..:: The Templar Order ::..
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"The Galaxy is in Chaos, worlds burn as those whom once claimed to stand for Peace fight with those whom demand servitude. Their powers rend worlds asunder and destroy all that had once stood in their wake. People cry out, and we shall answer that call. The Templars shall rise to reclaim a Galaxy destroyed by Force Users. We shall Rebuild."
The Templar Order is a militaristic monastic order dedicated to bringing order and stability to the galaxy, whose members are unified by its belief that all Force Users are dangerous. The Templars view themselves as being the guardians of the galaxy whom must rise to defend those whom can not defend themselves against Force Users. While they seek to bring to heel Force Users, make no mistake; they are an army unto themselves, well equipped and trained.

Established as a means to defend the denizens of the Galaxy from Force Users, they call the planet Feenix their home, having established their own Temple upon the world. The Templar Order is one in which those whom join are sworn to dedicate themselves to ensuring that Order is returned to the Galaxy. Likewise, many whom swear themselves to the Order do so for life, and often surrender all of their wealth, titles and material goods in service of a greater good.

Advancement is thus defined by merit, and the order itself is run as a meritocracy; as it matters not whom one was before they joined the Order or whom their family was. All Brothers and Sisters of the Order are treated the same; thus the order looks down upon ideals such as Humanocentrism or any ideals that would exclude any individual due to species, orientation or creed. The Order is thus meant to stand as a beacon of light and hope for those in a galaxy overrun by Force Users and inept Politicians.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
..:: Templar Code ::..
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Unlike the Jedi Code and the Sith Code; The Templar Code is more akin to a set of rules and beliefs for the Templars than just a series of guidelines and how one should act as seen with the Jedi and Sith Codes. For the Temples, their Code is their law and it governs how they should act both among themselves and with those whom they have sworn to protect.

While the code contains multiple sections, all of which are important, it is the core tenants of the Templar Code, as written in the first series that are the most important. These codes are those that guide the hand of a Templar and carefully lead the Order. All Templars adhere to these basic codes.

  • "There is no Chaos, there is Order."
  • "There are no Jedi, nor are there Sith."
  • "All Force Users are a danger."
  • "We are sworn to protect the galaxy from the dangers of the Force."
  • "Watch for weakness and corruption."
  • "Act without hesitation for the good of all."
  • "Seek out new Force Users so that they may be destroyed."
  • "Pursue those that escape."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
..:: Hierarchy ::..
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Templar Order maintains a strict hierarchy that ensures that all members of the Order are treated equally and that they are capable of executing their duties as cited by the Templar Code. This hierarchy is more inline with the established military rank systems of a standing military and are often reflective of those ranks. Each individual is promoted to their rank and station through merit, with more responsibilities given to those whom prove themselves time and time again.

  • Knight-Vigilant: The de facto leader of the Templar Order, they act as the guiding hand, interpreting the Templar Code with the aid of the Grand Convocation; the governing body of the Order. They serve as a beacon to all Templars and act as a Paragon of the Order, seeking to further its influence and protecting the denizens of the galaxy. While this position is meant to be held for the duration of an individuals life, there are no established rules preventing their abdication or against the Grand Convocation voting for a new member of the order to take up the mantle. - This position is held by an NPC as voted upon 12/14/15

  • Knight-Commander: The highest ranking positions of the Templar Order, these individuals are given the most responsibilities, often leading armies and fleets. Though some Knight-Commanders maintain positions as the heads of Temples or even act in the capacity as a Planetary Governor when needed. While there can be multiple Knight-Commanders, it is only the most senior thirteen whom form the Grand Convocation, the governing body of the order; and from those thirteen they elect the Knight-Vigilant.

  • Knight-Captain: These individuals form the back bone of the militaristic monastic order, as they are those whom often execute the commands of the Knight-Commanders. These individuals are often commanders of vessels or sections of armies when at war, or serving as the heads of smaller temples. In order to be named a Captain, one has to show responsibility, dedication and have proven themselves dedicated unto the Order.

  • Knight-Lieutenant: Serving often as the Lieutenants of Knight-Captains, and acting as their instruments to ensure that their orders are spread, they are proven combat veterans. Many take up various duties, and while not all remain within the main branch of the Order, it is more often the senior Knight-Lieutenants that take up positions in the Armorers, Keepers and even Seekers.

