The Galactic Empire?

I believe you must be a Major faction to command and not own larger, this I have not looked into yet, either.
The Starship Rules can be found on the Starship Template. They state:
  • That an individual character cannot own a starship of greater than 400 meters. Starships over 400 meters must be owned by a Faction. (major or minor)
  • Minor Faction PCs can captain a ship up to 1000 meters.
  • Major Faction PCs can captain a ship up to 3000 meters.
  • They also state that a corporation may own a fleet of limited size similar to their Tier.

What this means:
  • As a starting off Minor Faction, this group can provide it's members with usable ships up to 1000 meters.
  • Companies that join this group may offer their defense fleets as assets to the Faction.
  • If you're faction goes bust, you must go back to using 400 meter ships, join another faction, or form a company of substantial size to merit using larger vessels.

I know right. Just join any Major Faction, request Captain Rank, and immediately spend the rest of your days flying around the galaxy in a 3000 meter ship. It's pretty flipping sexy actually. And you can do it like, less than an hour. Lulz. So easy. So hot. :D

I hadn't studied the ship rules just yet since I haven't gotten to that part of my plans. I thought I was going to be stuck with making little strike cruisers until becoming major. I was going to have mass armies of fast, hard hitting, little ships hahaaaaahahahaha

It's even easier than that too. The Marketplace has mass-production starships just waiting for purchase. So rather than wait for a Factory Judge to critique 20 different vessels that you're not sure are even optimized for modern combat? You can just pop over, buy everything you need, and call it a day.

*pushes easy button*

Winning.

Dude, do you know the maximum limit of starships that a Major Faction can field during an engagement? It's unlimited. ...Yes. The maximum size in meters that a Major Faction can field in a single Invasion is = infinity.

We just cap it these days during the planning stages to make fleeting semi-fair. Lulz. :p

Here's another good one. The Republic currently lists as having 724 members. That's 724 PCs captaining ships at 3000 meters for a total PC engagment strength of 2,172,000 meters.

The radius of the earth is 6.3 million meters long.

Now In Character I may roleplay a facist, authoritarian, militaristic, opportunistic, benevolent dictator like character, but Out of Character I'm an easy going guy just looking to write fun stories and also read the stories of others.
Consider it a community plus.
Meh, yeah my faction has had a long road of ups and downs OOC. IC as well. I ended getting the FL dropped on my lap right as I left for a year long deployment overseas, but I was a little overwhelmed and had to focus on work work so I stepped down and after that its been a long string of reboots and crashes. We are still going though and that is purely cause the few of us left have a lot IC stuff dedicated to the story and we are still going, yay Red Dawn!

Yup as [member="Jay Scott Clark"] put it, once you go major there practically are no limitations on what you have.
Bear that in mind too [member="Xander Black"] if you piggy back on a major faction (currently One Sith and The First Order for Imperial types) you'll have much bigger technological advantages.

Sweet! I'll hit you up sometime to do a thread with Taeli since I'm guessing thats who you went through to make such a deal

The First Order is always looking for people, but we respect the other Imperial Factions out there as we all know how hard it is to get an Imperialistic faction to stick.

For those who do play Imperials we have several avenues that you can explore through the First Order, we are also open assisting other Imperial Factions.
