The Bastion

THE BASTION
Space
A new ship, a new crew. Kahlil had spent years wandering through space swapping out crews when needed to find new planets and new people. He had saved quite a lot of money doing that, eventually buying his own astromech R6-G9 who, despite the kindness it had shown at first, felt right at home enough to show it's far more sassy side to it's owner. They had bonded as close friends.

And they needed a new ship. The T40 proved to be the best choice, and soon enough they had made it home between the two of them. An empty home devoid of a crew. So he recruited. Well, not in the normal sense. [member="Thiavi"] was the only one he actually recruited. [member="Kafh-en-ma-nofre"] he had grabbed from Kashyyyk after showing him the Force, and finally [member="Amaryllis Tansea"] was picked off of a random stop found pretty much wild.

Today was their first actual job as a crew. Simple freight transportation. Food and medicine to a small village on Ryloth, the same that had been assaulted by the Witch Thiavi and Kahlil had faced. They were floating around in hyperspace, Kahlil in the cockpit with R6 just watching the lines of stars go by. "Y'know, it's different having other people around. Crazy, huh? Who'd of thought we'd end up with a proper crew."

[Sarcastic beeps]

Kahlil let out a nervous laugh. "Right, you bet against it. Heh."

[Entry 11]
Interesting, after my arrival on Kashyyyk, Kahlil brought me to his ship, something about a crew, honestly I wasn't really paying attention, I know I know...bad manners on my part but in passing I think I spotted what was called a uh...Wookiee? Those large furry thingys that Kahlil spoke of. Gods they were scary. Anyway. So I guess now I'm on this ship Kahlil called it "The Bastion" or something. Strange I know. But I guess this Galaxy itself is strange.

Note: Find a map of the ship...Have no clue where the bathroom is yet...
...

Kafh looked up from his journal, he couldn't exactly tell where he was on the ship the young man shook his head. He gave a slight yawn and closed his journal and shoving it into his pocket. If he were to guess he was in some kind of main area. He'd gotten lost while looking for Kahlil. Such is life. Ka looked around for a second then settled himself in a chair. He leaned his head back and closed his eyes. Taking in a deep breath as he did.

"Wonder where everyone is..." Kafh said with a yawn. As he 'rested' his eyes.

Apparently Kahlil had an idea for a crew and today was it's first mission...or something like that. Kafh shrugged, again he was distracted by something, this time the ship and how different it was. Had he met the rest of the crew? Hell. if he knew his way around the ship maybe. Can't even find the damn bathroom.

Amaryllis stared at herself in the mirror. She knew she had grew, and became older, but she hadn't realized just how different she looked from when she last looked in a mirror. At least, in a mirror that actually showed good detail. Not the rusted, stained reflection from the durasteel on her old home. Or peering over the water.

But more weirdly, she found herself wearing what these people called clothes. It was... Constricting, but apparently safe and appropriate. Staring at the purple outfit that adorned her, she turned, her long tail safely curled up to avoid being caught in any unsafe areas.

She did enjoy the flower thingy from the cape, although she had to keep the hood down. The hood was immensely annoying. And now that she was able to really brush her hair... It just wouldn't do.

Her eyes peered out the window at the space that was outside. Space... Off Akiva. In truth, she was terrified. So many changes, so many differences, and so much to think about and process. But, she did her best.

And with that, she decided to go explore the... Spaceship, as it was called. She tiptoed her way through the ship, inspecting things as she went. She paused as she saw some man resting his eyes in a chair. She blinked, still unaccustomed to seeing so many two leggers about. Carefully, and quietly, she moved towards what seemed to be a control-esq area. [member="Kahlil Zambrano"] lay in the... Cockpit, with the talking metal box. She still wasn't sure about them... Things, especially as it beeped about.

Because of that, she backed away, carefully as her eyes caught the passing of space through a window once more. Long tail uncurled, curling back up in rhythm as she watched in utmost curiosity. Pondering what to say - or even do. All she knew she was apparently helping transport some goods to some village on another planet. Goodness, even the food was so different now...

"You know you can come in right." Kahlil didn't need to see [member="Amaryllis Tansea"] to know she was there. R6 already noticed her and let him know with another warble. It ended up rolling right past the Chameleon woman, glancing to her once with a long string of slow beeps. Which earned a choking laugh from Kahlil who got up from his seat. "Nope, nevermind. Anyway. Come on, have you met Kafh yet?" He gave the woman a kind smile before he too, passed her by.

"[member="Kafh-en-ma-nofre"] you around? I think it's time we have a good ol' meeting with everyone. See if you can't find [member="Thiavi"] in the process, yeah?"

