The Crow and The Pilot

Cawrion sat waiting in the private room in a bar on Serenno. He was waiting for [member="Khayla Malagan"] a promising pilot and apparently very handy in the technical world. He had found her through some contacts and convinced her to come meet him here. She was just the thing Cawrion was missing. He had worked with people before but since her picked up the kid he was looking for a better criminal, a criminal that didn’t need to kill to get the job done.

So he sat there, feet on the table leaning backwards mask on and hood up, all his weapons at the ready and in a sealed box on the table and extra mask and his specially made weapon, just in case this meeting went very well. For if she were to join him, she would have to look the part, following his pattern, he was bound to get attention drawn to himself soon and he was determined to only be known as the Crow.

So he sat there waiting in silence hoping that he finally found someone worthy of joining him and the kid in the crew without a name. That what he sat thinking about until she would come, now that they were growing he needed to create a proper name and it had to be a good one.

Khayla was curious about this meeting. From a few contacts, she heard of a guy that was looking for someone with her skills. She agreed to meet with him in a bar, hoping it wasn't a waste of time. She asked the bartender about the man known as The Crow, and he directed her to a private room. 'This is it' She thought to herself, as she opened the door and entered the room. There she saw the masked, hooded man sitting at a table. "Hello Crow." She said as she sat down on the chair opposite him. "So you've got an offer for me. I hope it is worth the effort it took to come here."

[member="The Crow"]

Cawrion sat up as she walked in the room. “Hello there Khayla, sit down” He talked in his altered voice due to his mask and gestured to the seat opposite of him “Whether there is going to be an offer entirely depends on how this conversation goes”

He looked at Khayla for a couple of seconds “So what we do is stealing ships, I heard that you are a good flyer and good with technical things so I assume you are a slicer. Are these things correct” Cawrion sat there, looked at her intently, of course she could not see his reaction or expression due to his mask, but that may change as if she was worthy of joining, he would show her who he was.

[member="Khayla Malagan"]

"I'd say that is accurate." Khayla answered. "I can do many things with any kinds of tech." Khayla watched the man devoid of any emotion under his mask. She tried to scan him with her cybernetic eye, but she got no reading. "You'll never find anyone as versatile as me with tech." She might have slightly exaggerated. "I'm the best at what I do."

[member="The Crow"]

Cawrion smile under his mask “I rely on trust, for without trust everyone is forced to watch their own back instead of doing their job. This creates many problems and people make mistakes and I hate mistakes. So convince me that you will be loyal, to not stab me in the back and I’ll let you open this box.” He tapped on the box with the box, and revealing the tip of the barrel from his wrist mounted blaster

“Don’t lie, for that will be the last thing the you will do” He looked at her and concentrated on her facial expression making sure she told the truth. He really hoped she did.

Khayla flinched when Cawrion revealed his gun. "What, did you really bring me out all this way just to kill me? I can give you my word that I don't plan on stabbing you in the back, but why would that mean anything to you? You don't know me. And I don't know you. Why should I be loyal to you? Because I heard you were possibly going to offer me a job. That is why I would be loyal. So if this is a job offer, then I will remain loyal as long as you are fair to me." She leans over the table, getting closer to the mysterious man. "Good enough for you?"

[member="The Crow"]

Cawrion grinned under his mask, this was a test of character much more than anything else. The more aggressive personalities would have attack him or done similar actions to prove they were fast enough to be fooled, however those smart enough would stay calm and collected enough to just speak. And although she flinched at sight of the gun she reacted just like he wanted her to.

She leaned over the table and asked him if it was good enough, Cawrion leaned back and chuckled lightly and removed his mask, putting it on the table. And now speaking in his normal voice, a calm and pleasant tone “You passed my test with flying colours, this was a test of character, something that is worth much more than the words anyone could have answered. So to answer your question, yes that is good enough, and now”

He sided the box across the table “These are yours for the time being, if I like how you work, you can join me on a more permanent basis, of course you’ll still be free to do as you please but you’ll have my support anywhere, and I expect the same in return. But let’s talk about that later, open the box”

The box would contain two items one Mask of Corvine and one Corvine Beak

Khayla opened the box to reveal the mask and crossbow. She looked at Cawrion, then she took the contents out. "So," She said. "Am I supposed to wear this mask? And what about this crossbow? I should tell you I don't do guns." She put the mask and crossbow on the table, then she looked at Cawrion, studying him. Since he took off his mask, she could see his face, and he looked a lot younger than she expected. He was definitely younger than her. "You're pretty young." She commented, though she tried to make it sound like that wouldn't be a deal-breaker.

[member="The Crow"]

Cawrion nodded “Yes the mask is for you to wear, that is a part of what i am creating, that is to say our future if you choose to be a part of it, you could of course walk away whenever you should wish. The mask is meant to hide our true features and who we are so that we can go about other business as we please regardless of whom we may irritate whilst working, and it has features so that we all seem like the same person, for whilst wearing the mask all will sound the same. In addition to all these things, it aids you if you should ever be in need of it, but since you don’t use guns that would be unnecessary, however there are other features that you surely will find useful. And last but definitely not least… it looks awesome”

Cawion smiled at her comment about his age “As you will soon find out, age doesn’t matter as much as what you have done with the years that you have been alive. I have been a part of this world almost since my birth, so I know it well and I am trying to change it. One of these things are true unity. The other is the unnecessary killing.”

He picked up his mask and looked down at it. “Do you have any more questions or things to say to me?”

[member="Khayla Malagan"]

"So you are trying to start a movement." Khayla speculated. "A group where you can do anything and get away with it because no one will know who you are. A group where anyone can be the face, and yet no one can be the face. A group filled with anonymity. No one can stop them. The perfect criminals. But not criminals. This is organized. This isn't some regular group of criminals you want to start. This is a cult." Khayla picks up the mask and looks at it. "So yes, I do have one question. When do I start?"

[member="The Crow"]

Cawrion cocked his head from side to side in a you’re half right gesture “Yes and no, not so much a movement as people I approve of joining, it’s a screening process and only those I have a good feeling about may wear the mask. Second part entirely correct, the cult part however not so much. Nobody needs to praise upon anything, it will just be this, people following a couple of rules working together to make a living away from the restrictions of the law.”

Cawrion grinned at her “You can start very soon, the only question I have for you is this. Do you have anyone that you wish lost their ship? I am not above a nice revenge; I find it somewhat enjoyable actually”
