"Status report" The Deputy Overseer commanded. His hands stayed within the pockets of his overcoat as overlooked the planet before him. "Well?" He asked the Admiral as he approached him. The elder human Admiral had served the Empire far longer than Tristan, and as such was uncomfortable being commanded about by a refugee.
The irony amused him.
"The Agents of Choas fighter squadron, designated Mermaid has begun air raids on one of the Pirate Bases" Admiral Tolsen responded, nodding to the enroaching figure of Admiral Boot Gaggu, whose holographic presence outstretched his own. "Shall we begin orbital procedures?"
"I advise against that. Not yet at least. We must insure our naval superiority can and will remain superior" The Neimodian suggested, snaring slightly as he spoke.
"Unnecessary. Our fleet is larger than anything a collection of thugs could muster together"
"Wrong. Do not be naive"
"Enough" Tristan's hands slammed against the metal railing of the observation platform causing the two Admirals to silence their debate. "Engage long range missiles for bunkerbusting purposes only. Inform the commander of Mermaid Squadron of our presence and await reinforcements and further orders"
"Is that simple enough to understand?"

"As I said, I ask nothing in return, just the smile on your faces and the knowledge that you will have full stomachs tonight, and the time to come, will satisfy me. I only gave a plug to the wonderful companies that made me being here with aid to give possible. You don't have to buy anything from them. It was merely that you give them consideration when making future purchases. Please fear not, this aid is freely given. "

"You're still trying to sell proooducts to people who are staaaaaarving...."

The first sack had gone quickly--clearly, the people of this village had been desperate enough to take anything, and take it fast. the little girl who had taken the first packet had even broken into the seeds before she and her mother had left. Na'an was already on her way back to the freighter, making a note to radio up to Leigh requesting more food on the next shipment, when she heard more from the woman with the ship covered in logos. With that kind of spiel, she couldn't help quipping back in the sweetest sing-song she could manage in this damned helmet as she tapped her way back up her ramp. The notes came out in a stilted auto-tuned effect that, somehow, made it sound even more mocking than she'd planned.

Somehow, laughing at her own tone sounded far sweeter.

The next two sacks were heavier, stuffed as they were with medical equipment and dense fluid-bags of bacta. Na'an slung one over her shoulder--it was a bit large for her size, but she weathered it well-- and dragged the other behind her. She signaled to the Mando still standing by and watching both ships as she made her way back down the ramp.

"Mind giving me a hand?" she called cheerfully. "This med station won't set up itself, and I'm on a tight schedule if I don't want to get caught. These people have a lot of burn wounds that need treating."

She didn't bother explaining how she'd known that--that even beyond the obvious wounded, that just walking through the villagers was setting off sharp, too-warm tingles on the surface of her skin. Something about that heat, ghostly but so present, gave her the feeling that if she checked her skin later, she'd find at least a couple blisters that weren't there before.

Ty would arrive on the planet after some time having been breifed on the situation. He brought with him a troop compliment of 1000 EE biodroids loaded up with m-416's and the scarecrows. Using his telepathic ways to communicate to all his units he laid out the plan.

"I want 200 5 man teams out of you biodroids set up and scouring for the pirates no explosives and keep it quiet our presence is to remain unknown so the majority of the EE peacekeeping force can build a positive reputation with the locals, after taking down a pirate cell mark your location with a becon so our allies can come and make it look as if the EE forces are doing what they can to help the locals. as for scarecrows remain in your armor with the visor tinted you are to drop off relief packages of food and medical supplies then make defensive chokepoints outside of the many towns and citys. second verse same as the first remain unseen and keep all enemy forces from being seen by the locals. if you find pirates i want you 001's to gets any and all info of cells out of them by any means necessary were operating on ghosts ruling so ethical interigation rules don't apply lets get it done people."

Ty would move into the jungle by himself as the groups split up to get their tasks done carrying his rifle with him suppressed he found a high spot where he made his nest to watch out for pirate forces.

