The Beginning of Something New

"It's best you learn to use what is most comfortable for you. I have no training in the pike or anything like that, so I can't directly instruct you on how certain maneuvers will transition into the pike. But it'll be fine."

Vaulkhar took a moment to consider his new apprentice as he looked him over. Releasing a sigh, he nodded.

"Alright, you're looking for quick and easy strikes. Are you trying to simply out maneuver your opponent? Slip in and out of their guard? Or are you trying to overpower your opponent with your strikes?"

"I wish to outmaneuver and slip in and out of the guard of my enemy", Gray said. "I would also like to integrate force pulls and pushes into my lightsaber fighting, like the way of the rancor". He raised his lightsaber and prepared for the Shii-Cho. He first learned about the body zones: the head, the back, the left side, the right side, the left leg, and the right leg. He learned strikes to each of the 6 zones, and blocks for each one of those strikes.

A grin immediately lit up Vaulkhar's face once again, hearing the desires of his new apprentice. The Way of the Rancor was something Vaulkhar spent years within the Sith Academy on Coruscant studying. He wasn't a master of the style, not by far. But he was more than capable of teaching it. His eyes once more began to study Gray as he simply nodded.

"I can see that. Considering your lightsaber pike, you are more than capable of simultaneously attacking and defending. It would greatly compliment your battle style. I suppose we can get started right now."

Turning towards the wall, he moved to click a panel. The panel caused two hidden doors within the training room to simply shift over, allowing two training droids to slide out of the hidden area. They were located on two small poles, giving them the illusion of standing. Vaulkhar activated each droid with the movement of his hand behind each mech's head. With a nod to Gray, he pointed to each droid.

"You take the one on the left, I take the one on the right. The droids are programmed to run basic offense and defensive patterns. All you have to do is keep up a solid defense against the droid. I'm just going to watch and utilize my droid to show you any mistakes."

He took on the left droid with his lightsaber pike. He started the combat off with a roll, then jumped up. Jumping up from the ground Gray spun, then kicked the droid in what would be the temple. He pushed off the droid with his other leg, and landed on the ground. He spun his lightsaber pike, then he did a simple overhead strike. The training droid blocked the blow with ease. Gray followed up his attempted strike with a flurry of quick strike, using both blades of the pike. He struck to the body, and the droid tred to keep up.

Gray actually struck the droid in the leg, when it failed to jump in time. He cut off one of it's legs, but it continued to fight. He used the force to pull the droid towards him, then he sliced through it's stomach.

Vaulkhar perked a brow almost immediately as the combat started. The fast flowing offense, coupled with the acrobatics, and the usage of the force caused him to nod in appreciation. The offense was well done and he left very little room to be attacked, which bode well for Gray's training. If anything, he had found himself quite a skilled student.

"Have you ever considered Ataru, Gray? You seem to already have the basics down."

"I suppose I could try Ataru, but is it effective with a lightsaber pike? Or maybe with two lightsabers?", Gray asked. He wanted to try lightsaber combat with two lightasber, which he believed to be better than with just one lightsaber combat.

"Ataru is a form that is rather exhausting, considering it relies on both your physical abilities and your force abilities. I wouldn't focus solely on it, but it is definitely something to consider."

Vaulkhar deactivated his training lightsaber and leaned against the droid, looking at the broken equipment before him. He sighed as now he had to fix it, which was never a fun time. Looking at the lightsaber pike, he considered the wolf man's questions. He was most certainly agile, lacking somewhat in the strength department. Using certain arts would not serve him well, which was never a good thing.

"I can teach you to begin your training with two lightsabers. Also, your pike works perfectly fine, but it's at a disadvantage against a normal, dual-bladed lightsaber. Ataru and Jar'kai both could both benefit you. We will go over Shii-cho, considering it's a beneficial foundation for all lightsaber combatants. But I think Jar'kai would greatly help you, possibly even some dabbling in Ataru considering your display. What do you know on these lightsaber forms?"

Vaulkhar knelt down and lowered himself into a meditative positioning before pointing to the mat before him. It was time for a verbal lesson.
