The Autumn Breeze

Koda looked to Azura and giggled slightly.

"Azura, you have to be able to control the force before you use it. Plus if you want to use it, you have to put in effort. Everyone who has the force has to put in effort if they want to learn. Have to have the horse before the cart."

she replied with a slight giggle.

"So basically, you have to meditate. I would suggest either sitting criss-cross or kneeling. Then close your eyes. Clear your mind, find the force, feel it. Then I want you to focus on it until you feel calm."

Koda said as she would pat to a spot on the floor next to her. After explaining, Koda got into a kneeling position, with her hands placed on the center of her thighs and she would meditate with Azura, one to show her, but two, so she could be an example for her.

Azura sighed, sat down beside Koda and began to imitate her actions. She wasn't too sure what to do or what was going to happen. She was very curious to see if meditating did indeed help her control the Force, but she was confused about the calm part. Azura was always calm.

Either way she closed her eyes and focused on the Force, or so she thought at least. Every now and then her mind would wander off and she'd begin to daydream about something unrelated. The only she could feel in the Force was Koda.

When Koda first started, she also had trouble focusing on the force, but once you found out what it meant, it was much easier. You only found out by practice though. The secret was never told as what her own master told her.

It wasn't uncommon for someone's mind to wander, especially for starters. Koda just wanted to go through the usual routine a Jedi had to go through before training started. She helped out with a few training sessions, but when put in position as a teacher, her mind went blank. Koda hated it when that happened.

While meditating, Koda could sense Azura as she could be able to do the same. She connected with Azura and helped her keep a little more focus. She had been taught to figure out when ones mind was drifting off to elsewhere.

Azura's connection to Koda seemed to strengthen and she was once again able to concentrate on the Force. She was doing a lot better now, thanks to her help. While she focussed on Koda's aura, she started to get a feel for the room. In only few minutes, Azura was able to clearly sense every object in the room. She could see without her eyes, and this did in fact amaze her enough to make her smile.

Koda was really helping her. Perhaps all she needed was a friend to literally connect with. She kicked off the training wheels and stopped focusing on Koda and tried to get a sense of the room again. She was like a child learning to ride a bicycle by herself. She began to extend her vision a bit, but it was still a bit blurry outside of her own room.

All the while doing this, Azura felt even calmer and more at peace than she usually was, and that was really saying something. And for a change, she actually felt excited to use the Force. She was like a junky, just that she was using the Force, and not drugs or anything. It was really relaxing to her.

Koda could tell that once she stepped in to help Azura, it made a huge difference. Koda herself felt a connection with Azura. It was something so familiar, but she pushed that feeling and thought away and stayed connected to her as long as she needed to.

Once Azura seemed to have figured it out a little bit, Koda sensed Azura going off on her own and Koda then went back to her own meditation routine. Koda could start to sense Azura's signature growing stronger as they went along. Koda was also able to tell that she had found the calm she explained earlier.

She could tell Azura enjoyed using the force now that Koda had exposed her to it. Koda had a feeling that was what would happen. Now she only hoped that she'd be ab;e to get her to come with her to the Jedi.

Azura was like a child learning something completely new, she was excited to know what else she could do, and thus she slowly opened her eyes. She was blushing a lot from all the excitement,"What else can you show me? Please I want to learn more!"

Koda looked over to Azura and smiled. She could sense her excitement after learning something new. It wasn't uncommon, but usually by the time they got to the next thing Koda would help her with, some of the kids she was helping out with at the Temple, freaked out and wouldn't go back to it for weeks. It made it difficult to teach, but the masters hid their feelings on it.

"Ok. So my routine that I have gotten used to, is to then try to levitate something. I then make the object bigger and heavier as I go, just to test to see how much I can carry. It makes a huge difference."

she replied as she thought for a second before she then pulled out a small golf ball like ball and placed it on the floor a few feet from Azura.

"So, I know you are focused and you could probably pick something up that's bigger, I just didn't want to use a vase and have that broken. Alright. Close your eyes and picture the ball in your mind. Once you are able to get a clear picture of it, imagine it lifting up into the air."

Koda said, watching with her right hand around her left arm, behind her back.