It didnt take long for the EE brand biodroids to clear out a few cells. Ty was busy observing through the group's image link to hear the pirate's dead corps hit feet from his position his killer another ee brand biodroid taking overwatch position before sneaking back into the shadows. Ty watched as the team of five Biodroids silently communicated with each other timing shots and clearing out an enemy cell quick and as efficient as clockwork. dragging a pirate cell leader out of the hideout as its only survivor as the rest of the group set up a becon to let the rest of the loyalists know this area was clear and to get the forces on making it look like they were doing their job, while the scarecrows carried the cell leader off to be interrigated.

"Ty sibo to command another pirate cell cleared out that makes three today becons up and ready for the propaganda department to move in."

As soon as the woman dodged his attack, Eskk expected a counter attack. As she stepped in, Eskk lept away using the force to carry him back and out of range of her attacks. In order to ensure his safety he sent a light force push at the empress. It would only be powerful enough to cause her to stumble back a few steps, if that.

This woman was not human, Eskk began to realize. She was supernaturally fast, supernaturally strong, and able to use these traits well. She had been warped by magic that Eskk knew nothing of. A sad attempt to augment her inherent weakness. To disguise it. However, Eskk could see it. He could smell it. The fear and powerlessness of the woman was there beneath the surface. All he had to do was draw it out.

"Do you wonder why, Empress" he asked. "Do you wonder why you are destined to fail? Why you feel the need to augment yourself beyond what you are naturally capable of? Why is it inevitable that everyone will betray you? Why in the end you will always be alone?"

The man dodged the attack and went further; as Ingrid expected, he didn't know what to do with the situation. Could have really shaken the man's attack off herself easily, but she let it stop her. For the woman, any situation was really good, if the man starts to escape, she can fight from a distance, even if they are in a close combat, melee, even then too. And for the time being, the other had no idea that she even had lightsabers. With the vibroblade she would have been happier, but those were on the ship now, not with her.

If Eskk felt any fear, it wasn't her. In Ingrid, there was no sign of fear, was never afraid of fighting, was never worried about herself, and if she did feel anything about someone, immediately suppressed it. Ingrid was a perfect master of her body and her emotions, those did not betray her. So it was more likely that Eskk felt himself, not her, if he really sensed something similar. And the man underestimated her. Did the man really think she was just overworked? How cute. But for her, it was perfect for the man to be in that faith.

And as for loneliness, the red-haired woman was never alone, maybe there were more around her than she wanted. In fact, she always found it amusing when someone tried to set up a character image of her after five minutes of acquaintance. What played personality can they do this for? Which face did Ingrid show them? Who did she let them see? Because none of it was real. Sure, the one they were seen as an Empress, the hard, cold, distant woman was real, but that was just a half truth. The other half of the woman was known to very few, including her late husband, AMCO AMCO , Telis Taharin-Zambrano Telis Taharin-Zambrano , or just Scherezade deWinter Scherezade deWinter . The woman also doubted that Tacitus knew who she really was, because the late Emperor was only looking at one side; he always looked at the half that served him, not the whole woman.

Looked at the man with cold blue eyes, then simply turned her back on him. By doing so, also shows that she is not in the least possible concern that the other may harm her or not. Rather, walked closer to the dropship to try to find out if there was anything else in it to use despite the burning fire. With the assassin the two of them did not belong to a category of strength, the man was weak and amateur compared to her. Ingrid may not have been happy with the position of the Empress, but there was a reason why the Empire accepted her as ruler and they didn't want anyone else for that position.

He kicked down the door, the surprise of the pirates inside cleaning their rifles was apparent as he shot one in the chest sending him backwards in his chair, dead before he hit the floor. Another two shots rang out and the other two pirates in the room where slumped over the table holes through the center of their chests as the man stood in the doorway adorned in black armor. He made his way inside checking the bodies of any movement with the tip of his blaster as he heard the rest of the house come alive due to the commotion. A woman came around the corner and stared at the man, his blaster aimed at her forehead.

