The Founder: Part 1

After the gatekeeper offered information about a weapon, Daella pulled out a datapad. She immediately plugged it into the port presented to her. It took several seconds for the plethora of data to be uploaded to the datapad. Once completed, the holocron simply turned off.

With their business with Darth Krayt’s holocron at an end, Daella pressed a button on the pedestal. It along with the holocron sunk into the ground. Daella stepped back as the durasteel floor closed over the holocron. The chamber itself was the holocron’s vault. It was both heavily guarded by personal and automatic turrets and traps. Only the Voices, Hands, and Eye were authorized by the Dark Lord to access the holocron.

Turning to her comrades, such as [member="Darth Mierin"] and [member="Darth Veles"], Daella told them, “I’ll begin work on analyzing the data given by the holocron and see how we can make this a reality.

Upon saying that, Daella decided to get a look at the weapon to see what exactly they would be getting into.

As she read the datapad, Daella’s eyes slowly grew wider and wider. The amount of detail was incredible and almost amazing that the datapad could contain it all. Yet, Daella continued to read it. Fortunately, there was an abstract of the weapon itself as one of the first files to read. That by itself would have been galaxy-shatter, though.

This is incredible,” claimed Daella with awe in her voice.

This device… a starship,” she continued, “Will mean our victory.

Daella continued to read the datapad. A lot of the abstract was devoted to one specific weapon of the ship. It was something that no one in the galaxy, at least with a lifespan of a human, would have seen. Chances are, they had only heard of legends of it.

Now, the One Sith had the opportunity to make it a reality.

Once Daella finished reading the abstract, she moved on to the first part of the technical description of how to build the starship. After a bit, she realized that they would need to put this to work before the next campaign by the One Sith began.

I must depart,” said Daella, “I’ll upload the plans to our internal mainframe for our scientists to analyze."

Then, Daella pocketed the datapad. Looking at [member="Darth Mierin"] and [member="Darth Veles"], she told them, “I’ll work on getting the project started. We’ll use Chiss shipyards in order to keep this a secret.”

As soon as the Republic hears of this,” continued Daella, “They will attempt to destroy the starship. They will spare nothing to stop us from completing it. The success of it relies on your ability to be discreet.

Upon saying that, Daella departed from the chamber and began to make her way to Csilla.

It took some time for Daella to exit the Core and reach Csilla. The journey took almost a day. Throughout the entire trip, she continued to read her datapad. The details of this device were extensive. She took note of the material necessary. Many of them were exotic. In fact, she wondered if the One Sith could even acquire them in a covert manner. As she said, the secrecy of building this device was of utmost importance.

Once she reached Csilla, Daella got into contact with the Chiss in charge of logistics with their shipyards. The man, core name Velkoz, met Daella in an orbital shipyard.

Upon exiting her spaceship, Velkoz greeted Daella and offered hospitality. Daella had not eaten throughout the entire trip, and so decided to take part in the lunch provided. As they ate, Velkoz introduced her to several other official of the Csilla shipyards.

Wondering what urgent project Daella might have, Velkoz asked her, “What brings you presence to our side of the galaxy, My Lord?

Replying to the question, Daella told Velkoz, “I have a project that requires your utmost attention.

Upon saying that, Daella pulled out her datapad. Looking at the reference as a guide, Daella told Velkoz, “What I have is designs for a starship with the most power weapon the galaxy has ever seen. With this, we can obliterate fleets with a single strike. Not only that, but it allows us to access resources buried deep within planets.

Setting down the datapad for a moment, Daella claimed, “This starship will not only grant us victory in the war against the Republic, but revolutionize industry. With this, we can bring a vast amount of benefit to the galaxy that no other nation has been able to.

Velkoz and the Chiss looked amazed at the prospect of such a starship. They wondered what kind of device could have such a firepower, as they had no seen such a thing in their relatively short lifespans.

Velkoz then asked Daella, “That sounds amazing. Where ever did you find such a thing?

Answering his question, Daella told Velkoz, “The Founder of the One Sith lived in an era of war. Not only did he begin one in order to unite the galaxy, yet before his rise to power there was another Sith that managed to bring galactic order.

Leaning forward, Daella continued her explanation by saying, “Many know particular Sith as Palpatine, the Emperor that destroyed the Ancient Galactic Republic.

Then, Daella turned the screen of her datapad to the Chiss. It displayed a concave disc with several beams coming from it to converge into one.

During his reign, Palpatine created a weapon with enough firepower to destroy a planet,” said Daella, “Our Founder was able to discover these plans with his long life. Yet, he never had the opportunity to create it.

With a furrow of his brow, Velkoz asked Daella, “Why would we want to create a device that destroys planets?

Without having to think, Daella gave her rebuttal by telling Velkoz, “Why do we create fleets of Star Destroyers that can glass a planet?

Velkoz immediately replied, “I see.

