The Founder: Part 1

The lightsaber snapped to life with a loud hiss, though it was already too late. Two of the Charric bolts flew out from the Chiss' blasters, streaking into the airlock and striking Mierin directly in the chest. The infiltration armor hissed slightly as pain surged through the organic mass. A similar noise escaped passed Mierin's lips, though she didn't allow the pain to stun her. Instead she pushed forward. With a dash of energy she pressed herself out of the airlock, bounding between the two Chiss soldiers and slicing into them with one smooth slice of her saber.

She cut into the one of the right first, driving the point of her blade directly through his chest and pulling the blade to the left, nearly bisecting him entirely.

As her blade rent the first guard in half the second began to pull a radio from his belt, before he could speak however Mierin turned, twisting her feet and rending her blade out of the first guard, and directly into the second. The heated plasma phased through the mans body with unsettling ease, slicing through his torso entirely without any effort what so ever. The Sith Pureblood merely smiled as the man let out a guttural cry of pain, falling to the ground split in twine.

With quick practiced steps the Sith Lord pushed on through the halls, stepping over the bisected corpses of two dead Chiss.

Mierin made her way through the facility at an alarmingly quick pace.

She had only studied the plans for the facility for a few seconds, yet she already knew the layout by heart. She had guessed that the leaders of this particular sect of the Rebellion would be found in the heart of the mining base, where the overseer of this facility had stayed and done most of his work. The office was large, large enough to hold twenty or so people.

It contained a holo-projector and half a dozen screen to provide readouts of current operations.

She expected that by now it had all been retrofitted to suite the purposes of the Rebels purposes, but that hardly mattered. After she was here this facility would be destroyed. It was the only way to ensure that it would not be used against the Sith in the future.

Mierin turned to her left, entering another hallway only to find a solid blast door sealed ahead of her.

The console to the right of the blast door had been locked with a security key, undoubtedly meant to guard the explosives, as well as to prevent anyone unwanted from entering the facility from the southern hangar. The Sith Pureblood simply smiled, and looked to her lightsaber.

Without a second of hesitation Mierin plunged the glowing red blade into the center of the blast doors. Almost instantly the metal became to glow white hot, melting and heating in its center, beginning to fade away almost instantly under the power of the lightsaber.

This was the greatest advantage a lightsaber had, this was the reason that even now she carried one of the unique blades. In the Ancient Empire they had used Sith Swords, blades created with alchemy and Sith magics to be indestructible. They had their benefits of course, they served as focusing points for ones power, as batteries, and as lightning absorbers in battle with other Sith. Lightsabers however, they had different function. They could cut through nearly anything, cauterize wounds instantly, burn through solid durasteel, and above all, they were weightless.

Lightsabers were a blademasters dream.

Slowly the massive blast door began to fall and peel away, melting and dripping onto the floor piece by piece, a hole beginning to branch out from where she had stuck her lightsaber. A minute passed, then two, then three. The blast door fell apart, dripping onto the cold ground as superheated slag.

The Sith Pureblood stepped away for a moment, allowing the pieces to cool

Once the pieces were sufficiently cooled down The Sith Pureblood slipped through the hole.

It was a quick transition, one born of her lithe physique. She was surprised to find that no guards were stationed here, and that on the other side of the thick blast door red flashing lights were the only thing that lit the halls. Her pupils grew small for a moment, and she adjusted to the darkness. In the distance she could hear the sound of screams and blaster fire.

She smiled.

It seemed that her troops were making quick progress through the enemies, cutting through the enemy troops swiftly. If she could hear them here, it meant that they were making quick progress. Perhaps more than a few of the Acolytes had actually managed to survive, though she very much doubted all of them had made it this far.

The Pureblood quickened her pace, her step becoming faster and faster as she headed towards the command center.

Unsurprisingly the Sith Lord made quick progress, encountering no resistance. No guards, no civilians, not even womp rats scurried about the facility. A sensation of nervousness began to rush through her. Something was not right, there should have been people, there should have been more Chiss. Her lips turned down as she slowly rounded the last corner.

There she found the entrance to the command center, and in front of it a dozen heavily armored Chiss guards.

Almost immediately she hugged the wall, pressing herself against it and catching her breath. That explained her suspicions. The guards had been recalled from outside the facility, they had been placed directly in front of the command center to prevent anyone from getting inside. It was a desperate act, a last stand for the rebel leaders.

The thrum of her lightsaber echoed through the halls, and soon she heard sounds of Cheunh called out into the halls.

Her lips tugged into a smile.

The Sith Lord stepped around the corner, and began the slaughter.

As soon as she turned the Chiss began to fire their weapons. Rapid flecks of blue light flew across the halls, dotting and sparking against the heavy metal bulkheads behind her. Well aimed Charric bolts were deflected back against the ones that fired them, errant shots struck all around her, and quickly Mierin managed to push her way towards the onslaught of guards.

