The Gathering [Invite Only, PM if Missed]

Kiren slowly opened his eyes and groaned 'It seem's that i fell unconscious on the way down…' he slowly got to his feet and stretched before taking the time to examine his surroundings, he was surrounded by nothingness.
'Were am i? Is this a dream?' He thought as he looked around 'There's only one way to find out…' he sighed before delivering a swift punch to his stomach. "Gah! Not a dream…" he groaned before he recovered and began walking.

'How am i suppose to get out of here then…' his surroundings had changed, he was surrounded by his…home, he was back on Makeb.
"How, Where?!" he gasped surprised "What's happen-" his jaw slid open.
It was his parents 'But h-h-how? They were murdered!' he thought shocked as his fathers view slowly met his.

"Ahh, your awake Kiren. Come here and sit with me and we'll read the news on the Holonet." his father smiled. Almost without thinking Kiren began walking towards his father, he slowly reached out a hand to pull out a chair before he gasped.
His hand was much smaller, he was 9 years old again. The realization hit him like a cold wave, 'How is this…' he thought.
"What are you waiting for Kiren, come on." his father urged him.
He quickly slid out the chair and sat next to his father with a smile, "That's a good boy, come on let's read." his father pulled out a Holopad and began reading the news to him while Kiren smiled.
'It's all better again…' he thought as his father read to him about the latest news.

It all shattered with a knock at there house door "Could you get that honey?" his mother called from somewhere else in the house "Sure thing." his father called back.
'No…' he realized what day this was.

Jack Rand

Captain of The Love Boat
Jack caught the lightsaber as [member="Sam Jhovna"] lightly tossed it to him and he was tempted to test it out, but he didn't want to seem childish. Jack smiled to her as he ignited a plasma torch to light the way

"Right, well I'll lead the way I suppose."

Jack took the first steps slowly, still a bit nervous about the cave. He didn't want to embarrass himself however, so he eventually went into a confidant stride and examined the walls for crystals.

"I'll tell you something love, this is the first time that I've ever been in a cave like this. Though I thought it would be... I don't know maybe shinier. Where are the crystals."

Jack continued alongside Sam walking through the cave, with every step echoing into the network of caves. He felt something tugging his mind, but he attempted to shove it behind other feelings and thoughts.

Clutching his newfound crystal, Gherron stared at it, turning it over in his hand. It was a bit larger than the one he'd first found, the one in his current lightsaber. Perhaps it would create a stronger blade. Food for thought. Slipping it in his pocket, he turned around and set off, back out the way he came. When he heard a yell, he started for a moment, then took off in the direction it had come from. Maybe he should've kept looking for that other Jedi... Turning a corner not too far from where he was, Gherron eventually found himself facing the knight he'd lost sight of earlier. She looked fine, but his yearning to protect others won over. "You alright?"

Jsc

Disney's Princess
Sam walked through the caverns with more of her senses tethered into the Force than upon where she actually was. Though, behind her helm it was impossible to tell. Every step she took was a stiff crunch and every echo of the caves was a welcome afterthought. There was something so wrong about these caves. Yet, something so, so right.

"This is the entry way corridor. And like any good strip mine, I doubt the treasure we seek lies at the forefront of our adventure."

The real answer was, well, Sam have no idea. Whilst Sam's writer had been into these caves upon times innumerable. She herself had not.

"The caves are not yet affecting my sight and vision. I sense no great apparitions upon me nor a desire for temptation. You however? ...I sense these caverns have taken notice of you [member="Jack Rand"] . You are no Jedi. Perhaps these old walls wonder why you have come."

No lore existed to predict what sort of reaction a Force Nexus might encumber upon a traveling sightseer. This was entirely new ground for the Order to tread. How the caves reacted was anybodies guess. Though, Sam did notice that it seemed aloof at best. It wasn't even affecting her at all yet.

"Hmm. Nothing. ...Perhaps we have a trek ahead of us indeed. I can only know for sure if we descend deeper."

Watching several Jedi enter the caves, Sabena stayed put for several seconds after posing her question. She looked to [member="Catherine Soja"] when she responded to Sabena. Yet soon, Catherine was off and quickly found a crystal. Sabena seemed a little disappointed at a prospective partner going off just like that.

