Running Up That Hill
Hollis smiled, despite the flush of embarrassment still present on her face. However, she was thankful that Kyell was so easy to talk to or else she might be spending her night cringing at herself and replaying the conversation in her head.
Once they were ready, Hollis stacked her dishes to make them easier to collect and followed Kyell. She took a last glance over her shoulder at the mess hall – making a silent promise to return later that evening for dinner. She had a feeling she'd be spending a lot of time there – time that wasn't sleeping or training.
She had a seat on the bench and soon found the intricate Mindharp in her hands. And Kyell's hands on hers as he guided her fingers into place. Hollis often found with other instruments that her fingers just didn't want to cooperate or didn't quite stretch where they needed to reach strings or holes. She blinked and looked in wonder at the instrument. She'd been able to make a variety of notes before, but she didn't know that it qualified as music. The tranquil aura of the temple seemed to put her at ease though, or else it may have been the calm patience of her companion.
"Like this?" she asked, confirming her fingers were still in the right places. "I haven't tried using Telepathy before." Hollis wondered just what to do. "Is it just like, erm… thinking?" Thinking extra hard, maybe?
