The Dangers of Haruun Kal

A gust of wind caused the pale white hair to dance upon the soft breeze for a moment as the woman stood silently, the shuttle's engines cycling down. Taking a moment, he hand rose to shield her eyes from the sun, the humidity of the jungle world making itself apparent even to one whom had just arrived. Though for her, she didn't feel the heat as much as others around her.
Taking a step forward, the pale woman was quickly joined by two others, armed and armored as they moved away from the shuttle. Her hand grasped a datapad, and taking a quick glance over it, she scanned the small map that had been loaded. A small blinking red circle marked a sizable area outside of the capital city. Of course while many of the Balawai, or the 'Outsiders' would be easy enough to accept what she wanted, it was the native population that she would find herself fighting with; that and the corrosive metallic eating fungi.
With a heavy breath, she slipped the datapad away before she turned to face the two that had joined her. With a silent nod, the two stepped away, rejoining their companies that had also arrived. She was hoping that there wouldn't be much trouble, though there was always that chance.
It came down to the reason she was there. Preshean Auxiliaries needed to expand, and on this world she saw a chance to establish a facility that would train specialized units. Naboo was pleasant enough and that was the problem. Her forces couldn't just remain and train on Naboo, it didn't have the biological diversity that was needed. No, if she wanted her own forces to be like the Stormtrooper Corps of old, she would need trained and specialized units.
That was where Haruun Kal came into play. If she could establish a facility here, she could be training units that specialized in jungle warfare. All she had to do was deal with the local inhabitants.

Dart’s tiny feet padded off of the cold metal ramp and onto the leafy surface of Haruun Kal. For such a small little guy, he looked like he packed a big punch. A broken looking rifle was slung over his shoulder, and was almost as long as he was tall. Every so often its end would butt against the ground. He followed the tough looking men off of the ship. He wasn’t like them. He was just a Amaran trying to make some quick credits off a job for a woman who lookes like she was made of ice. Well, maybe he was like all these other men.

As he walked along a couple of them nearly tripped over him. They exchanged the occasional ‘Watch it,’ as they ran into him. Dart just ignored them, bunch of karkers. He swung the rifle around to his front, and hefted it up with a groan. As he walked towards his employer, she might not even notice him. From her point of view it probably looked more like a gun with legs.

“Hmph...hey lady, what’cha need me to do?”

Icy pale blue hues fell upon the Battalion strength that had been brought to deal with the locals. While the Assault Battalion would have been preferred, for the moment the simple Line Battalion would do; even more so as she didn't expect too much resistance from the locals. If that thinking was to be proven true or not was still yet to come. So there she stood, silently watching as the groups of companies gathered their equipment, many of the men breaking open the multiple crates of portaak amber and beginning to smear the strange sap like substance upon their blasters and pretty much anything that could be affected by the world's strange fungi.
When she heard the voice it took a moment for her to register that someone had been talking to her; her attention pulled elsewhere as she had taken a more watchful stance. Her arms clasped behind her back as she stood there before she rolled her head downward. Seeing the Amaran standing there, though it wasn't that odd or out of place considering the type of company that she ran. Nodding for a moment she looked back up, drawing a line from the small creature with her eyes towards the crates that were being unloaded.
"Make sure your weapon is coated with portaak amber and anything else that this world's fungi might eat. Help unload the remaining supplies and when we finally move, try not to get yourself killed."
Her voice was nearly as cold as she looked, and there was a simple reason why. Eighteen years of being a mercenary and seeing multiple friends and acquaintances killed during that time caused her to push even more away. All that remained seemed to be a cold husk, though that was not to say that she didn't care about those that she was about to command into a jungle. Unlike many, she would be standing out in front, as big a target as any officer.
