The Black Covenant Event

Near the beginning of the month [member="Valeria Aetani"] asked for members to come together and work to make the next galactic event. A few offered to help run it after it was made or offer input to the ones working on it themselves. With the collaboration of [member="D-Man"], [member="Delila Castillon"], [member="Morna Imura"], [member="Valeria Aetani"] and [member="Ashin Varanin"] to what needs to and should be looked at. Myself and [member="Enigma"] have crafted an event that has gotten the thumbs up. Now it falls to the rest of the community to decide if they want to come to it.

Questions:

• Who is the new threat?

We worked at this, going over what can be a threat a viable threat. The 4 am answer was a joke and somehow because what everyone believed. I feel bad for this but the real answer is the Cabal. They are your new threat.

• Who the frak is the Cabal?

The Cabal is the fallen and a grouping of several groups. They have banded together to pay back the ones who wronged and cast them down from their seats of power. They are a mixture of an ancient cult, a human centric group that for 8 centuries made the jedi abandon the republic, an old church based in the rift and others. These are old societies, old groups and factions who have proven dangerous alone but couldn't face the threat, now they are together and united against their enemy.

• Where will it take place?

They aren't playing around, appearing from Firefist and moving against their age old enemy the jedi order. Ossus, Ruusan and Tython are falling under assault.

• What is the backstory?

The backstory of the event has been built off pre-republic history and several groups cast down by the jedi order. The most ancient being the grotesques origin we have built into what is coming.. An event should factor in all that came before and seek to not mirror it but present a new situation. This time it isn't a powerful god being, or the horrors of war, the machinations of powerful sith alchemists, an epic battle or the power of a rebellious AI. All that came before is honored and remembered while the sin of the past come home.

• Why should we participate?

If you don't want to don't, we made this on our free time and it won't appeal to everyone.

• Will there is prizes?

Never know, event tech should be rare, event ships worked for but talking with an idea was suggested of boons. Possibly winning on the individual level rare or restricted materials you could use for submissions with your participation as the dev thread.

• Is Circe the big bad?

No there is an NPC leader who will be at the finale over Tython, the PC's involved will be antagonists able to fight and fleet.

ACT 2 CLEANSING THE UNWORTHY: PARADISE LOST

• MINOR FACTION: Rapture

ACT 3 BATTLE OF TYTHON: THE SACRIFICE OF ANGELS

• MINOR FACTION: Scorpion

OTHER FEATURES:

• The event allows the option for smaller scale personalized threads allowing members to have their own story dealing with the cult and viral attacks. At their own pace which has been requested in a few of the what would you like threads.

• Minor faction involvement has been addressed and they can work towards the ploy either aiding the galaxy or the Cabal.

Any questions you have myself or [member="Enigma"] will try to answer them but nothing to specific. No talk of event prizes or tech as that isn't fully ours to dictate.

Oh yes. I will definitely get involved, especially since it allows for more personal threads. I could,definitely tie the next stage of Veino's story into this.

Actually [member="Anarya Drast"] as with Previous events there is an area and goal. Dark Harvest was more focused with its threads near the Protectorate, Masks of Madness were Mandalorian space. The locations the event goes to is supposed to be a mystery to the participants while figuring out the threat. On a galactic scale they are attacking dozens of worlds, sending out an army but on a focused scale they are appearing with higher up to fight and try to burn these world, snuff out this light. One of the questions IC wise that is supposed to be answered is why? Another reason is answered

this are ancient legends canon groups that have been wronged by the Republic and jedi. This is old vengeance that has been festering. The other factions getting involved is because the Cabal has attacked more worlds then just Republic. They have attacked elsewhere and made an enemy of all or possibly provided an opportunity as the sith, black suns, any minor faction have a chance to hinder and impede going so far as to working for them.

[member="Cractius Stretus"] that answer is also for you, the event is PvE/PvP and fleeting, Sith can work with, work against, work both sides or fight against both involved for their own ends.

This is the part that I like. Letting Minor Factions in on the event as well to either help or hinder. You can expect Marmora and the Order of the One to be active.

Y'know, I distinctly remember stating that if this event was going to happen in Republic space, I would like to know. I'm sure that would be the same viewpoint any other FL and their Admins would have. Considering I haven't been notified of this at all, unless someone didn't pass it along or a tag didn't work somewhere, this is the first I've heard of it. Checked the Republic forums to see if I just missed it. Nada. Could this be explained to me please?

If you don't want to participate don't and the event's actions will not factor into you. There was no mandate we were required to tell you and we could have kept it a secret until the day the first thread went up and surprised you.