  • Knight-Corporal: A step above the rank and file, the Knight-Corporals are the true back bone of the military might of the Order. All orders filter down to these individuals, and it is they whom take their Templars into the fray. Leading from the front, they ensure that their units are equipped and properly trained, and that their equipment is well kept. Many whom attain this rank push unto higher ranks, while a staunch few remain, desiring nothing more than to forge greatness from the shells of others.

  • Templar: The Rank and file; nothing more than an enlisted trooper. These are those individuals that make up the bulk of the Order. Trained and Equipped, they are sent out to secure the worlds and defend the people of the Galaxy. They swear away all of their titles, wealth and land, and become equal. No matter if a Templar comes from the Core Worlds or the Outer Rim, none is better than another.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
..:: Organizations ::..
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

While the Order itself is the main branch, there are multiple branches that extend from the Order. These organizations act in various capacities and often work to aid and further the power of the Templar Order. Without these organizations, the Order itself would be nothing more than an equipped force without an infrastructure and would be relegated to a single world.

  • Armorers: Their name implies their work, yet it is a work that is looked upon with pride and treated with honor. The Armorers are those whom forge the weapons and armor that the Order is equipped with. Not only that, they are also those whom design and manufacture the vessels and vehicles that further aids the Templar Order is pushing away Chaos and bringing Order back to those worlds it seeks to protect. Many Knight-Lieutenants take up this mantle, and among them is named the Master of the Armory; named by the Grand Convocation, they are the individual whom ensures that all works are beyond acceptable.

  • Keepers: The Galaxy is a dangerous place, filled with countless artifacts and relics created by Force Users. Many of these items are too dangerous to be in the hands of others or left in the galaxy. Thus the Keepers seek out these forgotten or recovered items in a bid to secure them and lock them away. They seek to study them in a safe environment and ensure that they can no longer spread destruction. Those Knight-Lieutenants whom take up this task are vaunted for their selflessness in putting their lives on the line to secure these items. Chief among them, as named by the Grand Convocation, is the Lore Keeper, an experienced individual whom chronicles all of the recovered relics.

  • Seekers: While the Keepers are those whom secure and lock away force relics and artifacts, it is easiest to view the Seekers as what they really are. They are a force within the Templar Order whose sole duty is to fret out any hidden Force Users whom have infiltrated the Order or are hiding upon those worlds within the protection of the Order. They are those whom fight in the shadows against the most dangerous Force Users, and whom hunt them down for the sole purpose of destroying them. From among their ranks is the Lord or Lady Seeker, the sole individual whom leads them and whom is often a Knight-Commander.

  • Hospitallers: There are those organizations whom seek to aid those that have been injured. Many though (like the once fabled Jedi Medical Corps) have fallen to the whims of others, and often turn many away. Thus the Templar Order seeks to right that wrong and to aid those whom have been otherwise forgotten as they languish in pain and suffer from sickness that can easily be healed. War continues to ravish the Galaxy and there are those of the Order whom stand up and declare themselves Hospitaller, healers in their own right. Under the guidance of their Grand Master, the Hospitallers work with the Templar Order to aid those whom have suffered at the hands of Force Users.

  • Progenitors: Those that seek to heal and lend their aid to those that have been injured become Hospitaller. Those that seek to follow into the dark and twisted crafts of the Yuuzhan Vong Shapers, to create twisted beings and living bio weapons follower a darker path among the Progenitors. The Progenitors are those among the Templar Order who follow a different calling, not one of religion; one of science and understanding. They are the individuals that create bio-engineered weapons, living beasts and weapons to aid the Templar Order in their fight against Force Users. Whispers though speak that they take on an almost Demagolesc approach. It is with the guidance of the Precursor that the Progenitors labor under.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
..:: Right of Annulment ::..
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

An important right in its own sake, it is one that while it is part of the order, it is not entirely demanded or enforced for all members to take it; though it does appear as suspect should one not. In terms of what the right it, it is merely an oath taken by the individual in the sense that they annul themselves of all things. Thus the Right of Annulment is a sacred oath that a Templar takes in which they renounce all Titles and Lands that are linked to their name, any Wealth or Power they might have held outside of the Order.

Some whom undergo the Right of Annulment often go one step further, in that they surrender all of their wealth, lands and titles unto the Order themselves to use as they see fit. This though is much rarer and happens far less frequently; as the Order prides itself on close relations with a multitude of families whom hold such influence and power.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
..:: Crusade ::..
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A Crusade is a tool that is used by the Templar Order. Often it is called against those whom prove to be a clear danger to the Galaxy; with the effect being the total subjugation of those whom the crusade has been called upon. This is not as history shows, that being a Crusade to reclaim a holy land or a struggle to do so. This is more of a Total War with the clear goal being to force the enemy to submit.

