CORUSCANT: JEDI TEMPLE

MARBLE HALLWAYS

It was a little percuilar; having the main Temple be on Coruscant after so long, bearing the brunt of noise within the Force by the trillion of inhabitants that ravaged the metropolis world. But in contrast to the natural terrain of many among the Jedi homes, it might be considered a novelty.

Armoured boots quietly tapped over the spacious halls, arms folded in the signature of Jedi serenity; at least, externally. Despite a few years Knighted, Jack still felt as if there were massive shoes to fill, which, being a guardian that championed peace and justice, was an understatement. Making his way down to nowhere in particular, adhering to walking around for the sake of it, exploration of one's surroundings a general pastime.

Offering passerby nods to his brothers, sisters, and family members of both. The outer edges of fresh robes fluttered in the stillness breeze, following wherever the Force willed. Perhaps, if the young Knight was fortunate.

Something may occur at all, today...

The sound of soft footfalls echoed gently through the Temple's grand corridors, the light filtering through tall windows casting a serene glow over the polished floors. Valery moved with quiet confidence, her thoughts drifting as she allowed herself a rare moment of peace within the bustling heart of Coruscant's Jedi Temple.

Rounding a corner with a purposeful stride, she suddenly found herself almost colliding with another figure. She stopped abruptly, her gaze lifting to meet the eyes of a younger Knight dressed in freshly pressed robes.

"Ah, my apologies," Valery said warmly, a small smile curving her lips as she stepped back to give him space. Her amber eyes sparkled with curiosity as she regarded him. "I don't believe we've met before. I'm Valery Noble."

Her tone was gentle but carried the unmistakable presence of someone who had walked these halls with purpose and experience for many years. She extended a hand in greeting, her posture open and inviting.

"And you are?" she asked, her expression encouraging, clearly interested in learning more about the fellow Jedi she had quite literally bumped into.

All but stumbling backwards despite the near-collision, the young individual sported a sheepish smile, eyes drinking in the new arrival. The Force was powerful in her, and by looks and stature alone.

He knew her right away.

"Y-Yes, Master!" Jack stumbled a little, offering a half-hearted grin, and bowed for good effect. Earnestly wishing he hadn't made so bad a first impression. Having righted himself enough, the human straightened up, motioning to himself with that bearded charm. "Jedi Knight Jack Wright, Master."

Valery's warm smile lingered as she observed Jack's flustered but earnest introduction. The humility in his demeanor and the slight nervousness in his voice only deepened her amusement.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Knight Wright," she replied, her tone carrying a touch of gentle humor but also respect. "And no need for formalities — accidents happen."

She stepped back slightly, giving him room to recover while she looked him up and down once more. "Are you just out exploring the Temple, or did the Force nudge you in my direction today?" Her smile brightened, inviting a more relaxed exchange. As serious as she could be, Valery preferred to be relaxed around her fellow Jedi.

It helped her to get to know them better.

By that enquiry, Jack couldn't resist the light-hearted smile that followed, shifting to his right foot briefly in bearing an easygoing, good-natured smile. "If it has, the Force is the best wingman ever."

Offering by a hand gesture for the Grandmaster to walk alongside, rather bemused with himself for opting to make such a line upon their natural, courageous leader. Of practically not simply the Jedi, but the Alliance at soul!

Valery's lips curved into a subtle smile, her amusement evident but restrained. She let out a soft chuckle, shaking her head slightly at Jack's comment. "The Force does seem to have a way of orchestrating unexpected meetings," she remarked, her tone light.

He was clever.

As they stood in the hall, Valery glanced his way, her expression shifting to something more thoughtful. "When did you arrive at the Temple, Jack? If you need any help settling in or finding your way around, don't hesitate to ask. It can be overwhelming at first." Especially with the sheer amount of Jedi that walked these halls.

But she'd happily be a guide.

"It's important to me that all Jedi feel at ease here. So if I can ever do anything to help, let me know."

"I transferred here from New Cog, around two months back," Arms resumed inside his folded sleeves, Jack was prepared to resume his walk, as he silently invited the Grandmaster to converse along the way. "I've spent the mornings exploring and becoming adjusted to the walls. They're very... Spacious."

For lack of a better word. The Jedi Knight's poignant smile, saying it all. Jack continued with a half-hearted nod.

In the direction of ahead. "I would be happy to have a more thorough guide, Master Noble," Unable to hide the faintest of mirth by use of the name, Jack added with a barely-restrained grin, whilst speaking in modesty, "But you probably have a billion other duties already."

Valery's lips curled into a faint smile as she fell into step beside him. "New Cov, huh? A beautiful place, but I imagine adjusting to the cityscape of Coruscant must have been… quite the shift," she remarked, her tone light but genuinely curious. She knew all about it, of course, having been the only one who served at New Cov before her time in stasis.

At his modest request for guidance, Valery chuckled softly. "A billion duties, sure, but what's one more? I'll make time for a proper tour — you deserve the full experience." Besides, it was useful for a leader to spend some time with the people under their guidance. It'd help them bond and made working together far easier.

"Have you been able to find your room already? Or should we start perhaps with the training area?"

By that last notion, Jack bore a cheeky grin, "Master, please, do not tempt me." He managed a small chuckle, hazel eyes gleamed in genuine mirth. "Yes, I've adjusted to my room; a nice, humble place, with the right air conditioner. Thank you, though, for helping me look around, given how occupied you must be daily."

Now here he was, making conversation with the Grandmaster. The others back on New Cov'd never believe him.

Valery smirked at Jack's cheeky response, her eyes narrowing playfully as she gave a small roll of her eyes. "Tempting a Knight wasn't on my to-do list today," she quipped back, her tone light. "But since you're already settled in, let me show you something worth your time."

