Campaign The Edge of Nowhere [SJO/OPA]

Weeks have passed since Bodris the Hutt's Palace fell. Padawans of the Silver Jedi wouldn't have survived had agents of the Outer Planets Alliance not dragged them out of the danger.

A message has gone out to those willing to finish the job. To put an end to the slavery operation. Three stealth shuttles are now touching down beyond the slave camp.

There was no official name for the slave camp Jerriko runs on Smarteel. The prisoners had taken to calling it The Churn. Those brought to the dark place as slaves either died doing manual labour or were sold on to the highest bidder. In and out - one way or another - within weeks.

The Churn.

It was once a confederacy base, left to deteriorate. The walls have been well repaired. There is no escape from this place for the slaves. It only takes a small group of Dark Judges and mercenaries to keep everything in line.

Three/four shuttles are flying low towards the hellish place. Each with specific objectives. A recon team of Rangers has scoped out the camp.

The first group must take the south wall under the cover of darkness, quickly and quietly. It must be held so that the gate can be opened - and remain opened - when the time is right.

The pens are separated by multiple barriers. The third group must find the controls to open them or get into position to cut through. Slip over the south wall and hide amongst the slaves if you must. If the pens are not opened then the reinforcements will arrive before the slaves are clear.

===============

Stealth shuttles were efficient means of getting a job done, but too fancy and reliant on technology for Veino's taste. He'd arrived in his escort freighter, parked a long ways away, and trekked his way to the rendezvous point. He'd been doing reconnaissance on the base while the others arrived. His combat armor and great-coat had been replaced by his Saarai-Kaar armor. Not good for open fights, it was excellent for infiltration and stealth missions. But for now, he had the hood down and only the lower half of his face was covered to protect against the elements.

It was a tough nut to crack, that was for sure. High walls, fortified, solid central watch-tower. Potential Dark Side users running the show. He was getting worried that he'd gotten too old for these sorts of adventures, maybe even rusty. But if technical skills drilled into him the Fel Imperium ages ago, happened by the GADF, and then honed by training under old SIS and Republic Intelligence agents failed him, he could always break out the space magic.
And if there was truly a Dark Judge running that tower, he'd have to.

But for now, he was waiting for the rest of the team. Once they were assembled, then they could move on to secure the tower itself, and he'd hybridize his armor between his own and that of the ORION Huntsmen. Best of both worlds. None of the FrictionGrip, unfortunately, which was a major oversight that he would fix with his next version of his armor.

The issues he saw with the infiltration were threefold. Getting past the walls, undetected. Then approaching the tower without alerting the guards. Then clearing and securing the tower quickly and quietly. It was a difficult operation and the idea of a high drop was beginning to look appealing, but he didn't have any jetpacks or parachutes with him. They'd have to go old-school.

The twin stealth destroyers, the Sakura Imperial Navy's original vessels, hugged the geography of the desolate planet. They each carried a decent compliment of Marine Commandos, strictly along for back up. They had been dropped off in a depression within spitting distance of the slave camp. The Lily White remained on station in case of emergency whilst the Cyaron dispatched it's Marines and continued towards the camp.

About a full kilometer away from the perimeter, the vessel arced wide, deopped it's ramp, and came to halt above the ground. A testimate to skilled pilot at the helm. Ki, stood at the top of the ramp, decked out in her borrowed ORION stealth suit. Her tails, hair and ears had been dyed black for this mission. To say she was excited would be an understatement.

She turned to her companions (if any of them had joined her) and smiled wide, the camo face paint masking her normally bright skin,"Alright boys, let's go have some fun!" her demeanour was cheery, as she leaped from the end of the ramp.

Objective 3

Slavers. They were a blight on the galaxy, one that seems would never be removed permanently. What drove people to enslave others was something Reggie never understood, and never would understand. It was an evil that he would stop and try to prevent whenever he can. Now was one of those times to stop the evil from continuing.

Reggie was with the team that would be freeing the slaves. He would be able to sneak in more effectively due to his ability to use force conceal and force stealth for long periods of time, so going in unseen was made a bit more easy for him. Helping him to further blend in, he was wearing a dark grey cloak. Finding the controls would probably be the hardest part, though you just never know what may happen during a mission.

Reggie was going over the different ways things could go in his head, trying to figure out what was the best course of action. Seeing who his teammates were would help him to figure out their odds and best way to approach this, so he waited to see who’d be working with him.

