Vilaz Munin
Aliit Alor
Alderaan, the bright beacon of hope for Republics throughout history, and now the capital of a Coalition of Free Worlds. For too long Alderaan had served as an affront to the Sith Empire, harboring enemies of the state and serving as an untouchable redoubt for pro-Republican corsairs to harry Imperial trade convoys moving between the neutral worlds just beyond the Coalition’s borders.
But no longer.
The tides had begun to shift, spies embedded within the Coalition’s territory spoke of opportunity. They had begun to stagnate, mired in complacency. The Coalition deigned to leave planetary defense up to its individual member-states, neglecting a national military in favor of planetary self-determination.
The Sith Empire held no such noble sentiments, its military was centralized and vast.
So the Sith Emperor and his villainous war council had drawn up plans to deliver a series of knockout blows to the ailing state. A tripartite strike at the Coalition’s most important planets, Alderaan, Kuat, and Balmorra.
They would come without any warning. No mercy would be given to those on Balmorra as vessels came out of hyperspace and amassed over the sphere of Balmorra. From the reports of spies embedded within the Coalition, the time to strike was ripe. A loose confederacy of planets independent from any central authority, yet cooperating with each other had its pros and cons. A central army was one of its many disadvantages and with the current state of the Free Worlds Coalition it would only be a matter of time for someone to raid and pillage their worlds.
And that time had come now.
Invited to the Dark Lord’s war council, Vilaz Munin along with those that attended the council discussed over strategies and plans about what to do when they struck at the Coalition. Took several days to find and calculate the best efficient way to attack as they planned on unleashing their wrath on not just Alderaan, but to Kuat and Balmorra.
The latter the veteran Mandalorian would lead as Darth Carnifex appointed and blessed him with such command.
The Warlord’s forces was diverse with Mandalorian warriors, Imperial soldiers, and Sith Knights. He had promised his clansmen the glory of war as he and Dark Lord were firm allies. Now he had delivered them that promise and they were off to paint Balmorra in blood and in destruction.
No doubt were alarms sounding off, alerting the defenders of the massive invasion force that looked down above from the heavens. But the Munin also made sure to have everyone at the ready as swarm of fighters came out from the hangars along with assault transports containing infantry, vehicles, and artillery would be delivered to the earth. Artillery and vehicles would be delivered on the outskirts of Bin Prime, the capital of Balmorra, where the defenses wouldn’t compromise them. Daring troops would try to land within the city limits of Bin Prime or near it. Other soldiers that were more relaxed and passive and join with the assault vehicles.
Vilaz rode with his elite warriors within the comforts of Bin Prime, testing his luck and chances. He had desires to attack and burn the worlds of the Free Worlds Coalition for personal reasons.
And now he would, and he’d made sure to leave behind him ashes and corpses.
But no longer.
