Catalys Maijora
Executor
As the Primordial March continued a lone Deliverance-class Heavy Cruiser found itself in the thick of the Chiloon Rift. A Nebula said to contain amongst the largest and most bountiful asteroid belts in the galaxy.
Deliverance drifted through the Rift in the thick of a Nebula cloud. Sensors and feed were disrupted as the starship relied primarily on its visuals to navigate the hazardous space. On board the command deck an officer looked through the viewport.
"Executor, sir .We're receiving ... A distress signal?", one of the deck officers was confused when he noticed the feedback. A scrambled distress signal was picked up by the crew of the Deliverance.
"Play the message.", the Executor responded; his eyes still gazed into the Nebula.
On the command deck's holo projector came up the visual S.O.S. feed. Several miners were in view.
"This is *garble* of the -- *garble* -- we came under at--uggh-err-aah!", the screams were the last thing heard as the image distorted and faded.
"That's the end of transmission. Everything else after that is... It's nothing.", the officer said grimly on the subject.
The executor rubbed his brows and began to wonder on that. Of course with all the phenomena going around it could be anything... Pirates, perhaps another faction? No. There was no one else close enough to respond.
"Ignore it, we're here to secure the region not --", the Executor was cut off.
The starship shook violently as some of the navigation instruments shorted out, the sparks electrocuted and killed a few of the crew. The incident lasted only a few meager seconds but the results were catastrophic. All systems temporarily shut off and engineering sent a message to the deck.
"We've lost the main engines.", the message was brief but straightforward.
With the engines gone the ship slowly drifted towards the unknown. A few hours passed and the crew still was unable to get the engines back online and no one could seem to figure out what had happened. Was it an electrical storm? Perhaps a pirate attack? No one knew exactly but the damage was severe, as if they were looking for a miracle the Deliverance exited the thick of the Nebula and found itself face to face with a large facility. There were no ships docked by the looks and it seemed abandoned. By the size of it there was no doubt it was a service station for mining ships and large freighters used to haul goods from the station to the rest of the galaxy.
"Get my Catalys.", the Executor said.
Walking through the doors and onto the command deck was the Veteran agent and one of Anja's enforcers. "You called?", truthfully it was less of a question on why but on what he was being asked to do; the soldier was eager to get into action. He didn't much like traveling on a ship with no aim.
"Take one of the dropships and a small crew, investigate that station; see what you can find. Maybe we could find spare parts to fix the engines...", the Executor wondered.
"As you command.", Catalys responded. With that he turned around and began to set out. Meanwhile the Deliverance managed to send out a distress call -- hopefully they'll have reinforcements soon. The ship's scanners picked up small blips now and then waiting on the outskirts of the Nebula. Whoever they were, one thing was certain: The Deliverance was not alone.