Objective 2

The ship came to a halt and the ramps lowered. It was a truly impressive vessel that he arrived in, outfitted with stealth capabilities allowing them to disembark much closer to their objective than they otherwise would have been able to. Vouvry considered himself lucky to have been able to get a spot on the Sakuran ship despite also being very fond of his own freighter. This was not the only boon he enjoyed for the day as he had also been able to borrow an ORION stealth suit, greatly improving his capabilities to climb and more importantly also enhancing his capacity to stay hidden. While the Mirialan considered himself rather decent at staying quiet and unrevealed, his build could make it unreasonably hard at times - but that would be much less of a concern now.

As the ramp started to lower, he eyed Kimiko Taiyou Kimiko Taiyou - her appearance had changed drastically since they last saw each other. Not only did she now wear the ORION suit, she also had many parts dyed black. Figuring that it was time, he walked up to her, shaking his head with an amused smile upon hearing her comment. "You're way too excited about this" he said, keeping a lighthearted tone and friendly smile. Vouvry trusted her and knew that she would perform when the situation called for it. In fact, he appreciated her upbeat demeanour which stood in stark contrast to the doom and gloom which could be found in other corners of the galaxy.

It was only a short trek from their landing site to the rendezvous point. Still, it seemed like a rather opportune time to try out the suit and with that, the young Mirialan diverged from the narrow path as he slowly lowered himself to move in a crouched position in the shrubbery. Satisfied with the test, he soon reappeared "I see you decided to go all out on blending in" he said, throwing a telling glance at both her black tail and ears.

Upon arrival at the rendezvous point, Vouvry saw another familiar figure. With a slight smile on his lips, he greeted Veino Garn Veino Garn "Hi" - keeping a relatively hushed voice in respect of how close they were to the objective in relative terms and not knowing if they had many patrols outside or not. Looking down at his suit and then back up at the man again, he let out a stumbling "Thanks for this"

Turning to have a look at the base in the distance, it dawned on the young Mirialan how much more impressive the fortifications were in reality compared to what he had seen on the surveillance footage. "Look at that thing!" he said - getting as close to an exclamation as he could whilst still maintaining a hushed voice "How are we even supposed to get past those walls?" he continued and sarcastically asked "Hope that they get bored of watching it and take our chances?" Turning back to the others, Vouvry shrugged, unsure of how they could possibly get in without being detected "Smuggle ourselves in with the supply convoys?" he asked, spitting out the first somewhat plausible idea that came to mind.

“I don’t want to hear your excuses”, he said in a low tone to the nameless man. “Our clients will be arriving first light tomorrow and the Auction will go ahead as planned”. The Undertakes stood up from behind his desk in his makeshift office in the watchtower block. “I want the ‘goods’ cleaned up and presentable, hose them down if you have too”. The slaves in the pens were separated out into groups, men of good condition and strong would attract buyers that needed workers in mine pits and heavy work or entertainment arenas to fight to the death. The women to be used in any area the clients saw fit, he could not care less what happened to them, any of them for that matter. Any of the weak or sick had been ‘dealt with’ and disposed of. “Wait outside”, he commanded the others in the room, “Except for you”.

“You were in charge of keeping the slaves fit and healthy. How do you propose that I sell them if they are sickly and gaunt?”, he approached the man and with a sudden movement of his hand gripped his throat, through the force he strangled the life out of him, slowly. The idea of partaking of the man’s soup repulsed him, besides he had already ‘eaten’. Force users were by far, the most exhilarating to take life, the rush of the force empowering and heady.

The lifeless body hit the floor in a thud and the Undertaker stepped over him as he left the office. “Clean up the mess”.

The light of day had always caused him to feel vulnerable, exposed, and made him nervous. The events in the Hutts palace had disturbed him, seems that the OPA were onto the operation as well as the Silver Jedi. The Undertaker knew that they would have to find a new market, new source of supply, and relocated deeper into wild space. An inconvenience that irritated him and someone would have to pay for it. Someone had to be punished.

He grinned at the idea of capturing a Jedi from this insufferable Order, send a message to them to keep their noses out of his business, return the body to them devoid of life given essence. “Yes”, that did appeal to him. He pushed open the doors to the pen filled with the females, he needed to find a pretty one, see to it personally that she was prepared for a ‘special’ client that had made a specific request.

Okkeus crouched down behind a large group of trees. He survived the area. In front of him sat the massive wall that help all of the helpless slaves inside. The goal was to get that gate open and get them the nerf out of there, unharmed. But in order to do that him and his group have to capture this section.

