Faction The Dedication of the Jadelight Beacon (SJC/JEDI)

She Left Behind A Legacy
Nodding, "She was in the ritual chamber, brooding per usual. But off to the side...which worries me more than anything, means she's up to something. She's just as dangerous and as powerful as Solipsis, though power grabs don't seem to be her forte...she excels at tricks, making abominations, and sorcery that can turn a staunch lightsider dark. Just be careful alright?"

"As far as the crystals, I made them with Taeli and others of her caliber in mind. I'm confident they'll work. As long as the formation is right and remains undisturbed...it'll be a nice trap, and it'll confine everything to that area...no ins or outs until it's finished."

Auteme Auteme

The opening ceremony was brief, but powerful. To see so many great masters of the Force in one location, to celebrate an event this local, was gladdening to the eye of one who had witnessed the downfall and splinter of the Jedi Order as a young man, and subsequently done his best to pick up the pieces. It also served to remind him there were others to carry on the struggle besides him and his immediate circle.

The lightsabers were deactivated, returning the room to its normal hue as socialising commenced.

“Good to see you all again. Master Heavenshield, Master Vanagor, Master Ike, it has been far too many decades since we last crossed paths, I believe. I’m afraid I don’t recognize the youngling with Master Jade though.”

"Tiland," he bowed to his honoured elder, matching the softly-spoken words uttered by the Anzati. "Her name is Auteme, Knight of the New Jedi Order. Bright young lady I believe holds much potential. She's been a great ally of the Silvers since before the alliance. It would seem she and Romi have business to discuss."

"Always a pleasure, your Highness, Master Heavenshield. Hopefully, all is well on Midvinter and you are living the life you deserve to have."

"Caltin," he eagerly shook the man's hand, matching his strong grip. "Please. If I could have the life I wanted I'd be a simple farmer with next season's harvest being my sole trouble. As far removed from the spotlight as humanly possible. Somewhere my wife and I may spend our lives in peace and quiet."

Though his expression grew grim the more he spoke of this, he immediately perked up at the sight of the oldest Perl daughter.

“Child Support, Big Guy, Mr. King. Good to see you all again.”

"Yula!" He greeted her with open arms, embracing her whether she liked it or not. With Joza being an old friend of his and Coci's, any bearing her family name was considered practically family. "I am very happy to see you safe, sweet child," he said as he lowered her back to the ground. "With all that's been going on lately, with Nida and Kyra. Poor girls. Your mother cares greatly, though she lets on otherwise."

Unbeknownst to the uninitiated, the Heavenshields maintained close relations, as well as frequent communications, with other prominent Jedi from all over the galaxy, Joza Perl Joza Perl and Coren Starchaser Coren Starchaser being chief among them. Knowing many of these senior members had children of their own, Thurion felt compelled to see to their safety whenever able. They were family.

"Hey. You'll let me know if you run into any trouble, won't you? Uncle Thurion will set things straight."

So many Jedi around, that was such a heartwarming feeling for Coren. The crusader turned protector of knowledge, he was working on locating holocrons and more importantly, any ancient texts, dark or light he’d protect it, some would be easier to find than others. But the Order of Selab knew where to find it all. He had access to several starships and several temples. It was more a matter of keeping it moving, an eternal shell game. But as he was holding his saber up with the others, he could tell that the galaxy was tipping in the right direction.

As he felt that moment passed, he joined the other Jedi in the more social aspect of the opening, beginning, launching… lighting? Of the Jadelight Beacon. Having the heavy hitters of the Jedi here was a smart move, and the others who arrived? It was good to see them too. Smiling to one of his longest comrades, Tiland Kortun Tiland Kortun , the Corellia nodded. “How have you been, Kortun? Qi-Ko going well?”

“And the rest of you, I trust the galaxy is treating you well?”
Ike was an artisan, he was fairly certain Vanagor was handling much of the Silver war effort, and Heavenshield had his own world to watch over, much differently than the way Coren took residence up on Kattada. Now ownership, but stewardship. It was then that he turned when he was being addressed again.