At the sound of Kahlil's voice, Kafh-en-ma-nofre opened his eyes. He slowly got up off of the chair and stretched out his arms a bit. Before heading to the source of the Captain's voice. The young man gave a small yawn. "Uh of course...I'm sure a uh meeting would be fine. Though I'll admit I haven't seen [member="Thiavi"] yet...she must be tinkering on her metal friend." Kafh would say. As he reached the two. "It's quite alright for you to just-" He stopped when he noticed [member="Amaryllis Tansea"]. Such a strange girl. He tilted his head and looked to Kahlil.

"Teacher. Uh who's that?" Kafh said softly. Interesting, definitely a species I haven't seen before. She has the looks of a feral creature....Hm. Kafh shook his head and looked down to the floor.

"At any rate Niisan, Thiavi will show up soon enough." Kafh said with a warm smile as he met Kahlil's gaze, it was only for a second though, then the young man looked back down.

[member="Kahlil Zambrano"]

Amaryllis glanced towards [member="Kahlil Zambrano"]'s voice. She could come in? Well, she wasn't sure. Especially with the... Ahhh! She let out a small, barely audible hiss as she pressed herself against the cold wall. How could she trust the... 'droid' one, named R6. What a peculiar name, too.

She relaxed as she watched him roll away. Her attention obviously switched to Kahlil, she posed slightly in her outfit. "Like? It twirls! And is so... Constricting." She commented as she twirled the cape around some.

But she shook her head at his question. "This on- um, I have not yet met this two legger yet," she stated as she walked somewhat behind, but likely close enough that she was definitely invading his personal space. But, at least she smelled like 'cherry blossoms'. What were a 'cherry blossom' anyway?

She stood on her tippy toes, peering over Kahlil's shoulder at the other two legger. The other two leggo. Thiavi. Well, Amara was sure she didn't like her... "This one is Amaryllis," she stated after a moment, more nervous. "Mean... I am Amaryllis. It is pleasure to meet two legger."

Ugh... Eventually she'd get this talking thing down.

[member="Kafh-en-ma-nofre"]

"As she said, this is Amarylis. Your fellow padawan, and junior technically." He gave [member="Kafh-en-ma-nofre"] a smile as [member="Amaryllis Tansea"] had introduced herself. Good, she wasn't too shy about other two-leggers. Heh. Interesting name for them. He doubted, even if she was fully fluent again, that would end. Regardless, at least they were meeting. [member="Thiavi"] would have to wait.

"I'll be teaching you both how to be Jedi while we travel. So, I hope you get along. At least try to for me, yeah?" He chuckled. He had no doubt they wouldn't be able to get along at least.

Kafh looked up as Amaryllis spoke. He barely saw her past Kahlil body. "Hm..." He gave a slight bow. "A pleasure to uh...meet your acquaintance. My name is Kafh-en-ma-nofre, but it'd be easier if you call me Kafh." He looked over to Kahlil who had explained that the girl was to be his fellow Padawan. The young man smiled. Kahlil was going to teach them both how to be Jedi, and expected them to get along. Kafh didn't see much of a problem. He nodded in agreement.

"Of course Teacher..I'll uh do my best not to disappoint." Kafh said as he looked over to Amaryllis. "What kind of species are you? I have not come across such a...strange being..." Kafh said as he studied her a bit more.

He wondered where Thiavi was, he hope she'd come around soon so they could find out the exact plan.

Amaryllis gave a happy, genuine smile to Kafh. She was excited and curious to learn more about the two leggers. Apparently, at least according to [member="Kahlil Zambrano"], there were planets full of two leggers... Whole city-planets. She took a breath as she forced herself out from behind Kahlil, careful to stay basically an inch away from him.

"Kafh," she bowed her head lightly before returning. This Padawan business was new for Amaryllis. She hadn't realized she had this Force thing - and she still didn't really understand it. All she knew is that she made stuff grow and could make animals help her and talk to them and stuff.

But she was now this... Padawan. And Kahlil would teach her. And about the world, too. "I will get along if friendly!" Although with his question, she scowled with a frown. "This one is not strange," she stated matter of factly. "Two legger is strange," she retorted. What was up with two leggers staring? And being rude? And asking such questions?

"I do not know what... Species, this one is." Ugh. Language was hard.

[member="Thiavi"]

"At the end of the day we're all pretty similar, in most ways. Yeah?" Kahlil certainly wanted to avoid any talk on who was normal and who wasn't. Especially because [member="Amaryllis Tansea"] was the one who was weird compared to the rest of the galaxy. [member="Kafh-en-ma-nofre"] and he were among humans, the most common after all. Still, there was no sign of [member="Thiavi"] , so.. Maybe..

