The Dark Can't Always Hide You...

Vallory knew that she couldn't hide forever. She was hiding from the Sith, but also from Commenor. She had been afraid that if they found out about her involvement in the initial strike...but finally, she decided that she was done hiding. She had earned a lightsaber, on a new path. And found someone to her heart. Now, was the time to apologize. Vallory thought just who might help. In her time in the Sorenn-Syrush, she had seen one that had been met a few times by the one she once saw as childhood hero.

So, she did all she could to track them down. And then, sent them a message. An anonymous tip one could say, about some business that could be made. Vallory was still afraid as the message was sent to @Jairdain. But this was the person she saw fit to help her back into the good graces, since as she saw it she would not be seen as an ally. This was also for her master's sake. With less to hide from, she could come from the shadows and help her master more.

Ravenous

Guest
The Darth stood motionless as he stared into the endless abyss that was space and pursed his lips behind his cold embroidered mask his orange sith eyes glowing through the lens of his red visor. His palms were open intent on sitting motionless as the corporal stormed into the bridge of the harrower destroyer. "My lord! We recently intercepted a transmission seemingly coming from the girl you were sent after. The signal is encrypted itself but not its origins and we have managed to triangulate the signal to the planet Voss." The man stood there still motionless he was in deep thought as he often was. It was too unbearable to witness the horror that his life was given. "I Can do this I can find this girl and make her give me what I want she WILL be the gateway to my victory." He thought to himself

His eyes opened his hands clenched and he turned to face the corporal as he cleared his throat. "Take us there immediately and the moment we drop out of hyperspace launch fighters and troops to assault the entire planet." He paused mid-sentence revising his plan "But before you do commence orbital bombardment until the planet is set aflame." He gave a plain demeanor under his helmet leaving a cold stiff atmosphere behind him as he proceed towards his meditation chamber.

"For now I rest."

An odd message was sent to Jairdain, but as regent, it shouldn't have been too much of a surprise. Business contacts were needed for Juniper City. It wasn't so much as a straight up business offer, but just something that was potential. Needing to know different people, Jairdain did not hesitate to answer. Any lead could turn out to be something very profitable.

Sending a reply to this person who was still anonymous, she picked a location to meet within Juniper City. Not at the home she had built there, but one of the meeting places around town. Unsure if refreshments were going to be needed, Jairdain took care to have something ready if they were wanted.

Making sure the doors were open to allow her guest to enter, she now waited for this person to arrive.

Vallory saw the location. Juniper City. With renting a speeder once she reached Commenor, she made her way to the city. This was it, she was on a planet that may not be so welcoming if they knew her identity. She tried to remain calm. And as she arrived to the city, Vallory began to look for the set meeting point they had agreed to. There it was, and she parked the speeder just in front. Adjusting her cloak around her, she entered through the open doors and looked around.

It took some time till she saw [member="Jairdain"] but Vallory recognized their face. It may have been some time but she recognized her. Moving over to where they waited, she stood to the side. "Jairdain? Am I correct?" she asked, glancing them over from under the cloak.

The doors were open for an additional reason. It gave Jairdain the chance to hear the approach of somebody. Heading the speeder arrive and the steps of her guest, she turned to apparently look at her. A small breath came from her, one of surprise and not fear though.

She did not sense any danger from this person, but threat was there. Jairdain gave no physical outward sign, but she made her mental barriers slightly stronger.

"Yes, Jairdain Ismet. I don't believe we have met before."

Though she seemed familiar. Maybe they had crossed paths before. Time would tell on that.

[member="Vallory"]

Vallory paused as they turned to her. Yes, it was certainly her. And her words confirmed that they were indeed @Jairdain. "Vallory...I...I may have lied, but I have good reason" she quickly added on. Yes she was not actually here for business, but she had been afraid that if she asked by the truth then it may not have worked. "I have come in hopes you can help me. And you had met with someone who knew me. Amelia Sorenn? She...well you could say at a time she was my mentor. But that is not why I am here."

How was she even meant to put this? Hey, I was with the Sith that struck Commenor, and may or may not have aided in the killings of some of your people? "To be straight with you, I had assisted those that attacked Commenor. I want help to get into the good graces..." She paused for a while, all the words having come out rather fast. "Does it help to say Stardust is my master?"

The first statement from her guest was a bit of a surprise. At least the admission of lying was put out on the table first and Jairdain was able to see past what she had done. She had been friends or had known very well Amelia. It was a shared connection between the two of them and very likely she had at least in passing met Vallory before.

"I know Amelia well enough. This other person, Stardust...I have only ever heard of. Never met her personally that I am aware of."

They had crossed paths before in much the same way she had crossed those of Vallory. On at least two separate occasions she had been in the presence of Stardust. Once on Veradune, which was the most recent. However, they had never been introduced formally.

[member="Vallory"]

The Sanguinius paused her train of thought as she listened, but at least she was not suddenly told off for having lied. That at least relieved her of some of her stress that she held in. That was good, at least. Vallory was a bit surprised to hear of Stardust, however. She had been under the belief that Stardust was very well known upon Commenor. The surprise even showing in her expression. "Yes...Amelia. I have not spoken with her in much time..."

She went into a pause of thought. [member="Jairdain"] could help her, right? "You...you can help me, right?" Vallory asked curiously. At least a bit hopeful. She was putting a lot of trust into this. "I hope to get myself a good name after...after I had helped in the attack."

