The Buy In

Enroute to Fondor

Getting the call was rather curious. Then again, when the call came in at first Danger wasn't sure if it was actually true. However, the more that the conversation took hold, the more that the Queen of Trade began to believe it. The offer had piqued her interest. It wasn't everyday that the Prex of a company offered Danger the ability to buy them out.

A private military company at that.

Seated comfortably in her cabin of her shuttle, Danger brought out her datapad. There were financials to go over. Product and inventory. [member="Alric Kuhn"] would accompany her, the old fool unwilling to travel far from her now a days. Not that Danger would mind. Normally, she left such transactions to Saffron or Aeri. This however, would require a personal touch.

His suite felt somewhat tighter than it usually did, though he wasn't entirely sure why.

It could be that he was gaining weight, though that was a thought somewhat abhorred. Danger had him eating more and more healthy as of late, fearing that the condition of his heart would mean he'd leave this life before her...or she just enjoyed the faces he made when she placed nothing but egg whites in front of him for breakfast. Either way he was pretty sure it wasn't weight gain, mostly because the food he ate wasn't the sort that made you gain any weight at all.

Eventually he decided that it was probably just the way that he was sitting, and as such he shifted slightly in his place on the acceleration couch and gently bumped his wife a few times as he did so. She was of course absorbed in her datapad, reading one thing or another about the sale that was about to happen. "You know if you stare at those things for too long your eyes go square."

Alric commented as he reached down and picked up a small cup of tea that was sitting on the table.

"I heard that paying attention to your husband helps though." The last words were muttered into the cup.

[member="Alric Kuhn"]

In the same breath, Alric made his quip, Danger withdrew her spectacles from her purse. They were protected by a fine bryak wood case, preventing them from being accidentally scratched or broken in a shuffle. One might be surprised to see the buxom woman wearing spectacles, but she'd been wearing them a long while now whenever she had to read documents up close.

"Is that right?" she'd coo, giving a harrumph along with an arched brow. A hand came down to nudge at his thigh, as if saying she wasn't buying any of it. " I reckon that would do quite the opposite instead." green eyes would lock upon her beloved with a knowing expression. If anything, Alric did his best to try and distract her from work and have her put it to the side. Paying attention to him would do anything but give her the focus she required to look over the documents sent over to her by Prex Aeron Kreelan.

"You ain't fooling nobody there Mistah Kuhn," she sang, adjusting her glasses to set them right over her nose. Glancing back down, the woman gave a slide of her forefinger over the datascreen and began to read. At the top were the words 'Omega Pyre'. Followed by that was a list of the subsequent subsidies the company had as assets.

"I'm still wondering just how valid this offer is." Danger would murmur under her breath, saying it aloud as if to invite her husband to reply with his own musings.

Alric didn't say anything about Danger's comments, instead just offered her a small knowing smile.

He did often try to get her attention, even annoy her, but that was mostly because she worked too much. He had tried hard to get her to focus her attention elsewhere, and it had worked in small leaps and bounds. He couldn't really be all that upset about her being particularly driven regarding this, after all Omega Pyre was a name that many people in the galaxy still remembered. Any offer to buy a company like that? Well it was enough to make most peoples jaws drop.

"Well, it probably has to do with the attack." Alric said as he shifted on the sofa once more and placed his cup of tea back down on the table. There was a slight shutter as the shuttle began it's departure from Hyperspace. It would still take them some time to sift through the traffic around Fondor, but they would be there soon.

"Maybe they see something on the Horizon." The Tetan commented. "The Alliance was attacked from three sides."

He'd more than heard about it of course. Vanir had several facilities dotted throughout pretty much every faction that had been involved in the conflict, though of course it was hardly on par with ATC. He shrugged slightly and half pulled himself onto the couch, dragging his left leg under himself so that he could turn to face Danger and still sit comfortably. He smiled at her for a moment, a small look of admiration floating across his features as he watched his wife.

Alric reached out and gently placed a hand on Danger's thigh, stroking his thumb over the cloth of her dress. "It's possible they think they'll be safer under the umbrella of ATC than they would be under the Alliance."

That was a statement in it of itself.