Turning around he watched as the rest of the group made there wave over to him. They slowly walked, trying to stay unnoticed. Once they got over to him he checked his lightsaber. It sat against his hip, slightly swaying back and forth. He needed to get his Padawan a saber. But that could wait. For now, Caden Evesa Caden Evesa could use his second one.

Detaching the double-bladed hilts they split into two separate sabers. Getting Caden's attention he handed over his blue lightsaber, keeping his white one. After the boy took it he decided to address the group.

"Alright group remember: we breach that wall and hold it, then all the slaves are free. We have to move silently and slowly so we don't get got. Try not to blow this, there are many lives at stake. All of use have to do our part. Any questions?"

Amani was quick to respond to the call back to action. She was in desperate need of something to do now that she was out of the medical wards, and to abandon these people now simply wouldn’t sit right with her. This was a job that needed to be finished, and she was determined to see it through. Against her typical nature, Amani quickly took the initiative when it came to their objective: clearing the slave pens. Slavery was a vile practice, one that made her stomach churn at the mere thought, and renewed her with a zealous intent to bring this all crashing down.

Disguised as one of the slaves, she carefully tracked the guards’ routes, hopping into one of the pens once the coast was clear. Amani might have somewhat recklessly pushed ahead of some of the others, though she hadn’t gone alone. She carried with her an old rucksack, hoping it would blend in well enough with the crowd to go unseen, inside containing one particularly crafty Tynnan, Ripple. In her stead, she left her assistant medical droid, EmTee, behind. The droid gave those in the dropship a robotic wave and greeted them in a relentlessly chipper voice, “Hello! My name is EmTee! I will be staying behind with the ship, per Miss Amani’s request, but know that I will be providing you will unending moral encouragement from a safe and comfortable distance away!”

The padawan nonchalantly lifted her left arm, now a fancy new cybernetic, complete with a hidden comm unit (thank you Aurelion Nova Aurelion Nova !). “It’s Amani. Nobody panic, but we're in.” For once one to take her own advice, Amani did her best to at least try and appear calm and collected, though the tension was palpable and left her feeling understandably uneasy. Amani looked down on her arm, dissatisfied. It had been intentionally dirtied to match the grimy aesthetic that dominated this place. Such a shame, the arm was so fresh and new, but a perfectly pristine prosthetic would do little more than attract unwanted attention in the here and now. It could always been cleaned after, right?

Amani began to meander through the crowd, loosening the rucksack and trying to get just enough of an opening through so that Ripple could have a half-decent look at his surroundings.Psst. See anything yet? We need to open these barriers somehow.” Getting in was the easy part. Now they were in real danger, not to mention the other teams relying on them just as much. The clock was ticking.

Objective 1

The body that was presented was that of a small male in armored clothes, the mask only adding to the illusion that Phalsi was not a former silver, even if everyone that had any kind of sense at all in the force they would realize it was in fact a woman with them. Any that had dealt with her at one point (Amani and Acaadi) might have also picked up on her presence in the meeting before hand. Now though, she presented a silent visage, dimming the mask's external glow to non-existent while maintaining the great optics.

She had checked her gear, feeling for the small scout bot on her hip while making sure her notifications were set to silent. She had to do this ahead of time since her left hand was tied up with a shock glove. Made holding things awkward. Least the wrist device could be switched, and she could still take the glove off in a dire moment.

The mask looked to Okkeus Dainlei Okkeus Dainlei when he spoke, a moment of silence before a male voice responded from the mask.

"Kill, right? I don't feel like playing the odds if we play nice with people that don't play nice." Phalsi went ahead and asked, as it would determine the power in the shock glove she wore. And how guilty she would feel when asked why she did what she did later. If you were going to free someone from slavery, there would be people willing to risk everything to keep those slaves. Couldn't make an omelette without cracking a few eggs.

To say the bag was a comfortable ride was a far cry from the truth. The bag itself has a strange layer of something in it that he could nary identify to block out potential active scanners, which had been helpful given the amount of gear the little Tynnan carried on him. He struggled to not squirm, acting as little more than a lump in the bag when the mouth of the bag slipped a little bit, and a pair of goggles peered from inside to the outside world. Both physical and electrical barriers were in place.

A strange conundrum, as someone had done their homework it seemed. The electrical part of the barriers would be easy enough. He fiddled with the arc wrench, pondering on the physical barrier at the moment however. Would have to watch for someone, or just short circuit the whole thing and hope it popped open. Or at least gave part way, surely there was someone strong enough to help open the gates? His eyes scanned for droids for a moment.

