OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

SETTING INFORMATION
  • Structure Name: The Dead Dragon
  • Classification: Crime Hub, Hideout
  • Location: Maena - The New City - Level 477-487
  • Affiliation: Darth Abyss
  • Accessibility: In Theory the Dead Dragon, besides the secret hideout below which is only known to Abyss and his allies, can be found by everyone. Yet due to being near the point where almost only criminals and other scum reside, the Dragon is mainly known among them.
  • Security: The Dragon comes with state of the art surveillance systems monitoring almost every part of the structure. As for actual defenses, the Dragon is always under the watchful sight of guards, made up out of Abyss Acolytes, Ghostmakers and Members of the Tainted Legion.
  • Description: On the outside the Dead Dragon is quite different to the rest of the clubs, bars and casinos of Maena's lower levels. No neon lights or other flashy advertisements are placed on the front entrance, instead the uppermost area was designed to mirror an ancient ruin, only truly distinguished from one by its position and the fact that in place of actual ancient runes, dice and other gambling related objects are marked on the outside. Upon entering the first thing that comes into sight is the large dragon skeleton hanging from the ceiling, making clear from where the name of the establishment actually comes from. What can't been seen from the outside are the various levels of the Dragon, leading 10 stories down, closer to the truly wretched depths of the world. From the entrance hall various path lead into the myriad establishment that are part of the Dragon, either by stairs, elevators or simply doors.
POINTS OF INTEREST
Level 477

-The Dead Dragon Casion
patrick-barron-executiveproductionspg3.jpg
The Core of the Dead Dragon is it's Casino. While in no sense a lawful or clean place, the casino is still a place of reasonable order, considering where it is located. Here guests can waste their credits on various games, ranging from common ones like Sabacc and Pazaak, to more obscure ones imported from different cultures. The games change once every week besides the classics, making sure to keep the whole thing fair. For the Casino.

The Casino also has a bar, but it is less frequented due to the more interesting bars that are placed within the Dead Dragon, and rather serves to offer free drinks to guests with a bit to much luck on the tables.

In the backroom is another, smaller Casino. Taking notes from the notorious brokers on Malachor, here wealthy and influence guests can play their favorite games in a high stakes version, were not credits but real estate, physical goods and rare information are the bets placed by the patrons.

-The Dead Dragon Hotel

Besides the Casino the first level also holds a quite expensive Hotel offering all common and uncommon luxuries a deranged criminal could think of. Besides free drinks, free men or woman, private pools and luxury suites also offers various criminal services, including hits on opposing individuals, drugs and arms deals or the contacts to hire a small private army. For a price of course.

-The Blackout II
a7a790ad42931febb41d71c240fbe3ef-d5cboey.jpg
Named after the Blackout on Katarr the Blackout II is the first of two clubs that are part of the Dead Dragon Complex. Marking the slightly more civilized part of the Club area, the Blackout II offers only drinks, light drugs and discreet love for sale, making it a fine place for guests with reasonably normal desires. Still there is no rule against weapon inside and occasional violence is common here, as are other form of deranged behavior.

Music wise the Blackout II takes a more laidback approach, playing that can be danced to, but not so loud and aggressive that guests leave with a permanent trauma to body and mind.

-The Blueprint

The Blueprint is probably the most normal place inside the Dead Dragon besides the Casino. Thanks to a strict ban on weapons of all kinds the patrons can come here to enjoy their overprized drinks. The Bar offers a wide variety of exotic liquors from all around the galaxy, but rumors claim that most of them are simply common drinks filled into fancier bottles. Despite that the guests generally enjoy the palace to show of their wealth by still buying them.

Level 479

-The Flashback
watchmen_tein_10_by_janditlev.jpg
Despite its name the Flashback is the prefect place to go if you plan to remember absolutely nothing of last night. Even Abyss, known for ruling two worlds that are essentially just oversized shadowports, was impressed with the amount of drugs the club consumed in a single night, which to a large degree is his own doing by having his Lab Rats sell them, including his own compound FAI74, in everywhere inside.