Assessment time, she is unarmed, but she is in a house with pirates. Wife? Girlfriend? Didn't matter, she was a risk.

This train of thought happened in but an instance as another blaster shot rang through the building. He moved in further stepping over the corpse of the woman he had just slain.

9lv2K7W.png

He made his way out a window on the second floor and climbed his way up to the roof, he managed to get a good resting spot on top of the roof, kneeling down he rested against some sort of exhaust pipe. His eyes now looking around for any potential retaliation towards his hostile action. A litter of bodies covered the floor of the house already. He messed with a small gang that had hold over the territory, but he was just one man, so every move was being thought over, and he wasn't dead yet.

He heard them before he saw them, a group of pirates was making their way towards his position, one had a large rotary blaster cannon hanging from his hip as they made their way towards him. he stayed silent and waited for them to come closer to him.

It became very apparent that this was the ZU woman's first time doing any humanitarian work. Product placement was, generally, frowned upon by professional humanitarians, and it was overtly obvious how much product placement was being done by the Union. It made sense, at least to Taozi, but to these villagers? It could look as benign as the woman from the Union was making it sound, or it could look more malicious in intent.

Peoples minds were strange that way.

The "soldier" woman caught Taozi's attention, and her words caused a frown to tug at the doctor's lips. Were there more injured than expected?

"Of course. If there are any in dire need of more intense care, I will handle their injuries personally."

Setting her datapad down, Taozi walked over to the other woman and took the bag of bacta she was dragging along with relative ease.

This is what they were meant to do.

Adelle watched the ground grow closer through the viewport as the freighter Eliana Shan Eliana Shan had commissioned entered its final klick of descent. Far from the more major hubs of trades--and thus the Eternal Empire--they chose to touch down in a rather small port that served several smaller farming communities that had been hit by piracy and raiders. Helping people in need, aiding the oppressed--this is what the Jedi were meant to do, to restore balance to the Force. She settled into the co-pilot's chair while Elly brought them in.

"No problems with getting clearance?" she asked, not really interested. "Look, I'm not going to ask where you got the money for all this."

She gestured to the freighter and the myriad of supplies it contained; far more than Adelle had anticipated. "But starting today, you leave your old life behind. Think the Mandos had a saying, something like 'field of freshly fallen snow.' Your slate is clean today. Keep it that way."

Ty noted that the situation was being handled by his Biodroids flipped over onto his back from within his sniper nest "Well lets check if there's anything important..." Ty mused to himself as he closed out of tabs on his datapad. Finding that there's another Eternal Empire in the area. As he was about to contact him his datapad Volum kicked on "Now coming to a after dark holo theater Demon girls in-" Ty quickly turned off the power to the datapad looking around while being thankful for the lack of flesh on his face because otherwise he would be beat red from embarrassment. "i gotta make sure i have headphones in next time." he thought to himself before contacting the operative in the area. telepathically "Hey Thorald Magnusson Thorald Magnusson you up to meet up so we can cover more ground together? It is Ty whos asking if your wondering"

Ranulf was clearing out more and more of the enemy combatants with his rifle. Having taken a few blaster rounds to the armor he was currently pulling his knife out of the neck of a recent kill as he just sighed cleaning it off on the man's shirt before he slid it back into its holster and continued on his mission.

"Hey Ranulf you up to meet up so we can cover more ground together? It is Ty whos asking if your wondering" Ty Sibo Ty Sibo

This message came into his head he froze for a second and just stopped. He didn't know how to respond, and neither did he particularly want to... nothing against Ty but that.... isn't how he operates. Ranulf shook his head as he continued to mow down the enemy combatants.

In another house pinning a man up against the wall as he tried to stab Ranulf in the chest he took a blow to the head. He threw his weight behind him slamming the other person into the wall behind him as he punched the one he had been fighting with in the face knowcking him down before he took his knife out and took the man out before turning around to the oncoming attack from the man he had just thrown against the wall.

