Strengths:
  • The Demiurge is an extraordinarily powerful and well defended vessel. The ship's exceptional firepower, secondary to the superweapon, is intended to engage hostile fleets that attempt to attack the weapon while it is being used or otherwise readied for use against any sort of planet.
  • The Demiurge, being made wholly of alchemized metal and crystal, possesses a degree of self-repairing capabilities and Is capable of repairing itself even during the midst of a battle.
Weaknesses:
  • The Demiurge is a lumbering behemoth. It can be effectively outrun by most combat ships, even battlecruisers - as it was intended for defensive purposes, its only offensive use being planetary destruction. This forces it to rely on other ships in order to deal with more maneuverable fleets.
  • As the Demiurge is a nexus of the Dark Side, fueled by it as well as channeling it, the vessel is vulnerable to light side-based anticapital weaponry.
Description: After being denied the opportunity to craft a dreadnought for use officially within the Sith Empire, Vanessa Vantai walked away a woman scorned. In that moment, she decided to turn a great deal of the resources available to her to the creation of a Sith warship beyond all comparison, a weapon that would allow the Empire to wreak havoc upon its enemies in the Outer Rim. Through Vanessa's journies within the Unknown Regions after her self-exile from the civilized galaxy, she had come across a great number of arcane texts, detailing many horrific Dark Side weapons and technologies developed by the ancient Rakatan Empire. While no functioning examples of these items were discovered, Vanessa was able to develop the concepts of how these devices functioned, having discovered their methods of operation and created analogs that could suitably function with the modern technology.

Within orbit of Lehon, the former Rakata Prime, metal from the Star Forge wreckage orbiting the planet was melted down and converted into hull segments, which were then appropriately alchemized through a team of sorcerers including Vanessa herself. The same was done to the energy crystals and the veins of Adegan making up the vessel's internal communication and power systems, melding Sith spirits within the ship and bringing forth a semisentient animalistic intelligence under the command of the Empire, trapped within the abominable shell of metal and crystal.

The Demiurge, as it was titled, was developed to fulfill two simple purposes - destroy a planet, and defend itself from hostile fleet assets with minimal fleet support. It performs the first through a superweapon developed off of Rakatan principles known as the hyperspace rift generator. Through a combination of Dark Side channeling and modified Force-imbued hyperdrive technology, the Demiurge is capable of creating a 'rift' of sorts, similar to yet different from a wormhole. The Demiurge generates the first part of the rift between its four massive prongs, then, through the focus of the ship's semi-sentience and the guidance of its computing systems, the far end of the rift splits open within the core of the targeted world - rendering a planetary shield useless against the weapon. This releases hypermatter from the depths of hyperspace into the core and disrupts its ability to function. The weapon needs only be utilized for several seconds of operation, though a longer period of use will allow it to disrupt the planet's core more quickly. Within a span of mere hours after a several second burst, the resulting destabilization of the planet's core by the hypermatter will result in explosive eruption of the core and mantle through ruptures in the crust, causing the planet's irreparable fracture and ending all life as the world is shattered like a broken egg.

In order to perform this mission, the Demiurge was armed with a myriad of different weapons. From baradium missile launchers and hypervelocity guns to solar ionization cannons and all sorts of beam cannon, the Demiurge is capable of engaging a large number of targets with a wide variety of ordnance, capable of overcoming a myriad of different defenses. The vessel was crafted to be able to withstand engagements from large fleets for long enough to use its weapon on the core of a planet. Along with triple layer shielding, the vessel's reinforced hull and subsystems were alchemized, enriched with sorcerous mechu-deru to allow the vessel to knit itself back together, sealing damaged walkways and mending broken crystalline connections.

Mechu-deru is also evident within several of the ship's features. Metallic tendrils spring from walls. Turrets emerge, ready to open fire on hostiles. Even constructs made of boxes and crates arise from storage rooms and hangar bays when the time is right to defend the ship from intruders - such is the maleficence of the intelligence within. Virus transmitters are capable of transmitting alchemized viruses, again crafted via mechu-deru, to enemy ships on a variety of communication channels, corrupting their circuitry and turning them against their fellows, or venting the vessel and leaving the ships cold hulks in space.

Within the core of the ship, nestled as far from harm's way as possible, are five hundred meditation chambers, each one promised to a Sith Knight. The Knight meditates in the chambers during battle - they may crush enemy fighters, detect stealthed targets, and even enhance fleets and armies with the power of battle meditation. The possibilities are endless, particularly when they work together, though their need for detecting stealthed targets is somewhat mitigated thanks to the ship's crystal grav-field trap. In the event of boarding, these Knights can prove a dangerous foe to intruders.

With the knowledge of the Demiurge and its horrific capabilities exposed to the galaxy, the question remains: will it be the Sith Empire's weapon of destruction and end the threat of the Outer Rim Coalition, or will it be the construct that finally destroyed its maker's pride in her work?

OOC: To clarify for the sake of the contest rules: the weapon cannot be used within hyperspace. It must be out of hyperspace and within reasonable distance of the planet in question in order to accurately generate the other end of the rift and deposit hypermatter into the world's core.
