"And the Jedi aren't?" Taeli asked, an amused look crossing her face. "For all they preach about peace and serenity, not many of them seem to subscribe to that idea. They fight just as viciously against us as we do them, but even then they are still losing this war. They still try and restrain the emotions that even a common soldier will embrace to stay alive and fight. Plus, if the Jedi's teachings are so perfect, why have so many left the Republic?"
She allowed the question to hang for a moment.
"And then I ask, why do the Jedi shackle themselves to a body like the Senate, a group of people that are only interested in what betters themselves and lines their pockets? I postulate that is why so many Jedi have left for organizations like the Silver Jedi, the Jedi of the Levantine Sanctum, the Jedi that have gone grey, they can't stand watching your order slip further and further into the decadence and politics that the Senate invariably drag it into. I ask you, why have the Jedi just let all the knowledge in these ruins sit here, collecting dust? I would argue that it is because they have grown lazy, complacent even, and view all things not kept within their own archives as dangerous and might cause others to think for themselves."
"We Sith aren't perfect, but we are free, even if many take the opportunity to engage in their more sadistic fantasies. I personally abhor that style of Sith, you might think me a monster and power-hungry, but if you asked me fellow Sith, I'm fairly level-headed and strive for order rather than madness. I hunger for knowledge, because knowledge is power, something I think you understand no?