Na'an slipped out from in front of the bag as the Mando took hold. "Thanks."

The bag on her shoulder was full of more delicate stuff-mechanical equipment, sprayers and dosage dispensers and spring-locked cots to get the worst of the injured off their feet. Na'an edged towards the main square and picked a bare space to start unpacking it all, setting up each piece and clicking it into place of the whole.
"These people," she said as they worked, "There's a lot of them who're acting strong to keep up a front for the women and children. Men who went out after the bandits started in on the fields--not to fight, but to put out the fires. I suspect there'll be a few burnt bodies out there that'll need identification before we're done here."
The warmth in her hands prickled painfully as she fiddled with a diagnostic scanner; she used her foot to kick its base into place, and winced under her helmet as the same heat flared halfway up the leg. Na'an found herself looking up at the crowd, her eyes landing on a large bearded man sitting in the dirt only a few steps away. The little girl from before had come back, the seeds Na'an had given her replaced with a large metal canteen. She bent down, speaking briefly, and then stood to upend its contents on the man's sprawled feet and legs, where the fire had burnt away the edges of his clothes.

Even from here, even through the water and her helmet, Na'an could see the blisters bubbling their way through his flesh. And the way he grinned at the child, to hide the pain.

"They're brave people, Rabbit," she said bleakly, not even realizing she'd said the familiar nickname aloud. "It's a shame we couldn't make it in time to prevent this. Now they're just...exploitable.

I've seen this before."

Taozi trailed after the smaller woman, relieved there was more medical supplies around. Setting the bacta bag down gently in the square, she helped set up the small medical station the Rebellion was sponsoring and listened to the other woman's words. It was nothing Taozi didn't already know, or assume to be true. There were always more deaths than expected, more injured, more pain. It was why, for jobs like this, Clan Tal always brought more supplies than they knew they would need.

But it was rarely, truly enough.

"Small communities such as this are always full of men of those types. They're afraid to look weak, because it they do, those they wish to protect begin to become much more afraid. They have to be strong, even went they aren't able to be. They take it upon themselves to be pillars of strength against a burden much to heavy for them to bear.

"And it, eventually, will break them. Because
Mercy does not exist in this galaxy."

Watching as the smaller woman kicked the base of a scanner into place, Taozi's eyes narrowed as her body tensed afterwards. That was not a normal reaction, for an uninjured person. It was subtle, and definitely controlled by the other woman, but the doctor was used to looking for subtle reactions. Taozi had questions, but following the other woman's gaze led her to watch a small girl pour water on a man's legs.

"They are brave, to be readily accepting help from strangers. Sadly, that also make them foolish. Foolishness leads to, like you've said, exploitability."

Taozi placed a hand on the smaller woman's shoulder, and leaned in to whisper quietly.

"But there will always be those who are willing to do the next right thing for their community... Especially on a planet that has been failed by empires past."

Giving the smaller woman a knowing look, Taozi walked across the empty space towards the wounded man, and kneeled beside his legs. Pushing her coat back and out of the way, she smiled at the little girl, and then at the man.

"It appears you need more immediate treatment than just bacta patches will give, sir. Once I've finished treating you, you may go receive new clothes and fresh water from my Clan over there. We have plenty to give away."

Nodding towards Clan Tal's set up, Taozi then turned her attention to the man's legs. She raised her hands over them, and a pale pink glow radiated from her palms, and flowed into the man's legs.

Eskk stood back and watched the Empress walk away. The mere act enraged him. She had dismissed him as if he were nothing. Still Eskk could tell that killing her was probably beyond his current abilities.

Eskk let her walk away from him, "I feel pity for you. Your strength is artificial. It does not come from within. You have altered yourself to cover it up but on the inside you are still and will always be weak. People think I am a monster, but at least I am purely organic. You are a freak, crafted rather then born."