"Electric, easy to handle. Getting the door open, I need the control panel. Wrench will get me through the electric, but I gotta slip through the bars after." Ripple whispered to her as best he could, quietly amping himself up for the next moment to come.

He could do this, he could do this. He could do this.

Just had to not get caught...or shot.

Caden couldn't help but wonder.

He wondered what would happen if everything went wrong. He wondered what would happen if he were to die, or Okkeus, or anyone else in the group they had managed to join up alongside. He wondered what would happen if they couldn't take the wall, or if they couldn't hold the wall. He wondered what would happen if they failed.

He couldn't let himself think like that. There was too much at stake.

He watched Okkeus call the group over. There was obviously the dynamic duo, Okkeus and Caden. Joining them was a person of unknown origin in a mask and another man with long hair whom he didn't recognize. A small strike team to take the wall, that was understandable from a strategic point.

He felt the metal of the lightsaber hilt in his palm.

It wasn't the first time he had held the weapon, even though it wasn't his. Okkeus had trusted him with one of his blades before, when they traveled to Fondor. Caden had only ever really used the training sabers at the academy so he hoped he wouldn't have to use the weapon.

"We can do this without killing"

He was against killing if he could help it. He was against combat if he could help it. Stunning was acceptable, at least it didn't leave any negative effects such as death. Death wasn't something that a Jedi wasn't supposed to cause, they were peace keepers, nothing else.

"Stunning, if preferable"

The shuttles had gotten them close, shaving hours off their walks. Such was appreciated as it meant those unused to wilderness travel would arrive in better shape than they otherwise would have, and that meant fewer chances for mistakes. It had been weeks before that they'd lost the trail of the slavers, and had frankly been a surprise to receive notice that the OPA had found them again. It probably didn't help that this planet was on the other end of Silver Jedi space...outside it actually. Or Silver Jedi Concord space. For all the differences, the name was reminiscent of the old Silver Sanctum Coalition. That had been a while ago.

The elfin Jedi caught up with the others on his assault team in time to hear the quiet conversation. Okkeus seemed to be taking lead, and while he was an unknown so was the entirety of the team. Not being the lead meant that Audren could advise and serve as a brake if need be. Plus he had no desire to lead. At the masked person's question his head shook, but the Padawan answered first. Answered well to boot, which was always a good indication. The shaking head turned into a nod, and he made his contribution to the quiet conversation.

"We're outside Concord and OPA space, and we are not judge or jury. Kill if it's a matter of life and death, stun and restrain otherwise. Let the authorities render the sentence. As a tip, keep your movement steady rather than jerking quickly from one place to the next, especially before we get to the wall; you're less likely to draw someone's eye even if you're not quite in full cover.

I personally recommend we breach first and position ourselves to take over key positions until it's actually time to take action. The more actions we take the more likely an alarm will be raised which will make it more difficult for all the teams."

That last part was directed at Okkeus. They didn't need to do it that way, but it would be better in his way of thinking. When the guard patrolling the parapet missed a check-in, or when someone stumbled on the unconscious body hidden in a closet an alarm would be raised. Guard counts on the slaves would no doubt increase and the slavers would be more alert in general, putting everyone in more danger. Him getting to the wall undetected wasn't much of a concern: he wore armored robes colored midnight blue and dark green, and that was itself covered by a hooded cloak. That same hood covered his long hair and dulled his fair skin when combined with camouflage face paint. Getting up the wall...well, the images sent by Ranger scouts had revealed plenty of handholds that could be used.

He'd abide with whatever decision was made, but they needed to move soon. They had a deadline.

Okkeus listened as they all replied to his question about...well, questions. He was agreeing with one major point everyone brought up: don't kill unless you have to. If there was alarm brought up outside that could out the inside teams and the entire mission at risk. Hundreds if not thousands of lives were at stake. They needed to be extra careful.

He listened to the suggested plan-of-action that Audren brought up. Though he had never met the Jedi before he seemed like a skilled fighter, which was good. Peering through the bushes and trees he saw the point of entrance: a small reinforced air duct. No other access point could be seen. Well, beside scaling the massive wall with barbed wire on top of it. On top of the wall was a guards booth, most likely were the duct went. If they could sneak there way through there and take out the guard, it would gain them direct controls to the gate. He began to go over the plan.

