The Companions: The Start of The Camaraderie

She had other intentions, when she was calmly telling others she was coming here to train. She was going to train alright; train herself to hold as much "fire water" as she could. Nar Shaddaa; the vertical City. One could just the beautiful stench and decay of desperate living. Many smugglers, pirates and criminals started their careers on the Smugglers' Moon

Tahl took very careful steps, maneuvering herself throughout the massive crowds of people, made up of all races it seemed. While her hand was on her hip; balled up into a fist she looked up completely dominated by the decaying urban landscape and congested, polluted city. If there was any place where she could get a good drink and play hell of a lot of pazaak there was no doubt you wouldn't see Tahl there.

When she arrived at her destination. The Slug Pit; in the Corellian sector, she immediately got her a drink ordered and sat down at a table full of dirty, grimy, thugs. She sat haunched over with her right forearm on the table, and her left on her hip. She shot everyone a devilish smile. Tahl no doubt had a thing for gambling, though she knew she wasn't very good at it, she still made a bet with a resident of this criminal haven.

As long as the living force ran through all these people, and the thirst for a good pazaak game was nye, she hadn't a care for being a center of attention in a popular bounty hunter bar. The games went on, and the hustle and bustle of the bar remained constant. It at the moment didn't seem like this night could go wrong.

Nala only asked herself "How did I end up here?" a she made her way through the crowds of people.

She did her best to avoid bumping into anyone, as opposed to those who simply bumped into her, and now made it a mission to find a decent place to sit and wait. Eventually she found a place, somewhere called the Slug Pit, and went in. At least there she could avoid being amongst a crowd of people who would likely pickpocket her, or worse. When she got inside she did a double check of her equipment, seeing all was still there. She sighed before walking to a table and order a decent non-alcoholic drink.

As she sat there she looked back, retracing how she made her way to this place. All she wanted to do was bye herself a small ship, possibly a fighter, for herself. Something to get around in. Something that would be nice for her to have since she loved to fly. But then she had to try and find something within her price range, which was cheap as could be, and that only lead to one thing after another. Going from one vendor of used star-ships to another until eventually getting herself lost enough that she had to come here, to a smuggler's den, just to make a call to her master to help her out.

She sighed and took a big gulp of her drink as she though how she was turning out to be a very unimpressive Jedi.

Vulpesen walked through the streets, looking for anything of interest. Having just come from Dorin, he was eager to see what the smugglers moon could teach him about the force. He didn't expect to meet any masters here. He only expected to focus himself in the force and survive in a place where he would be surrounded in the force's warm embrace. As he moved, he decided to stop in a small bar where he used a simple mind trick to get himself some Correlian Ale. It was easy enough for him as his own master had studied the skill greatly to have a better chance at getting good deals during trades. Vulpesen surveyed his surroundings and found a woman who seemed to have her own force presence at a table of Pazaak. It was an ancient game that dated back almost 4,000 years, but Vulps had learned to play anyways. Lucky for him, he'd also made himself a deck in hopes that he would meet another player.
Sitting opposite of @[member="Tahl"], he pulled out the cards and placed them on the table. "Not many people have a taste for the old games. Lately the only game I've seen in the galaxy is Sabaac. Still, it's good to see a kindred spirit. That is, if your up for a game or two." Vulpesen's ale arrived and he took a small drink before returning his attention to Tahl. "So, what do ya say?

@[member="Nala Tu"]

With a hat she took off someone's head now sitting on hers, and taking a sip of her own ale she noticed a man take a seat just opposite of her at the table. She hadn't moved her head, but her eyes did shoot up to get a better look at him. She raised her eyebrow and obtained a casual smirk. She could tell he was a force user, a possible bane to her cheating habits. She quickly placed her hands on the tip of her hat, and haunched over her side of the table. "Haha well, I'll never turn down a challenge, especially someone who makes an entrance like you. I gotta feeling your a rather....special one....such as me." She said all over this with both of her eyes brows raised, trying to hint him in on what she was really saying.

Tahl reached over to her side deck to randomly draw 4 cards, that she brought it back into her hand. Well now she was stuck with finding a way to cheat, without him noticing. She thought to herself, "Is this guy a Jedi? Hmmm..." With all the things that went down within a bar such as this, a true evil could go unnoticed, walking amongst the crowd as if they weren't there for their own selfish causes.

There had been rumors, of people seeing rather gruesome killings down in the lower parts of Nar Shaddaa. People claiming to have seen sightings of beings feeding on others. People with zombie like tendencies roaming around at night attacking others. They were all rumors of course, no one had any proof of these so called sighting or attacks.

Vulpesen grinned and drew his own cards, holding them in one hand while he took another drink form the ale. "I suppose you could say that." He flipped up a card and his eyes raised as they revealed a yellow nine. "What brings a lovely lady like you to a shady place like this? He looked up to @[member="Tahl"]. As the son of a merchant he found both pazaak and sabaac to be easy games when it came to reading people.

