The decay of desperate living

If she wasn't in the shadows and had her hood up, you would have seen her right eyebrow lift sharply as the whip cracked. The young stranger was showing tremendous set-restraint and this was to his credit.

She hadn't expected to remain hidden forever and sure enough her Padawan's nemesis called her out. But to respond would be to play his game. If she could remain tight-lipped when facing Sith Lords, she could do so against Padawans with egos that exceeded their abilities.

The fact that the towering alien had noticed Corvus' presence, upped the stakes for Diego. His master was a powerful Jedi Knight, but Diego was irrationally protective of her nonethess.

"Negotiate peacefully?" Diego asked the creature with a raised brow, chuckling. "I thought we were going to fight. Now I'm a bit disappointed." He grinned sarcastically. The alien man with his throwing weapons didn't have the air of one who wanted to negotiate peacefully so Diego made no move to put his weapon away.

His muscles tensed, the young padawan kept a hold of the metal grip of his shock whip, his finger poised over the voltage settings. "Besides, I told you we wouldn't be agreeing to your price, but you seem to be too thick-skulled to understand."

With two flicks of his hands, the blades disappeared again. Back into the the gauntlet that allowed him to pop his blades in and out like that. He hoped this would be a sign of peace. "I prefer unnecessary violence. You are not a contract, therefore I have no need to fight. So. Let us discuss. I'm sure we can reach a...mutual agreement." Krytu sat on a table still far out of reach of that whip, not taking any chances despite his oh so kind words.

At the alien's sudden desire for reconciliations, Diego was truly puzzled. And if he had to admit it, a bit disappointed. He was quite looking forward to fighting the much bigger man even in light of their huge physical differences. He blinked and dropped his shock whip to his side, hooking it back into its holster, his eyes still on the man in front of him.

Diego turned his head towards Corvus and gave her a look that plainly said, "A little help here?" He wasn't sure if he was supposed to negotiate or intimidate. If it were up to him, it would be neither. He'd simply attempt a leg sweep or a choke-hold. But he was a Jedi now, and he knew that he was only supposed to resort to violence if absolutely necessary. If he wanted to stick with his training, he'd have to walk that walk. The last problem however was their lack of credits.

He leveled his eyes at the alien, and still hoping Corvus would step in at some point before he went ballistic, folded his arms across his chest. "Ok, then name a more reasonable price. And we'll talk."

Corvus knew that look and so stood. Slowly and carefully so not to startle anyone - she wandered across to where the debate was taking place.

"I am a Jedi. We are Jedi. Do I dress like I have money to hand out? We came for information and there was no price attached. Now we can talk about potential crimes committed and have this conversation in a prison cell, or you can hand over the information and we'll say no more." Her voice was calm and collected. This was no idle threat.

Location: Raven Safehouse

"Ok ok I'll talk!"

"That's more like it!" Lisa roared, joy filling her voice in like dripping honey.

The fire continued to burn in the couriers body, the poison becoming more and more agonizing as she had promised. He was barely able to keep his focus, but he was very aware that his body would stay alert allowing him to feel the full effects.

"I gave the package to a strange lizard man, some sort of force user. It's not my fault, he tricked me!"

Lisa eyes bore down into the mans, playing like laser beams from a star destroyer into his soul. Her mind reached into him, pushing itself past his barriers. The couriers mind was a mess. It was a haphazard stream of thoughts, much like a thousand crystals being thrown about in a windstorm.

Lisa tried to catch each piece, to connect them into a single pane.

But it was no use, the man's mind was too far gone, his memory churning amidst the agony of her poison.

"Where did you sell it!"

"Near a stripclub, down at the industrial district!"

Lisa nodded, removing her sniper rifle in one quick motion and loading a round in the chamber.

CLICK

"Wait no!!!"

"Don't beg, it shows weakness." She said coldly, levelling the rifle at his head.

"Your services are no longer required traitor, here's the anti dote to that posion."

Pfft!

His head exploded, spraying brain and skull in garish mix upon the wall. Crimson ichor shined like a dull sheen on a dirty gray wall.

Lisa shut off the light, tapping the switch with a flick of her hand and exited onto the street, snapping her goggles down over her eyes.

The hunt was on.....
