Eris bit off a curse when the blast door shields slammed shut, craning her neck to look in disbelief at it. Had she gotten her wires crossed somehow? She examined her handiwork; she had, quite literally, gotten her wires crossed. She reversed the polarity and tugged a bobby pin from her hair and used it to connect the wires a different way, and was rewarded with the double-whoosh as the doors opened, revealing -- well, Eris wasn't sure what it revealed, but whatever it was, they were pouring a lot of firepower out of the bridge now.
She was relatively safe for the moment, against the wall and out of the range of fire. When she turned, she saw that Jax and company had joined them. She gave Rance a quick nod. "Lord willing and the crick don't rise," she agreed, checking her battery pack and then slamming it home into the carbine. She dodged to one side, pouring fire into the bridge as she fell back towards Rance. It wouldn't do to get separated now.
Jax and his team helped; the firepower they brought to bear was critical. One by one the pirates securing the bridge fell, and they got closer and closer to victory. Eris was careful to pick her shots, not wanting to destroy the bridge command and control terminals or worse, set the ship on a collision course with the nearest star or ship.
Was it her imagination, or was the gunfire starting to die down?