"Right, we're going to do a bit of training. You both know how to use the Force right? Let's see.." He began rubbing his chin, glancing around the room. Right when R6 came into view. A grin formed. "You're going to lift R6 with the force. R6, get over here." There was a flurry of beeps that was most likely cursing, but the droid came over and turned it's head between the three.

"Just focus on that feeling with the Force, and imagine lifting him. Your limit is your belief."

Kafh watched as Amaryllis came out from behind Kahlil, but she remained very close to him. It was probably because she trusted him more, heh who was he kidding of course she trusted him. Kafh had just met her.

Amaryllis didn't seem to like Kafh calling her strange, and in return she called him 'the two legger' strange. Kafh looked to Kahlil who told them that they were all pretty similar to which Kafh agreed. Yes in the gods eyes everyone is similar and should be treated equally but that wasn't always the case... especially on Ankhypt.

The young man bowed his head to Amaryllis. "Apologies, I did not mean to uh offend you." Kafh apologized. He lifted his head when Kahlil said that they were going to do a bit of training. Kafh-en-ma-nofre cocked his head. Training? How were they going to train on a ship? His question was answered soon enough when Kahlil said they were going to lift R6. Kafh looked to the astromech. The man gave advice saying their only limit was their belief.

He looked to the Droid, then to Kahlil.

"Teacher, while I do not doubt your faith in us, I'm not sure that I can do what you ask. What if the gods don't trust me enough? Or something goes wrong?" Kafh said worriedly.

[member="Kahlil Zambrano"]
[member="Thiavi"]
[member="Amaryllis Tansea"]

Amaryllis gave a small nod to [member="Kahlil Zambrano"]. Indeed, they were both similar. They were both two leggers, for instance. And they all had this Force thing, which Amara still hadn't quite wrapped her head around yet. But she was slowly getting the hang of stuff! Like how to avoid getting cold feet on the metal floor.

"This one... Um, I... It is okay." She gave a small smile to Kafh, hoping they could be friends at least.

"I make plants grow," she commented proudly. "And talk to the birds, and the animals of the jungle," she confirmed a moment later, apparently that being the Force. What were gods that Kafh spoke of? Why wouldn't they trust him? Amaryllis tilted her head.

But likewise, she lurked back behind Kahlil at the sudden arrival of the driod. Weird, metal thing that beeped was not very nice. Or didn't seem nice. She was supposed to feel a metal rolly thing with the Force? "Feel alive things, only," she stated, confused. Could she actually do something with a robot? Or anything that wasn't alive, in truth?

[member="Kafh-en-ma-nofre"]

"Heh. Well. The only thing stopping you is not trying. Trust me, you both can do this. The Force flows through all things. Living, dead, inanimate. You only need to close your eyes," To prove the point Kahlil did just that, raising his hand to R6 who was already a flurry of beeping protests. "Focus on the Force, and lift." Within moments R6 was in the air, flailing uncomfortably as he raised it higher and higher.

Then slowly set it down. Kahlil opened his eyes, glancing between [member="Amaryllis Tansea"] and [member="Kafh-en-ma-nofre"] .

"Just believe in yourself, and trust the Force. It can be done."

Kafh was relieved that Amaryllis had accepted his apology. He looked over to her curiously. She could make plants grow? Interesting. Kafh even more was the fact that she could talk to animals. Truly remarkable. Kahlil explained that the Force flows through everything, living, dead, even inanimate objects. He reestablished the fact that they had to trust in the Force.

Kafh-en-ma-nofre nodded as he watched the Droid lift up effortlessly before being placed back down. Kafh looked to Kahlil. "Okay...I'll do my best." Kafh said as he closed his eyes, reaching out to the warmth of the Force. Finding the same feeling he felt back on Kashyyyk not too long ago. He pictured R6 rising through the air when Kahlil lifted it. Now it was his turn. Kafh steadied his breathing focusing on the Force, willing it to levitate the Droid. Kafh reached out towards R6 with one of his hands and it began to slowly rise up. Kafh held the astromech up for a few seconds before lowering it to the ground. The Ex-Slave opened his eyes and gave a half smile. "Trippy." Was all he said.

[member="Kahlil Zambrano"]
[member="Amaryllis Tansea"]

But it was animate and it wasn't alive, right? Or was it alive? It seemed to communicate, at least to [member="Kahlil Zambrano"] and it seemed that [member="Kafh-en-ma-nofre"] understood it too. Amaryllis just heard beep, beepy, and more beeps. It was a bit annoying, in truth, but it was what it was.

