The Darker Ways [Avicus DuSang]

Lilith was on her home planet again. Coruscant... what a great planet it has always been. She was born here, she was raised here... most of her life had been here... It was a bit weird to be back here. But it also felt really... angering. She didn't want to see Jasmine anymore, but if she was on the planet, there was a really high chance she could meet her young sister.

She happened to be on the other side of the planet, so the chance she could meet her sister was minimal. Jasmine would've never wanted to see her with yellowish eyes... And with dark hair. She had changed much with the complete corruption.

She was there, walking on the streets, while many people were driving with their vehicles. The traffic was just really bad. She would've wanted to leave, but something held her on the planet. It didn't allow her to leave, but she didn't know, what was the thing which held her here.

Beside her, a black cane clicked on the steel of the walkway. A black gloved hand gripped the green top of the cane. A white tuxedo adorned his body, it's white cape blowing slightly in the breeze.

Yellow eyes were covered by green sunglasses. And atop his blue hair sat a white top hat. He didn't look at the woman. Just stood beside her. "It can be difficult following the voice of the force.

"And yet, it proves to be impossible to ignore. Every time we fight, the force pulls harder. Like a spider's web, we are bound by the threads of fate. Take these people, for example. Each of them moving towards their destiny.

"Never once paying any mind to the predators that lurk in the shadows."

Lilith wasn't scared. A man had appeared next to him, but she wasn't scared. She didn't look at him, but she sensed the man wasn't a very serious threat to her. She felt like she was similar to her because of something... Maybe it was the man's speech's topic. Maybe it wasn't... She didn't know.

"Indeed. They are living their little life without fearing us... But they should be. They don't know, what we can do to them," Lilith said with her echoing, windy voice. It seemed like her voice was really disturbing to some people. Many normal people looked at her, but she didn't even notice them. Well, actually she had noticed them...

"And, would you show them? Get the Coruscant Police involved? Followed shortly by the Republic military and their Jedi lapdogs? No. The secret to success is to cause the smallest ripple. By the time your opponent sees the wave, it has already grown to a tsunami."

He turned to her, lowering his glasses so yellow eyes could get a better look at her. "I am Lord Avicus DuSang du Coruscant. Would you care to join me at the pub here 'round the corner?"

Lilith nodded as the man answered to her. Indeed, she can't show them how powerful they actually were. In her opinion, the Jedi Order was her greatest enemy. They had always fought aganst corruption and Lilith bet her master is already looking for her. But she didn't care. They didn't help Lilith. They didn't help her fight against the corruption. Now she doesn't need them anymore. She liked the corruption.

"I am Lilith Mae Lancaster, The Lady of Corruption as I call myself," Lilith answered after the man turned to her. Of course, to be polite, she had turned to the man as he had started talking. "I would love to hang out for a while." She looked at a clock. Yes, she had time... But it was weird, because her actions had nothing to do with time. She had time infinitely.

"A pleasure, Madamoiselle Lancaster. Shall we?" With that, he tipped his hat to her and began walking. As he said, around the corner was a quaint little pub. As soon as he stepped in, a gentleman was there to take his hat, cape, and sunglasses.

Sitting at a table, the server pulled out a chair for Lilith. "A glass of brandy and tell the chef to surprise me. I trust his judgement. And, whatever the madamoiselle here wants, of course."

Lilith felt honoured. The man was a gentleman. She hadn't seen many of them, but the ones she had found were all really good. But this one looked like the best one she has met. As the man started walking, so did Lilith. She forgot the corruption, she forgot every future plan she had... She just wanted to enjoy the afternoon with that gentleman, Avicus.

As they stepped into the pub, she felt like this was the place like her. The man pulled out a chair for her and so she sat on it and sayed: "Thank you!" The echo in her voice didn't sound so creepy anymore, probably because it almost disappeared. Lilith was surprised. After the man had ordered his drink and food, Lilith looked at the waiter and said with her nicest voice: "I would like a glass of red wine and a meal which goes the best along with it."

The waitor nodded, typing on his datapad. As the man walked off, Avicus took off his gloves, olive fingers pressed together. Yellow eyes danced over his guest as he smirked. The waitor walked beside him, presenting their drinks.

"Merci, garçon."

Picking up his glass, he stirred the contents under his nose, breathing the scents in. "In all my years, I've come to realize that women, like wine and brandy, can hold over a thousand distinct flavors. These various flavors are stemmed from almost unrecognizable, or noteable, events in the journey to maturity.

"And what of you, madamoiselle? Tell me about yourself. I smell blood on you. The scent of a killer. But, like myself, I don't see it defining you. Simply one flavor among a bouquet of beauty."

Lilith smiled at the waiter as he left. And she also smiled at him when he came back with the drinks. "Thank you!" she said kindly as she took her drink. The wine was really good. Or at least that's what she thought after smelling it. Then she took a sip of her drink and smiled at Avicus. "I really like the language you speak in."

