The Chiloon Saints (Primeval Dominion of Chiloon Rift)

The frigate was not more velocious, of course, merely closer. Conjointly, the tractor beams executed a rather clamorous role, but rather than trading malapropos obiter dictums let the eye turn to the bridge of the Pariah II, where Katya Shorn seemed rather vexed at the sudden dispersal of life forms from the shuttle. The teenage heir to the Thronebreaker briefly contemplated firing on the hangar bay and killing all of them. Fortuitously for the former crew of the Theta, Katya's comms hail to the Deliverance was now online.

The girl dispelled the atramentous thoughts gathering like lurid storms in her head. Such impulses were sadly a frequent occurrence, but that was the price of a legacy. Not that she'd ever asked to be one.

"Attention Primeval vessels, this is Captain Shorn of the Pariah. What are your intentions here?"

Objective: Secure Space Station
Location: Chiloon Rift
NPC: Kieran "Tag" Merrik
Allies: [member="Catalys Maijora"]
The sounds were drawing closer and closer. Whatever was coming could potentially trap them inside this room, effectively turning it into their tomb. So without waiting for that to happen, she charged through the door into the hallway and saw a walking horror shambling down the hallway toward her. It might have been human once, but all signs of it was nearly gone except for its left arm and parts of it's face. The rest of it's makeup was twisted and mangled. She noticed its feet had been reduced to some sort of mass of wet flesh, hence the wet sounds they were hearing. The abomination opened up it's mouth, revealing crooked and broken teeth, and let out a watery sounding howl.

Tag skidded into the hallway next to her, raising his blaster rifle at the thing. "What the hell is that?" Not waiting for the creature to attack, she charged the thing keeping her eyes on it's appendages and with a sweep of her yellow blade cut the the thing in half. With a sickening wet thud, the creature thing crashed to the floor. But it wasn't dead. The top half tried to reach for her and Tag placed a well aimed shot into what passed for it's head, killing the thing. They both watched, stunned, as the flesh of the monstrosity melted into a pool of black and green liquid.

"I hate to say it, CJ," Tag said with eyes transfixed on the liquid, "But if there are more of these things aboard the station we need to hunt them down and kill them. If they were to escape the station." He fell silent when they heard more gurgling howls in the distance. They looked at each other with an unsaid understanding of what they most do. Slowly they moved toward the sounds.

Catalys turned his head towards where the body laid naked on the table. It had been stripped clean but by his own deduction; it seemed this was done after he had already died, not at the result of medical procedure. It was clear now what was going on. Something caused the survivors to go crazy and likely exhibit uninhibited violent outbursts, acts of cannibalism, and perhaps other more sinister acts. Only a few things came to mind that would suggest a cause. Biological weapons? Dehydration? Perhaps something else entirely? The questions came many but answers were so few.

The agent walked slowly over to the body, and examined it in closer detail. Based on what's remaining it looked to have been a human male; likely one of the miners based on the dust left on pieces of cloth.

"This is Catalys Maijora: New orders, eliminate anyone who isn't one of us.", he sent over his short-range intercom. There was no room for investigation of what happened. It wasn't their interest or responsibility. With that said he tuned around suddenly as more footsteps were heard followed by heavy breathing. Brandishing his weapon he looked over to [member="Marth "], "Get ready.", he muttered.

[member="Ciara Jevnaker"] [member="Darth Legion"]

Marth blinked at the sight. The fact that the markings seemed human was.. Disturbing, in the least. He took in a deep breath and looked around, the room was dark and messy, blood covering the naked body. He turned his head away from the corpse, heaving a sigh. The Umbaran blinked slowly at the new orders, giving a small nod to [member="Catalys Maijora"]. He carried on chewing the inside of his mouth, more vigorously now. He then stopped, froze, at the sound of heavy breathing. Bringing the barrel of his weapon up, Marth closed one eye and aimed through the sight, pointing the barrel into the empty doorway, anticipating what was to come, "Affirmative."

"What are you damn intentions of tractoring a vessel without signaling the ship in advance?" Kitsune relayed to the ship. She thought to herself, And also, with the added fact, the ship happened to be closer to her shuttle. Suspicious. It must be the Force! MAGICKS! She rolled her eyes at the mere physics-defying characteristics in the galaxy. Not that science was a valid method of operation for most.

