The boardroom in Yumfla was an exercise in ostentatious reconstruction. High ceilings of polished durasteel, floor-to-ceiling transparisteel windows overlooking the battered cityscape, and a long obsidian conference table at its heart symbolized a future that Loryn Praji had promised to shape. The capital still bore the scars of rebellion, but from this room, the Guildmaster intended to transform ruin into dominion.

Loryn sat at the head of the table, dressed in a sharp ensemble that combined Sith austerity with Core World sophistication. Flanking her were two trusted associates—silent presences whose reputations and expertise alone were enough to command respect. Around the table were Susevfi's corporate representatives, a mix of wary investors and local leaders with expressions ranging from skepticism to guarded optimism.

"Ladies and gentlemen," Loryn began, her voice smooth and commanding, "I'll spare you the preamble. Susevfi stands on the precipice of transformation. What was once a symbol of resistance will become a beacon of economic power—not just for the Guild, but for every one of you in this room."

She gestured subtly toward a holographic display that came to life above the table, projecting a detailed map of the planet marked with zones of interest. "The Guild will fund the reconstruction of critical infrastructure, targeting key sectors: industrial redevelopment, energy production, and trade networks. Investment zones will offer minimal taxes and streamlined regulations, attracting galactic corporations to operate here. Your businesses will benefit from generous loans to expand your operations—loans guaranteed by the Guild."

Loryn leaned forward slightly, letting her piercing gaze sweep the room. "This is not merely charity, nor a temporary solution. It is an investment in stability, security, and prosperity—a future where Susevfi is not a forgotten backwater but a thriving hub of Sith Order commerce."

A murmur rippled through the room as she continued, her tone softening but losing none of its precision. "However, this plan requires commitment. For those who join us, the Guild will offer unparalleled opportunities—exclusive contracts, access to Sith trade routes, and a say in shaping the new Susevfi. But for those who hesitate... well, history has not been kind to those who reject progress."

Loryn let the silence hang for a moment, allowing the weight of her words to settle. She gestured to her associates, inviting them to contribute if they wished, but her attention remained on the room, reading every flicker of hesitation and ambition in the faces of the gathered leaders.

"This is your chance," she concluded, her voice like a velvet blade. "Seize it, and you will thrive. Refuse, and you will be left behind. We are not here to simply rebuild—we wish to redefine. Wouldn't you both agree?"

Her lips curved into a faint smile as she turned to face her associates, her new allies quite possibly. She settled back in her chair, hands steepled before her. The bait was set, the trap laid. Now, all that remained was to watch them bite.

Nanmen straightened his elegant white robe as he entered the boardroom on Yumfla. The air was thick with the aroma of ambition and the lingering tension from recent strife, as the Sith Empire had arrived on this planet to impose order and accountability.

However, this endeavor was not without its demands, as they sought to collect the fees and tithes owed to them by the various guilds and independent merchants who had managed to endure, scrambling to salvage what they could.

Such desperation likely motivated the Guildmaster to arrive on this world, as these individuals were considerably more inclined to submit to the Emperor's whims and integrate into the broader trade network that promised prosperity, though this was only due to the fact that they had allowed foreign corporations to develop the worlds underneath their control.

However, some were understandably reluctant to join, aware that the Alliance would offer them double for confidential information regarding the Sith. Nanmen could not fault them for their hesitation, as he himself would have acted similarly, given that his upbringing had instilled in him a singular focus on wealth and material gain.

Even the subtle threats from Loyrn did not sway them, as one of the corporate bureaucrats spoke up from the end of the table. A human from the looks of it, fair and roudly built having not had to work in the muck fields like their employees and could afford to splurge on every little whim.

"All of this sounds far too good to be true, espeically coming from a member of the Sith Empire. What measures will be taken to protect our wealth from confiscation for the war effort, or the threat of piracy as most of the Sith Navy is fighting wars with the Alliance." A gruff tone accompanied their statement as they cast a glance at the others present. Who presumably harbored similar inquiries but had chosen not to be the first to speak.