Child Support… was that him? “Hey, I am doing better. What brings you out here?” He really needed to see about getting one of, any of the Perls to realize their full potential. Now that was an idea. But as Thurion spoke, he really knew that the Jedi families were one big family.

That was comfort.

She looked at some of the others and was able to listen to the conversations... the acoustics and years of training to listen helping as the jedi master didn't need to move much... she stayed there but looked at some of the others who were around.. she knew most of them either by looks or reputation... being on Ahch-To in the temple was one thing or another as she saw Coren Starchaser Coren Starchaser and spoke with a smile on her face. "It is master starchaser." She offered a grin and moved towards one fo the tables bringing up the information database on her headset and the jadeite upgrades letting it connect with informational needs here... holocrons, scrolls, datacrons and records of thousands upon thousands of years of the jedi and force groups able to be accessed but she was inputing video and information from the dedication for Romi Jade Romi Jade

Though she wasn't willing to split her focus for an apparent other mischievous Sith, she gave a slight nod in response to the advice. The thought that there might be some way to capture Solipsis, entrap him long enough to properly subdue him, was quite tantalizing. "I hadn't really thought too much about using it. If we could place them around his office before we confront him- well, it still leaves the issue of confronting him, but it certainly simplifies things."

Thinking a moment, she then gave a nod as the plan came together. "I wasn't going to stay long, I admit, but I'll say hi to the others, mention the New Jedi Order's situation. If you'd be so kind as to introduce the idea of going before the Senate, in order to help alleviate the pressure on us... then, I'll organize a proper diplomatic invite to the Silver Jedi. Three weeks. Then we bring him down."

She Left Behind A Legacy
She nodded, "Precisely, now you're on to something. I'll have my five sent to you, and combined? Well, that's more than enough power." She continued on; sounded solid to her.

She signaled her compliance with an elevated thumb -- "You got it. Support coming your way."

"Good to see you Auteme."
She followed up, "Be safe. For light and life..."

[theme]

A release--a deep breath--came up at the break of her discussion with Auteme. She took a moment for herself before re-engaging with the other; she looked out into the space around her.

A good while back, she sensed nothing but darkness closing in around them. It was unseen, thick, and shrouded by something...and even as she knew it was far off, it was the speed at which it was coming that was more alarming than anything. This was why she created the enclave, which turned into the network it was apart of...but she never saw alleviation from those feelings--it was still coming for them.

After a good daydream she sought out a colleague, someone she respected very much, and some who just so happened to be present.

As if she were watching herself, she slowly slinked her way through the gathered, and came upon her mark

"Master Heavenshield..." Shifting her weight, she propped a hand on her waist and swayed a bit in her stance. "Could we speak a moment?"

Before Yula could reply, Child Support appeared to join in the greetings of the eldest Perl sister. He imagined it must be an awkward position, having fathered only the one in such a large family, then having to interact with the other children without an ounce of shared blood. Worse still was the fact Coren and Joza had ended their romance as soon as it had begun, leaving even less in the way of familial ties.

For the ever-faithful and fatherly Thurion, it was a situation he was woefully unfamiliar with. Still, it did not diminish his view of his old friend dating back to a time when both men led the Silvers and New Jedi respectively. What seemed like simpler times, now.

"Coren, my dear friend, how are you? Too rarely do we meet in person these days," he took the man's hand and rested another on his shoulder. "Coci sends her love, as well as her apologies for not being here herself." He gently pulled Coren aside for just a moment.

"Any news on your daughter? Last I heard she'd gone off on her own somewhere. I just hope she's taking care of herself, the galaxy grows more dangerous by the day." Looking Coren in the eye, the hand on his shoulder squeezed softly. "You should pay her a visit, might do you both some good. She needs her father, Coren."

Far be it for him to tell another man how to parent, however when young lives are concerned there are few lengths to which he would not go.

"Master Heavenshield. Could we speak a moment?"

The squeeze of Coren's shoulder turned into a friendly pat before Thurion turned his attention to the host of this grand occasion.