She paused for a moment and continued into the bowels of the station. What exactly was here? Why was she here again? Who in the hell was this random ship?

She shrugged off the questions, knowing that she would never get an answer.

MHMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM, she thought to herself in agreement.

"Officer of the Primeval, you've ranged far from your fold. This is neutral territory. My territory. I protect the miners here, so I'll ask you once again, what are your intentions here?"

Katya muted her comms briefly and turned to Jan. "Drop the tractor beams on that Theta, let it drift in space. They can't get back to it now anyway. Helm, maneuver us behind that Deliverance-class. It hasn't moved yet, I'm betting its engines are offline. Put us behind them and they won't be able to turn their big guns on us."

She took a deep breath, smiled tightly, and unmuted her comms, still waiting on the Primeval Officer's reply. Obviously they weren't happy with being tractor beamed, but these hungry wolves had strayed too far from their pack and instead of finding supple flesh they'd found horns. Who could blame them for being a little... off-put?

The smile turned to a smirk.

The situation wasn't that terrible... Catalys has been through worse in the past but still, cannibalism? Of all things that came as a result of the mass disappearances, he had to wonder how much of this was caused by it. Perhaps this part of the galaxy was always somewhat on the crazy side of things. The source of the breathing revealed itself as a blood-covered woman; it was clear she had been attacked. stumbling towards the agent she latched onto his leg and began pleading in a language he didn't understand. The one thing that made any sense was the fear in the woman's eyes.

Was this it?, he thought. The barrel of his gun slowly positioned itself over her forehead, the action was subconscious.

Bang

The body fell limp; her lifeless head rested against his foot as cardinal liquid covered the armour of the boot. Pulling away, he left her and turned back to [member=Marth]

"The fear in her eyes... Don't get bit, I think it might be contagious; I saw reality fade.", he strutted through the door -- the direction they came in.

Mikkel Markov

Exemplar of the Bleeding Sun
Another infected came around the corner and charged [member="Catalys Maijora"] as he left the room. As soon as Catalys noticed him, however, the victim's head exploded and his body collapsed, revealing Mikkel standing behind it with his slugthrower rifle.

"Thought I'd joined up with you two," Mikkel said. "What's wrong with the people here? What made you issue the kill-all order?"

Mikkel walked over to Catalys over the dead man's body, slinging his rifle over his back and grabbing his lightsaber. When [member="Marth "]walked out of the building behind Catalys, Mikkel nodded to him.

Kitsune simply shrugged off Katya's response, and sighed. She delved into the station itself, and promptly walked into a medical facility. Seeing a bunch of corpses, she haphazardly poked around. Looking around for some spare medical supplies, she found some disposable gloves and snapped them on, before sanitizing them through with a nearby purification unit.

Meanwhile, Kitsune's Theta-class T-2c Shuttle began initiating a series of maneuvers to possibly exit the tractor beam, and with the additional fact that two quad laser cannons and aft laser cannon began firing upon the tractoring frigate.

The Dark Master stood on the bridge of the Bastion-class Gunboat. Arms folded across his chest, Vilox Pazela watched on as the Chiloon Rift floated before him, his vessel and crew. His reasons for being at the rift was more to do with the fact with his interest in nebula, rather than bringing it into the dominion of the Primeval. He always enjoyed it when his interests combined with his objectives; and he wished for the Primeval to grow, a ghost fleet to lead with a mighty following that he would collect, out here in the Unknown Regions.

"Shall we render assistance, Lord Pazela?" asked a voice. Vilox Pazela turned his gaze to the Umbaran, studying her for a moment. She was nothing like Kara Vi'derya, the Sith Lord that he had once had in his apprenticeship. He had heard rumors of that certain Umbaran, but had yet to be rejoined with her since the nine years they had parted ways. Being among her kind made him nostalgic.

"No." Was all that he would say. He turned back to the viewing panel, sensing the confusion from the bridge. Why weren't they going to help?

As of Katya's last orders, the tractor beams on the Theta had already been dropped. The frigate's shields sucked up laser fire incapable of piercing the deflectors, let alone the hull.

"Return fire, but have the squadrons on standby," Katya ordered, almost lazily. They had engaged lethally first, didn't that free her from any moral inhibitions? Well, perhaps not... "Non-lethal ordnance only."