Azura smiled and nodded, then she closed her eyes and repeated the same routine as earlier by calming herself and opening herself to the Force once again. It seemed to work well for her, as it took a lot less time to 'connect' then before. She envisioned the object in her mind and was quickly able to sense it through the Force, causing her smile to grow even wider.

In a moment or two, the ball began to lift off the floor. It remained in the air for awhile, about a meter, and then a few smaller objects like pencils and pieces of paper around her began to spontaneously move, as if the room was haunted. Another moment passed and Azura began to slowly move the ball around in multiple directions.

Azura seemed to blush again as she sense something else through the Force, but she wasn't exactly sure of what it was. It wasn't Koda though, it was her lightsaber strangely enough, or so she thought. Koda's lightsaber also began to float around, being played around by Azura, just without her hands this time. She could still feel something else through the Force, and was able to to determine it was not the lightsaber as she had first thought. Azura wistfully opened her eyes and slowly turned her head towards her window. There were boys peeking in, and they looked shocked and awestruck.

It took the girl a moment to realise what was happening, then she panicked, causing all the floating objects to drop. The boys freaked out aswell and ran away. Azura was a very strange person already, at least in other people's eyes, and having her fellow schoolmates witness her levitating a lightsaber and several other objects would only serve to hurt her situation, or help it. Either Way Azura wasn't one for attention. She began to sweat from all the fear and anxiety she was feeling.

She turned her head back to Koda,"What are we gonna do now? I don't want people knowing about this"

Koda watched as Azura closed her eyes and went into a meditative state once more. She saw her smile and smiled to herself a little, seeing that Azura was clearly enjoying this. She then continued watching and her smile grew once she saw the spherical object lifting into the air. Next thing she knew, smaller objects like paper, pencils, paper clips and the like started floating into the air. Koda's smile turned into a smirk as she was watching.

She could see as things were starting to make movement through the air slowly and Koda moved out of the way of a few paperclips trying to find a home in her hair. She then smoothed the skirt of the uniform Azura lent her and continued watching with a little bit of excitement creeping up on her.

A few seconds before Azura, Koda sensed as if she was being stared at. For now she figured it was just because Azura's force sense was extending further. That happened to Koda sometimes and it was a little haunting. Soon, there was a slight tug on her waist and her blue lightsaber floated into the air along with a few strands of Koda's hair that randomly started lifting into the air. She tried not to burst out laughing at her hair floating, so she muffle it, giving a small giggle.

Soon though, she realized that the staring wasn't her hallucinating; movement caught her eye and she turned her head in time to see that there were boys in the window gawking at the scene before them in the room. She gave a glare to them and at the same time, everything dropped as Azura came out of her trance. Koda made eye contact with one of them and glared slightly. She was able to sense him through the force, though he wasn't sensitive to it. Reaching down, she quickly grabbed her blue lightsaber that was rolling away on the ground, placing it on the belt of her uniform. She then looked to Azura, her look softening.

"There are two choices. They get away, telling your principle, busting our little secret and we get the hell out of here, or I go after them and teach them a lesson, making sure they don't utter a word and then we get the heck out, covering our asses. Either way, I've got a feeling which ever move we take someone's gonna notice. I'd honestly prefer going out there and stopping them before they reach your principle. If you don't want anyone knowing, I'd suggest plan B where I stop them."

she responded.

Azura admired Koda's bluntness, but it also frightened her. Either way they needed to sort out this issue very quick. The students here were very well educated and a lot less thuggish compared to other kids from less prestigious schools, meaning they were going to report her so bloody fast she'll be kicked out of the school before she could even explain. Without a second thought, Azura stood up and walked over to open the door.

"Let's stop them"

She put a finger on her chin.

"Some of those boys are part of the 1st Athletic team. One of them is in the Provincial running team... I can't catch them"

Koda was able to sense Azura's fear. There was alot of eagerness and excitement in her heart at that moment, but she calmly walked over to Azura, putting a soft hand on her shoulder. Hearing her saying that they were going after them, made the excitement grow and she could still sense the boys on the run and the excitement inside of her grew like a cancer and she felt like she was going to bounce off the walls. Hearing Azura mention that they were on the running team, made Koda smile wide. She loved competition.