Nala groaned before finally getting up and needed to find a restroom. She tried asking the bartender but he rudely told her to go away since he was too busy talking with friends of his.

"Should've known Duros would have a bad attitude." she said to herself before finding the nearest door in the back.

When she reached it and went through, however, she found herself outside in a back alley. Nala threw her hands up in the air in annoyance before sliding against the wall. This day just kept from bad to worse. All she could think was how much more worse it could get.

Nala didn't see as a group of oddly walking and gruesomely moaning people, or what was left of them, were coming towards her without her noticing.

@Tahl @Vulpesen

Her eyebrow was raised as her slightly moved from left to right; examining her cards.she scrunched up her face when she noticed she hadn't really grabbed anything good. She slowly placed her cards under the table; preparing to cheat. She haunched over the table with a smirk. "We'll I happen to feel at home amongst the sluggish, and rather filthy." She said looking around the crowd at the table. There was a few grunts and expressions, obviously because she had offended a few, coming her way. "She was gonna make a switch, She was gonna place a double card in her hands. These were known to be rare, but hers was by no means real; it was a hoax.

As Tahl was reaching to place this card on the table her hand suddenly stopped, dropping the card regardless. "Something just doesn't feel right around here.." Her eyes squinted a little, and her focus wasn't on the game at the moment. Little did she realize that her attempt at cheating was now known to the whole table.

@[member="Nala Tu"] @[member="Vulpesen"]

Vulpesen raised an eyebrow at Tahl's mistake. In truth, he too could feel the shift in the force, yet he kept it to himself. As a general rule, Vulpesen preferred not to reveal his control over the force until he absolutely needed it. "Do you know what and where it is?" He kept his voice even as his left hand moved under the table and gave the cards a quick force push, sending most of the cards under another table, leaving only four random cards. No use in letting her get hauled off by a bouncer. Should any other gamblers try to catch her by looking under the table, they would only find confusion as to how four cards could make so much noise.

A few moments later, before anyone in the bar knew it, a zombiefied Jawa was thrown through the window and crashed into one of the tables.

From outside Nala called out "Sorry!" before more sounds of a struggle could be heard.

She had her lightsaber out as she was slashing at the zombie aliens that came towards her. The blue light of the blade helped her light the area as she saw more were approaching. She tried using the force to push them back but given her current abilities it was only equivalent to a light wind that pushed them back a little. One she managed to knock down before attacking the others. What she didn't see in time was the same one was still alive and, while on the ground, reached out and grabbed her ankle. She shrieked and tried to get it off but was too busy dealing with the ones in front of her.

@Tahl @Vulpesen

"I'm not sure what it is, which is weird." She said with a slowed voice of tone. Tahl hadn't really been the one to pick up on things unless it caused, a rather obvious shift in the force. "I'm thinking maybe I should go, Just my instincts probably telling me that's enough pazaak for one night." She said grabbing her cup and drinking the last of the ale. Though she was only using that excuse as a cover up to get herself out of the area; who knows what could go down. with all the innocents in this area, if a gun fight broke out there would be too many dead. She quickly slammed the cup on the table, and grabbed someone else's cup and drank theirs. After all was done, she let out burp. "it was nice knowing you mystery guy" she said directing it @[member="Vulpesen"] and quickly taking off for the door. This was very typical of Tahl, just to get u all into a game, and leave you when she felt she wasn't gonna win. At least that's probably what the others were thinking when she left.

Then suddenly a short being flew through the window, and crashed on a table. Everyone started going crazy, people running out, and others suddenly started fighting. Tahl was only stuck in shock as she wasn't capable enough to leave before it all threw down. She looked out the window to see a Kaminoan Jedi fighting what seemed to be fighting a rather diverse group of species. Tahl heard her shriek and jumped out the window behind her. Landing on the so called zombie that was grabbing onto the woman's ankle. "Awwwe ewwww!" She said looking up. "What are these things?"

@[member="Nala Tu"]

Vulpesen's eyes widened as the Jawa broke through the window. Of course that was fairly normal in places like this, but when he say the Kaminoan fighting, he found it slightly more unusual. His mind was able to pick out the subtle differences between their fights and the normal ones, immediately telling him something was up. Well, no use sticking around here in the bar. Things to do, people to save. Vulpesen leapt from the window and landed on another infected being, slamming its head into the ground to knock it out. "Call me Vulps." He said, looking to @[member="Tahl"] who was standing next to him. He loved his full name, but he figured that he didn't have to time to speak that mouthful of words.
His head snapped to the jedi. "What's going on here?" he asked, drawing his vibroblade and using the flat and pommel to beat away his enemies. He hadn't ever killed a sentient being in his life, and he refused to start now, unless these things were no longer sentient.