"I am yours, Romi," he inclined his head, then joined the Jedi Master away from the others. A smile as Auteme passed by.

"Am I in trouble," he jokingly asked.

She glided off to the side with the Lion King--this was a man who she respected extremely.

She smirked, Heh - "Not this time. Though, thanks for taking a minute to chat, I promise this'll be quick."

She cleared her throat.

"I was wondering if you could get me a quick audience with the Silver Jedi Council?" She bit down on her lip, "There's been quite a bit of uhm--strain? Tension? Between Galactic Alliance officials and the NJO...I'd like to petition the Silvers for aid."

A beat.

"Along the lines of organizing a small party and going before the Senate to show some solidarity. Very diplomatic and symbolic...the only thing..." She continued, "This would be a tight turnaround...something like three weeks or so, do you think it's possible?"

Tiland leaned on the vor'cha stick, watching the various folks move around the station as the opening was more fully begun and parties drifted back and forth to explore the massive structure.

"Indeed, thank you, Matsu. Doing well. Spending most of my time on Qi-Ko trying to piece together the psychology of the ancient Qi-Kans. It might be a puzzle you might find interesting. And it is well, Coren. Any plans to come visit our small monastery sometime?" He gave a quick grin before turning to Caltin with a chuckle.

"You're the only one who thinks I'm looking better than them at this point, I do believe." He nodded as Thurion spoke, although his brow furrowed. "Just Auteme? No last name? Hmm." Tiland considered. "Interesting. And it is nice to see some of the Alliance Jedi getting off of Coruscant."

He poured a small cup of tea and took a slow sip, watching the rest of events circulate around them.

Emberlene's Daughter, The Jedi Generalist
The jedi master had taken a small round of the garden area... the station was massive and much of it well none of them would see... the inner working fo the beacon were for the droids but also some of the jedi engineers who maintained it. Other biodomes for environmental training in the temple... a self contained lake in one that had a mocked up island temple where aquatic jedi could be... there was the vaults near the inner most sections. SHe looked at some of the other and Tiland Kortun Tiland Kortun with his tea, Romi Jade Romi Jade with Thurion Heavenshield Thurion Heavenshield and Coren Starchaser Coren Starchaser was somewhere around.. she woul,d have to show him since he enjoyed them usually the motor pool and testing asrea... let him drive around in some fo the jedi vehicles.

The only one she didn't recognize or really know anything about was Auteme Auteme whom shehad not met and the jedi master clasped her hands behind her back. Walking along the pathways as several of the flowers around the garden gleamed... the hybrids were from Corellia originally by their design but had changed being something of a small joke as the jedi master transposed several holocrons into the cells of the flowers and lectures from other jedi masters that would be a full library for anyone to be able to scan and read the cells. She had brought out from their engineers and forges though several of the Purified Adegan Crystals that served as a sort of proof of concept for the crystals that the Jadeite were creating to aid the jedi.

"I do not believe I have ever met you master jedi." THe dimunitive jedi master was good at many thing... being the small and unassuming jedi master in the room at five foot even and just over one hundred pounds gave her a look when wearing normal robes that were not form fitted and designed for her. She had provided for use by the various jedi orders a chance thanks to ROmi's council of the Kenobi Fleet and its assets which had several ships for operations and the other temples that had been created. She looked over and saw a small envoy pair from the Sibsi N Sanilër For'ta Nidan of Hapas... Hanna's people were always welcome but they were much much more insular since the queen mother Allana had disappeared and several new ones had come along.

TUrning her attention back to the woman though the jedi master offered a bow of her head and made it so she appeared much smaller then she was... the years were kind and she rarely showed it but she knew how to appear as many seemed to think the small tiny jedi master was.. frail... when compared to some like Caltin Vanagor Caltin Vanagor who was a hulking mountain of a man.... or some fo the others. "I am Matsu." Saying she was Master Ike was formal yes but there were several Ike's in the galaxy who had risen to the rank of master and that could be even more confusing to some... also she knew Shoma Ike Shoma Ike was always around and making a name for himself even if he got distracted with his holotubes and space book.

