HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Technically the second 'Palace' of the High Sovereign Varik Ice, the Citadel was constructed with defense and a bustling population in mind. As construction continued in the high mountains that caused constant snowfall rather than the regular storms common to most people on Eadu, it was eventually decided that the Sovereign could reside here, though at his own request, a population was still allowed to stay in the Lower Areas, and the largest area of the Citadel was reserved for the Sovereign Guardians and their training.
The high winds did prove to be an issue for construction of the Citadel, though perseverance and persistence meant that the foundations were laid and the task of building it was going to be finished, no matter how daunting it seemed. Eventually, the Citadel was mostly finished, with the insides being properly constructed for long-term living and working. Varik Ice insisted his part of the Citadel be done last, and so the public and Guardians were put on higher priority.
Now, the Citadel stands tall amidst the mountain peak, and as a testament to the determination and grit of the Sovereign people.

SETTING INFORMATION
- Structure Name: The Citadel
- Classification: Royal Palace/Force Order HQ/Castle Habitat
- Location: Eadu

- Accessibility: The Citadel is based on one of the highest peaks on Eadu, and as such is almost impossible to reach on foot. The lower areas of the Citadel are open for public use and visit, and include a small population of people who live and work there. Landing pads and docking bays permit ship-based entry, but they must be approved first.
- Security: The Citadel is mainly protected by the Sovereign Guardsmen who are deigned to protect the Sovereign and his family, should he have any. The Citadel also contains contingents of regular Army personnel who are posted in the lower, more public areas, and the Sovereign Guardians protect their own sectors while also giving patrols to some others. The Citadel also has some minor automated defenses, such as some low-grade inside turrets and emergency blast doors.
- Description: The Citadel is a very large structure, built into the side of a mountain and jutting out above the actual peak. It is always under snowfall thanks to the high-altitude area that it is situated in, and has multiple levels and areas that make it almost labyrinthian to navigate. It is imposing and magnificent to onlookers.
POINTS OF INTEREST
- Upper Area/Royal Chambers: Reserved for the Sovereign, his family or guests along with his Sovereign Guardsmen, this Upper Area has multiple living spaces, kitchens, various other rooms along with the Throne Room, where the Sovereign holds meetings with his personal advisors and the heads of the Army and Navy for regular discussions regarding military policy.
- The Bastion: The middle area of the Citadel as well as the most extensive, The Bastion is home to the Sovereign Guardians and all those who aid them or take part in their running. Areas here include training and exercise rooms, meditation rooms, living quarters, kitchens, workshops, crafting ares and all kinds of places designed for self-improvement and learning in many disciplines and trades, along with the chamber for the Guardian's Summit.
- Lower Areas: The second-biggest area of the Citadel is the Lower Areas, open to the public as well as a bustling hub for tradesmen, craftsmen and merchants. Many live in these areas, with a contingent of Sovereign Army personnel acting as policemen and guards.