Yet to Sabena, it became quickly apparent that most of the Jedi seeking a crystal wished to do so alone or with their Master or another senior Jedi. With no one voicing their willingness to stay together, Sabena resolved to enter the caves with the intent of going her own path as well.

Entering the caves, Sabena would have relatively less time than the rest of the Jedi in the cave - as she was one of the last to enter. The darkness of the cave made it difficult to see through visual means beyond a few meters. She heard a few of the Jedi further ahead while they were on their own search. The air was completely still - making the cave very quiet compared to the torrential environment of Ilum’s surface.

Slowly, Sabena traveled deeper into the caves. She maintained her pace in order to keep her eyes peeled for any sign of the crystal that was destined for her. She had read several accounts of Ilum’s crystal cave before her journey. One thing Sabena found fascinating was how the accounts said that each Jedi had a unique crystal that only they could find within the cave. Many said that other Jedi would have been unable to see it entirely while within the cave. Sabena wondered if this meant she was passing by scores of crystals that the Force kept hidden from her.

It seemed as if a wisp of wind grazed Sabena’s ears - making her hear a whistle. She stopped for a moment. She focused on the Force and what it would allow her to feel. She could sense something strange going on with the other Jedi within the cave. The apparent wind that Sabena felt carried their stories to Sabena - and she concluded that it was unlike what legend she had heard of the caves in Ilum. Sith apparitions. Everyone had their own tulpa. She knew the Force would test their minds, yet not in this manner.

However, Sabena believed that she was not experiencing these events like other Jedi. She pressed forward and eventually gave to a chamber that split the path she was on into three.

Turning around, Sabena looked back to see if any other Jedi, or [member="Jack Rand"], were following the same path as Sabena took.

When another Jedi turned the corner and asked if she was alright. Nef considered what had just happened.
"Fine? Yes. In fact, I feel as though I'm free from something that was holding me back. I found a very small crystal, though I'm not sure why it called out to me." Suddenly, Nef realized she hadn't introduced herself "I am Nefertari Sovint, how do you do?"

Smiling to himself, Gherron nodded. "I'm Gherron. First time in the caves?" He examined the crystal, noting it's small size. It was indeed a bit small to be a saber crystal, but that wouldn't necessarily stop the Jedi from using it as such. In fact, with the way crystals worked, it might in some way work to her advantage. She could even possibly use two crystals of that size in a single saber. There were dozens of possibilities.

"Sure, of course." Gherron motioned for the girl to go where she was being led. He would actually enjoy this, he figured. He was finding out more and more how fun it was to actually have people around. Traveling the galaxy alone was nice, as it allowed for peace and quiet. But actual contact with others did more for the soul than he could've ever thought.

[member="Nefertari Sovint"]

"Yeah, I have one. Feels pretty weird, giving off information when at one point I was only a padawan myself. But I enjoy it." He smiled at the other for a second as they walked. "I get the impression you're a knight too. Am I right?"

OOC: I am not sure if you are supposed to construct your saber with a Master's direction or on your own. Layna will do it on her own, but if I should involve Aralyn, please let me know. We could do a mulligan at that point.

Layna emerged from the side passage into the larger cave. Her heart raced with excitement as she walked to the middle. Now it was time to construct her lightsaber. The Twi'lek sat and crossed her legs.

Before Layna began, she drew in a calming breath. With a nod to herself, she unclipped the small pouch on her belt. Drawing it open, she drew out it's contents. A power cell, a pommel cap, a focusing lens and all the other components of a lightsaber.

She set all the components in order on the ground before her. In her hands, she kept her crystal. With that Layna filled herself with the Force. In her mind she repeated a mantra centuries old.

The crystal is the heart of fhe blade.
The heart is the crystal of the Jedi.
The Jedi is the crystal of the Force.
All are intertwined,
The crystal, the blade, the Jedi.
We are one.

The components rose from the cave floor and came apart. In her up-turned palms sat the aqua coloured crystal. She closed her eyes and the crystal rose and took it's place. Then the parts came together with a series of small clicks.

She opened her eyes as the lightsaber lowered into her hands. Wrapping her hands around the grip, she stood. Before she could ignite it, there was but one more thing to do. She filled the saber's power cell using the energy that flowed through her.

With that done, she looked at the completed lightsaber in her hands. The weapon was a minimal design in silver. It was 25 centimeters in length to better suit her smaller hands. It had a single red ignition button which she pressed.