"Are others aware of your actions against the Commonori people?"

It had been a large conflict and not everything could be known. There was the chance that whatever Vallory had done was something small. Much like the part Jairdain herself had played. A small interaction with a sith lord, rescue of some of refugees and then escape from the battle.

"Time can allow your name to become good again."

Giving her a slight smile, Vallory would tell she was being open and thoughtful to her.

"You approached me on a potential business lead. Is this something you can actually see yourself doing?"

[member="Vallory"]

Vallory paused. "Only Stardust and her husband...they have shown me mercy" she answered after the long pause. All she wanted was some mercy from those of Commenor, but not once did she think that maybe they would already give such mercy to her, if she just came out with it. "Yes, time..." [member="Jairdain"] said something about business, and she thought over on that. Was it something she could see herself doing?

"Um...what...what kind of business? It was a kind of...well, a cover to get you to talk to me." Vallory went quiet for a moment. "I was afraid for a bit."

"Fear is something that is very strong. You don't have anything to fear from me though."

Her hand lifted to cover her heart for a moment and it lowered again. With a simple motion with her fingers, Jairdain motioned to the food and drink she had brought.

"Would you care for something? I am not a business person, but rather a diplomat, consular and advisor. However, I need to start thinking about business. Very recently I was given regency of this area around us. There needs to be some way to support it and grow. Maybe you can help with that."

[member="Vallory"]

Vallory nodded to that. Fear was powerful. It hung over her like a cloud, fear of being found out and beaten down. She looked to the food and drink. "It wouldn't do much but...well, I guess some couldn't hurt." She took some drink a light snack. As she did, she listened. "Diplomacy? I...I was never one for diplomacy...unless it was convincing someone, in my own way" she smirked lightly. That wouldn't really be counted as much as diplomacy.

Now, this regency she spoke of. It had her attention. "Regency...what exactly do you have in mind? Normally my skills are put to more, how to put it..." She paused for a while, tapping her chin with a finger. "Devious purposes."

[member="Jairdain"]

Serving Vallory the food and drink, she joined in helping herself to some as well. It was probably good her guest wasn't exactly a diplomat because that is what she was good at.

"What is your own way?"

If it was anything like what Amelia was good at then Jairdain had a very good idea what was meant. Without sight, the smirk wasn't seen, but she heard it in Vallory's voice and nodded.

"My idea would be for you to be my advisor in business matters. Sometimes a cunning mind is exactly what is needed."

[member="Vallory"]

Vallory paused mid drink, and swallowed what she had at the question that [member="Jairdain"] posed. "My way includes more...sometimes comfortable places. Sometimes throwing the fists...sometimes squeezing into tight places that I'm not allowed in" she explained. To put it simply, a spy, a thug and a thief. Even if she disliked the thug part, she usually did not enjoy beating others into the ground unless they absolutely deserved it.

"Advisor. Well...well you have my attention, at least" she began. "I won't be around all the time but I can help..." She smirked, getting a bit of an idea. "Unless by cunning you mean, distract the competition a bit...or is that too devious to what you wanted?"

"Ah in my past I have been trained as an assassin, but never really got to use my skills as one. Did Amelia teach you one how to do things in comfortable places?"

If Vallory looked at Jairdain, the texture of her skin would show she wasn't a scarred fighter. That was only on the outside though, inside she was quite scarred. A few people in her life had played around in her mind and left their marks there.

"It might be needed. Cunning is something that requires thought and sometimes trickery, nothing evil though, please. A twist of wording can accomplish a great many things."

[member="Vallory"]

Vallory shook her head. "Never met her, actually till I was experienced. No, all my work was...self taught." And through harsh teachings. Slavers, pirates, marauders. Murderers, assassins, thieves. She dealt with them all. Sometimes even worked with them. Her flexible skills and almost artistic flow of movement when scaling a wall to fit through a small opening, it got her big job opportunities. Though sometimes she felt that all they wanted to do was stare.

"Nothing evil, I can pull that off. Just bat my lashes, play on my words here and there. I know how to distract, keep their attention elsewhere while you get your business done..." Vallory sighed for a moment. She could certainly get the hang of this. And plus, she could not always stick to combat. "What a team. No way they will see what's coming."

[member="Jairdain"]

She hadn't Amelia until after she had gone through many things herself. Their races were different, of course and Amelia would have gone through much more than Jairdain ever would.

"In a way, that's the same as me. My work was self taught, but I was sort of pushed into the study of the more mental arts than those of the physical."

Smiling when Vallory started getting the idea of what she wanted from her.

"And maybe give me advice now and then."

[member="Vallory"]

Vallory thought more and more over the offer. Advice giving? She guessed that she could indeed do that. She thought over for a while, in silence as she even began to pace while thinking over on this. Should she? She had a master, had so much more to learn. And soon would be helping her master teach others the ways of the force. As well as the conflict within that she still held...Soon, she came to a decision.

And nodded to @Jairdain. "I'll take you up on this offer...when do I start?" she asked, glad to have gotten something out of this.

It was an offer that a decision needed to be thought on. Jairdain understood this perfectly and waited patiently while Vallory gave it thought. Even if she had answered she needed to think on it longer, she would have accepted the answer.

"Do you have any other pending meetings or other business to attend to? You can wrap those up if you need to, otherwise, today. I can provide for you a place to stay when you are here if you need one."

Salary would also be talked about, but that could wait unless Vallory brought it up now.
