Leave it to Vren to be a smart arse in times of dire discomfort - both physically and emotionally. "Well that's just fine," Tris started, complete with smug tone. "I'll just go by my-"
Her words cut short when Siv's comment cut across the comm, and that wasn't all. The noise of something large swimming around them was audible, especially considering all they had around them was darkness and water. "What the haran was that?" She may not have seen the thing first hand, but she also didn't have to wait around long for an answer. All at once, the four of them were out of their element quite literally. The cold made their movements stiff and their reaction times suffered in response. A fact which was doubly proven when whatever that thing was decided to make a move.
"Vren!" she had only had enough light on him to see him get struck, but not enough distance with her beam to see where he had been gone. "Siv, Kale! Shoot the damn thing!" she railed out, though to be fair it wasn't as if they could see well to get effective shots off. And in this cold? There was no telling how well blasters were going to work.
Which caused Tris to reach down to her leg and draw a hefty blade from her side. It wasn't anything fancy, or even all that impressive to look at, but it was sharp. With Kale and Vren both having fired off missiles at the creature, Tris used the brief flashes of light in the darkness to watch their predator. The noise of impact - both from the shots and the overgrown fish - were felt more than they were heard due to the pressure of the water around them. Never the less, Tristan used this as a guide, and when the slimey, scaly monstrosity started to circle around the collection of them all again, she used both hands to stab the blade as deeply as it would penetrate the scales.
At first, this had jerked Tris from where she had been, but she was only along for a rough ride for a few short meters. Eventually the catch of the blade gave way and rather than remain stuck deeply, it instead raked down the length of the creature's body until Tristan finally managed to free both the blade and herself. She had no idea how effective it would be, but she knew her efforts would at least have the thing wounded now. "It should be bleeding now," she called out across the comm. "Easier to track at least!"
