Testudo Guardian Matrix

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create a type of shield boosting in which one ship could ‘share’ shields with another ship. Note, this is the first in a two part submission, the second is the SRI.
  • Canon Link: N/A
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Primary Source: N/A
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Primo Victorian Shipwright
  • Affiliation: Primo Victorian Shipwright
  • Market Status: Closed-Market
  • Model: SRI-TGM-X02
  • Modularity: N/A
  • Production: Limited
  • Material:
    • Heuristic Data Processor
    • Central Processing Unit
    • Sensor Array
    • Encryption Relay Module
    • Decryption Relay Module
    • Emergency Power Reserve
    • Capacitors
    • Deflector Array
    • Redundant Systems
    • Data Processor
    • Shield Batteries
    • Auxiliary Batteries
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Shield Extension: Generates a shield bubble around the designated vessel, with a shield line or wall formed between the main vessel and that which it is protecting through the TGM.
  • Dedicated Shield Generators: Equipped with its own series of shield generators, these generators are designed for rapid energy redirection. The shield generators are built in-house, the more generators there are the more energy that can be redirected.
  • Power Resource Allocation: Must be connected to its own source of dedicated power as the Testudo Guardian Matrix (TGM) hogs up a lot of it in order to accomplish the feat of transferring shield strength to another vessel. If it is tied to any other power source, any other system that relies on that power source may become compromised.
  • Transfer Mechanism: TGM relies on the SRI, Shield Receiving Interface, the SRI must be included otherwise the other vessel will not receive any shields from TGM. See SRI.
  • Temporary Reinforcement: TGM allows another vessel to experience a temporary reinforcement of its shield, gaining additional defensive capabilities. This boost in shields is temporary and only effective for a limited duration and is proportional to the energy diverted to the TGM.
  • Range and Coordination: Ships must be within a 3km radius of one another for minimal effectiveness. The closer the ships are to one another the more effective the TGM is. Precise coordination is essential to execute a transfer in shield strength successfully.
STRENGTHS
  • Shield Wall: Creates, and projects a shield that can be extended from the base ship to its allied ship. Allowing for a temporary reinforcement of shields.
WEAKNESSES
  • Ion: If exposed or hit with an ion blast, may short circuit or shut down.
DESCRIPTION
Created as part of a two part system that would enable one vessel or station to extend their shields to another. This was part of Primo Victorian Shipwright’s desire to create a line of more defensive minded vessels. Enabling a ship or station to act as a shield battery for the rest of the fleet. This particular vessel would hang back and generate shields, allowing allies a safe retreat.

Or enabling them to undergo quick repairs in the heat of battle. The idea of the Testudo Guardian Matrix was similar to the idea of a shield wall. Which was the intent with which it was created and developed for.
