Private The Best Offense Is A Good Defense

Peeboo, for all intents and purposes seemed more interested in seeing what Shan knew of his people and stayed quiet as he brought them over towards the tables. Various other Ewok stopping for a moment to take a sight at the new arrivals before carrying on with their own duties. Of course, a few of the younger Ewoks continued to stand and stare but more in amazement and bewilderment than any negative emotions.

"I'll admit. I'm not an expert on them. I do my best to try and read up on other cultures but the real thing is commonly quite different to what you read on. They're not quite a...technologically advanced people. Though they are quite skilled in what they can use. I mean, look at this village. I'd doubt any of it was made using building methods you'd see on Coruscant, or Fondor."

Shan grinned as he spoke, using his hands whilst he did mostly to add emphasis as he did. Peeboo just seemed to be happy about the flattery though the Ewok did raise his hand for a moment to bring Shan and Zaiya's attention to the Ewok representative could speak to the two Jedi.

"We would like to expand. Use metal and electricity. It why some of us leave Endor. Go and see bigger Galaxy. I left for while. Came back now to speak for people. Chipchip want to leave when he older."

Peeboo pointed off in the direction of where they had came from, where Chipchip seemed to be staying by the side of the Ewok Shaman, staring down at the ground and kicking at a few of the wooden planks in disappointment. It appeared Chipchip would rather go and be with teh Jedi than talk to the Shaman.

Zaiya listened to the Ewok Representative as he explained what they would like to do. Delight would immediately radiate off the Lovalla teen with resonating golden bioluminescence over her skin, giving it a pearly quality, as she excitedly asked, "Oh, are you interested in technology!? Me too! What do you want to do with metal and electricity? Just bring it to the village or something in particular? Maybe something we can help with?"

Chipchip gave a huff, much rather wanting to try and go elsewhere than talking with the Shamen. Seeing this, Zaiya flashed a friendly smile over at Chipchip, "What are you interested in Chipchip?"

Maybe they could find something that would interest everyone so that Chipchip wouldn't feel left out. On the plus side, at least they were not being considered the Ewok's next meal. That was a massive plus.

Peeboo explained to Zaiya what exactly they wanted electricity and some metal for. It wasn't something they needed, it was more for comfort purposes which was partly the entire purpose of electricity and metal.

"Hunting. Make better traps. Bring back more food with better traps. Don't want to change all of home. Just want to make life easier. Let more Ewok leave home."

Chipchip blinked as Zaiya spoke to him, causing the little Ewok to just point its paw up into the air, jumping up and down and causing a small little commotion, as he was suddenly filled with a burst of energy at being asked what he wanted. Most of the other Ewoks never cared about what he wanted.

"Up! Up! Ship! Boom! Boom! Bang! Woooosh!"

He swooshed his paw through the air as Chipchip started to imitate space battles, whilst Shan sat there in confusion, tilting his head as he was trying to wrap his head around the smaller Ewok's words. It seemed like Chipchip wanted to be a pilot...Were there even ships that fit Ewoks as pilots?

Zaiya listened with interest, but as Peeboo continued, her colors dimmed because she wasn't familiar at all in helping in any of those types of things. Also, was Peeboo saying that he was encouraging the Ewoks to leave and explore on their own? Chipchip's excitement and mention of ships, booms and whooshes immediately made the Lovalla teen think that perhaps the Ewok was talking about wanting to leave on a ship.

"Do you want to go on a ship, Chipchip?" Zaiya hadn't figured out yet that he actually wanted to pilot one. But that was the thing with meeting new cultures and people. Things were lost in translation. Much like figuring out what things meant between friends as well. Things with Aris, for example, were getting a bit confusing. No, wait, that's all just in your head, Zaiya told herself. Stop overthinking.

"Yep yep! Go Whoosh! Me fly!" He excited spat out, giving a few bounces. Really, they were a cute race.

"Oh... I mean... I guess we can take you onto our ship to take a fly around the jungle?" Zaiya looked at Shan Pavond Shan Pavond wondering if that would be okay?

Shan tapped his chin in thought at that. The interceptor was only big enough for two people but Chipchip and Zaiya were both pretty short themselves. If Zaiya had been a capable flying, Shan might have suggested that his padawan take Chipchip into the air herself but that wouldn't have been a good idea in his mind. Especially if they were going to be flying amongst the trees. Honestly, the concept of flying around the jungle seemed more dangerous than Shan was willing to risk...but that didn't mean flying was out of the equation.

"We won't be going through the jungle. If Chipchip wants to fly, he'll get to fly. We'll go around the surface of Endor from the atmosphere. But he's going to have to sit in your lap."

Of course, he glanced at Peeboo to make sure the offer was alright and once the represenative, Shan got ready to jump up to his feet...before remembering they still had to eat the meal first as he sat himself back down. It looked like he was the one who had gotten too eager for a moment there as he looked over towards Zaiya and Chipchip, giving them an awkward little smile.

"...Forgot that we need to eat first. Oops."