All in all the Flashback screams gritty, dark club for criminals, including multiple shootings and murders per day, dancers in cages hanging from the roof and music so loud and distorted that it is quite possible to have breaking hearing after a few hours spend there. One of the very few good things that can be said about the Flashback is the fact that it is dirt cheap, and even the lowest of the lowest can afford to spend their night there.

In the Backroom of the Flashback is a place where multiple Dreamchambers can be found, allowing their guests to spend their night in a state of digital happieness if they have the money.

-The Omen

Officially the Omen is a bar. Unofficially it is a prominent hang out spot for arms dealer and information brokers that are not there because of the stale drinks. The bar hasn't much to offer in terms of foods and drinks, but its staff is very concerned with the privacy of its guests, offering various private booths for paying customers where business can be conducted away from curious eyes.

Level 480

-The Prophet's Sanctuary

Below the clubs and bars, on a level that can only be reached after going through a long, complex series of security checks if no one opens the door, waits the personal halls of the Prophet. Or at least so it would seem. In the Underworld appearance is everything, and so Abyss made the choice of going full crime lord with what can only be described as a throne room. These parts of Dragon are rarely used, only in cases were Abyss feels like he has to make a point when meeting with other underworld elements. He even went the extra mile to install a trapdoor, leading in the level below ...

Level 481

-The Dragon Pit
comish___this_game_by_twilightsaint-db3e67o.jpg
Below the Prophet's Throne waits a place mirroring the Rancor pits so often employed by the Hutts. The only real difference is that it houses no Rancor but a far more wretched creature. An actual Dead, or rather Undead Dragon. Miasma, one of Abyss creations, does not often reside in the pit, mainly because the sith lord prefers to use him for more important tasks. Like his throne room he is only found there if Abyss really, really wants to underline the point he is trying to make.

Level 482-485

Here only reactors and water pumps can be found, used to supply the bars above and the hideout below, as Maena's level of support so deep down can only be described as lacking.

Level 486-487

-Hideout
command_center_interior_by_alexdrummo-d4adu58.jpg
Through and Elevator that can only be reached from the sanctuary a way leads down into a place closer to the cult infected depths of the world then to the criminal underworld. Here Darth Abyss set up his secret hideout, a high tech surveillance and planning facility that allows him to oversee and control his whole criminal empire.

Found there is also a fully stocked armoury, various workstation for his men and room where they can rest and sleep outside of anyone's reach. The hideout is almost always run by Abyss Inner Eye, keeping an eye on his business on Maena when the Prophet is currently caught up elsewhere.

It also hold a mediation chamber and a ritual room, where a handful of his Warlocks and Necromancers reside to aid Abyss with their arcane abilities when needed.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The new city of Maena always was a place where crime and villainy was running rampant, calling the interest of Darth Abyss, known among the circles of the Underworld only as the Prophet, early on. Yet there were more things that made the world, and the city a prefect place to extend his influence. Through his position within the Sith Assassins the Black Assassin already saw the ruler of the new city, [member="Matsu Xiangu"] as an long time ally, giving him to option to not only build within the city, but do so with her blessing in return for observing and manipulating the City's underworld according to her vision.

The First piece that found its way into the Dead Dragon was the antique that granted the structure its name. A dragon skeleton, a rare piece from Abyss collection that he never found much use for. From there the project more or less build itself, as it is tradition for Abyss and the People of the Free Cities. Instead of planning much of the building himself, he rather allowed his people to go free, which lead to place that was an obvious blend of Maena's Underworld and the ideas of the Free Cities. Various different establishments, run by various different people that only in the very end answer to Abyss, sprawled inside, building what the Dead Dragon is today level by level, piece by piece.

Only his sanctuary, and the hideout below truly saw the influence of the Prophet's Hand. Build in secret, both construction sites were hidden below those above, leaving no trace of their very existence.