Nanman responded with a gentle smile, "The Sith Empire provides a far more secure environment for corporations compared to the Galactic Alliance, which maintains an anti-corporate stance within the Federal Assembly and has enacted laws restricting corporate ownership of planetary assets. It would be more detrimental to your financial interests to abandon our protection than to remain and accept the terms being presented to you."

He concluded with a deliberate hand gesture on the table, emphasizing that the Sith Empire represents the most favorable opportunity for corporate expansion, even surpassing the largest superpower and economy within the Galactic Alliance, whose current leadership is notably opposed to corporate interests.

This discussion was boring. Not painfully boring, that would be what he took his meds and bore his arm in a sling over, but the uninteresting times especially after the last time he was on the planet. Unlike the speaker at the head of the table, Trayze Tesar, the Kiffar who had borne the ugly and unsung jobs of the Sith Empire, gave a more wearied yet relaxed posture - arm slung in a cast, a few new scars and burn marks, even a bandage if one were to look in just the right places. Where the woman was poised in her performative speech, Trayze lingered like a lounging predator, his eased posture born of the injuries he had gained rather than any means to usurp the speaker.

She was, after all, a Non-Force User, and those that have climbed to the heights that they did had Trayze's respect - even if those days of being considered a "non-Force user" were far behind him.

He wasn't a stockbroker, merely a Fleet-Captain Under Marque, courtesy of the Sith-Imperial Banking Clan of whom he was technically representing. Well, not really, the actual representative sat two chairs to Loryn Praji Loryn Praji 's left, with him a stone's throw behind.

In addition to being an Acolyte affiliated with one of the Empire's commercial powerhouses, he showed the silent determination that though the resistance fought hard, the Sith were willing to take a beating and keep going to see justice done. He was living proof of that after all.

Despite this being considered "work", Trayze enjoyed it - it was mind numbing business proposition, a welcome respite from the monotony of the hospital. All he had to do was keep his eyes peeled, sense any undue intentions the investors may have, and just... be.

Loryn Praji's gaze swept the room as Nanmen Ma concluded his polished defense of the Sith Empire's economic advantages. His eloquence and conviction were artful, a masterclass in persuasion. She allowed the silence to linger for a beat, giving the room time to absorb the weight of his words. From her seat, she noted the subtle shifts in posture, the flickers of doubt beginning to stir within the gathered elites. A seed planted, now ready for cultivation.

"Mr. Ma raises an excellent point," Loryn said, her voice steady but carrying the faintest edge of steel. "The Galactic Alliance claims to champion freedom and opportunity, but they strangle prosperity with their anti-corporate policies. Here, under Sith governance, you have the opportunity to thrive in a framework that rewards ingenuity and enterprise. And unlike the Alliance, we do not fear the success of our partners—we embrace it."

Her eyes shifted to the fair, round man who had voiced his doubts earlier. "You asked about protection," she continued, her tone softening into something almost maternal, yet with an undeniable authority beneath. "Let me be clear: the Sith Empire takes the security of its investments very seriously. The Guild's reconstruction initiative includes fortified trade routes patrolled by our forces. And while some ships are engaged elsewhere, I assure you our fleets are capable of safeguarding Susevfi's interests."

A small smile curled her lips, more calculating than warm. "And then there is the matter of piracy. Allow me to introduce Trayze Tesar." She gestured toward the Kiffar, whose worn yet formidable presence was a stark reminder of the Sith Empire's resolve. "Fleet-Captain Tesar is living proof of the lengths we will go to ensure stability. Every scar he wears is a testament to our commitment to this planet and to our partners."

She let her words hang as she pressed a button on the table, causing a holographic projection to shimmer into view. It displayed a proposed timeline for the planet's redevelopment: new spaceports, industrial hubs, and corporate campuses rising from the ashes of war. The visual was meticulous, a blend of pragmatism and ambition.

"What you see here is the future of Susevfi," Loryn continued, her voice soft yet commanding. "A future built not on vague promises, but on concrete investments and actionable plans. And I invite you all to be part of this transformation. The loans we offer are not just financial tools; they are partnerships. Together, we can create something extraordinary."