[member="Alric Kuhn"]

"Perhaps." Danger began, murmuring low while she read over the encrypted files. Omega Pyre was had been a household name years back. It had been tied to a government that had long since folded over. In those days Danger conducted business with the first Lady Protector and the subsequent Lord Protectors after. Cater, Alcori, HK-36 -- Even that brute of Potteiger.

"Although I wonder if it has to do with more." As she reviewed the documents she noticed that while the current Prex was Aeron Kreelan, the entire company was still under the name of the former Lady Protector Cira.

"Cira is still considered the owner." green eyes went flicking up towards Alric. "I thought she was dead." Normally, such things would have reverted to the next in line, but that didn't seem to be the case here.

"Curious."

"The creepy dreads lady?" Alric asked, acutely aware that such a title would likely be looked down upon by the woman herself.

It was however the only way that Alric really knew of her, when Cira had been taken by the One Sith and turned into something else. He'd not been in charge of Titan Industries at the time of course, he'd still been at the university on Empress Teta, but it was one of the many files that he'd eventually gone over during his tenure as CEO.

He assumed Danger would know what he was talking about, especially given that she controlled the remnants of what was now Titan.

"Weird." He said as he slowly began to pull himself closer to Danger, almost sneaking. "Maybe she wanted everyone to think she was."

A shrug rolled over his shoulder. "Powerful people like to disappear."

[member="Alric Kuhn"]

"The who?" in actuality, that hadn't been known to Mrs. Arceneau. Mainly because what had come after the supposed death of the former Lady Protector was not common knowledge. For all Danger knew, Cira was dead.

"Are you suggesting she isn't dead?" came an arch of her brow. "I wouldn't be surprised if there was an estate tending to this. However, they've been working mainly with the Galactic Alliance. I've hired them on for a few defense contracts over the years." If she bought Omega Pyre, then that meant she could focus them to be the primary security force for her companies.

"They have high benefits packages." she added after. They paid at least ten percent above market rate. Her lips drew thin. She wasn't sure if she enjoyed that prospect.

"Oh." Alric suddenly stopped his creeping advance. "I misunderstood you my darling."

The Tetan frowned for a moment, considering what he knew and didn't know about the former Lady Protector. He knew of the Yuuzhan Vong Developments, but...not actually much more than that. He had figured Danger was saying she was still alive, but perhaps her death had been found somewhere in the times of the One Sith? He realized he actually had no idea, and decided it was probably best to not address it anymore, lest he embarrass himself further.

Instead he returned his attention back to Danger, and his slow sneaking approach to her side. "Is it as good as Saeva's?"

Alric asked as his arm slowly slid behind Danger on the cushions.

"Because if they are." A bit of mirth touched his voice. "Don't tell Kiran."

[member="Alric Kuhn"]

A small chuckle came bubbling up the Trade Queen's chest. That commentary prompted the woman to look over the tops of her spectacles over to Alric. As the warmth of his arms went wrapping around her, she added with notable amusement, "Oh why? Will he take it to heart?"

Kiran had stepped in to take over the running of Saeva as a private military contractor. Security work, defense, really anything that a customer could pay for. Danger wasn't ignorant that a few of those jobs might be of the sort she would not approve of, but she didn't go looking around to figure out what they were. If Kiran's jobs ever ended up clashing or resulting with placing any of her assets or interests in danger, he would be the first to hear from Danger.

"Does this mean he'll provide a comparable rate to Omega Pyre?" another chuckle and she gave a sigh, leaning against Alric. Bringing the pad up, Danger went through the details. First off, Omega Pyre as a whole.

"Maybe." Alric said as he pulled Danger closer, latching his arms around her and snuggling against her.

It was nice to see Danger like this.

Though he did hate that she felt compelled to work at almost all times, it was here that she was really in her element. The galactic game of corporations, buying assets, dividing companies, building them, it was something Danger absolutely excelled at. Alric had a knack for it as well, but he was always more...focused. Danger could spread her attention to a hundred different places and still function, him? He had to make sure one thing and one thing alone was on track.

Vanir was big, it produced some of the most unique technologies in the galaxy, but ATC? That rivaled most major governments.

"I don't think he's worried about it." Alric let out a yawn. "Oh."

He smiled. "Does this mean you can get one of their uniforms?"

[member="Alric Kuhn"]

"Is that really where your mind goes to, Mistah Kuhn?" Danger shot back, her shoulders shaking in her amusement. Oh she knew exactly why he brought it up. In response, she gave him a nudge with her elbow against his chest again.