"Oh don't worry.. I know I can. Besides.. I love a little competition."

she smiled and with that, she gave a slight nod and took off down the hall and sensed where the boys were. She then sensed her way through and looked for a shortcut. It wasn't long, before a left and a right soon put her right behind them. Within two seconds, she was right next to the boy in the lead and she gave him a glare before taking her right hand to his left arm and yanked him to the side before slamming him into the wall. She then held him by his collar with both hands and held him against the wall with the same glare. She then turned and looked to his buddies, giving the same glare to them as well.

"If you boys leave this area to find the principle, you're dead. If you don't believe me, I can and will prove you wrong."

She said firmly in a slightly irritated tone. Koda then looked to the boy in her grasp and continued glaring. If they made a move behind her, she'd be on them in a heartbeat.

"Spill it, pretty boy!"

Koda demanded as if she was his drill sergeant.

Azura caught up to Koda and the assailants she was chasing. It was truly strange to see a girl pushing a boy up to a wall whilst his friends gawked in shock, and enough to warrant a smile on Azura's part. But even if Koda was able to scare the captain of the running team to keep his trap shut about the incident in her room, no doubt he was going to crack as soon as Koda left. There was no way she was getting away with this.

"Koda... there's no point. I doubt these guys are gonna listen to you"

Koda still had the boy slammed against the wall. She wasn't giving up easily on this and she was getting what she wanted from them. The boy that she was glaring at, tried giving her the "hot boy look", trying to see if she'd let him go, but it wasn't working for him. So he gave a sigh before she cut him off with a question.

"Why were you looking into my friend's room? First of all, being a kid with such a reputation in this school, I'd think you'd have more class than this. You should know better than to be looking into a girl's room."

She chastised him. At this point, she hadn't noticed Azura coming up. And she didn't actually hear her until after the kid answered.

"One of my buddies saw! I swear, it wasn't my fault!"

"Sure.. I've heard that one before. I can find what I want more than you'd think." she used the Jedi mind trick on him. "You will tell me what you were doing looking into Azura's room."

"I was spying on her. She's such a nerd and doesn't belong here. We were trying to figure out how to get her in trouble."

he responded. Koda glared at him once more and all over her face, it was screaming something that would have made him regret what he had done. In a matter of a second, Koda pulled back and hurled her left fist in his cheek, knocking him out cold.

"No one speaks about my friends that way." she then turned to the other boys. "Anyone else want to be in his position or worse?"

She stared firmly at the boys who suddenly got a look of fear in their eyes. They then came towards her hesitantly and picked up their buddy before turning and heading to their dorms. Koda's look and demeanor changed like flipping a switch and she turned to Azura and took a few steps towards her, before embracing her in a soft hug.

"I'm sorry. You don't deserve that type of treatment. Hopefully this taught them a lesson. Now, we should probably head back and get you packed up. I don't need you getting punished for my actions. We need to get out of here as quickly as possible and unnoticed."

she responded calmly, with a soft hand on Azura's shoulder.

Azura's eyes began to well up after hearing the boy speak. She knew she wasn't very well liked, simply for being quiet and awkward, but she at least tried to makes friends, or have a thoughtful conversation once in awhile. Koda had actually made the situation worse. Punching the boy gave her a fright, and would definitely keep him quiet for a bit, until they realise Koda isn't actually in their school. Azura was really picked on, just ignored, but Koda had completely changed it.

Azura began to fear the worst. Even if the boys don't report her, they will most likely bully her, and gossip about her. Her already bad reputation has pretty much been ruined beyond repair. All the poor girl could see now is what lies ahead of her, and thankfully Koda seemed to have realised she completely screwed up Azura's life, and suggested they pack up.

No normal girl would agree to pack up and run away, but Azura wasn't normal, obviously. No, she let her schizophrenia completely blur her perception of reality. In Azura's mind the entire world was starting to collapse, and she need to get offworld as soon as possible. In real life she was simply crying out loud while some curious students looked on.

She rubbed her eyes, whilst continuing to cry, and grabbed Koda by the arm. She proceeded to pull her back to her room. Once she had arrived, she let go and started to pack her bag. She neatly packed some extra clothing, mostly just underwear and an extra two uniforms, as well as an assortment of other small stuff like a datapad and her ID card. She was still crying though.