Warm as ever, Thurion readily embraced Yula as if she were one of his own. Given her ties to his family, she may as well have been; both the Heavenshields and the Perls regularly took in whoever needed a home and a family. Her own childhood had been filled with a revolving door of aunts, uncles, and cousins, blood or not. Once she’d gotten older, her mother wryly joked about caring for half of the outer rim’s bastards. After a few glasses of wine.

“Safe? Sweet? Though she snorted, the grin plastered on her face signaled that she was glad to see him. “Have you met me?” The Zeltron would have described herself as anything but, but who knew how she was viewed in the eyes of another.

“Yeah, yeah, I know, but you don’t gotta worry much about me. I grew up around Child Support here.” She jerked a thumb at Coren. “So I’m as good at getting out of trouble as I am at getting into it.” Debatable.

When Romi stole Thurion away for a conversation, Yula slid up next to Coren. The pair were on surprisingly good terms; even before the reveal of him being Kyra’s biological father, Yula had idolized Coren Starchaser. There was some upset between Kyra and her mother after the news broke, but the Zeltron matriarch seemed cordial and even familiar, at times, with Starchaser. Things smoothed over, bonds were strengthened or forged altogether. Yula floated along in the galaxy, landing closer to the core for her next venture.

“Y’know, here to support my family an’ all.” She motioned to Romi, who was speaking with Thurion a few paces away. Far enough for their words to be inaudible, but close enough to catch the subtle sobriety of their features.

“Think they’re talking about something important?”

Romi and Thurion were both important people. It stood that whatever they had to discuss was likely really important.

Stepping aside from the others, Thurion hooked his arm with Romi's as they strolled and she gave her reason for requiring his ear. A reason he had not expected, to be sure, and one that was cause for some alarm as far as he was concerned.

"Tension? Between the Senate and the Jedi?" He spoke softly so as to not carry his words farther than for Romi to hear. A quick glance over at Coren Starchaser Coren Starchaser as he chatted with Yula Perl Yula Perl . Though his old friend had little to do with this current reiteration of the Alliance of yesteryear, he couldn't help but feel he could have done something to prevent its collapse.

Back to Romi.

"My dear, I have lived long enough to have witnessed the once-glorious Republic and a unified Jedi Order crumble under their own weight, beleaguered by bureaucracy and beset by rampant corruption. They were undone from within, caused by pride and petty squabbles. I would be most distressed to see history repeat itself so soon."

He stopped and turned to her, taking her lithe hands in his, large and coarse as they were. A carpenter's hands.

"There are those on the Council that would hesitate to call the New Jedi Order allies, but I am not one of them. No one order can stand alone in these dark times we find ourselves. I will take your request to my colleagues and advocate on your behalf."

A warm smile, albeit brief.

"I should tell you, I cannot guarantee the success of your petition. The Council must speak with one voice, be of one mind. There will be disagreements and discussions before a decision is made, but I believe the chance is there."

The smile returned.

"Hope always endures, Romi. It can endure anything, weather any storm thrown its way. Standing in your presence here today, gives this old man hope. Bless you, my child."

if they're watching anyways
Auteme returned soon enough to the hall where Romi had made her speech. It wasn't long before someone came to speak to her.

"Ah- greetings, Matsu," she said, giving a polite smile. "Though I must correct you- I am hardly a master of anything, particularly not of the Jedi.

"However, I think I've... made something of a name for myself. I am Auteme Denko-Durren, of the New Jedi Order."

She listened to her and nodded. "I see, a shame it is rare I meet ones who are not some sort of master of things... this might be quite refreshing." She had a smile on her face while moving and motioned to the area but there was quite a lot. She looked around the area they were in. "Romi contracted for a few of the things here from me but for the dedication it is free food and drinks at Rescue rangers. Or there is some of the new force crystals that have been designed on display with some equipment... I imagine Coren will want to go and race around in some of the force enhanced vehicles and speeders."

Good Men Don't Need Rules
It had been a long time since meeting face to face with someone who I had thought of as a guiding light. Coren Starchaser, and Romi Jade.