"Alright everyone, good poins brought up. No killing if you don't have to, slowly steady movements, don't draw attention. So here is the plan: we are going to ent...everybody quiet!"

Footsteps could be heard ontop of the wall. Peering through the leaves he saw a guard making his routes. Slowly taking his time he held his weapon in front of him, prepared to kill. Once he was out of sight he continued.

"Close call, but we are fine. What I was going to say was there is an air duct up ahead, the only entrance point on the wall. If we can enter through there it will lead us inside and into that watch tower. Once in there, we will hopefully find controls to the gate. And when the time is right, we open that sucker up. Sound good with everyone?"

Phalsi rolled her eyes behind the mask, thankful she had the liberty to do so with her face covered. Was all well and fine keeping people alive, until they woke up and shot you in the rear. She loved the Silver Jedi for being the good guys in a bad place, but sometimes the driving need to always be the good guys had just made her frustrated. She wasn't going to argue with them, setting the glove to heavy stun as she looked back to each one. "Make sure you tell me if you think you will trip an alarm. I can stop ones before hand. After, the damage is done. And don't worry, I'll set things to stun."

A plan was made, and everyone affirmed that the plan was to avoid killing, which made it easier when they were going to be focused on one spot. The need to be quiet emerged from a guard passing close by, Phalsi even stopped breathing for the moment, night vision tracking the guard and making a map of the overlying area.

He would likely be a problem when the group got in. If not that instant, he would be later she guessed. The guard passed, and the affirmation was made. The masked figure giving a thumbs up as she focused her force element of air before they started moving. It had been a moment, but not long enough she forgot the feeling of it. Never mind how handy it was to keep grit and dirt out of her mouth on some of the more backwater planets.

The wind rustled over the tops of the trees when the group moved, creating just enough noise to cover them as each was assisted up to the vent by the strong guiding wind that Phalsi put beneath each one.

Objective 3

Reggie received a transmission around the same time the shuttle landed. Seems like some of his teammates were already one their way inside. That would make things difficult in terms of grouping up, but he was sure that he could trust the others. When the padawan closed in on the camp, he concealed his force signature.

Eventually, Reggie was able to find a entrance to the south wall of the camp. Just finding the way in wasn't the same as making it in, so he waited for an opportunity to show itself. After some time of waiting, he saw a group of slavers escorting chained up civilians. The sight made him want to take action and release them, but he knew that would only cause alarm and result in an mission failure. Instead, Reggie moved in on the group while cloaking himself with the force and followed closely behind, being careful not to make any sort of noise that they would hear while he kept close. The footsteps made it a bit easier to do so, but being cautious was still a necessity. All it would take was one miss-step, or a accidental collision with another person to reveal his position.

The group was moving quite slow, so it took awhile for them to make it to the entrance. Still, he was able to make it and slip himself inside the camp. Now was the time to find the controls for the barrier and pens. He broke off from the group and into a small, dark corner so he could release the force cloak and save a bit of his energy. Reggie analyzed the area, looking for where the control room could be. Eventually, he made an assumption on where it was based on the layout of the area, and cloak himself again to make a move towards the assumed control room. It would take some time to reach the place, especially since he could move freely without getting caught. He hoped that his assumption was right, or he'd be wasting a lot of time and energy.

The Watch Tower

Mood

The group that was to take the watch tower had gathered, Eldin’s eyed the high walls along side the rest of them. Solid as rock. The idea of a drop in also appealed to him, but he had a feeling whoever was in there would spot them before they landed, and they would hit the ground dead. Places like these are weaponised, well-guarded which people that will not hesitate to fire. They have a lot to lose.

Eldin’s mind raced trying to find some options, the first one less likely to work, “We could bluff our way in?”, speaking his thoughts, just how he was not certain. “Clients come to view the slaves before buying?”. Although the way they were all decked out did not lend for that.

His eyes trailed up the walls from their cover position. “If we can’t go over the wall, any way we could go under it or find a weakness in it?”. Maybe there was a back door, less guarded or loading bay, something other then the main gates that faced them.

He turned to the others, see if anything he said might spark an idea in them.