Koda knew what the boy had said, hurt Azura. She would never let anyone hurt Azura. She may have just met her that day, but she had found someone who she could relate to that was similar, but was on a lighter side of it than Koda. Punching the kid may have made matters worse, but this was no longer going to be the girls' problems.

Koda wanted to help Azura calm down, but there would be more time once they got onto the ship. Once they got to the room, Koda grabbed her bag and made sure everything she had before was still there and then waited until Azura was ready. As soon as Azura was packed, Koda snuck out with her and once they made it outside, she turned and motioned for Azura to keep following her.

"My ship is this way. Once you are on, go ahead and find a seat quickly."

she said calmly. Koda then continued to her ship and once they got there, she opened the ramp and climbed on. Once Azura was on, the ramp closed behind her and then Koda ran to the cockpit of the ship, turning it on, hitting what looked like random buttons and then pulled a lever down and the ship lifted in to the air. She then drove the ship into the air and plugged in the coordinates for the Temple and then in two seconds, the ship jumped into hyperspace.

Koda knew the ship would take a while to reach their destination, so she got up and found Azura and sat next to her, putting an arm around her.

"Look Azura.. I'm sorry about what those guys said. I'm sorry if I made the situation worse, but it was just a reaction from the old days from being on the streets. This is all my fault though.. I'm so sorry.."

Koda would sit there with Azura as long as she wanted her there. Koda felt horrible frightening her and making her day worse.

This was all happening way too quickly, she didn't even realise her bags were packed and she was running out the school building, drawing plenty of curious glances in the process. Then she ended up at the local spaceport, boarding a ship owned by a girl whom she had just met and preparing to leave the entire planet. What the hell is going on?

"I'm fine...I'm sure we're fine"

I'm not thinking straight, this is just another mirage, isn't it? Sit tight, it'll clear up soon. Azura really thought she was having another hallucination. Well she wasn't. She had thrown her bags somewhere in the ship and took a seat next to Koda, who she was beginning to doubt was real.

"So where are we going?"

Koda knew things were going a little quicker than they should. At least the sane side of her knew, but that part of her, had no control over Koda right now. Now, she just wanted off of the planet. It was odd for a girl to be so used to being on the run all the time. But when you grew up doing it your whole life, it was all the same and you knew nothing else than to run until your eyes were opened.

Koda sat back in her seat. This was when she finally thought about what she was doing. She was such a maniac that she never thought about what she was doing, while she was doing it. Her mind just went on auto control and she did it. No explanation.. she just did. She guessed that that was just what happens when you are so used to being on the run all the time. When Azura's soft voice spoke up, it broke Koda out of her thought and she looked over to her.

"We're headed to Voss. You'll find that there are more people there like us. It will be a much easier way to help you learn about the force. It's the only other way I knew of to help you."

she responded.

"Oh"

Was the only thing Azura could say. She dwindled her thumbs, unsure of what to say, then decided to withdraw her teddy from one of the two small bags she packed. This childish gesture of holding a stuffed pink bear close to her was the only thing that kept her sane after suffering from mirages and loss of reality. It still felt so unreal, but she was beginning to believe it.

"Voss, huh"

At Least they'd be willing to offer me some training there. So there's a plus I guess. But what if the Jedi don't want me there? And what if I don't to become a Jedi? What then?

This had been Azura's first time in space, or the first time she could remember, but she didn't even notice. The whole situation was way too much to bare, even for her. She pulled the bear close to her as she started to softly speak again,"I don't wanna become a Jedi, will they still train me?"

Koda had her elbows on the dashboard, with her head in he hands. She sighed. It was nice having Azura on board, to give her a little company as her ship was almost always empty when she went on missions. She looked over to Azura who pulled out a stuffed bear and hugged it. She didn't mind though. Koda took a deep breath and then sat back as she watched the wormhole they were in, zoom past.

Everything that happened in the school, was definitely not how it was supposed to go. Koda felt horrible for Azura. She had made a mistake, but the boys had made an even worse and bigger one. Koda's thoughts were then broken, when she was accompanied once more of Azura's soft voice. Hearing what she said, Koda nodded.

"Yes, they will still train you."

she responded calmly.