The saber hummed to life for the first time in her hands. Layna smiled at the bright blue energy beam and raised it above her head. Looking up, she said aloud,

"With the Force as my guide, this lightsaber shall be a shield for those who cannot defend themselves!"

Layna whirled around, saber at the ready when she heard mocking laughter come from a side passage. Her eyes widened in disbelief as a huge shape emerged from the shadows. No, it WAS made of fhe shadows and over two meters high in the rough shape of a man. The only other thing she could see were eyes that glowed malevolent crimson.

"Will you," it said in a cold, dead voice "I do not think you can, Padawan."

It said the last word with a sneer. Layna answered in her own high, musical voice.

"What are you?"

"Your end !" it roared, now wielding a lightsaber-like shape in the same shadowy black.

The malevolant shade raced towards the Padawan and stuck with a powerful overhead slash. Layna raised her blade just in time to block. The shade was fast, and it was powerful as Layna had dropped to a knee under the weight of the blow....

"Indeed you are."

We came to a large part of the cave. The place was loaded with crystals of many different colors.
"Dang, I lost it..."
It wasn't that surprising, there were so many that even [member="Aaralyn Rekali"] might have trouble focusing in on a single influence.
Knowing she could be stuck there if she tried every crystal, Nefertari decided to meditate and see if any responded.
Ten minutes passed, snow began to fall.
after 5 more minutes, Nefertari's crystal to be spoke "Your head is full of designs, none of them frame me nicely." Nefertari wasn't sure if [member="Gherron Vael"] could hear it or not. It didn't matter though.
This sincerely perplexed Nefertari. what hilt design would suit this crystal? Was there a design she hadn't thought of?
Suddenly, she remembered her Mother telling her something about her family. It was as though she could feel the brush going through her hair again like when she was little.
"Remember Neffy, the Force runs through your family. Your third great uncle was even a Jedi Master. Follow a righteous path and you may also be great."

Her third great uncle...what had he been like? It must have been before the Clone Wars when he lived. As Nefertari pondered, a vision of the schematics opened.
"Hmm. Cylindrical hilt, power cells and circuitry bordering on insane...I like it..."

Gherron continued to walk with the other Jedi, when she stopped for a minute, complaining that she'd lost the trail. That didn't seem to stop her completely, however. He watched her, and he could almost see the gears turning over in her head. Though he didn't hear the voice, he imagined what she was going through. He was the same way. Before he'd even gotten his crystal, he'd spent weeks drawing up different designs of how his weapon was to be. Even then, he wasn't satisfied, and wound up taking it apart and redesigning it. He was a craftsman by nature, and everything he created had to be perfect. When the other Jedi began to describe her idea out loud, Gherron out the picture together in his own head, imagining what she was going for. Interesting design...

Silently watching her double that seemed like an evil twin from some bad story, Elizie took a deep breath, trying to clear her mind of all distractions as if it could help her past the test. Time stood still and the cold started kissing the young Adasca’s body once again. It was her who broke the silence after several more minutes passed, when she felt her mind to be ready for anything to come. Keeping her mind at peace, trusting in the Light Side of the Force and being mindful of the Jedi Code, the noble ensured she would not be tempted by the possible influence of the Dark Side gnawing at her mind.

“How should I prove that?” Elizie asked, breaking the silence, “If what you say is true and my faith is not true, I am fully aware that you are not real. You are nothing but a small piece of my consciousness taken by the Force and analysed for the purpose of the test. There is nothing you can say that could make me doubt the Jedi way.” The white-haired girl stated coolly, observing the apparition.

“If I am a part of your consciousness, then you know my words are true. There is no need for me to plant seeds of doubt into you; for it is already there. You know it. You just refuse to acknowledge it. Deep inside, you are scared of the conflict with the Sith. You want your old life back. Life of a Jedi is nowhere near as easy as your former life, is it? You have to accept what you are; by staying in denial and pretending to be a proper Jedi only makes you more susceptible to falling to the Dark Side. You have tried to bury your old self behind a wall made of Jedi Code and tenets, therefore the slightest crack into your precious wall will make it crumble with your former self set free. If what you tried to suppress for so long meets your weakened Jedi persona, falling to the Dark Side is inevitable.” Elizie’s fine-dressed double paused for a second, her eyes coldly staring at the real Arkanian as if judging the teen’s strength.