Daella then said, “Yes. We have the power to devastate a planet already. Yet, our Vision does not demand the destruction of them. Instead, we are looking for means to both end the war with the Republic swiftly as well as benefit the galaxy once order has been established.

Leaning back, Daella assured Velkoz by saying, “While I have the ability to, I will be certain not to have this weapon be used to destroy a planet full of people without a just cause. It is such a waste of potential resources to do so anyway. We will simply annihilate our enemies with it as well as help promote mining the deepest depths of mineral rich terrestrial bodies.

After hearing that, Velkoz asked Daella, “That makes sense. We could already do so much damage, but I’ve always found your Vision to be fascinating. I trust you won’t cause unnecessary destruction with it.

With a few taps of his finger, Velkoz then said, “Yet, I have no idea where to start in creating such a weapon. Surely, it must be very difficult to create? The only thing of I have of that could ever destroy planets was the device Omni’s lieutenant created and a monster with the Force.

Daella’s eye twitched at the reference of such events. She then told Velkoz, “There is much to be done. Exotic materials are required, for one. Right now, I am not even certain on where to acquire them. Yet, that is not the first thing to do.

A console was in front of Daella. She pressed a button on it. A holoprojector in the center of the conference table emitted a blue light. It displayed a list of major companies that had been sympathetic to the One Sith cause.

The first thing we must do is to gather a team of ambitious individuals,” said Daella, “We must gather companies willing to support us - whether for political reasons or just for money.

The list covered several notable companies - including Titan Industries. They had not yet been contacted on whether or not they would participate in the construction of this superweapon.

Once we have our team, we can move onto the actual design of the starship,” claimed Daella.

I agree,” replied Velkoz, “A good foundation is always necessary. We will help in the gathering of companies. Do you have any special conditions to how we make contact?

After a second of thought, Daella told Velkoz, “Keep it as discreet as possible. Encrypted message, every measure necessary to make sure that no one outside our group has any real clue of what we are designing.

Gesturing to the room around them, Daella then said, “Keep meetings offline like this. This limits the amount of information on the holonet that splicers could get from hacking. I imagine that the Republic is working very hard to monitor every holonet communications of One Sith affiliated officials.

It will be done, My Lord,” said Velkoz, “Is there anything in particular you want us to tell these companies when we contact them?

Simply be honest but not in detail,” said Daella, “Tell them that it is a One Sith Military Project. Total secrecy will be required. Officials sent to us will be under an NDA. Yet, compensation will be generous.

That makes sense, My Lord,” said Velkoz.

Then,” began Daella, “I must begin doing my part to gather a team as well.

After that, the meeting was adjourned. Daella was soon back on a starship in hyperspace traveling to another corner of the galaxy. During the trip, she again looked at the datapad and schematics for the superweapon. The design of it was extremely complicated. A lot of the issues with it was due to the fact that the energy used had to be extremely efficient. Even just 1% of inefficient use of energy resulted in a tremendous amount wasted as heat.

Therefore, Daella began to think of places where the exotic materials required might be. Unless the technical experts that they would hire for this project had better ideas, Daella believed she may need to hire mercenaries to help her raid non-One Sith worlds for the materials.

The first place that Daella visited was Coruscant. She went to visit a representative of Arakyd Industries in order to gain their support. Due to the fact that Arakyd had extensive experience with droids, heavy weapons, and starships, she believed that the company would be a crucial part in designing the weapon systems of the superweapon.

Upon reaching Coruscant, Daella took a shuttle to Arakyd’s offices on the planet. She was met by a protocol droid at the landing pad.

Welcome, Daella Apparine,” said the droid, “I am glad that you could make it. I am G-4PO, human-cyborg-relations.

Where to?” asked Daella with little emotion in her voice.

Follow me,” said the droid, “Would you like some hospitality?

Again, Daella had a long trip in space with no food. She was starved. So, she agreed to follow the droid to eat some food first before the meeting.

When Daella reached the little lunch/conference room, she grabbed a plate of starglot and began to eat. After a bit, the One Sith’s account manager, Leesin, entered the room. He greeted Daella in a very polite manner. He was excited to have another opportunity to work with the Sith - knowing that they paid loyal and overachieving companies extremely well.

I am glad to be able to meet you again, Daella Apparine,” said Leesin.

Leesin himself seemed very strange. He was humanoid, yet had very pale skin and many tattoos. Of course, Coruscant was a very mixed world of alien species. This was perfectly normal.

What could Arakyd Industries do for the One Sith?” asked Leesin, “To my understanding, you have a new military project that could use our expertise on weapon systems. I remember you being very satisfied with our work on the Vanguard.”

Arakyd did a great job with the Vanguard,” replied Daella, “Yet this project will require your best minds and your utmost discretion.

With that, Daella pulled out her datapad. She began looking over the abstract of the superweapon once more. She then handed the datapad to Leesin for him to look over.

