Private The Best Place for Tea

Kay-Larr

Sphaera Tea Company Owner
Kay pondered on the description. She once knew a Zabrac a long time ago. But he didn't have any Mandalorian armour that she was aware of. But people change...

She gave Draco Miles Draco Miles a bright smile. "Oh yes. Our friendship had a rocky start as he caught me once and turned me in. But we ended up saving eachother's lives later on and became the best of friends. He's the one that pulled me out of the Nether. He's known as Ghorua the Shark Ghorua the Shark . As far as I'm aware, he's working for the Hutts, and one of the finest hunters that I know."

“Shark…? What’s a shark?”

Damn that’s a dope ass bounty Hunter though. Look at that man! King Shark. But yeah she never met him, and as Kay-Larr Kay-Larr told her story she sipped at that warm tea, absolutely beautiful stuff. Works wonders on the body, and was now like crack to Draco. She needed that fix, bro, just an ounce of tea bro plz

“Sounds cool though, anyone that has a title is fairly cool. Like uh… Iunno, Albert the Strongman. Who thinks albert is a cool name? But add some cool title like Strongman and now it’s cool”

"Shark is a nickname, that's all." Draco Miles Draco Miles seemed to have gotten it though.

Kay laughed at her admiration of titles. She had given up all of hers, no longer feeling worthy of any of them. And whenever she left the shoppe, she would go under an alias which was again titleless and no one of note. It was the best way to avoid trouble.

"Will you be off to see Amy next? If so I should give you some of my Darkside cookies to give to her. Those are her favourite. I don't know if she's had any for a while."

Slightly Paranoid Apprentice
“I didn’t really have any plans after this, so visiting The Amalgam The Amalgam would be nice. I’ll bring her the cookies, might steal one for myself too~ What’s in ‘em anyways? Is it just a special name for Chocolate Chip cookies?”

This was quickly becoming her favorite place! Tea, cookies, what next? Meat?! Like a nice slab of something dead, and that’d have her practically living here… might be good for protection

"Darkside Cookies isn't just a name. They are infused with a little bit of the Darkside. They have medicinal properties too because of the chocolate. But they can be addictive."

Kay walked over to the side counter and lifted up a glass dome from a platter. She then carried the platter of Darkside cookies to Draco Miles Draco Miles . "Would you like to try one? Free sample." They weren't illegal, so she held no qualms in giving them out to people.

Slightly Paranoid Apprentice
“Oooo… drugs!”
Draco was not smart, and took the cookie, putting the whole thing in her mouth and barely savoring the taste. She must really like cookies… she observed that glass platter and definitely needed to steal that before she left. For… scientific… purposes… yeah, that’s totally it

Kay let out a short laugh as Draco Miles Draco Miles devoured the cookie in seconds. "Did you taste it? How was it?"

She carried the platter back and set the dome overtop, but not before putting some aside. Draco was a curious one indeed. Yet a friend of The Amalgam The Amalgam was a friend of hers. Hopefully the cookies make it back to her. Kay began boxing them up. "Amy loves them. I'm sure that she'd like the surprise."

Slightly Paranoid Apprentice
It is indeed a mystery if the cookies will reach their mark… Draco nodded, promising to deliver them and enjoying the thought of seeing The Amalgam happy. Draco stood up and leaned against the counter as she kept sipping at her tea

“It was very good, ma’am, I can see why they are her favorite, to be honest they’re my favorite now too. I’ve never quite had anything like it… I must admit, your shop is very beautiful as well, and your menu absolutely delicious! I’m sure you could easily become the galaxy’s favorite cafe in no time, if you even desired that”

"Just call me Kay. I have no use for titles anymore." She was supposed to be dead and had been for a time. More than likely all of her titles died with her. But it wasn't as though she needed them anymore anyways.

Kay let out a small sigh as Draco Miles Draco Miles continued, although she paired it with a small smile too. "My clientelle is selective. If you look over the menu carefully, you'd see that not everything on it is for everyone. Some items can give you powers, others can take it away. Even lives can be lost or saved if I wanted them to be. So no, I couldn't exactly afford having this place become popular. No doubt some authorities would end up at my door wanting to arrest me."

Slightly Paranoid Apprentice
“… oh it’s more medical than food… I see.”

That was an interesting take… dark side cookies to get you more in tune, like a pet owner wrapping a pill in peanut butter. Made sense to Draco, and was rather exciting! She wanted to learn more about this chef and her mystical powers

“So… do you offer classes?”

