The Floating Labyrinth

As the Corvettes screamed through space towards the Star Destroyer, one was destroyed early on by the returning fire. The Cruiser seemed to suddenly stop, instead providing covering fire for the corvettes' approach rather than its own assumed charge. While this was happening, two more Corvettes suddenly pushed in another suicide run towards another of the larger Sovereignty ships - over half of the fleet was on it now. One of the corvettes seemed to have a plan, turning left and beginning to ram its fellow towards the Star Destroyer, and using it as a shield to make the approach. As the fire began to burn up the shield, the corvette suddenly cut engines, sending the other rocketing forward as a projectile; as the first exploded just before direct impact, its user began rocketing forward again, hoping to take advantage.

The Draxites looked confused as a swirling purple energy seemed to surround their targets and block the missile entirely, and there was a lull in the fighting as they tried to understand what had happened. Hearing orders roared from one of the largest there, the Draxites began to make a guttural, throaty noise that resembled almost a form of war song as all ranged weapons were dropped - some drew vibroswords or knives, some with axes and others just with their bare hands. The horde of angry, reptilian reavers began swarming towards Gold Team from every entrance - except one, that had just been conveniently opened.

As Black Team began pushing forward, Kraskan could only growl quietly. Breathing slightly heavier now, he called a word that many Draxites that were familiar with; retreat. Draxites all across the area near the reactor began pulling back to the extensive and almost labyrinthian reactor complex, the entire force regrouping into organized crews of killers with heavy blasters and explosives, prepared to take themselves and whole sectors of this area with them if necessary. Some of his soldiers had become nervous, not just because of the Veridian Hunter that stalked them, but the Golden Horde that sweeped through the halls. Kraskan had none of it, barking to them what would happen to them if they tried to run. They didn't need anymore reminders after that.

Kraskan's right hand man began to feel nervous. He could tell there was soldiers coming now, and almost all of the security between him and them were dead. He had a large blaster ready, with his guard all around him. He was barking orders in his guttural language, and throughout the halls of the cruiser, once more the throat singing began to echo in preparation for the Shock troopers to burst into the bridge - usually the Draxites would run, but there was nowhere to go.

"Bombard the two ramming-corvettes with torpedoes from starboard side.", commanded Harkor, from down the bridge, to the weapons-control teams, who worked fervently - a resounding, diligent, "Yes, sir!", came as a verbal response, before a corresponding barrage of torpedoes came forth from the starboard side, to meet the carcass of the first husk of a corvette, and the corvette behind it, with the hopes of the sympathetic explosions, also afflicting or even blowing up the rear-corvette that was driving the ram. In addition, the barrage of torpedoes would likely bring an abrupt end to the corvette's ram, an immediate solution that the star destroyer needed in a lynch-pin situation such as this. It was a gamble - surely - however, experience had taught Harkor that gambles should be fought with better gambles, rather than a rigid procurement of policy and simply abandoning ship. The corresponding explosions would be a better solution, as the explosion would be contained by the shields of the star destroyer, rather than a ram and the corresponding explosion sundering the shields. That was not an option, considering that the ship needed to be in tact, in order for their plan to work and coincide with the objectives of the black, gold, and white teams. This was no time to be rigid like any pompous, arrogant officer would respond to a situation such as this. Action had to be called.

"Their efforts will be in vain. Escort elements, continue fire on the cruiser; it won't hold for much longer either.", Commanded of Harkor, again, to further assault the rear cruiser, as it would no doubt be waning as a result of the previous battery of long-range fire, along with the upcoming barrage from the escort and screening vessel elements of the Star Destroyer. Harkor figured such - as was apparent, from the assumed readings on the cruiser's scanty life signs.

Nevertheless, Harkor waited both eagerly and anxiously - with his arms folded, his chin tucked under a weighty, firm fist - to see the results of the oncoming assault that the Sovereign Fleet would ensue.

Dom had been moving with the rest of his squadron when the call to 'bombard the corvette' came through. Dom cracked a smile under his helmet as he swung the craft around with the rest of the unit; making way speedily through a maze of lasers, debris and various friendly or enemy fighters to reach their destination. Time slowed as he assessed the incoming situation, thinking back to his recent days of Naval College and how a fighter could still make an impact on something this size. He continued thinking for a moment, up until a voice buzzed in his ear; "Sicarius, dive off now! You can't make an impact on that thing!". He sighed, noticing how close he had come and decided to ask anyway - "But Sir, I'm close enough for a run now anyway! At least let me fire off." "Negative, pull off now!" A buzz was heard as his commander kept shouting in his ear, yet Dom let out a slow breath and concentrated, having enabled the targeting system during their conversation and arming the proton cannons. He set aim for an area near the rear of the ship, normally well armoured but now had been reduced down due the fighting and ship being rammed - the ammunition dump. He concentrated for a moment longer as the systems did the rest of the work, letting off a shot as he immediately banked right and slammed the engines, trying to get as far away as possible.

Moments later, the protons torpedoes collided with the ammunition dump, exactly where it should of been. The resulting explosion engulfed the ship and no doubt turned a few heads. Dom smirked, returning to his group as the comms channel between his squadron fell silent.