"I might be able to see just what else comes along with the purchase." with a small click of her tongue, Danger shook her head in mild humor. A swipe of her finger drew more information on the company.

OmegaPyrE Services (OS) is a Private Military Security Company or PMSC that covers such services and expertise typically found in governmental military or police forces, but on a smaller scale. OS specializes on employment by private firms or individuals to provide specialized expertise or services in a variety of positions, such as troopers or pilots for hire, bodyguards, enforcers, fugitive recovery (bounty hunting a la US Marshals style ) and even provide services to train or supplement official armed forces in service of governments. They worked in other military assignments as well, for example in those involving testing the equipment, liberating abducted people or retrieving, transporting and protecting valuable goods or items. Although these men and women are commonly known as mercenaries, they will be known as Private Military and Security Contractors (PMSCs), in order to avoid the negative stigma often associated with mercenaries.

At its essence, OmegaPyrE offers neutral legal military and security services to fulfill the needs of the everyday citizen, businesses, governments, and even to the galaxy’s top holo-vid actress. Any bounty hunters, slicers, ex-soldiers, and any wishing an independent position in such venues employment within the legal realms of galactic society may apply. For those seeking the more seedier means of employment (IE assassination, slave catchers, smuggling, drug dealing etc) in The Criminal Underworld, this is not for you ~ We recommend you turn to the
Exchange

Divisions

Security Services: This section specializes in meeting the needs of the industry's most diverse client base, providing services that includes: bodyguards, armed security, transportation services, and armed escort services.
Fugitive Recovery Division: This section deals with the legal contracts of governing agencies, private companies, and civilian affairs. Commonly known as bounty hunters, the employees of OmegaPyrE's FR Division are known as Fugitive Recovery Agents. They are individuals who captures fugitives ("hunting") for a monetary reward ("bounty"), for apprehending by law, if such laws exist.
Industry and trade -- At its conception, Cira the former Prex of the Omega Pyre (Now Protectorate) has seen many profitable investments during her tenure, the bulk of which originated in the monopoly of Bacta with her ownership and complete corporate ruling under Omega Pyre over Thyferra, Abregado-Rae, Fondor and it's shipyards, and Corellia. The sale and trade of such a valuable and necessary resource to the growing Galactic Trade Market has given it the appropriate income to start acquiring and investing in other venues.

Trade agreements with planetary holdings upon the expansion of the Pyre's influence have included numerous shares of the planetary businesses bought by the Pyre and overseen by their Representatives. Once the government of the Protectorate came into play, the Pyre consolidated all of its holdings under the name of Omega Star Corp, under the ownership of Cira, who had left her position as Prex to take on the mantle of the Lady Protector.

Separation of the PMC and the Government entity had always been a stringent line enforced. Once the distinction of the government and that of the PMC was made, it had never faltered. One was a privately owned company, the other the government of the Protectorate.

None the less, Omega Star Corp was used to funnel cash flow and contracts to the Pyre and used to provide tech to Protectorate itself. There were several company representatives that would report to Praetors, who then submit the financials and dividend reports to the Councillors of the sector, who then provide the information to the Lady Protector. This has now expanded to Dahomey, Malastare, Belsavis, and Bespin, culminating in vast trade markets along the Rimma Trade Route, Corellian Trade Spine, Hydian Way, Sanctuary Pipeline, and broadening more recently in the Corellian Run.

These products have seen major export in not only the Colonies, but the Expansion region, Mid-Rim, Outer rim, and more recently, the Wild and Unknown Regions, connecting previously isolated worlds with consumer goods and products for the betterment of the standard of life.

He smiled slightly as he felt the nudge of her elbow in his side. His arms were tightly wrapped around her so she couldn't really do much damage, but he let out a muffled 'oof' as if her small strike had actually hurt more than it had.

It was something he had often done with Myra when she was younger, mostly because her expression of abject horror at the thought that she might have harmed him had always been particularly amusing. Of course he had always used the opportunity of her shock to scoop her up into the air and run around, but those days were gone now too. His girls had all grown faster than he had ever expected, a fact that secretly depressed him more than a little bit.

"It's not all about the money you know." He told Danger as he leaned in and kissed her neck, glancing over her shoulder to read the datapad.