She allowed the room a moment of quiet to absorb her words, reading the subtle shifts in body language. Doubts were softening; the weight of ambition was pulling many of them closer. These people, despite their airs, were easy prey to promises of wealth and power. Loryn tapped a finger on the table for emphasis.

"We'll take a short recess," she announced, her voice smooth yet final, offering no room for debate. "I invite each of you to reflect on the opportunity before you. My aides are on hand to answer any remaining concerns or questions about the terms. We'll reconvene shortly to finalize the next steps."

Without waiting for acknowledgment, she stood, her polished black boots clicking softly against the floor as she exited the boardroom. Behind her, the attendees murmured, some exchanging cautious whispers while others maintained stoic exteriors. She beckoned for her two associates—Nanmen Ma and Trayze Tesar—to follow her into an adjoining chamber.

Once the door hissed shut, cutting off the hum of voices, Loryn's demeanor shifted entirely. The polished veneer of charm and benevolence melted away, leaving something far colder in its place. Her smile faded into a calculating smirk as she turned to her associates, the weight of her authority palpable.

"Fools," she muttered, her voice laced with contempt. "They think they're negotiating. That they have leverage. It's almost endearing." She crossed the room and tapped a sequence into a small datapad, dimming the chamber's lights and activating a private holomap of Susevfi.

"This plan isn't about their prosperity—it's about control," Loryn said, her tone sharp and deliberate. She pointed to several highlighted zones on the map, including the proposed industrial and corporate sectors. "Every credit we 'lend' is a noose. Those investment zones? A facade. The moment they overextend—and they will—we'll be there to acquire everything of value. The Guild will own this planet's future, down to its last credit."

Her eyes flicked to Trayze, the faintest hint of amusement curling her lips. "And if any of them get... ideas about resisting, well, that's where you come in. A reminder of the Sith's resolve should dissuade even the most ambitious of them."

She turned to Nanmen next. "Your charm and eloquence will continue to be our scalpel, cutting away their doubts until they believe they're the architects of this grand partnership. Let them think they're clever."

Leaning back against the table, Loryn folded her arms, her gaze hard and unrelenting. "Susevfi will rise again, yes—but as a monument to our dominance. The Guild's dominance. Nothing more. When we go back in there, we close the deal."

Straightening her posture, she adjusted her jacket, the polished veneer of diplomacy slipping back into place like a mask. With a glance to her associates, she gestured toward the map. "Questions?"

The conference room experienced a brief silence as each representative exchanged glances, fully aware of the veracity of the information regarding the Galactic Alliance. They also recognized that the Sith Empire was rife with treachery and internal conflict among its numerous fiefdoms, all under the indifferent rule of an emperor who was more corpse than man.

Nevertheless, Guildmaster Loryn Praji Loryn Praji was determined to address any objections or concerns with vigor in an attempt to persuade the delegates that the Sith would protect their investment from undue tithes and providing some assurances that the Sith Navy was fully able of managing any creditable piracy threats.

Did she have them hook line and sinker, Nanmen was not entirely sure as some of them were still likely to resist. He could perceive the intense fervor and avaricious ambition in their eyes, reminiscent of the behavior he had witnessed during his time at the Land & Sky Corporation.

The allure of wealth could easily eclipse fear, and the Sith would need to extinguish such a spirit to achieve their objectives. Though this would have to wait as the Guildmaster called a recess and gestured for both him and Trayze Tesar Trayze Tesar to leave the room in order to engage in a more private discussion about the conference.

"We must exercise caution when conducting such a high-level negotiation, Guildmaster Praji." He gently admonished her in a soft tone.

"While we possess an advantage through direct intimidation, particularly with Captain Tesar's presence, we must recognize that our counterparts are seasoned individuals in wealth accumulation. They have navigated the corporate hierarchy in a challenging landscape, constantly under the watchful eyes of megacorporations who could easily snatch them before we do." Nanmen continued.

Folding his arms within his flowing robes as he elaborated on the resilience of these local corporate entities. They have demonstrated an ability to not only survive but also prosper under the occupation of the Sith Empire, suggesting that they could likely retain a significant portion of their wealth even if the Guild started to absorb everything.
