The Dark Room (Nessa)

Nik Woverius Rillians

Moron by Day, Idiot by Night.
He couldn't watch, he knew he should, he should see what he'd doomed these people to but he couldn't. He wasn't strong enough for that.

"Too much of a coward..." He thought.

When it was done, and it was done far more quickly than he had imagined, the girl bounced up as if she'd done nothing more than finish off an icecream sundae. That in itself was more disgusting to him than the act, that she just saw this as another day as something not to be ashamed of. "Its done now, let it go..."

"Nik.." He said, finally introducing himself as she kissed him on the tip of his nose. When she did so toward he braced for imminent death. He had the definite feeling that until they had parted company, he would always be waiting for her to turn on him.

"Use some of that hocus pocus and get us out of here, I'm getting real tired of this place."

"Okay!" Nessarose bounced with a grin, and looked around. The area they were in... Was kinda huge. She could not see walls or ceiling. But that was without making use of the Force.

Closing her eyes, the bubbly and pink girl allowed her presence to spread through the Force. She could feel the ebb of it, growing in tiny jumps, in perfect sync with the beat of her heart as the blood and life ebbed and flowed through her body. To her, the sensation lasted a mere few seconds. To anyone who wasn't her, it had taken a good several minutes during which Nessa had no reception and was generally unavailable.

Suddenly!

...I'm not half the man I used to be...

Her eyes snapped open, the green almost burst from beneath the eyelids. The sheer strength of it made her jump backwards with a little squeak.

"So I got bad news, and I got worse news," she said once she'd calmed down, turning to Nik, "which do you feel like hearing first?"

Nik waited. Then waited some more. Then he got bored of waiting and hummed a tune. After that he took to making annoying clicking noises with his teeth while walking in a circle around the now catatonic Nessa. Her comeback tour in the land of the living was so unexpected he was forced to leap back several paces and shield his glorious face from whatever hex or curse she might bring down upon him.

"Ladies choice!" He said his voice still in the grips of mammalian terror before his body untensed, which seemed like a pointless exercise as he'd no doubt be startled again in 1.5 seconds.

For the first time that evening, Nessarose looked... Uncertain.

"Are you sure?" she asked, looing at Nik with her big bright eyes, "maybe you wanna make the dramatic speech first?"

While some might have meant that in jest or in mock, Nessarose's tone showed just how deadly serious she was. She'd experienced it (partially) earlier. Maybe letting him out it all would be the better choice in this situation? Because it wasn't as if the news was any kind of good...

"Oh I don't think anything I say at this point can cover the magnitude of frakkedupness that has occurred in the last half hour...so get on with it." Nik wasn't feeling particularly jovial, given the six sentients he'd just dragged to their doom. He needed to get out of here, he needed a damn drink, he needed to expedite forgetfulness. Given enough booze he was confident that this could all be misconstrued as a nasty dream sooner or later.

"Well, if you're so sure..." Nessarose said slowly, chewing on her inner cheek for a moment as she tried to put her words together in a way that would not make Nik decide he was just bullshitting and was now going to go into his dramatic speech anyway.

"I can't find walls or a ceiling. I've reached far and wide with the Force, announced my presence, probably alerted whatever guards might be around that haven't noticed what we've done that we've definetly escaped the cubical that we're alive and well. I think..." she inhaled deeply, "that we're on a planet or a moon or an asteroid that is actually a huge jail, and that whoever put us here does not intend on us leaving, unless we figure out how to break atmosphere and fly into space."

Rillians listened and was surprisingly not kacking his pants after she'd finished. If he were a betting man, which he was, he'd put his money on asteroid. He looked down at his feet and lifted his boot before stomping it down. The surface gave a clang of metal, which meant that this area was man made and not a natural cavern inside the asteroid, if thats even where they were being held.

"I wouldn't worry about getting a ship, they had to use one to bring us here and no prison worth its salt doesn't have patrols to fend off escape attempts. We just have to find a hanger bay. As to our current position we should pick a direction and see where it leads." He pointed right, then changed his mind and marched off left.

"You can do that thing where you know when people are coming right?" He called back to her.

Nessarose, for once, had no problem with assuming the follower position rather than the leader. "Well it kinda depends," she started explaining, her hands moving as she spoke, "see, if they're people, then usually, yeah, no problem. Animals often too. Unless they're strong Force Users who are hiding their presence, then it really depends on who or what said person is. But of course, a lot of places use security droids rather than people, especially if they deal with sentient prisoners, not to mention that the HQ could be up in orbit and they only send shuttles down to the surface which of course means that even if we escape here we might get stuck up there and-"

While she could have gone on for a bloody forever with her chatter and explenations, there were a few more important things that required their immediate attention.

