The Eye of the Dragon

Well, at least the kid seemed to be excited about it, or he was trying to convince himself he was which was just as good as far as Seilois was concerned. He walked forward, moving slow and stepping heel first as he had no desire to spook the beast out too soon. Ten yards from the mouth of the cave, Seilois knelt down and started to scope out dirt with his hands, ignoring the comment about dropping the grenades and blowing himself up which was very helpfully thrown in by McNeil. Carefully, he lowered the bag into the hall and covered it with said, reaching over, he pulled a rock and laid it on top of the covered grenades so that McNeil would have an easier time hitting it should, for whatever reason, his attention get pulled by something else.

Standing, he made his way back to the bikes, "Kid think of it this way, if you survive, you can pick up ladies with this story. Kung...well...he's a unic I believe," Unic? How amusing. By being the only Freelancer that did not trust beautiful women and try to sleep with his clients made him the end of a few jokes from younger mercenaries, but that is why few of them ever got to live as long as he did... even if he was just in his thirties, "I am just classy," Seilois replied blandly, "It takes some wooing to win me over."

Finally getting back to his bike, he pulled the suicide drone out, and started imputing the command codes, satisfied, he held the drone up and threw it at the cave. The second it left his hands, the wings popped out from it's side and the rocket boosters activated flying the drone into the cave, "Your on," Seilois said over the com to Kyle, an explosion rocked the cave followed by a large roar, and Seilois wasn't sure if the explosion or the roar... had been the thing to rock the cave, "Run fast."

Kyle shot forward, not daring to look back as he ran as fast as he could, which was pretty fast. You're gonna die. The Dragon's gonna eat you. He pushed the thoughts from his mind, and just ran for what seemed to him like ages. "Shoot or something!" The 'kid' shouted, although it sounded like a blur at his speed.

With that comment Ryan laughed. "Classy?!" He laughed some more. "Right anyways..." he calmed down, and adjusted his sights. A few tweaks here, and there. Probably the most accurate he could get it now. Aiming his crosshairs at the bag, and the kid was running in, gone in the dark, then the droid went in, or maybe it was the other way around. Point is there was no time to mess around, when the boom roar sound erupted, he was running back out, screaming to shoot. The monster was huge, hopefully this would work. Just as the kid was out of the radius, and the dragon over the explosives, blam.

Bwooooshhhh!!

The explosion went off, and he lifted up off the ground. "Did it work!?!? Dis it work!?!?!"

Seilois did not have to wait long as the massive beast came out from the cave, it looked like the drone had struck it on it's arm as it had a limp when it shuffled forward, it was... almost amusing to see the boy fleeing from it, running for his life, but if he was in his shoes, he would be running as well. Seilois put his hand on the handle of his pistol, but he knew full well that the odds of him hurting the beast with his pistols, powerful as they were, were slim. The dragon walked over the stone where he had buried the grenades under and before he could tell McNeil to fire he did.

The grenades went off in a massive explosion as the energy fields spread up and tore the dragons stomach apart. It was a testament to it's strength that it stumbled forward before finally, with a defiant roar, it collapsed onto the sand. Seilois moved back to his bike and pulled out two contains that he would seal the eyes in to cut down on any chance of them getting ruined as well as preserve them for transfer.

With the containers handles crunched in his left hand, he drew his pistol and moved towards the dragon when he was feet away, he fired at the things nose, but it did not stir, "It's down," he commed... and truly it was massive. He barely came up to the top of it's snout. Drawing his blade from his boot, he approached the dead dragon... he wasn't sure if she only needed the eyes or the nerve stem as well, so he would take both. It was better to be on the safe side, and with that, he plunged the knife into the socket and got to the messy work.

"Wooo!" Kyle cheered, falling over in joy as he came to a stop. After a few moments of regaining his energy, he ran back to Kung. "We did it!" The kid seemed very excited as he examined the dead dragon, rubbing his hands together at the prospect of money.

What the kid didn't know was whatever happened next, could turn into a fire fight. He stayed right where he was. " [member="Kung Seilois "]I'm using a private channel. Don't double cross the kid. If here's only two, yall take em. If only one, let him have it, he risked his life more than any of us." he stopped wondering how the mercenary would react. He switched back to a open channel. [member="Kyle Jerhal"] "Good job kid."

"We did it!" Seilois would have said something, but he was hands deep into an eye-socket with blood and other fluids covering his forearm, so he was... a little preoccupied. Pulling out one, ensuring to take special care with the optical nerve, he lowered it into the container and sealed it, "We did. The pearls are going to be in it's stomach... so... start cutting away," He turned back to his work when his comlink buzzed in his ear, "Kung Seilois I'm using a private channel. Don't double cross the kid. If here's only two, yall take em. If only one, let him have it, he risked his life more than any of us."

Seilois looked up to the rock outcropping a little amused. Seems he was worried that Seilois would betray the boy, but... he doubted his next employer, a Ms. Shaw, would be pleased if he killed the other guard she had hired, but that was something McNeil did not know. Seilois had never intended to kill either of them unless they drew on him first. If there was only one pearl, he was going to let them fight over it as he only came for the eyes, but if McNeil was willing to let him have the second one... that would be fine.