Omega Pyre was an impressive corporation, one of the oldest since the Gulag Plague.

"Sometimes you have to look at the fringe benefits." He said. "My wife's behind in a little military uniform being one of them."

[member="Alric Kuhn"]

"Is that all you think about Mistah Kuhn?" Danger managed to coo out with a wry twist of her lips. "The perks?" her head would turn to face him, amusement glinting in her green eyes. Another chuckle and the woman bent down to give him a brief kiss on his lips.

"We'll see what the negotiations bring." she added, not about to take that off the table just yet so as to humor him. Returning back to her datapad, Danger gave another skim.

"They have several subsidiaries. Star Caf, Omega Pharmaceuticals, Fondor Textiles, Star Co, Omega Tech Industries.... and the bulk of the shipyards at Fondor." that last one was a doozy. It meant something. They were willing to hand over their shipbuilding capabilities...

"It includes all current designs and technology."

I wanted to ask if it was possible to buy the old schematics of ships and such you made for Omega Pyre
I'm basically consolidating stuff and handing it to danger
Ayden Cater - Last Tuesday at 8:34 PM
Oh, yeah. Since that stuff was built at the request of OmegaPyre/Omega Protectorate, which legally are the same entity after the dissolution of the latter
As far as I'm aware of and concerned, those blueprints and rights of construction reside with OP.
Illie - Last Tuesday at 8:36 PM
Awesome. I'm gonna be making a thread for the sale of it over to Danger. Do you mind if i could quote you for when I do the update?
I'm not going to be doing anything crazy with Omega Pyre under Danger save continue with her standard neutrality
Ayden Cater - Last Tuesday at 8:36 PM
Of course
And I love the idea of the ships being used by Danger for neutral protection and conflict resolution.

"I'm retired." Alric reminded her with a gentle kiss onto the top of her head. "I have lots of time to think about all sorts of things."

Really he had nothing but time. With Myra growing up now and both Rose and Lily far out of the house he had nothing to do. He'd tried a few hobbies, even attempted to pick up some video games, but they didn't really keep his attention for long. Most of the time he just moved from hobby to hobby, trying something for a little while before eventually giving it up and moving on to something else. "I can't really help that my wife has maintained her stunning.."

He trailed off as he kissed her cheek again. "Beautiful..."

Alric was really laying it on thick.

"Gorgeous..." Another kiss. "Looks."

In truth, what she said about Omega Pyre was actually quite fascinating. The Corporation was one of the largest and without question most powerful in the entire galaxy, but Alric had chosen to take on the roll of the man that kept Danger grounded. She didn't really need it, but he wanted her to remember that there was more to life than just business. "Though I guess you could forget all about that with all those pretty ship designs."

[member="Alric Kuhn"]

"Are you trying to distract me from reading this?" Danger would coo out, the corner of her mouth curling up with a half of a smirk. Not that she wasn't already aware of the answer. Of course, he was. Danger felt a trail of more kisses and the soft rasp of Alric's beard against her jawline. Another little nudge of her elbow against his ribs again. Not enough to hurt, but just a tap to nudge.

"First is StarCaf," she began, bringing the datapad up to inspect. A finger came up to push her spectacles up her nose. They did have a tendency to drift. Quality Vine-Coffee, High-quality stimcaf products, pastries, and a cult stimcaf culture. Main headquarters is on Belsavis, but they have spread distribution and production to other locations across the Hydian Way and Corellian Trade spide. Vine-Coffee and Vine silk are their main products along with 1, 800,000 across 62 plants... maybe more."

StarCaf was a well known brand across the galaxy. It would be good to bring the luxurious vine-coffee and vine silk into their own production. "Perhaps PharmaTech botanicals might be able to make something of that. We already have a PharmaTech biodome on Belsavis."

Alric Kuhn

[member="Danger Arceneau"]

"Me?" He sounded incredulous. "Never."

For a second Alric looked around, the nudge hitting him in the ribs and another small oof blurting from his lips. He couldn't help but smile though. There was a joy in her voice even as she rebuked him, and he could tell what he was saying her was at least amusing her. That was a good thing, as long as he didn't push it to far. This was a business trip after all, and they had come here primarily for Danger to do her job. He had to toe the line so she didn't actually become mad at him, or annoyed. "It's not my fault you're so sexy when you talk all business."