"You are no different than a machine. You pretend to be an empress but reallyy your existence serves others. I wanted to kill you, but now I think I should let you live. It must be horrible to be you, knowing youre never good enough. Always seeking but unable to eliminate your weakness because it comes from within. You are a truly pathetic creature."

Eskk deactivated his lightsaber and backed away, keeping his eyes on the empress. He intended to leave this fight for another time. There was no shame for Eskk in admitting her artificial strength was more than what he could naturally muster at this time. One day he would return though, to end the Empress.

Ingrid felt the man's anger and resentment at what she had done not fight her anymore. Didn't know exactly how old the man was, but he revealed enough about his character that he wasn't worthy to be a soldier in the Army of the Eternal Empire, especially not an officer. This behavior in the military is unacceptable and unworthy. Ingrid wouldn't let go of her emotions; she was logical and cold. It symbolized exactly what the Eternal Empire expected of its soldiers. This is what Tacitus said about her, that she is the perfect example for all Imperials; strong and cold.

Would have preferred to have laughed at the man's words, despite her grief, how weak and pathetic they were. It was not a play, the brittleness, the coldness; unplanned thing. She inherited this from her father. Finally stopped and turned to the major, picked up at the military position with ease, small straddle, hands behind her back. Her radiance still suggested determination and strength.

"It also shows why you are doing your job as poorly as you do. One, you can’t control your emotions, on the other hand, you have time for everything else, just not to change yourself. You are the shame of the Eternal Empire's army with your behaviour and your inability to control your emotions."

Said coldly and militarily. Didn't react to the other part at all, for it was only guessing and stupidity, which stemmed from the man's ignorance. Yes, Ingrid was a maximalist and never satisfied with herself so she kept getting better and was always learning a new thing. Never stopped in any field of development, which is why she trained and studied for several hours a day. This was necessary and she was happy to do so.

"Thank you for the compliment! Really flattering! And unlike you, I’m at least trying to take action against my own alleged weakness. While you? Just look at it yourself… not a word is worth wasting on what I see…" said, still without any mockery, in a cold voice.

OOC: By the way, it’s not common knowledge that Ingrid isn’t human, the fact that she has a genetically improved shape-shifting is conceivable from her agent past, but nothing else is known. Only 4 PCs know about this, Adrian, Telis, Onrai and Zachariel. (of which Adrian is already dead). So please don't write something your character can't know about. It ruins the game.

Nodding towards Clan Tal's set up, Taozi then turned her attention to the man's legs. She raised her hands over them, and a pale pink glow radiated from her palms, and flowed into the man's legs.

The last component of the scanner clicked into place in time for Na'an to catch the Mando's trick. Although, even if she hadn't finished the work, she would have known what that trick was. She stilled, letting the sensation swimming over her calves; it was like....like warm milk. Like a dipping her feet into warm milk, thick and calming, reducing the burning in the soles of her feet to only a faint prickle. She turned, and the man on the ground's face had slipped into a relief only those too used to hiding their pain could show.

Vidalu Na'an had never been a healer before coming to the Unknown Regions. Her gifts had been...considerably more martial. But as she turned, the goggle eyes of her helmet fixed on the Mando's back, she felt a pull that was, with each passing day, becoming more familiar. Whatever the green planet was doing to her, was opening her up to the kind of agony the galaxy inflicted on these people on a whim. The kind of agony the Empire felt no need to recognize as its own. The kind of agony that needed healing.

So it didn't really matter if it wasn't her gift from the start, was it?

A few steps put Na'an standing next to the Mando--the Rabbit, she remembered, although when had they recognized each other? No matter. She knelt and pushed the Ultranaut helmet back so she could watch the pulse of pink light streaming over the man's blisters with her own eye. She hadn't bothered putting on an eyepatch under the helmet; she dimly registered the gasp of the little girl with the canteen as she turned her wasted, scarred socket away.
"I'd like to learn how to do that," she said simply. "if you don't mind. And I'd like to offer something of my own in exchange for the lesson."

As she spoke, the taste of old tea lingered on her tongue. A green taste.