Such a command however is never taken lightly. The mere thought of such is brought up and voted upon by the Grand Convocation and even then the decision must be unanimous. There can not be a single no vote against the Crusade. Thus they are not often called unless all among the Grand Convocation feel that it is the last course and there are no more actions to be taken.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
..:: Short-Term Goals ::..
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  • Securing the Feenix System.

  • Training and Equipping a large Templar Force.

  • Secure neighboring worlds to expand the Order's influence.

  • Defend the People of the Feenix system and its neighboring worlds.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
..:: Long-Term Goals ::..
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  • The establishment of a neutrally aligned dominion of space dedicated to protecting the denizens of the galaxy from Force Users.

  • The establishment of a repository and securing of dangerous Force Artifacts to prevent their use by Force Users to further sow Chaos among the Galaxy.

  • Bringing Order to the Galaxy.

  • The Destruction of the Jedi Order and Sith Order; as well as any fringe Force User Factions. All Force Users are a Danger.

I've only one question.

Is this like the Templar Order within the CIS way back when? If so, Hi. I'm willing to join.

No it is not. This is strictly a Non-Force User Templar Order.

Any force users involved with the Order would either be locked in the temples, or being hunted.

Think more of the relationship between the Templars and Mages in Dragon Age.

I do hope you join, though as mentioned, this is strictly a Non-Force User Order.

Nyx's alt, reporting for duty.

Quick question: Once taken, do the Force Users have hierarchy of their own? (Teachers, representatives, etc.)

While not shown here, and will likely be added. I was thinking of sticking to the hierarchy as seen in the Tower Circles in Dragon Age. So they would have a hierarchy of their own, though still watched by the Order.

Edited:
I have recently just edited the Faction write up. The Templar Order is now more in line with the simple fact that they view all Force Users as a danger. Thus there has been a shift in thinking, design and function as well as a new long term goal.
The Templar Order is now dedicated to the destruction of the Jedi Order and Sith Order, as well as any fringe Force User Factions. All Force Users are a danger.

I still like this.

Would this order use Force Users as weapons? Similar to circle mages in Dragon Age. They're under constant Templar watch, but are used to fight none the less.

[member="Amelia Sorenn"]

Hmm... what if there were a sect of Force Users under Templar command that acted similarly to psykers in the Imperium of Man? If you are unfamiliar with either term, allow me to explain what each is, if you wish for me to do so.

Shall I explain?

With the additional edits, there will be no Force Users at all within the Order.
Their long term goal is the destruction of the Jedi Order and Sith Order; as well as any Fringe Force User faction.
They would not be using Force Users as weapons or in any form or role.

I shall explain, I feel you must know this!

The Imperium of Man from Warhammer 40k is the main human empire, highly xenophobic and zealotous in their worship of their God-Emperor, who is merely a super-powered human psyker, psykers being people that have access to supernatural/psychic powers via the Warp. The Warp is an alternate dimension, parallel to the Materium, our dimension. It is home to... insanity. Four Dark Gods that wish to destroy everything, called the Forces of Chaos. They have daemons and everything you would expect from evil gods.

Psykers, aka 'witches,' are feared and hated throughout the Imperium, since so many used to exist at a single point in time that, when most of them were suddenly possessed by daemons, humanity nearly went extinct and the Imperium nearly destroyed itself in a massive civil war in the 30th millennium called the Horus Heresy. But, Sanctioned Psykers, who are approved by the Inquisition/Space Marine Chapter Masters, are used in the military forces, while the rest are sacrificed to fuel the Golden Throne, which is the only thing keeping the Emperor alive.

Could Sanctioned Force Wielders exist?

But that's too bad. I feel it would have been... interesting. But meh, you're call.

[member="Amelia Sorenn"]

After thinking on it, I feel that due in part to all of the other Force based factions and factions that are permeated with Force Users, that it is time for a fully Non-Force Users Only faction.
It would be an interesting idea if it weren't for factions that have Force Users that serve a similar role in some regards.
[member="Tracinya be Gra'tua"]

No one gets any rights!
[member="Krenis Skirata"]
It is regrettable that you're both Force Users; if you were none Force Users, you'd be perfect for the Order. Here's to a good hunt though.