"Let us know how many pearls you find kid," Seilois said as one was the most common, with two and three being extremely rare, but it did happen. He turned back to the dragon's head and got to work on the right eye.

Kyle nodded, still grinning, as he pulled out his combat knife and dug it in hard to the stomach of the dragon. Ripping through its insides, it took some time for Kyle to find it, but he eventually retrieved one pearl. He stood up, looked up at [member="McNeal"] , and threw it up at him. Kyle was a good thrower, and so he knew if McNeal could catch, then he'd get it safely. "Take it, I'm cool with the weapons, and the experience." The kid nodded, then looked down at his blood covered hands and knife. Beginning to clean himself by wiping the blood elsewhere on the dragon, Kyle looked to [member="Kung Seilois "]and smirked. "Thanks for this man."

"Really? Thanks man!" He caught the pearl close to him, then stuck it in the pocket of his armor. "I can say I know a man who out ran a Dragon." He offered his complement, he was still watching about the dunes, watching for anything that may fire back at him. "Hey Kung...I didn't want to assume you as a bad guy, I just wanted to keep any tension to a minimum." He again offered a sort of apology. [member="Kung Seilois "][member="Kyle Jerhal"]

"Take it, I'm cool with the weapons, and the experience." Odd. The kid had a lot to learn about being a mercenary, the first of which was don't throw away your paycheck, but it seemed he had more humility then he originally thought, "Thanks for this man."

Seilois wedged the knife into the socked, and gently pulled the eye out again, "Don't thank me," Seilois said detaching the optic nerve, "I invited you because we are both going to be guarding Ms. Shaw. I wanted to test your skills." He gently lowered the now loose eye into the container and sealed it.

"Hey Kung...I didn't want to assume you as a bad guy, I just wanted to keep any tension to a minimum." Seilois lifted the two containers in his hands, "I am a bad man. I would never claim to be anything approaching a good one," he said moving to his speeder bikes to secure the containers on his bike, "But even I have my code. Betrayal is one of the few things I do not do, it is bad for the reputation."

Seilois mounted his speeder bike, "Come on, lets get back to town, I need to load my speeders up and turn in the eyes to the contact."

[member="McNeal"] [member="Kyle Jerhal"]

Kyle jogged over to his speeder, mounting it and twisting his body to shout to [member="McNeal"] . "All aboard the fun train!" He grinned, readying himself for another 'safe' ride.

Seilois looked around the small canyon, "Lets hurry. The explosion could have attracted unwanted attention, and we would be safer in the dunes then in this bottleneck," turning the handle, Seilois and his speeder shot off towards the mouth of the canyon, perhaps this time he would be able to meet the elusive client that kept hiring him for all these contracts for building starships, mining crystals, and now hunting a dragon. It was odd that he had done a few jobs for a client and still never meet them. From what little he was able to gather it was a female, but that was about all he could gather which only made it... stranger.

[member="McNeal"] [member="Kyle Jerhal"]

Kyle turned the handle, causing the speeder to shoot forward, following [member="Kung Seilois "]. "Hold on tight." He smirked at [member="McNeal"] , twisting the handles so that the speeder swayed side to side. The kid laughed loudly, enjoying his time.

The kid was surely trying to get them all killed, driving like a maniac. "Wait!!" He hopped off the speeder as it was moving. He rolled in the dirt. "Yall go ahead, I can have my ship pick me up, ima take some of that hide on the dragon. Its just as worth something as this pearl." He called out in his com. He ran back to the dragon, and activated his ship to lift off, and head his way. "Besides I can act as a distraction." He said as he finally reached the dragon, and pulled out his knife. He began skinning the hide, and putting it in a small bag, it still stuck out. [member="Kyle Jerhal"] [member="Kung Seilois "]

It didn't take long to get back to his ship, Seilois slid off the bike and got to work at unloading the bike. He needed to get the eyes to the client as soon as possible to ensure they were in the best possible condition. [member="McNeil"] had opted to stay behind to collect the hide. Probably intended to sell it as he doubted he could make something out of it himself. Slowly walking up the ramp, he stored the contains with the Dragon Eyes into a small compartment to guarantee their safety.

He walked back out and started to store his bike, waiting for [member="Kyle Jerhal"] so he could finish loading the ship.

Kyle arrived shortly after, parking his bike next to Kung's. He hopped off, nodding to Kung. "I'll be off then, thanks for the run." The 'kid' began to walk away, leaving the hangar.

@Kung Seilois

The ship arrived just as planned, and landed. He opened hatch, and began to load up the supplies of hide he had removed. "Whats the point of just a little bit? I have a cargo bay waiting to be filled with this. Opportunist is what I am." He mumbled to himself. Loading up enough to fill three crates of the Dragon hide, it was almost night time, and the heat turned to a chill. He got in his ship, and took off. Opening the channel the mercs had been using he spoke. "Maybe I'll see you again guys." [member="Kyle Jerhal"] @Kung Serilois