Eskk stared at Ingrid from across the distance. He knew he wouldnt be able to beat her now. She was too modified.

Eskk reached up to his ear, ""activate my tracking device and bring the ship to me." Eskk turned away from Ingrid and began to sprint in the opposite direction. He didnt know if the freak would follow or not, but it didnt matter.

Soon he would be free of her grasp. One day, however, Eskk would return to finish what he started.

OOC You cant emphasize your non human abilities in a fight and expect that Eskk cant discern that youre not human. For example in one post you grew claws out of your hand and tried to swipe me with them. Eskk doesnt know what you are but hes seen enough to know youre not human. Dont play an overpowered character it makes the game less fun.

"Trust me, I get it. Terrible idea. Probably gonna get me executed. But I'm not just going to look away." There was an annoyed drone from R6 as The Bastion flew low over the ground. The reports of a lost dropship was across all channels. Whatever fell was important, and the imperials wanted to know where it was. For Kahlil, that just meant he needed to get there first. Grant it, the fire that was the dropship was easy enough to find.

And with his droid scanning all frequencies for anything close by, hearing Eskk Jannik's request for exfil came as quite the surprise. And dread. What brought that abomination here? Worse, who was dead? "Scan for life." The droid didn't backtalk this time, immediately scanning for any source of heat or movement. Plenty of animals, and one life signal? No, two. One fleeing. Eskk? Likely. The other not.

He nearly laughed when he saw who it actually was that was left on the ground. His ship lowered close by, ramp already opening as the tall Jedi stepped down.

"Empress Ingrid L'lerim Ingrid L'lerim . You look like you could use a ride."

The red-haired woman sighed. Does the man really think that after what he has done the woman will let him just leave? In fact, she thought that neither now nor later would he cause trouble for anyone or anything; probably someone will catch him soon anyway. But no, not in realspace, not in the material world. Killing him would have been too humiliating for the woman. Instead, she teaches the man a lesson he will never forget. Not to mention that from now on he can run and run all his life. Provided he succeeds and survives.

It was for this reason that when the man began to sprint, Ingrid reached out to the Force to use the Force to accelerate herself to make sprinting even faster. If all that might not have been enough, because for some reason the Anzati would have been faster than him, even then the woman had tricks. If sprinting were not enough, then she would reach into the Force again and choose to teleport. Right in front of the man. Seeing what speed he was running, it wasn’t hard to calculate in an instant where he was going to arrive at the moment of teleportation.

If she has it, she tries to teleport right in front of the man to collide. She doesn’t intend to dodge this and tries to get close enough that the man won’t even have a chance to avoid the collision. But that was exactly the woman's plan at the moment. If physical contact is made here (after a sprint or teleportation) - this will cost the process the least energy - she will teleport again. But this time, not alone, she also takes the man with her into the Netherworld.

While performing her actions a new ship appeared nearby, but she no longer had time to pay attention to the Zambrano that appeared. Heard his words, but she had already begun the process, she did not have time to react him…

//OOC: If the teleportation succeeds because Eskk agrees; Kahlil, feel free to write that it affected you too and come with us to the Nether.//

The look of relief on the man's face was truly all the reward Taozi needed. Taozi herself had never felt what it was like to be healed with the Force, but she could tell, that at the very least, it was soothing to the recipient. She wondered what it really felt like. Did it vary from user to user what relief for the wounded felt? Did it feel like a bacta patch? Or more like a soothing balm?

Glancing over to the Rebel woman, Taozi hummed. She looked familiar, and that voice of hers... The woman in gold, perhaps?

"I don't mind teaching you, and you need not offer me anything in exchange if you're who I think you are. Granted, I'm not sure you can truthfully offer me what I truly want."

As Taozi continued to heal the man, her smile turned somber, as she thought of her kidnapped son. She turned her gaze to the little girl, and in a soft voice spoke to her.

"You can go get more water from my Clan members little one. Why don't you bring back two packs, one for you, and one for him?"