Kay-Larr

Sphaera Tea Company Owner
"Some of it is. The cookies and fudge are food, obviously. And some of the teas are as well...."

Kay raised a brow as Draco Miles Draco Miles inquires about her teaching. "Classes? ....In making tea? This isn't a school. It's a business. I had an employee once, but it didn't work out." That was an understatement. The former addict was a wonderful person, but his past caught up with him and her shop was blown up, killing her in the process. Ever since her return she had worked alone.

Slightly Paranoid Apprentice
“N-No, like… edibles, being medicinal in nature, you know?” She had heard about the mischievous WEED! and how THC oil was often used in baked goods to… well, make someone baked themselves

“Some places in the galaxy often do classes, like a little demo where you try to make a certain dish under instruction. Heard it was common for couples and all that.” She now sounded rather embarrassed, mostly because of her assumptions and her own hubris, but Ay, was good to ask questions!

Kay-Larr

Kay gave Draco Miles Draco Miles a blank expression. "All of my baked goods are edible and not for display purposes. And some of my teas are addicting with healing properties."

She shook her head at Draco's explanation of classes. "No, I'm not part of a couple. I'm on my own. And if I taught people how to make what I sell, well it'd put me out of business. And besides, not everyone has the right abilities to make some of my teas." Not everyone was a Force User, so it'd be impossible for them to make her cookies or fudge.

Slightly Paranoid Apprentice
Draco stammered trying to say that it was just an example, digging herself a deeper hole before sighing and giving up

“Yeah just uh… fuggedaboutit… cookies are really tasty, love ‘em!”

She shifted in her chair as she looked around, for bombing debris of course

“So was shop always here or did you relocate after blowing up?”

Kay nodded as that part of the conversation was dropped. Some of the ingredients in her tea were considered illegal in some jurisdictions, and it was because of them that she lost her first shop. And her life.

But now everything was quieter. She was more forgotten than ever and it wasn't something to be upset about. Kay wasn't an attention-seeker. After being a politician and High Queen for most of her life, she didn't mind this simpler stage. Her late husband had different thoughts on the matter. He wanted her to get out there and help people. Yet she had no idea of where to start. Has-beens lack any voice to be heard and they certainly were never seen.

Draco Miles Draco Miles brought her out of her thoughts with her latest question. "I merely had it rebuilt where it was. I just added some modifications to it. But all is safe. I have no enemies and no disgruntled customrrs either. So I'm not worried that history would repeat itself."

Slightly Paranoid Apprentice
“That is a fair point… if everyone thinks you aren’t alive, they wouldn’t think to check where you were… though I do wonder what else you have planned for this little shop, menu expansions? Redecoration? Or… just same old same old? If you don’t mind me asking of course! I know shopkeepers get picky on change or no change, depends on who you ask”

Draco was trying to not be offensive while still keeping up conversation, not exactly knowing how she could keep speaking to Kay-Larr Kay-Larr and have this not look like an interrogation. She’s barely even spoke on herself after all! Though bringing up topics on yourself seems most narcissistic… she’d definitely need a hand socializing

Kay just shrugged her shoulders a little as Draco Miles Draco Miles asked if she had any plans. "I've got nothing in the works. Not at the moment, anyways. I've got a lot of shipments to send out when the shop closes for the day. Other than hiring a droid or two, that's about it as far as expansion goes."

She had no ambitions for herself at the moment. Right now she just existed, working on the tasks for her shop and for her customers. Her late husband wanted her to do more for the Galaxy than what she had resigned herself to do, but she had yet to figure out just what that was or when she'd come out from hiding.

Small little tea shop with REALLY good food, seems that’s all there was to it, and while Draco did love to have conversation… she couldn’t really figure out any other topics that might interest Kay-Larr Kay-Larr nor herself. She gathered up the cookies to be delivered and gave a polite bow

“It’s been a pleasure speaking with you, ma’am, though I assume I should get to delivering these before they get cold”

She knew the food would get cold before she made it, but always good to show your best intentions!

Kay gave Draco Miles Draco Miles a small smile and nod. She was used to customers coming and going, so it didn't bother her when she was left alone. "You take care now, and give my regards to Amy!"

Once Draco was gone, Kay went back to her previous task of restocking her shelves before closing up shop for the day. It was slow and she had plenty of work to do in the warehouse in the back.