Shan Pavond Shan Pavond 's agreement sent a dizzying ripple of blues and golds across Zaiya's bioluminescent skin, her joy shimmering in vibrant hues. She clapped her hands excitedly, and ChipChip, her furry little companion, caught on quickly.

"Yipyip!" he cheered, pumping his tiny fist into the air. The elders gave him stern looks, making him quickly quiet down and settle in to eat.

"Yes! Let's eat," Zaiya echoed, already feeling famished as she eyed the food laid out before them. She remembered that Shan mentioned he was a vegetarian and wondered if he knew what was in the dishes.

Curiosity lit her patterns with citrine shades as she picked up a carved wooden spoon. Unsure if there was any ritual or process before they could start eating, Zaiya paused and waited, watching the others for a cue.

All of the Ewok just seemed to dig straight into their food without much hesitation. Some of them being more civilised and using the wooden cutlery to eat, whilst others, like Chipchip were just eating with their grubby little paws to get as much food as they could. Chipchip mostly eating as much as he could with the belief that the sooner he was finished, the sooner they'd get to go up into the sky.

Meanwhile Shan was taking his time, carefully using the cutlery to push apart some of the food. Of course, he wasn't entirely sure what was meat and what wasn't, but he was doing his best to try and separate what he believed was the meat from the rest of his plate, handing them off to the other Ewoks around them so they'd be able to eat his left overs. Though he did glance up towards Zaiya every so often to make sure she was eating.

Zaiya noticed that Shan Pavond Shan Pavond was moving his food around as if to avoid eating specific items of the meal. Perhaps because he wasn't quite sure what it was. That made sense -- there was always the risk when trying new food that perhaps it may be something one may have a serious objection to eating.

Either way, Zaiya dug in, enjoying the meal. She did her best to try to make conversation with Chipchip and learn a bit more about the Ewoks themselves. It was difficult, but perhaps her friendly demeanor and interesting ways that her skin would shift colors and occasionally glow were enough to allow a measure of conversation.

Once they were done - and after many assurances of gratefulness for the food, it was now time to decide what they would do next. There was an offer to learn more about the village from the Elder, while another offer lay in giving Chipchip that flight he wanted. Or perhaps there was a third option Shan would like to take? Zaiya wasn't sure on the plans, but she was happy to join in whatever came their way.

Shan kept glancing up every so often to make sure that Zaiya was still eating. Listening to her chatting away to Chipchip who kept communicating in rather broken Basic, or making little grunts and try to communicate. Unlike Peeboo, Chipchip wasn't as experienced in speaking basic but he was clearly enjoying having someone new and unique to talk to, as the little Ewok waved its little paws in the air whilst speaking and just caused Shan to grin to himself. Eventually Shan was finished with the food, pushing his plate off to the side, to let the Ewoks eat away at any meat that he had left behind.

"Alright. Zaiya, Chipchip, you two ready? I don't want to take up too much of the Ewoks' time. This wasn't exactly...on my plan at the end of the day but I think it's a good lesson for both you and Chipchip, alongside a good experience."

It was starting to get a bit later on Endor, and Shan didn't want to be walking around or flying around at night. Sure, they could simply turn on some lights to walk around but he also felt like Chipcip wouldn't get to enjoy the sight of the planet if it was shrouded in darkness. So flying whilst there was still some light was the best plan.

"Wait!" Zaiya called out to Shan Pavond Shan Pavond , Chipchip following them both excitedly. Anticipation thrummed through Zaiya's body, and her skin shimmered with a positive glow at the Mirialan's words.

"Do you mean you're going to teach Chipchip and me how to fly?" Her excitement bubbled over at the thought. If she could learn to fly, she could travel, visit her friends, and explore new places! Sure, she didn't have a ship, but it was such a neat, independence-growing skill to have.

"Really, really?!" Zaiya bounced on her tippy toes, her opal blue eyes wide and sparkling with excitement.

"Yes. I'm going to teach you how to fly. Well, pilot. You don't have any actual wings you can use for actual flight."

Shan broke out into a little grin at that. It was going to be somewhat difficult because of how fast the interceptor could turn and move but it was better to learn in a safeish environment. It did mean he'd have to make sure Cipchip wasn't going to mess around too much...but it was fine. They would just need to take the elevator down and then walk all the way back to the ship...And of course Chipchip wanted another piggy back ride whilst they walked to the interceptor.

" Oh. My. Stars. YAY!" it seemed as if a massive golden and blue bioluminescence pulse went rippling all over Zaiya's skin; it was almost blinding if one was looking directly at her.

Which poor Chipchip was.

He suddenly froze, a frozen expression on his fluffy face as his chocolate brown eyes went wide, stars and lights flashing behind his eyes as he tried to get his eyesight back.

"Oh no! I'm sorry Chipchip!" Zaiya exclaimed, startled at the sudden burst of light herself that she expressed. She had been entirely elated at the prospect of learning to fly, that she couldn't help the sudden dazzle of glowing colors her skin gave off. Even now, while her skin had flurries in color tones of alarm, it was still shinning with a pearly luminance.

Thankfully, he was okay, just temporarily light blinded.

However, in hindsight, perhaps something like that could be useful if Zaiya could learn how to control it.