Then she put her staff away. It was the first time she did it since she made the saff. "Well, I believe I am just lost... I don't know, what to do... But I like it this way. I enjoy the Dark Side of the Force..."

"You mean Coruscantian? As a noble, I was raised on it. It's all they ever speak at the House of Lords. Which is where I just came from." Slowly, he sipped his brandy, letting it wash over his tongue.

"You like the darkness because it's confusing? Or is it confusing as to why you like the darkness? Or is it that the only thing you know is you like the darkness, and it's the only thread you have left ib your chaos of confusion?"

"I was born and raised on Coruscant, too... But I have never lived the life of a lady. I have always been a middle-class or even lower person..." Lilith said. The man seemed to really like his brandy. She liked her wine too, so everything seemed to be fine.

"And now the darkness... I only know, that I love the Darkness. That's everything," Lilith said. She took another sip of the wine and looked around to see, what's going on. Nothing interesting...

"And you overcame it, n'est-ce pas?" He leaned forward, a fingertip lightly tracing intricate designs on the back of her hand. "Tell me. If you've spent so much time in the dark, why haven't you searched deep inside to unravel your own personal mysteries?"

It was then the waiter came out with two steaks garnished with a vegetable purée. With a snap of his fingers, the alcohol on the plates erupted into light blue flames. After the flames died down, the various aromas came together.

"Have you ever had a nymphus steak? It's a delicacy. And, they prepare it perfectly here."

@[member="Avicus DuSang"]

"I have spent time thinking about my future... I haven't thought, that there could be mysteries in me..." Lilith said. She decided not to take her hand away, though she had the feeling like she should.

But the waiter already came and performed a great short show. It was really cool... But the fact, that their food is ready, was even better. "No... I haven't eaten anything like that before... I hope I like it."

"The true key to the future is to keep enough attention on it that it doesn't draw from the here and now. Which in itself is a paradox since you need an understanding of your past to unlock things in the present and future."

He chuckled to himself, shaking his head. "Forgive me. I'm waxing philosophical when you should be eating. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. So tender, you can cut it with a spoon. Just enough game taste to make it exciting.

"They say it's an aphrodesiac, but I say that's a nocebo."

Avicus was really very philosophical. She didn't understand him exactly, but she didn't show it to the man. She started eating while listening to the man. Yes, the steak was really good. Probably it was the best thing she has ever eaten. And if not, then it was the best thing she had eaten in a long time.

"Indeed, the food is great..." Lilith said after taking another sip of her wine. She had taken so many sips of it, that the glass was half empty now. Okay... she thought. I guess I'll get a bit more of it later...

There was always a level of danger and intrigue that the former Emperor kept about him. It was part of his appeal. Part of his charm. However, his guest was proving to be difficult to read as well.

"I'm glad you like it. Would you care for more wine? I can have them bring over the bottle." Taking a bite of his own steak, he chewed it slowly, enjoying the flavors of the meat and various seasonings.

"I must say that you are as interesting to talk to as you are to look at."

@[member="Avicus DuSang"]

Lilith chewed the meat and took another bite. It got better with every mouthful of meat she took. And she enjoyed it. But she hoped she doesn't have to pay for it. She had the many at the moment, but... Okay, whatever... she thought.

"Alright... The wine is so good, so we should let them bring the bottle here," Lilith answered to the man. She looked at the man as she ate his food. She continued looking at her even at the time he said another sentence. She felt surprised.

"Is my hair a bit strange? Is there something on my face?" Mae started panicking. She thought that the man thought her appearance is weird.

Black tendrils of the force wrapped around the bottle as it floated to the table. Yellow eyes closed and his lips curled back into a smile as he began laughing. After a few seconds, he regained his composure.

Wiping his mouth with a napkin, yellow eyes opened again. "Désolée, madamoiselle. It's just that the look on your face was priceless. No. There's nothing wrong with how you look. Honestly, I find you to be captivating. Perhaps I should've said that instead of interesting.

"Mais, c'est la vie."

Lilith tried to put her hair into a better style, but she failed miserably. Then she tried to do something with her face. At first, she took her napkin and tried to clean her face with it. When the man started talking again, she stopped. Oh, the bottle is here... she thought before starting to listen to the man.

"Oh... I am just very stupid..." Lilith replied to the man. She would've wanted to hit herself with her staff, but it would've seemed really... dumb.

"Stop it, love. It was never meant to insult. You're not stupid, just nervous. Relax. I won't bite. Well, not terribly hard anyway." he mused with a wink and devilish.smirk.

Sipping his brandy, he pulled out a cigar. Lighting it up, he took a few puffs off of it. Exhaling the smoke in the air, his gaze returned to her. "Would you care for some dessert? We could order it to go and take it with us to the Estate."