In eihter case, she gave a small nod to Kahlil. She'd try, at least. But she'd definitely let Kafh go first. Once he completed the task, she clapped her hands and had a big grin. "That one did it!" She exclaimed with a big grin. It was great to see him do it, especially considering his initial hesitation.

But realizing it was her turn, Amara's eyes widened and she returned back to hiding behind Kahlil for a moment as she prepared herself. Her long tail, curled currently, uncurled and she took a breath as she stepped out. As she closed her amber eyes, she tried to feel what she felt when she made plants do stuff.

And somehow, she felt it. For a couple seconds it held a few inches above ground, before she lowered it. She opened her eyes wide afterwards, shocked that she actually did it. She glanced to Kafh, then to Kahlil, and then back to the droid. "T... I hope did not hurt rolly metal thing."

"Good. Good! Both of you!" Kahlil had a wide excited smile. R6, on the other hand, was letting loose a flurry of annoyed beeps and warbles before it slid away now that the basic training was done. Kahlil could only laugh, offering a shrug to [member="Amaryllis Tansea"] . "R6 is fine, just sassy as always. You both have done well however. Really well. For now, we'll switch to smaller things. Work on using that as much as you can. It's sort of against Jedi policy to use it out in public to show off, but say here, in our home, try to use the Force as the only way you pick things up. Sound good?"

[member="Amaryllis Tansea"] [member="Kafh-en-ma-nofre"]

Kafh watched as Amaryllis did the same, lifting the astromech off the ground with the Force, and then hoping she didn't hurt R6. Kafh nearly laughed, sporting an amused grin on his face. Kahlil congratulated them on a job well done and R6 made his exit, a flurry of beeps going with him. Kafh-en-ma-nofre sighed his programming was probably bad...then again Kafh-en-ma-nofre would be irritated too if he was lifted and dropped three times.

He looked over to Amaryllis. "Good job, it's definitely going to take time to hone our skills."

Kahlil explained the rules of using such power. Kafh nodded. "Of course Sen." He paused thinking for a moment. "What's the biggest thing you've lifted?" Kafh asked.

[member="Kahlil Zambrano"]
[member="Amaryllis Tansea"]

Amaryllis jumped behind Kahlil at the sudden eruption of noises from the droid. Her hands grabbed onto his arm as she peered around him. Her head tilted slightly sideways as she listened to [member="Kahlil Zambrano"] and [member="Kafh-en-ma-nofre"]. "Okay... Will use Force to do so," she stated quietly.

Although, more importantly, "We'se ones need more plants! Fruit plants! For food and cooking," she said with a small nod. That was her expertise, apparently. Who knew what forced survival for 11 years in the jungle wilds would do.

Although wiht [member="Kafh-en-ma-nofre"] question, she perked a brow and looked up at him. She had seen him lift those big rocks, but surely he had lifted over big things? "Other policy, know?" What if she ended up doing some unspoken rule on accident? Eeeep!

"The biggest thing?" Kahlil paused and thought for a moment. He wasn't really that focused on telekinesis, but he had done some pretty impressive things recently. Or well, he wasn't sure if they were impressive or not. [member="Thiavi"] was there for it, actually, now that he thought about it. "I ripped the ground up in a diner to build walls of earth to cover the windows." He laughed, rubbing the back of his head. "It actually exhausted me though. We were trying to stop a horde of undead summoned by a witch and when the witch herself came in I was unable to fight. Pretty lame of me huh."

He glanced to [member="Amaryllis Tansea"] as she mentioned food though. A smile formed, this one softer, as he nodded. "After we drop off our freight we'll go get some plants to put on the ship. Sound good?"

[member="Kafh-en-ma-nofre"]

Kahlil fought an undead hoard with Thiavi? Hm guess they have some awesome stories. Kafh smiled to Kahlil. "That sounds... straining, but I'm sure you did your best, even if you were quickly exausted. Glad you two made it out okay." Kafh said with a warm smile.

Amaryllis mentioned not havi fruit plants and food for cooking. She had recently taken on the job of chef for the crew, Kafh had to say, her cooking was extremely well for a feral. She used very interesting ingredients. He just hope she washed her hands, not that he'd tell her any of that.

Kahlil stated that they'd get the plants and other needed items after they delivered the goods. Kafh nodded. It would be nice to get to a market, he'd been meaning to get various texts on medicine, ever since he was grazed with a blaster bolt he thought it'd be best if he at least knew common medicine.

"What exactly are we hauling Teacher?" Kafh asked with a tilted head.