Nala looked back to the two and backed up next to them so that all were standing in a group.

To answer both their questions she said "I have no idea. Here I was already enjoying a really bad day and then...THIS!" Another advanced towards her, making her slice it's arms off before saying "All I wanted was to buy a stupid ship!" in a mix of anger and exhaust.

She used her force powers again, this time managing to knock down a nearby communications array on a nearby building to squash a few more. As they kept fighting she said "Oh, Nala by the way. Nice to meet you."

@Tahl @Vulpesen

She threw her right fist into her free hand, "Well I'm Tahl, I guess this is a great way to ring us all together." She said with an awkward expression on her face. She had only tried to bring light to this situation. It probably didn't work. She was standing by them in a group, with so much chaos going on around them. She punched one of the thrall like enemies that got a little too close, sending him a couple of feet away. She looked over to @[member="Vulpesen"] "This must clearly be what that disturbance was." She looked down squinting her eyes to examine one that had already been taken down. It appeared to have palish skin, seemingly drained of life itself. While she was still looking down blaster bolts came flying through the window from inside. What had been a bar fight had turned into a gun fight. "We have to get outa here!" She said placing her hand on @[member="Nala Tu"] shoulder.

When a few stray blasts came towards them, Nala stepped in the way to deflect them. @[member="Tahl"] got her attention when she did, making her nod and look around for some way to escape. She looked at their options, one way involved trying to get through the walking creeps ahead of them and the other involved going back towards the bar where they'd be stuck in the middle of a gun fight.

She mumbled to herself "Stuck between a rock and a...."

Nala looked up and realized the other option. She jumped up, using both the force and her long legs, to reach the nearby roof of the nearby building. The building itself was short enough that, when she was safe on the roof, she reached down and offered her hand.

"Hurry!" she said, looking between the two and the incoming zombies.

@Vulpesen

Vulpesen cast his gaze skyward to @[member="Nala Tu"] and sued his sword to beat back a few more beings before leaping up as well. The force came naturally to him in times like this and he managed to gracefully flip to his feet upon reaching the building. Five months with the baran do and a few more with the Fallanassi had left him with the skills of a jedi padawan, albeit with a few different abilities. "On the bright side, they don't seem very smart.

She looked up as both of them had managed to jump out of the fray of battle, she covered @[member="Vulpesen"] so that he could get himself to safety. As a single sentient trued grabbing at his legs , Tahl griped its arms, and threw it at a nearby wall. She punched another one straight in the jaw, which sent it flying a couple of feet. She quickly ran back to the wall and used the force to help argument her agility. She jumped and gripped @[member="Nala Tu"] hand, which she used to swing and flip, landing on the roof. Tahl flipped her hair and placed her hand on her hip. "We'll that was pretty crazy, I've never seen anything like this before, and I've been to a lot of places." She walked closer to the group, "I'm not sure what they are.....but from what I noticed they lack color of the skin, they appear dead. Kind of like a zombie or something. How could something like this go unnoticed?"

Vulpesen cracked a smile and looked at @[member="Tahl"]. "It's Nar-Shadaa. Nothing gets noticed around here." Although he was happy on the outside, Vulpesen's brain was busy trying to work out what was going on. Normally people would think this was the work of spice, yet he figured that something else was happening. Tahl was right about one thing. Their appearance was quite a bit different from that of a healthy being.
@[member="Nala Tu"]

Nala stood once all were safe and looked back down at the zombified group. She listened to what @[member="Vulpesen"] said and cocked her head a little, thinking it was pretty odd that even something like this never get's noticed around these parts. What a mess she was in.

Looking back down she said "Maybe w should find somewhere a little less, you know, creepy. I feel like any moment they're going to sprout wings or something and fly up. Or just crawl up. Or maybe they'll try piling themselves and make a use mound so one can simply walk up and then..." she stopped and looked to the others saying "....sorry. That's not really helping, is it?"

@[member="Tahl"]

Tahl smiled at his joke, it was obviously true. Though she was thinking they couldn't just let these things roam free, they put up a fight for even them, and they were all force-sensitive. She looked over at Nala as she began to suggest they leave this area. She started to obtain a awkward, and rather creeped out face as the Kaminoan kept adding on to what she was saying. She came close and peered over the edge, "Yeah I'd say we need to get outa here, this place has officially been put on my stay away from list." She said with humor in her voce, but yet it was all serious. She stepped away from the edge and began to walk in the opposite direction. "We'll, what would a Jedi be doing here?" She said turning her head to Nala.

@[member="Vulpesen"]

Vulpesen absent mindedly listened to the others, but his mind wasn't completely there. After he had finished his sentence from earlier, he knelt at the edge of the building and looked down at the "zombies". Vulpesen's eyes scanned through the beings under him while his mind used the force to look for anything that was left of what they had been... perhaps if they had been brought far enough, he could use this terrible occurrence to his advantage.