Namely, the big droid that was standing there with six beam holes on every limb, had seven limbs, and apparently also had a shield on its head, protecting it from being snapped apart.

"You're not a Jedi by any super sikrit way, right?" she half whispered to her partner in crime.

"Umm...no, can't say I am." Nik responded as he spotted the hulking metal death machine. He began to back away slowly, very slowly. There wasn't anywhere to hide, the droid no doubt had infrared, and they had no weapons to speak of.

"Run? Yes, lets run!" Nik yelled before sprinting away from the now very mobile security droid. Its pounding footfalls were only silenced by the staccato burst of blaster bolts that lit up the darkness for the briefest of moments.

Run? What? Wait! "NO!" she yelled at Nik, standing her ground. Her head was running calculations. Shield meant that even if she ripped one of its arms off, she would not be able to destroy the center piece thingie that makes it work properly. But droids were just bits of metal.

"I hate big droids," he scoffed, and thrut both her hands forward. She might not be a Jedi, since Jedi knew how to shortcut droids, but she was a Sith, and a Sorceress, and a Queen, and she was not running. Lifting the droid via the Force, Nessarose slammed him hard down into the ground, starting with the lower body. Pew pew shots were flying all around, but because Nessa and Nik are the heroes, they aren't going to get fatally hit by them, so we're good on that front.

Nik didn't hear her over the sound of his own internal screams of terror. He couldn't tell where he running to and as he looked back over his shoulder the only indication of where he'd actually come from was the erratic flashes of gun fire from the droid.

So engrossed was he in watching this over his shoulder that the only warning he got for the next event was a faceplant directly into a very solid, very sturdy, metal chestplate. He promptly fell over and cursed his own stupidity before scrabbling to his feet like a startled rodent (Which was an apt comparison) and fleeing from whence he came.

"NESSSSSSSAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Was all the Sithstress would hear before a Rillians shaped blur went past her followed by yet another security droid.

@[member="Nessarose deWinter"]

Oh shi-

She wasn't even done handling the first droid when Nik attracted the second one to them. Usually droids were just small peices that were hard to kill, but each one that they were facing here was at least at boss level, and seriously, she needed more time. If only she'd had her mother's skills with controlling the earth, it would have been easier. But now... No. Just no.

"COVER YOUR EARS!" she screamed as she lurched atop of Nik, forcing him to drop to the ground with her cover his upper body and head. Because when everything went wrong, there was one thing a gal could do; scream.

Nessarose opened her mouth and screamed at the top of her lungs. But what had begun as a simple scream was soon enough aided by the Force, the volume and and the decibels rising so greatly that everything around them began to shake. Up and up her voice went, everything shaking and shivering around them, including the droids, who found themselves pushed back from where they stood by the sheer force of it. It was another twelve second before their insides exploded, unable to withstand the pressure.

Nessarose closed her mouth and rolled off of Nik when the cell landed just inches from her, a few sparks from its breaking walls flying and lodging themselves in her flesh. But there was no time to to sit down and take care of the wounds.

Cells were dropping all around them, and it was an inglorious London Blitz.

"WHAT THE FU-" Was all Nik could scream as the crazed cannibal tackled him to the ground and then filled the air with a maelstrom of sound that made his very bones rattle and probably cracked one or two teeth in the process. When it was over he was shaking, like every atom in his body were suffering from shell shock by the bombardment of noise.

It wasn't long, mere heartbeats, before the tempo cranked back up to pant crapping. A brief glimpse was all he got of the descending cell before his body took over and he was rolling, leaping, ducking. Doing anything to stay ahead of the avalanche.

"We need to get out of here!" He yelled, acutely aware that he couldn't here his own words over the ringing in his ears. A transparent panel shattered inches from his toes forcing him to hop back just as another exploded behind him. "Now would be great!"

@[member="Nessarose deWinter"]

Now would definitely be great. But it was hard when things were falling so quickly around them and that Nessaorse hadn't had a decent rest of real nourishment in quite a while. She didn't even have her weapons with her, or help. Adorable that he was when he picked up bodies for her, Nik was several kinds of useless when it came to the Force.

