Seen this recently and a mod request, which I won't go into.
My question are
1: For the hide to keep the abilities of the creature it was taken from does it need to be alchemized?
2: Also my understanding, it has limited effectiveness from crush and push shove anyway, is this true?

1. Yes. This has always been the way of things.
2. Not sure what you mean... I've never heard of it having limited resistance to such things.

Terentateks have a limited blanket Force resistance. Rave invented and patented a method of alchemizing the hide to preserve and enhance that property. It still doesn't give Force immunity, mainly because it's cool for the stuff to block fancy schmancy complex stuff, but no coat in the verse is going to keep you from getting chucked through a wall by a Sith Lord. Make it harder to crush? Sure, whatever. It all gets negotiated in PVP anyway.

I can't count the number of people who've ripped off my work. So far, though, only one or two have RPed out the reverse engineering with a Master alchemist, which means that anything you get is a pale imitation of what AEI sells. Talk to @Ostanes. Don't settle for knockoffs.
