Teaching is Mutual

Kay didn't open her eyes or stop concentrating until [member="Tugoro Taidarious"] spoke. It was tough but she managed. Of course she wouldn't be able to hold back a Sith Lord for long, but it was a start and something that she'll need a lot of practice on to perfect.

She relaxed her stance, leaning back on one of her hands that she placed on the floor. "I'll need to learn how to build a lightsaber. The one I had was made by my husband. But it was stolen from a bounty hunter that caught me and he destroyed it. I figured making my own would be best. I have more protection from hunters now."

She gave him a small smile. "Of course I don't expect to do that today. What about you? Did you need to learn anything? I know how to heal as my late husband fought in a lot of battles. I also know how to shrink my Force signature, so that it can't be so easily detected." That was what Ferus had taught her. Though no one else knew that and she didn't use the Darkside to achieve it either.

Tugoro listened to [member="Lady Kay"] intently, surprised by what she had to say. The young man wondered what she had been involved in, to have bounty hunters come after her. He remembered being hunted by an entire faction as a youth, albeit a small one but a faction nonetheless. Bounties were another matter though, and could easily pose more threat depending in the situation. Reaching down to his belt, the Jedi would pull a spare saber hilt from its strap, outstretching an arm as he offered it to Kay.

"I always carry a spare, if you want it," he spoke, presenting a shoto saber to the woman. He primarily used it when he was forced into Jar'kai, a style he had not utilized in a long time. Perking up as he heard the abilities she had to offer, Tugoro would nod his head eagerly before speaking. "Yes, I would like to learn those abilities. I will use them with respect and honour." He promised, in the memory of her late husband, whoever that was.

Kay blinked as he had offered her a saber. She hesitated before reaching out and taking it. The saber was small and lightweight. Perfect for hiding in her satchel. "Thank you. I'll just borrow it, and give it back to you once I have made my own."

She set it down and then sat up straighter, resting her hands on her lap, trying to decide which ability that she should teach [member="Tugoro Taidarious"] first. There were many things in this training room that she could hurt both him and herself with. But it would be better if she was the injured one.

"Wait right here, please." Kay got to her feet and headed over to one of the weapon cabinets. She selected a dagger and brought it back with her, sitting herself down in front of him. "Now I'm going to give myself a little cut and what I'd like you to do is touch the area above the wound with one of your hands. Focus on the Force flowing through us both and then concentrate on the wound itself. Go deep into it at the cellular level. The bleeding will need to be stopped first, so you must locate the broken veins and repair them. Next will be the tissue and nerve endings. Once you get the hang of it after lots of practice, you'll be able to spot them easily. Just focus on repairing layer by layer, from the deepest part of the wound to the skin. It may take a while and that's okay to start with."

She watched him now and instead of going for the meat of the hand like most would do, she went brought a knee up so that her foot was flush to the floor and then brought the sharp edge of the dagger to cut into the skin a few inches above her ankle on the side of her calf. There was less nerve endings there for pain and low risk for bleeding out. A cut there always looked worse than it really was as it never took long for the blood to start flowing. "Give it a try...."

Tugoro smiled as [member="Lady Kay"] took his shoto saber. It's blade was a brilliant pink, his favoured colour considering his first crystal had had a similar hue. "No problem," he replied, nodding to her before watching her walk off and retrieve something. It was a dagger. The young man would adopt an incredulous expression, before he realized what she was doing.

The blade would cut slightly into the woman's lower leg, causing a decent amount of blood to quickly flow from the small wound. Kneeling down and closing his eyes, Tugoro would allow his force energy to flow through him, drawing on the power around him as well as he concentrated intently. Clasping his hands together, the Jedi would remain silent for a moment as he focused his power, causing it to surge through his being and gather within his hands.

"Let's see," he spoke mostly to himself, remembering what she had told him. Placing his hands over the cut, Tugoro would delve into it with his force power, letting it project through his palms calmly and into her flesh. It was his medium, a ticket into the cellular levels of the wound that Kay had inflicted upon herself. With a bit of concentration and imagination, the severed veins and what little nerves were present began to repair themselves, regenerating and forcing themselves back into place. At the same time, the tissue would regenerate and seal as well.

After a minute or so, the wound stopped bleeding completely, allowing Tugoro to stand back up to his full height. "Wow!" He exclaimed with excitement. He had attended healing lessons before on his journeys and within the old temple, though he had never successfully used it to such a degree. "Thank you very much," The young Jedi spoke, bowing to the woman humbly. "This knowledge will be useful. I appreciate your time." He spoke, still interested in learning but too modest to pry. Such stealth techniques were unusual for Jedi to possess, but he couldn't help but seeing the value behind them.

Kay had hardly ever had any others use Force healing skills on her. Most of the time she was the one doing the healing. And most of the time she was being protected by others. She flexed her leg muscles after he was finished and smiled. "Well done."

Silence for a moment as she had thought back to what Ferus had taught her. "Now for our next trick..." She winked and then got to her feet, folding her hands in front of her. "Now...close your eyes and concentrate. Imagine the Force around you to be a bubble, then slowly shrink it down, see it growing smaller and smaller, shrinking down to your centre. The Force will be absent from you except for in that one spot. It can be difficult to hold for long as it takes a lot of practice and focus. But...it can be very useful when around strangers and those that are wary of Force users."

Many people had a distrust of Force users. There were good reasons behind their fear, the Sith being one of them, yet she had hoped that people would be more understanding and open, instead of painting everyone with the same brush.

[member="Tugoro Taidarious"]

It was true, many people were wary of force users. It had also been a topic brought up in the senate once, Tugoro recalled. There was some sort of stigma around politicians possessing the ability to wield the force, which was understandable. However, on the other hand, what would come of such a barring? Mandatory midichlorian tests? The Jedi imagined families that weren't even aware of their slight force sensitivity, being forced from their life of politic, unable to continue the legacy they had started.

Tugoro didn't know how such things could be regulated effectively, so he tended to stay away from it altogether. Listening to [member="Lady Kay"], the young man would nod, closing his eyes after she was done with her instructions. Tugoro actually had planned to become a Jedi Shadow, under the tutelage of his old friend Kian Karr. However, with the Jedi of his generation seemingly gone, there was little hope for that. He would have to make due with what he had.

Connecting his mind to force within and around him, Tugoro would begin to channel and gather it, drawing it closer to his body as if he were a magnet. Slowly but sure, the force energy that radiated off of his being would begin to suppress itself, shrinking down into one solitary spot. It condensed in the Jedi's very core, a minuscule star shining at the center of his body. It was difficult to hold, but over time he would get used to it.

The light side of the force would begin to shine through once again, flowing through Tugoro as he relaxed. Once again bowing to the woman, the Knight would speak, "Thanks a lot. It's a welcome change from my usual skill set. I hope those abilities serve you well in combat, if you're ever interested in learning more, seek me out."

Kay was quite pleased that [member="Tugoro Taidarious"] was such a quick learner. Perhaps he was thinking the same thing about herself. It was nice to teach what she knew, even if that wasn't much. Hopefully it would always be put to good uses. She wondered if [member="Mantic Dorn"] would approve. But maybe she shouldn't worry too much for it wasn't as though she was teaching anything harmful.

She bowed her head and smiled. "Thank you kindly for your help. I'm sure that what you've taught me will be very useful. I look forward to learning more from you in the future. You are a great teacher."