But she was a benevolent Nessa, and forgave him for it. Or at least, would have, if she was thinking about that right now. Instead, most of the thoughts through her mind raced to how the hell she could get them out of there.

Trying to raise the earlier bubble shield, her attempts were thwarted time after time when she shield could not wrap around them without something sharp and deadly falling into its forming walls. No good. She could feel the warm blood trickle down her face, and hated to admit that for the first time in a while, it was actually her own blood, and not someone else's.

Dropping to the floor, she forced herself to lay on her back as she called the winds; gale winds to come and aide her. Where she found the strength from, the Sith Sorceress was not entirely sure; but the tornadoes that were forming around them, pulling all the dropping cells up from the ground, sending them spinning around the towers of wind.

And Nessa felt like she was going to die from exhaustion.

Nik was renowned for his bad luck, people from one side of the Corellian trade spine to the other spoke of it in hushed whispers and stifled laughter but this was taking the absolute and utter piss. The falling death was bad but now he was being buffeted by an inexplicable storm front as he fought his way toward Nessa, his arms raised against the razor shards that spun wildly all around them. Then it stopped and there was an eerie calm.

"Eye of the storm?" He asked the pissed off air before turning to where Nessa now lay on the floor. "Are you doing this?"

@[member="Nessarose deWinter"]

Sweat was pouring off from Nessa's forehead and face. She was completely drenched in the stuff. Keeping all the still spinning sharpness out of the way was taking a lot of effort from the girl, and she was still trying to contain it all. The brightness of her eyes flashed with a harsh light as she decided not to waste energy on anwering such a silly question. Of course she was the one keeping them safe. That was what she'd been doing the whole time!

"I'd kick you where the sun don't shine for that if I could move right now," she growled, "get me more bodies!"

"There are no more bodies to get!" He yelled above the cyclone. "If anyone fell you've cut them to pieces with this party trick!" It was true, he could see the lifeless dolls pass by, caught up in the unnatural wind that kept them safe from the descending death.

A thought occurred then, one that he did not ever imagine himself having. The knot of fear that it tied in his guts near stayed his hand but there was little hope of getting out alive without her. "I'm an idiot.." He thought as he rushed over to her side.

"Do it. Eat me, you gluttonous queen. If you kill me though I promise I'll give you such a case of the shits that people will think you have a fountain up yer arse..." No going back now.

@[member="Nessarose deWinter"]

Boom. The magic words were uttered, and the winds dropped. Everything the cyclones had held merely fell to the ground, no longer moving, no longer under her control. Not that there was a need for that remaining.

From the ground she rose, her hands coming up to cup Nik's face before her lips pressed to his, and she inhaled. Every muscle in her body relaxed as she called on the power of the Force, drinking him, taking of his life force into herself.

When she released him an eternity later, there was no time to check if he was all right. There were no visible gray parts, as though she had merely taken a large gulp, but had come nowhere near to draining the cup. The Sith Sorceress hugged him tightly, and grinned as both of their feet were no longer on the ground.

"Don't panic," she giggled as they continued to rise upwards. They'd have to get as high as possible. And maybe, just maybe, they'd be able to see better from there.

As first kisses went, it wasn't bad. A bit wet but she was young, maybe a bit too much force behind it. What was she trying to do, push his teeth down his throat? Then came the the pull and something inside him began to stretch.

Nik's vision began to wobble and his head began to throb as his heart suddenly surged to a dangerous tempo. He could hear the blood in his veins, feel it rush throughout his body. Then, it was over and he felt his entire body sag as his muscles unanimously relaxed.

"That was an experience..." He croaked, his voice weak and raspy. It took him several more minutes to realize they were now airborne. After the last hours events this didn't even phase him, he had grown immune it seemed to the shock factor that accompanied Nessa.

"Is that a light up there?" Rillians asked, looking up at a small pinprick in the darkness.

@[member="Nessarose deWinter"]

Nessarose chuckled as she saw Nik's response to her draining him. Only now had she realized that she'd gone gently on him, perhaps to make the experience less traumatic than what it otherwise could have been. D'aww. She was really going to have to work on that angle of liking people too quickly.

Looking up, the teenage girl's eyes narrowed and she nodded. The speed of their acceleration quickened, reaching towards the light, and Nessarose had to avert her gaze back down when the two suddenly found themselves bathing in it. Moving them slightly aside, she released the Force from the hold on them, and the two dropped on... Ground?