As you can see,” began Daella, “This weapon will require only the best of the best you can offer. There can be no substitute for quality. We are still in the initiation stages of the project, but with these documents we can accelerate the progress of the project.

After looking over the datapad, Leesin exclaimed, “This is amazing! I can’t believe the One Sith had minds that could create a device such as this. As difficult as it looks to build, I am sure our best engineers would love to be a part of this project.

That is great to hear,” Daella said.

Leesin handed the datapad back. He then took out his own and began to look at the current project schedule of Arakyd.

I am sure we can make room for the One Sith,” he said as he edited some time slots, “This is simply an amazing thing. I assume that you will be needing us for the targeting systems of this device?

Yes,” replied Daella, “That will be Arakyd’s main focus for now. Details will be coming later, but we require that the targeting systems be so accurate that we can hit a capital ship.

That can be done, My Lord!” said Leesin as he began to type notes.

Now, I remember hearing that this project required extreme discretion,” said Leesin, “How extreme?

Essentially,” began Daella, “You send your team to Csilla’s shipyards. They will be doing the technical work and analysis there. Construction might be on a different planet. We will pay for the expenses of this project, provided that it meets our starts for cost efficiency.

That can be managed,” claimed Leesin.

We’ll be in contact then,” said Daella as she got up, “There is much more for me to do on Coruscant. Thank you for your hospitality and business.

Thank you, My Lord,” said Leesin as he gave a bow to Daella, “I wish you good health and success.

Then, Daella exited the Arakyd offices and began to make her way to another company in the same day. This one had particularly more importance than Arakyd.

After a while of traveling, Daella eventually reached the offices of Titan Industries. It was here that the majority of processing and designing work for the superweapon would be done. Titan Industries, in a short time, had grown and cultivated its relationship with the One Sith to the point that it was essentially another part of the state. Yet, it still had the expertise and precision of a capitalistic company.

Once Daella reached the offices of Titan Industries, she was greeted by a very humble servant. She was served refreshments instantly and treated as nobility. Daella seemed interested in only meeting a representative of the company. Eventually, Jason Kolyat made his way downstairs to greet the Sith Lady.

Welcome,” said Jason, “What does the One Sith need my assistance with, now?

Jason had proven himself in the design of the Dark Blade ships. The man was an unprecedented genius of this age. In fact, many viewed him as the greatest starship designer ever. Yet, because of his success with the Dark Blade, his ego grew tremendously. Added to his inherently annoying nature, many Sith found it unbearable to be around him - especially since the Voice made it explicitly clear that his death would not be tolerated.

Yet as one of the most stone hearted, Daella simply gave a greeting, “Hello. We need a company to create a new starship.

You’ve come to the right person, then,” said Jason.

Then, the engineer extended his hand and asked, “What do you have on this?

Without any fuss, Daella handed over her datapad to Jason. The engineer began to go through the details of the superweapon. At first, his face was very stern. Yet the further that he read on, the more blank his face became. He eventually realized what type of starship that the One Sith were trying to create. Even with his sky-high ego, he believed that the task was quite daunting. Just the main weapon on the starship was going to be a pain to design. Yet with the estimates of its power output, Jason easily guessed what use the starship would have for the One Sith.

Handing back the datapad, Jason said, “You came to the right engineer. I’m sure you can get no other with as much expertise on miniaturization as me.

We need the best,” claimed Daella, stroking Jason’s ego, “That’s why I came to you.

With that, Jason lead Daella up the towers of Titan Industries headquarters. They reached a glass elevator overlooking the mighty insides of the tower.

This project is, obviously, going to be top secret,” said Daella, “No one outside of this tower and the construction site should know of its true purpose.

I understand,” said Jason, “In that case, what should be the project name for the public?

Daella thought on this for a second. Going back to how she got the name for the Unity, Daella told Jason, “Reactive.

Any reason behind the name?” questioned Jason.

You’re the engineer,” retorted Daella, “You should know.

Jason was begrudgingly silent after that. He did not have much of an idea of what Daella meant.

What about the actual name for the ship?” asked Jason after some time.

Later,” replied Daella, “When it’s near working condition.

Fair enough,” said Jason.

Finally, the turbolift game to the top. The upper buildings were where most of the management of Titan Industries was. It was here that the biggest decisions were pushed for approval. Chances are, the CEO of Titan Industries had to get involved for this project.

Yet, Jason was at least able to get things started in order to get planning set forth. He took Daella to a conference room.

Once they sat down, Jason got straight to the point, “So, it may take us a few days at the least if we post most of our Naval Shipbuilding & Combat Systems Division on the project in order to get an estimation. I assume you realize how expensive this project will be?

Yes,” answered Daella, “The Dark Lord is prepared to pay for any expenses related to this project. Yet, we will step in if we notice any wasteful spending.”
