The Ashla Reformation Government

The government of the Reformation is designed to provide fair and equal legislation for all people who fall within its domain. In order for this to be a reality, the government is comprised of several parts, with the ultimate power residing in the Triad. Beneath the triad are the Advisory Council, and the Congress of Peers. Ultimately the Council and Congress hold little to no power except in the crafting of the initial verbiage of a law. The Triad holds final authority on everything, and can rewrite a law as necessary to make it acceptable. They also hold power over the military and determine when, and how, it acts.

The Triad
One of the main problems faced by most governments is the inability to be impartial to its citizens. In order to ensure that this is not an issue in the Reformation, the signature leadership is made up of a trio of individuals who hold absolute authority over all member worlds. The reason behind the choice of a trio is simple. Part of the ultimate goal of the Reformation is the unification of the Jedi and Sith in order to create balance in the Force and nullify the continuous struggle between the two sides that has ravaged the galaxy for thousands of years. If this does not happen, the galaxy will continue its war, and will ultimately rip itself apart. The reasons for the existing of the Reformation are explained in detail in the FAQ.

The other reason for choosing a leadership trio is that it allows for the representation of Jedi, Sith, and those who cannot touch the Force, and creates a system wherein ties cannot occur and one side cannot bully the other thanks to the neutral third party. In addition, this creates a necessity for compromise in order to get things done, and encourages fair and equal treatment for all citizens of the Reformation. The triad will always be one Sith, one Jedi, and one person who cannot touch the Force.

The Advisory Council
The advisory council is made up of individuals as voted on by the Congress. There is always a council of twelve, and these people are assigned the role of providing information and advice to the Triad from the Congress, who ultimately gets their information and advice from the people of their worlds. Their job is simple to advise the triad, and that's it. They hold no other power except as being glorified members of the congress.

Congress of Peers
The congress is created of duly elected members, with one coming from each inhabited world within Reformation space. This does create a rather large body of people, and most of the meetings are done via holo as a result. The Congress of Peers is designed to be a body which comes together to make referendum's to send to the Triad. The Triad then deliberates on the suggested referendum and ultimately issues a ruling. No member of the Triad can abstain from making a choice of yay or nay, meaning all referendums sent up by the congress either get approved or denied.

Members of the congress hold a yearly vote to elect the twelve members of the Advisory Council from among their number. These individuals are the ones who take the referendum to the Triad, and also provide council on other matters. The members of congress are elected whenever the world they represent wishes to elect them, and they can be impeached by their world if deemed unfit for the position.
