their leaders? I haven't seen the Galaxy in utter chaos just yet, but maybe I haven't been looking hard enough."

It was hard to see the state of the Galaxy when she had spent the past five years avoiding everyone.

*Suddenly it was like he was talking to a really bad detective. He didn't much care if she knew everything but the questions on top of questions were spat out like, well, a worried mother asking about her kid.*

Dust: "I don't know why, but they were successful from everything I've heard and seen."

She nodded. He must have been there. Maybe he took part? It was hard to say. But his demeanour changed slightly as she had pressed the issue further. So Kay decided to change the subject a bit.

"Sorry. I can be such a worry wart at times. I used to be carefree when I was your age, and got married not long after that. Is there a special lady for you out there?"