I had been away from galactic politics for quite a while. They were fighting the wars among the various planets and stars that needed help, and aid. I was, well for the lack of better words, discovering more of the force. Looking to find exactly where I was in my predicament. I had been dealing with quite a lot. It seemed like years ago now that I had fought against a Sith Lord that used his own blood to infect me with Sith Poison. Anger, and bouts of other side effects made me doubt who I was, what I had become. Paranoia, depression and severe cases of Night Terrors. However, with these symptoms slowly being dealt with, these problems of mine fading further and further, I felt that I was needed again.

I couldn't just roam the galaxy and only "get by." There was more to this than just being a wandering "Jedi." If I could still be called as such. I would do my best to improve in all aspects of not the force, but being a Jedi. It took a lot to get here, to come here.

I stayed away from the others. Minding my own towards the back. Hands clutching one another underneath the poncho I wore. Hood up to obscure my face as many meandered and spoke to one another. Heavenshield, Ike, Perl, Kortun, Vanagor, all masters within the force, and carrying a wealth of reputation for being superb Jedi. Each having a weight on their shoulders that I couldn't hope to bear. Maybe later. Closing my eyes, I did my best to wash away those thoughts. My confidence had plummeted over the years. Mistake after mistake. Losing to a Mongrel only put the last nail in that coffin. And the loss... of many that day.

Auteme was even here. She had grown quite a bit since I last saw her. A Padawan that seemed to be able to take on the galaxy of her own. Her fight against the Bryn, and furthermore against the Sith. She was the ideal candidate for Jedi Master. It showed. Even other Jedi Masters respected her for going headlong into combat, and situations that could be perilous, yet she had an understanding that far superseded others of her rank. Jealousy of this ability was there. However, I once more closed my eyes and threw those thoughts away. Centering my mind on the aspect of today's point.

A safehaven for victims of the conflict with the Bryn, or even the Maw. A massive cult of people who sought to destroy all that didn't believe in their Avatar. A final shake of the head removed poor thoughts from my mind. Sighing heavily to avoid other... thoughts. Removing the hood, I opted to come and support my mentor in her endeavors, make it known that I cared about this, before taking my leave.

Closing the distance, I saw Heavenshield, Starchaser and Perl all talking together. Romi also joining to speak. I almost smirked at Thurion calling Romi a child as she was older than myself, but I let it fade into a neutral encounter.

"It was good to see this done Romi. I wish you luck with the station, and all here who will aid your path."

It wasn't difficult to pull out my hand from underneath the poncho. Producing a cylinder. One with a clear crystal within. Handing it directly to Romi, I continued.

"You gave me one to start my own path as a Jedi. Only fitting I return such gift for the start of something greater."

Valery had only just returned to the Galactic scene, following a meditative retreat to reflect on everything she had missed. She had struggled a little more with adjusting than she originally thought she would, but the time away had helped her center herself. Now, it was time to stand with her fellow Jedi again, and be beacons of Hope and Light in the Galaxy.

Fittingly, the station was a symbol that captured this well and served as a reminder to her.

Following the speech from Romi Jade Romi Jade , Valery would remove the hilt of now ancient design from her belt, and tapped the ignition switch. The purple plasma flashed into existence, casting light over the woman's scarred face as the symbol of the Jedi was raised up in unison with the other Jedi.

"It's about connection."

These words echoed through Valery's mind, as it was something she had missed. It was the reason she decided to look for the Silver Jedi, and the reason she was ultimately here. With a soft smile resting on her face, she'd finally lower the lightsaber and disengaged it, before returning it to her belt.

The orange-eyed brunette then looked around the room as the event shifted from a speech into a gathering - there were some familiar faces but she didn't know the majority of the Jedi present. She didn't consider this a bad thing, but more an opportunity to meet more Jedi.

But for now, she quietly remained behind the crowd to observe and read the room.

if they're watching anyways
"Isn't that the truth." Auteme laughed. "Though admittedly, it's never bad to be in excellent company."