Two capital grade ion cannons opened fire on the Theta-class shuttle. She only had a finite amount of patience for the Primeval lurking in her territory, with their hands soaked in the blood of innocents. [member="Kitsune"] had almost spent all of it.

The frigate continued to draw away from the space station as well as the Theta, moving toward the heavy cruiser. Shorn cared little if the Theta through some miracle managed to survive and limp back to the space station's hangar. It wasn't as if it could jump to hyperspace, not with the frigate's gravity wells active.

The frigate's vectoring brought it behind the Deliverance-class' engines, where the Pariah would now be mostly safe from the capital grade ship-killing batteries the heavy cruiser could bring to bear.

From the shining sun of Bastion to the harsh vegetation of Helska this Eye had seen.
And now to this great rift its eyes would fall, indeed, nothing would be hidden from the Eye of Sar-

"Sir, we're coming out of warp now, there seems to be a resistance vessel, optimal course of action, sir?"

Kadri shook himself from whatever daze he had lulled himself into. A deep intake of air and a rush of adrenaline. Not even six years ago he had been able to stay awake for days on end during a campaign, but now his age had begun to show. He was getting to old for this.

The Dominance class Star Dreadnought fell from hyperspace, easily out-sizing the other ships of the Primeval fleet. Kadri had hoped that his was going to be a standard shock and awe campaign of this small mining planet, but alas, it was not to be so. Conflict was bound to arise wherever the crusades were to go.
((OOC que Katya posting in the middle of my typing this :p))

"Establish contact, prime all weapons, prepare... One squadron of bombers. These infidels should scuttle off at the first sign of their lives being at a real risk or they'll dive foolishly into our fire."

"Communications online sir, speak when ready."

"Rebel vessel.... Paaariah II, so it flags, this is Grand Executor Kadri Ughad. Lower shields, surrender your vessel, and prepare for indoctrination into the Primeval fold, children. Resistance is futile as you have already seen. Or, you can scuttle off like the cowards that you are and leave us be. I believe that you have already realized that your vessel is no match. Now, establish contact wit the Executor, officer."

"All good, sir."

"Worry not, executor, since it seems that you yourself do not have the capacity to keep your own ship in shape, I will have to personally look into this myself. I don't feel too angry today and I will give you the benefit of the doubt. Give me a full run-down of what is wrong with your ship to the point that you are unable to maneuver yourself out of this situation."

The sensory officer quickly chimed, "They seem to have lost all power to the engines, sir."

"Ah, I see.... Prepare tractor beams to activate whichever target I choose on my command."

Actions run-down:
-Fall from hyper-space
-The kapitalist enemy posts while I do postings (shame :p)
-EVIL monologue-esque speech of cliche surrender demand
-prepare weapons
-prepare tractor beams

The order was received via the Sephi Priests, Legion was busy punching the lights out of a privateer. Legion held back an open hand and his guard gave him a blade.

"You have been deemed unfit to live...We will kill you all...Pray to your Gods now and join them in Death..." Legion slid the blade into the chest of the privateer, the gurgle of blood sounded his departure to hell.

The Sephi and Legion moved forwards, slaying men, one after another. The bloodbath was glorious and the pool began to fill at Legion's feet. The Sephi were well suited for CQC being lighter and faster than the clunky and useless Vong and Graug. They would slaughter everyone in their path, and it would be delicious.

The appearance of a dreadnought put a dent in Katya's plans. A rather massive one. The crew of the Pariah scrambled as she and Jan issued orders.

"Recall the squadron!"

"No time, ma'am."

"Fine," she snarled, "Have them jump to hyperspace immediately, we'll meet at the designated rendezvous."

The issued threat from the new arrival was true. The frigate would be swept away by that dreadnought like a paper boat in a typhoon. She couldn't engage and that burned her. Blast it. Well she definitely wasn't about to surrender for summary assimilation into the brainwashed masses.

"Activate our jammers, don't let them get a lock with their tractor beams. Prep the jump to hyperspace on my mark... three, two, one...."

While the enemy commander's speech rolled on, Katya's bridge crew finished making the calculations for hyperspace.