In the narrow corridor, it was she who controlled the situation.

She dashed towards them, the force stirring within her and pressing her forward. The tip of her lightsaber bit into the first guard, and then the dying began.

Within mere moments Mierin managed to cut into the Chiss, her lightsaber speared one, then two, then sliced into a third. She used the glowing red plasma alongside the force to push her way through the guards, cutting slicing, and removing limbs on a whim. They died in droves, no match for the skill and speed of a Sith Lord.

The guards died. There was no other word for it. Within seconds of her engaging them the Chiss all fell to her blade. Each one was sliced in two. Several lost their heads, others were bisected at their midsection, and one was even cut vertically in half. It did not matter how she did it, only that in the end, sixteen Rebel Chiss lay dead on the ground, their cauterized and burned corpses littering the tight hallway before the command center.

She waited a moment, her lips tugging into a smile before she stepped over one of the corpses and plunged her blade into the durasteel door of the command center. In one swift circle she sliced the door creating a massive entrance for her.

Beyond the door she heard yells, screams of rage and anger.

Mierin lifted her hand, pressing her palm outward and pushing towards the door. The durasteel pieces flew into the room, crashing into the opposite wall and killing one of the rebel leaders in the process. Another yell, and Mierin stepped inside, brimming with confidence.

Mierin stepped into the room with a smug look on her face.

“Ladies and gentlemen.” Mierin said quietly looking about. “You're all under arrest.”

They did not move, simply stared.

The Gathered Chiss knew what was about to happen, they knew that they were done for. There was no escape, the sounds of screaming and yelling now was just around the corner, and she could sense Orlin coming ever closer. It meant that the Acolytes had likely all died, or suffered injury. Orlin would not have disobeyed her otherwise.

As usual, I had missed all the fun. Sorting through the mess I'd found in that abandoned workshop, as well as reattaching my head, had taken slight priority over running after old holocrons and Chiss facilities.

But I'd heard about a possibly lucrative contract for Titan Industries. Shardworks, my pet project, was a subsidiary of Titan. I was sent not only for battle, but also to receive any specific requests that [member="Darth Mierin"] had for the Titan group.

And then I felt the two strongest presences I ever had. I'd met our leader before, and she'd had a presence similar to one of those I was feeling now, but who was the other?

I ran through destroyed corridors, sliced and lacerated blast doors, and dead bodies, towards the Empress and her unknown assailant.

“What is the situation at the compound?” asked Graves. He prepared himself for battle.

“I can’t sense much,” claimed Tristana, “No sign of a Jedi - or even much life.”

“Possibly droids and automatons guarding the place then,” said Ezreal.

Daella looked at the compound from the Elite Four’s vantage point. She saw several avenues they could use to gain entrance to it. She understood that a frontal assault with only five people would result in a quick death.

To avoid failing before they could even get inside of the compound, Daella saw a way for them to slip in with minimal initial resistance. She saw a tower of the compound being extremely close to a cliff.

Pointing at the tower, Daella said, “We use that to get inside.”

The Elite Four looked over to the tower and noticed a window to it that would not be too far from the cliff.

Daella was the first to move toward the cliff. The rest of the Elite Four closely followed. They kept low to the ground in order to avoid detection. They knew that the chances of getting inside the easy way would have been impossible if they were to be discovered.

Once they approached the cliff, Daella took the time to observe the walls of the compound for any sign of guards that they might have to deal with. She noticed a few that were posted near the tower - yet they were not very concerned about safeguarding the compound.

Most likely, they had not received any issues with people attempt to assault their pirate compound before. The guards were little more than a formality at this point.

Looking to the Elite Four, Daella whispered to them, “One at a time. Be as quiet as possible.”

After saying that, Daella was the first to go to the tower’s window. She checked one more time before making the leap. Once it was clear for her to do so, Daella rushed forward and leaped toward the tower. She slammed into the wall yet managed to take a grip on the wall’s ledges.

The guard nearest to the tower hardly noticed anything happening.

Slowly, Daella moved herself toward the window of the tower. Once she was able to, she slipped into the building. She pulled out the hilt of her lightsaber instantly and prepared herself for a fight.

However, there was no one nearby that would have fought her. It was just an empty room with a repulsorlift in the middle.

Looking out the window, Daella signaled to the Elite Four to start crossing over. Hercarim was the first to get up and ready himself for the jump.

Being nimble, Hecarim had no fear that he would be able to make the jump without issue. He smiled as he saw his Master on the other side waving for him to jump over. Just as Daella did, he checked to see if the coast was clear.

When it was certain that no one would see him make the jump, Hercarim ran forth and made the leap. Just like Daella, he took hold of the ledges on the wall and made his way over to the window.