He kissed her cheek and then glanced at the datapad.

"We could use the Farm too." He suggested. "A lot of our land is plains right now."

Alric knew this because he'd had a survey done before he'd bought the place. "Caf grown right on Kuhn Farm, a luxury product for those that normally can't afford it."

[member="Alric Kuhn"]

"Are you suggesting you want to become a true farmer now?" Danger's body gave an amused shudder, shoulder shaking in her growing mirth. An auburn brow rose high, vibrant green eyes peering from the tops of her spectacles.

"What will you do? Walk the fields and manage them yourself?" it was a rather amusing thought, but Alric could very well do it if he had it in his mind to try it. Or prove her wrong. He was much like her when it came to challenges.

"Vine silk as well? " now that would be a right fortune growing in their land. " Well, beyond that there is also Omega Pharmaceuticals. We already have our own Kolto and Bacta facilities... but this would greatly expand it. Especially on Thyferra. " One of the major bacta-producing and distributing companies in the Galaxy. It is a Protectorate controlled company based on Thyferra. Thyferra is the source of the majority of the bacta in the galaxy, produced under Omega Pharmaceuticals, and the source of the strongest bacta.

Such high-quality product was generally not exported; if it was, it was sold at higher prices, although recent competitors like Silk Holdings have managed to level out the price. Export-quality bacta was, typically, nowhere near as effective, meaning that more grievous injuries required longer exposure in order to be properly treated and healed.

Alric Kuhn

[member="Danger Arceneau"]

"Are you doubting me?" Alric said suddenly, mock affront within his tone. He had always had a gift for growing companies, just like Danger did. He made it a point to focus on certain things instead of branching out, but he was fairly certain that farming wasn't any harder than growing a corporation. Of course he couldn't walk around and do any of the planting or the harvesting, he was getting a tad old for that, but he could have droids do it.

He shifted slightly behind Danger, pulling her up with him so he sat a bit more straight.

"I'll have you know, Mrs. Arceneau-Kuhn." He smirked at the name drop. "I happen to be excellent at nearly everything I put my mind to."

That was absolutely not true and they both knew it. Alric had attempted a number of hobbies and had found that he wasn't all that great at everything. There had been quite a few disasters back at the Farm, especially the time he had tried to make his own candles...though he'd sworn Danger to secrecy on that because of what had happened. "I bet I could grow the best Caf in the galaxy."

He mused on that for a few more seconds then thought about what she said last.

Thyferra, that planet was in a bad way.

"Wonder if we could produce more Aspha." The suggestion came almost as an after thought. Thyferra, Omega Pyre would have the facilities that they could adapt, and Aspha was very lucrative. Not to mention how much it could help.

[member="Alric Kuhn"]

"I would never doubt you," although Danger said it in a manner that suggested she totally knew she was egging him on. It amused her as much as it did him, these little games that they played together. A marriage was built on being able to tease each other and laugh. Something that she hadn't been able to do for a long time over a decade ago. To think they were able to here.

" The best caf in the galaxy?" an auburn brow rose as if in challenge. Perhaps, even a dare.

"Alright, " she began, lifting her gaze from her datapad to meet the bright blue of Alric's eyes. "How about we do a little wager hmm? " there was still more to go over with Omega Pyre, but a little side conversation wouldn't hurt. They would be meeting directly with the Prex at Fondor and that was about a hour out anyways.

"See if you can beat Korribean coffee?"

Alric Kuhn

Handsome K'lor'slug
[member="Danger Arceneau"]

He smiled for a second.

"Wager, huh?" He did have a supreme amount of confidence in himself when it came to most things. He was able to raise up corporations, design starships, raise three beautiful and intelligent daughters. Next to that he thought that growing a few hundred acres worth of coffee wouldn't be all that difficult. The land they had was perfect for it, at least in the southern reaches, and he had plenty of time to tend to everything.

Especially given that Danger would likely get more busy now that she had this acquisition on her table. No matter what she said it would take time to properly integrate and put Omega Pyre in it's proper place. A corporation this huge wasn't easy to handle, even for someone like his wife.

"What exactly would be the terms of this wager?" Alric said as he gently pulled her closer. "Miss Arceneau-Kuhn?"

He used the name again, grinning like an old fool on free liquor day.