OOC: I don't see how your starfighters can jump into hyperspace if you have gravity wells in place. Also, no one has died yet, or at least, to your knowledge. <_<

Kitsune grabbed a nearby laser scalpel and began to excise into the human corpses with dexterity and extreme skill. She began analyzing what exactly these scientists were doing. The organs seemed to be normal, but she did discover a strange, plant like growth on the brain stem of all the individuals.

She paused and began carefully excising the plants from the brain, which seemed to be grafted on the individuals at some point or delivered and directly grown within the organism. Curiously interested in what these exactly did, she placed it within a cryogenic storage unit and took blood samples of all the organisms. Doing resections of the brain matter within the cerebral cavity and the brain stem, she wondered what these scientists had done.

Meanwhile, one of the four Samurai went to one of the computer terminals and began hacking into the systems for all information about activities on the station.

The arrival of [member="Mikkel Markov"] wasn't necessarily a welcomed sight but for the agent it at least meant one less enemy to deal with. "Less questions, more action.", he quipped towards the Delta's curiosity. Moving down the hall, presumably with [member=Marth] behind him as well, Catalys searched every shadow for enemies. Other than the sound of distant screams and the echo of falling objects, there was nothing to determine what noise came from their allies or the cannibals.

Little to the agent's knowledge, the Deliverance-class heavy cruiser was in deep trouble. Luckily [member="Kadri Ughad"] received their early distress call , because the ticket home nearly became a grave.

Lucky them.

Marth narrowed his eyes at the sight of the woman, about to pull the trigger as she fell and pleaded. He moved the barrel towards her, ready to shoot if need be. Although, it seemed Catalys already had that covered. The shot echoed through the dark hallways, bouncing from wall to wall. Marth's expression grew sour at the sight of the dead corpse. It looked revolting, with the blood and life sapped from it. The Umbaran nodded in response to his leader. "Affirmative." He replied. He followed the man outside, turning to see the infected body explode as Mikkel appeared. He gave a nod to his fellow Bleeding Sun member, the barrel of his gun now facing down. "Well, I guess we better get finding these parts..? And try not to die along the way.." He pulled his rifle back up, moving down the corridor.

OOC:
[member="Kitsune"], the Primeval has killed innocents openly in other dominions and hasn't exactly tried to keep it hush, hush. So yes, Katya would know. I thought I wrote about deactivating the gravity wells, but apparently not. Anymore OOC questions can be PM'd to me directly.

"Deactivate the gravity wells and jump to hyperspace."

The two projectors that caused the slight bulges in the privateer's hull shut down. Seconds later, the Pariah II and its star fighter and gunboat compliment jumped to hyperspace. Shorn glared as elongating stars shifted to a blue whorl. Blast them. She needed a bigger ship... no.... she needed a fleet of ships.

Either way, she would not see her childhood home abandoned to murderous zealots. I will return, she swore.

Exeunt

"About time you got here, fethers," the voice that so rudely interrupted the casual rapport [member="Catalys Maijora"], [member="Mikkel Markov"] and [member="Marth "]had built was dripping with arrogance and contempt, and its owner would be grinning widely at that moment; if he had a mouth, of course.

The shifter, or rather, the sniper rifle — for that was all that was visible of xem — had been picking off the crazed, zombiesque enemies for some time now, and the company would be much appreciated. Not that xe was getting tired or anything — how would a wall get tired, anyway? — but the trio would certainly serve as a good distraction and/or bait for the infected.

Joy oh joy.

The arrival of [member="Laguz Vald"] meant nearly all the agents were present. What a lovely surprise that was... Catalys nodded to the unorthodox member of their crew, despite not being truly able to see them to be exact. Not that it mattered. The Umbaran merely turned his attention away and moved on. Hopefully with [member="Mikkel Markov"] and [member=Marth] en tow.

"Let's get this done.", he said; once again arming his rifle.

Whatever was going on here the orders were simple. Kill everything who wasn't one of them, although some might've been interested in investigating these cannibalistic acts, for him they were little more than a distraction. A soldier wasn't a scientist, why study when it's easier to just get rid of the problem all together? With that mindset driving him, he continued own the halls. The metallic walls reflected back all of his steps in an echo, it was becoming difficult as to whether or not they were hearing themselves or the distant sound of cannibals lurking in the shadows.