Tumbling into the room, Hecarim pulled out two lightsaber hilts. He was ready to fight and was somewhat disappointed that there were still no enemies that he could put down.

Once again, Daella looked out the window of the tower. She signaled for the next of the Elite Four to make the jump. This time, it was Ezreal that was up to jump over to the compound.

Ezreal was not the best physical fighter. Yet, he normally had a gadget prepared for every moment. He had a couple gauntlets that would assist him with the jump. Since the wall of the compound was made out of durasteel, it was easy to use magnets on it. Ezreal’s gauntlets were able to act like a magnet in moments that he needed them to.

Therefore, once he activated his gauntlets, Ezreal checked to make sure that there were still no guards watching. The coast was clear. He ran forward and jumped to the tower. He made the jump and stuck to the wall much like a spider.

With ease, he moved over the window and hopped in. Instead of a lightsaber, Ezreal simply charged up his gauntlets. He had a wrist blaster on each. Daella looked out to the remaining two Elite Four and signaled for the next one to jump.

Tristana was the next to make the leap. However, the woman always had something up her sleeve to make things easier - at least on her. Though to others, it always looked like she was trying to be flashy.

Looking around, Tristana made sure that the guards were still not looking at their direction. The one nearest to the tower continued to look at his holotablet and play casual hologames on it. Tristana knew that she would have no issue in crossing the gap to the other side.

Using the dark side of the Force, Trist enveloped herself in her own telekinetic influence of the Force. Her body rose from the ground and began to levitate. Slowly, Trist glided toward the window of the tower and made a very soft landing. There was absolutely no noise, unlike how the rest had done. She sported a smug look once she made it inside.

Now, it was time for the final of the Elite Four to make the crossing. Graves stood up from his spot. At this point, it was pointless for him to look out for any guards that might have noticed him. Any that had been eyeing the cliff would had spotted the brute immediately.

Graves got in a three-point stance and made the charge forward. Without hesitation, he leaped for the tower and slammed right into it. A loud thud echoed throughout the air.

In that moment, a guard noticed the sound. He looked to where the source came from and saw Graves climbing into the window of the tower.

Immediately, the guard sounded the alarm. The compound was alert to Daella and her team’s presence. Graves pulled out two lightsabers and activated them. Daella and Hecarim did the same with theirs.

Daella lead the group down the tower. They met several guards, yet they were easily dispatched by the combined might of the group. It seemed that they were an unstoppable force at the moment.

The compound’s guards still seemed to be unsure of the location of Daella and her entourage. The chaos allowed them to continue to move forward without issue. They delve into the brightly lit halls of the compound and eventually came across a junction.

“Perhaps we should split up,” suggested Hecarim.

Daella looked at the signs of the intersection and recalled the layout of the compound. She thought of how things might have worked for it and what would be the most efficient path to the control room. There, they would find the leader of this compound and be able to extract information on the possible whereabouts of the focusing lens that Daella sought after.

After some deliberation, Daella made an educated guess on where the SIth would have to go in order to reach the control room. She took the path to the left.

“Follow,” she commanded of the Elite Four. They listened to their master without any objection.

It was not long before the Elite Four saw a group of soldiers heading their way. One thing that interested the group was how well armed that they were.

Rushing forward, Graves attempted to disrupt their tactics simply by being a large menace. Using his dual lightsaber techniques, Graves was able to batter away the tons of blaster fire that sped toward him.

Meanwhile, Ezreal began to fire his wrist blaster at the soldiers before them. His aim was extremely good and he was able to put down at least half of the small group in an instant.

The rest were cut down by Daella and Hecarim.

Trist pouted for a moment, not having the opportunity to fight any of the attackers that just came by. Yet, Daella did not show any amount of care for Tristana’s pouting. They continued to move deeper into the facility.

Another obstacle was soon before the group. This time, it was a man in a small mech. The mech warrior knew that he had the advantage of territory. The group was now in a wide open room without much cover. This meant that the mech could fire its rocket launchers without fear - and it would also not have much issue targeting the group with its blaster lasers as well.

As usual, Graves began to charge forward. He attempted to distract the mech in order to allow for the rest of the team to get into a position of advantage. Graves soon found himself in a dangerous situation as a flurry of rockets and blaster bolts raced toward him.

Meanwhile, Tristana attempted to use the full breadth of her Force powers. She ran forward and began to fire bolts of lightning at the mech. However, it was well insulated from shock from the outside. The mech’s surface was only scorched as it continued to unload its full firepower upon Graves.

Using the opportunity, Ezreal began to work on his writcomm in an attempt to hack into the mech. He soon found himself at a loss on what to do. The mech itself had a very robust security system - yet it was also very effective. It did not have any of the weaknesses that one would expect from a system that was more modern.

Hercarim rushed forward in order to assist his comrade in the fight. He attempted to leap at the mech in order to cut into the cockpit.