With a graceful pivot, Valery gestured for him to follow. "We'll start with the Temple Gardens. They're perfect for reflection… or for getting lost if you don't pay attention," she added with a teasing glance over her shoulder.

The journey through the temple halls eventually led them to a set of intricately carved archways. Beyond them lay the Temple Gardens, a sanctuary within the Temple's heart. Lush greenery sprawled across a perfectly manicured landscape, mingling with vibrant bursts of color from exotic flowers. Gentle streams wound their way through the gardens, their soft gurgling harmonizing with the chirping of native avians flitting between the trees.

The air here was different — cool and refreshing, infused with the calming scent of blossoms and rich earth

It wasn't his first trip, but the natural serenity still impacted with waves; Jack found his steps forced to slow, inhaling the deep aroma or raw beauty - perfection - in the heart of Coruscant's bustling veneer.

With one deep breath, the Knight tilted up his head, eyes shut in the harmony that surrounded. Fingers relaxed placed against his elbows, absorbing the cherished plants and flora the Force drew life from, and provided onto. Like everything in the universe would assure it'd be okay.

Jack's face matched the serenity around, finding peace within the quiet, humble surroundings.

Valery followed Jack's movements with a quiet, knowing smile, watching as he immersed himself in the peace the gardens offered. She didn't interrupt, allowing him to savor the rare tranquility that the Temple's heart provided — a stark contrast to the constant hum of life beyond the walls. The air here carried the faint, earthy aroma of flowers and moss, a soothing balm even for the most restless minds.

"This place has that effect," Valery said softly, her voice gentle. "It's a reminder of what we protect — life in all its forms." She paused, glancing at the vibrant greenery around them. "What do you think so far? Settling in here feels different from any other place, doesn't it?"

Her amber eyes briefly flicked toward a nearby water feature, the sound of trickling water adding to the calm. "If you ever need a moment away from the chaos, this is where you'll find it."

"Hmm, I believe that."

Hazel once more opened, parting his eyelids to absorb the terrain, constructed in a home that doesn't entirely do it justice. Flashing his superior acquaintance a bearded smile, the young Knight inclined his head, motioned with respectful gratitude.

"It often makes me wonder why we resettled here, as opposed to more nature-spawn worlds. Granted the imperativeness of our alliance, but..." Jack trailed off, knowing the Grandmaster'd understand.

Valery offered Jack a small, understanding nod, her gaze softening as she let his words settle. "I get it. I've always felt more connected to places rich in nature — where the Force feels alive in every breeze, every leaf." Her voice was thoughtful, her mind briefly wandering to forests and distant worlds she had once called home.

"But being here, close to the people and the leaders of the Alliance we serve, carries its own importance. It reminds us that the Jedi aren't just protectors of peace but also of community and unity."

She paused for a moment, then smiled warmly, "Would you like to remain here longer? Or should I show you more of the Temple?"

Considering the motion, it didn't take altogether long for Jack to have a definite answer. Offering a light-hearted elbow, in a gesture for the older, more experienced Jedi to hold if she so choose.

For Jack accompanied such movement with a wicked, cheeky wink. "Whatever keeps your company more, Grandmaster."

"How charming," she said with a chuckle. Valery smiled as they began walking, her pace relaxed but purposeful. "You'll love the next place I'm taking you," she said, a touch of excitement in her tone. "It's one of my favorites."

One where she spent much of her time.

As they moved through the gardens, Valery glanced sideways at him. "So, Knight Wright, tell me," she began, her voice thoughtful. "What do you consider your strengths as a Jedi? How do you see yourself serving the Order and the people of the galaxy?" Her amber eyes studied him, genuinely curious about his path and aspirations.

Questions often asked himself, to himself. Pursing his lips, the young Knight considered what exactly were being asked to him, verses the kind of answers what one of her rank'd anticipate.

But then, a hallmark of the Jedi, was honesty. "I suppose my strength is... My empathy," Jack answered after a pause, offering a small shurg as he passed the Grandmaster a mirthful glance. "Since I was a child, I cared about things. Often too so for my own good."

Running a hand through down dark locks, for good measure.

Valery offered Jack a warm, understanding smile as they continued their walk. "Empathy is a powerful strength," she said thoughtfully. "It's what allows us to truly connect with those we protect. It can be overwhelming at times, but it also guides us to do the right thing, even when the path is difficult."

She glanced at him as he ran his hand through his hair, appreciating his openness. "And it's clear you care deeply. That's exactly what makes a Jedi more than just a warrior. You'll serve well."

Valery paused for a moment, then dipped her head forward, "Up ahead is the training area. We have every piece of equipment you could want to hone your skills. Do you want to take a look?"

Ears just about pricking, the broad smile that then crossed Jack's face became answer enough. The following response emerged, too, as a question. "If you're prepared for me to potentially show off, Master Noble."

Oh yeah. That smirk said it all.

Valery chuckled softly at Jack's confident remark, her amber eyes gleaming with amusement. "Perhaps another time, Jack," she said with a knowing smile, her tone teasing but warm. "For now, let me show you where some of our best come to train."

She led him through the final stretch of the hallway before sliding open the large wooden doors to reveal the training room. The space was expansive yet serene, with polished wooden floors that gleamed under the natural light filtering in through high windows. Tatami mats stretched across the central area, while the walls displayed racks of various weapons, from lightsabers to practice staffs. A Jedi banner hung prominently at the far end, its symbol a quiet reminder of their purpose.

A few Jedi Knights and Padawans were scattered across the room, engaged in sparring matches or meditative exercises. The hum of training sabers mixed with the occasional burst of laughter or encouragement, creating a vibrant yet focused atmosphere.

Valery gestured for Jack to step inside. "Welcome to the heart of our training," she said. "Feel free to observe or take a look around."