She listened to Matsu, following along, albeit taking her time. So Matsu was one of the contributors to the station, and more -- friends with Coren, or at least on a first-name basis. And- it seemed like they were actually headed somewhere. Auteme slowed a moment.
"I should say- it seems like your contribution to the station was quite grand, and I'd love to explore and see everything, but I'm afraid I can't stay around too long."

Admittedly, she wasn't especially interested in Force crystals or free food. How difficult it seems to have fun with the little things. Spontaneity seemed a spectacular thing.

"Though, I suppose I am curious -- what is the extent of your... designs?" She stopped, beckoning back into the main meeting hall. There were yet others she wanted to meet, speak to.

Auteme Auteme

The jedi master thought about it while she was going. "The extent of my designs... hmmm." She tapped her chin in thought about how to approach it as Sasori developed a great deal. "For this station alone we poured much of our latest into it. Time dilation training chambers, pure solari crystal that will actively cleanse bled crystals and make the station incomfortable for darksiders to be within. We brought the latest in jedi vehicles that can be used for speed but also protection, vanguard cannons based off of high republic vectors and the choushin at the heart of the station acts as a living being within... the walls have the amnoid and agena which pushes nutrient rich fluid infused with force energy." She said it and was bringing it all up on a display from her earpiece as the kirano interface shined. "We developed for the interface a collected knowledge center for the jedi to be able to use and extensively crafted robes and equipment that can be used. Self refilling canteens for water, ration packs that absorb ambient energy around to convert it into raw matter and food for feeding millions. Advanced storage and one of the better things we have created is force enhanced security in our collected stars it manifests an avatar for a ship or vehicle that can be interfaced with and act as security."

At some point she’d switched from beer to water—they were in proper company, after all. Still, Yula felt no icy gaze staring her down, no frowns of disapproval from the proper Jedi in the room. Either they didn’t care, or they didn’t care.

Among the faces she recognized, a few filtered through as unfamiliar. This made them more interesting. One was a young man who approached Romi Jade Romi Jade and Thurion Heavenshield Thurion Heavenshield and retrieved a sort of capsule from his person, the contents of which Yula could not see from this far away. Kaleleon Kaleleon seemed familiar with her sister, perhaps a mentee of either Jade or Heavenshield.

The other was a tall brunette with three thin, vertical scars down the side of her face, tracing a path from forehead to cheekbone. The realization brought Yula’s free hand to her own face, palm gently pressed over the swath of dark hair that covered her left eye. Or rather, the socket. Her eye had to be surgically removed after Krayiss II, something about necrotic connective tissue leading to sepsis. Raising her water to Coren Starchaser Coren Starchaser with a smile and a nod, she took a few steps towards Valery Noble Valery Noble who’d been keeping to herself.

“Hey. When you said that it was about “connection”—what exactly did ya mean?” Her tone was light and curious, body language relaxed and open as if they were having a casual chat while walking down the street. Yula lived on the fringes of the Jedi by choice, but that didn’t mean that she wasn’t interested in how things worked.

Valery was looking around the room when she noticed Yula Perl Yula Perl approaching her. She had never seen the woman before but the relaxed and open body language made her seem quite approachable - not uncommon for what she believed to be a Zeltron. So as the woman began to speak, Valery dipped her head lightly as a greeting and sign of respect.

She brought her arms by her sides to seem more open as well, and offered a faint but kind smile.

"Even the strongest person can't change the Galaxy on their own." she said in response, but in a way that suggested she'd come back to this again.

"During times when people stood together and worked or fought for a common goal, the Galaxy knew periods of peace. But whenever fear, hate or chaos broke that unity, we've found ourselves surrounded by war. When people have no hope for a better future, they will not act against what is clearly wrong." she said. "I was born in a time of war much like this one, where hope was not always a given, but there were periods of time when things were very different too."

She paused and briefly smiled again.

"It takes more than one person to change the Galaxy, but one person -- or a place like this -- can help convince many more to work towards that change together. It gives them hope, and it's that connection it brings that makes a difference."

Valery then blinked, and hoped all of this wasn't too much. But this was what she meant by it being about connection.