The wind was howling tonight, it's icy sting whistling past Karra's ears as the feathered wings beat against it. She had already been on the planet for a day, gathering intel and getting a lay of the land, but while others needed to watch from a distance, she was free to employ a more elaborate plan to be as close as she wanted. The camp was, as per usual, a hive of activity, with slavers cutting to and fro, their product being herded around, and the usual assortment of supplies and guards moving around as they prepared for auction. Far above the camp, perching itself on the walls next to the pens, was a simple brown Convor, fairly common on most planets, though this one was a tad smarter than the rest - a fact helped by it not being a real Convor as all, technically speaking. It bristled, shaking off the cold before it surveyed the camp, locking eyes on its allies.
"Sorry I'm late," She whispered softly into the comm unit, hidden neatly within one of her skin flaps. As high as she was, a soft voice shouldn't reach the guards. "Amani, Ripple, Reggie, I'm above the camp, watching the guards, I can call out when it's safe to move. Speaking of which, Reggie, you're on the right path, the control room is just below the Condor perched on the walls."

Objective 3

Hearing a friendly on the comms helped to calm Reggie's racing mind more than he thought. Now that he had someone watching over his moves and telling him when its safe instead of taking risks, things became a bit easier. He would have to thank Karra later. He also wondered how she not only knew where he was, but where he was going. The padawan was afraid that he was leaving himself too vulnerable and therefore not being efficient in his infiltration. If that was the case though, Karra probably would have told him, so he pushed the thought aside. No need to stress over something that wasn't a problem.

Reggie continued to sneak his way to the control room, moving slowly and avoiding detection, which was made much easier thanks to Karra. There was a moment where he had gotten trapped between a few guards though. They were speaking to one another and had cornered the padawan unknowingly. All it would take is one slight touch, one brush of clothing, to blow his cover. Depending on how they turned when they left, he should be fine.....hopefully hey did leave instead of staying here. Reggie didn't move a muscle, waiting to see what would happen. If they caught him, he may be able to put them both in stasis before they raise an alarm. That was only a temporary solution though, and would mean they had to finish this operation faster. Fortunately, the two guards went their separate ways without brushing past him, and Reggie let out a sigh in his head before moving on.

After a bit of time, he made it to the entrance of the control room and duck behind nearby crates to give himself a small amount of time to rest before going in. He needed as much energy as possible before going in, just in case. Uncloaked, Reggie brought up his arm and spoke into the comm. "I'm at the entrance of the control room thanks to you Karra." Looking at the Convor perched on the walls, Reggie gave a small appreciative wave to the bird. He didn't fully understand that there was more to the Convor than he thought, believing the bird was just well trained. Given the circumstances, he didn't stop to think of the other conclusions he could make or else he'd run the risk of his mind racing again, and he needed to focus instead of seeking answers. "Do you know how many are inside, or is that for me to find out soon? I already see a few outside the entrance, so that makes me think its as heavily guarded as the rest of the camp." As he talked, he kept a close eye on his surroundings, making sure no one was coming by, which they soon would be. This place was pretty well defended after all.

"Good to hear you, Karra." Amani whispered back into her comm, "Keep us in the know, I'm gonna go silent for a while. Don't want to arouse suspicion by talking into my arm the whole time." She relaxed her posture as a guard looked her way from outside the pen. Keeping her head low, she shuffled towards the other end, holding Ripple's bag to the side as she made her way as closely to the gate as possible. The padawan nodded along with his explanation, "I'll get you as close as I can." Amani positioned herself so that the bag faced a wall, preparing to move a little closer. "You got this, buddy. Just be careful."

She looked around one more time, her eyes catching the gaze of another guard, who eyed her suspiciously. She gave a sharp whisper to Ripple, "Oh, I am so sorry for this!" She put the bag behind her to hide it from the guard, tossing it past her back, allowing the bag to get closer to the gate without having to do so herself. Of course meaning Ripple would be rudely awakened by a sudden drop to the ground. Amani winced, but now with Ripple closer to where he needed to be, and Amani free of a suspicious bag, they could continue their mission. She'd hoped it was near enough, and given the amount of movement going on, that Ripple would be able to sneak through largely unimpeded. For now, the mirialan could only blend in and meander around the front of the pen with the other slaves, waiting for their next window.

No objective yet

Azula sat well beyond the walls with her long handled saber across her lap. She had her eyes closed tight.

If all went well she would come with the reinforcements. Three key tasks were being completed first.

If the team didn't reach the pens and breach them then the slaves would be caged during the attack.

If the tower wasn't taken then the slavers would open fire on the slaves and call for reinforcements.

If the wall wasn't made safe then the slaves would be massacred by blaster fire as they tried to flee.

Each of the teams would find relatively few guards, as the reports had highlighted.

But the slavers had found something else left with the base. Something left inactive until it was needed.
