The Awoken: Going Major?

Alright so, we are almost at that milestone where The Awoken can apply for Major Faction Status. But i don't want to make such a choice without first telling you guys and getting your opinion since you all did help this faction get as far as it did. Despite only half of you participate in things lol.

Anywho, we've been here since Jan 28th. So technically we can apply tomorrow.

Thoughts? You guys for it? Or want us to stay Minor?

I suggest waiting at least a month. The last three factions that sprinted to Major Status (Black Rose, Jen'ari, Hutt Cartel) are all failing hard, none of them having made an impact on any other Major Faction one way or another.

Keep going strong, crank out some Faction threads, do some individual roleplays, make some things. If you can keep attention up for a month, keep pushing through threads, it will help when you hit the map. Going Major is admitting you are capable and ready for an Invasion in most people's eyes on the board, so I ask you, do you think you could handle an invasion against any of the Major Factions on the map right now?

*As a Note, while I am not active with the Faction I can help with the OOC side of things.*

As has already been said, I think we should wait awhile before we think about going major. There are plenty of advantages to being minor even if we can't partake in dominions/invasions for our factions direct benefit, but we don't need to either right now. We got more freedom than the major factions do in what we are allowed to do.

The other issue is our faction participation isn't that great. As you have said, only about half of us even reply to threads and generally our threads don't tend to go beyond a page from what I have seen. I could be wrong here though, so take it with a grain of salt. Compared to the Free Colonies, another faction I am in that wants to go major, we do not have nearly the writing power to handle it. I am not saying we don't have good writers here because we honestly have several great ones, but the entire bulk of the threads has been on the backs of these few writers and their backs will break under the weight of the demand that major faction dominion/invasion threads demand of them. We need to get more activity, and active writers, before we should look to advancing.

That is just my opinion though, so do with it what you will. Everyone who has posted here so far are part of those great writers I mentioned by the way. Keep it up you amazing people!

Major looks cool--but it isn't. There are way more options with minor, you can be and or do anything you want--so long as you aren't using the wrong toys. Going major makes you a military, basically. It makes you a government, instead of what this was made to be--a force based faction and stuff like that. I know I haven't been active in faction threads with other things I am doing on the board and my real life stuff, but after running a pretty solid minor faction for going on three months now, I can say its a lot less drama and stress than the major stuff, where there is so much pressure to perform right. I am not saying don't I am just saying I wouldn't and if you want to--make sure you got a lot of people and are ready for what is coming. Winter? No, something worse. Drama fo dat mama.

Have patience, Majesty.

Focus on building our strength, our staff, our teamwork.

Stay small. Stay focused on what matters. Your people are the most important resource you have. You need to engage them, entertain them and most of all you need them happy.

I say we wait as well.

Also I think we shouldn't go Major until we finish the Arc. That way by then we should have a steady flow of active individuals that you know you can count on for the Faction to thrive. I know there are certain topics I need to join, I will eventually get to the Arc thread. Staying Minor for that length of time to me seems like a great idea, that's roughly a month of active members helping improve and expand our influence.

Patience is key to these things.

I suggest waiting

Black Rose while a fun faction had all of its members excited and then trying to get them to post to that first dominion was like pulling teeth and still is. They are great people who enjoy rping but got so beaten down by the drama of being major most have left the site rather then be harassed