“Soon you will witness the horrors of war, whether you are ready or not. By participating in the battles to come, you will face death, Sith, Dark Side. Your Jedi friends, innocent civilians, Republic soldiers, Sith and their troops; you will see and feel them die without being able to do anything about it. Whether you live or draw your last breath alongside the others remains to be seen… but whether you fall or not is up to you and your actions.”

With no warning, the illusion reached out and dug her clawed finger into Elizie’s forehead. The young noble raised her hands in defense, but it was too late. The ice around them started to melt and crack and within a few seconds, the cavern collapsed and the two fell into an endless abyss of darkness.

Smack!

The Arkanian felt as something hit her in the face, hard enough it knocked out two of her teeth. With some difficulty, she slowly opened her eyes, only to be blinded by sharp light shining directly into her face. As her senses returned to her, she found herself surprisingly weak, sick even. As the noble tried to move, she noticed her hands and legs were tied to something, most likely a chair, as she was sitting.

“For the last time,” a rough and deep voice said, perhaps the deepest Elizie ever heard in her life, “Tell me everything you know about Jedi Shadows.”

Managing to open one of her eyes, the girl was able to make out two silhouettes standing in front of her. Nothing more, nothing less; the Force told her of the Dark Side being strong though, and growing stronger yet. While she could not see anything else in the room, a loud bark of a blaster rifle followed by the Dark Side getting more powerful told her of another death that happened somewhere around. Elizie understood nothing. One moment she sat in the caves on Ilum, the next moment she was here. This had to be a part of the test, this had to…

“Lady Adasca, please listen to the man. We only want to help you. Think about it. You give us enough information to destroy the Shadows and show your will to betray the Jedi, we will make a fine Sith out of you. Not only that. You will be allowed to keep Adascorp and finally taste the true power of the Force. It is a good deal, really.” Another voice said, a female voice like poisoned honey.

“This is not real…,” Elizie muttered, closing her eyes and trying to focus to get back to the real world. She focused on Ilum, trying to feel the cold around her body…. When a flash of red appeared and its tip sank into her belly with lightning speed. The noble wanted to scream, but couldn’t; it felt as if her insides exploded, sending waves of agony through her entire body. Gasping for air, Elizie desperately tried to stay focused, but found it impossible to do so. The pain radiating from the wound, the smell of burnt flesh, it was all too real to let her concentrate on anything. Not even the few lines of Jedi Code found their way to her mind.

There was no peace.

Considering the offer made her aware of the chance of living her life again. But could she really return to her old life after all this? Definitely, but would she be the same person she used to be? Absolutely not. Whether she was a true Jedi or not, the she has already been changed by living with them. The noble lived her life as a Jedi and would die as one.

“You are not getting anything from me,” she informed her captors, “I am a Jedi. I will not betray my brothers and sisters.” Another flash of red light, this time coming closer to her head and then… nothing.

The Arkanian’s milky white eyes snapped open, looking around. She was back in the caves. Her head swiftly turned downwards as she inspected the injury she had sustained in the vision. Much to her relief, she found no evidence of a lightsaber penetrating her skin. Letting out a heavy sigh, her attention turned towards the figure that still stood in front of her. “I understand now,” Elizie stated, “Following the Jedi way is not enough. You have to believe the purpose of your journey, be honest with yourself. Accept what you are and what you were, make peace with your past instead of trying to run away from it. I cannot change who I was, I have to accept it and work on bettering myself.”

The apparition vanished, leaving Elizie alone. It was then that she noticed a green crystal in place the illusion stood. Gently taking it into her palm and firmly grasping it in her hand, the Padawan recited the Jedi Code.

“There is no emotion, there is peace.
There is no ignorance, there is knowledge.
There is no passion, there is serenity.
There is no death, there is the Force.”

Rael stood up, walking over to it. He knew what it was, his crystals. Rael crouched down, and picked up the crystals. He smiled his crooked Kaleesh smile, and closed his hand. He stood up, looking back to the exit of the cavern. The Padawan walked to it, and exited the cavern. The Force guided him through the tunnels, back to where he knew he needed to be. Eventually, he found his way back to the main area. He looked around at some of the other Jedi. Rael felt calm. Calmer than he ever had in meditation. The Kaleesh looked down at his closed hand, and opened it. He stared at the two blue crystals inside of his palm. It was official. He truly was, a Jedi.

The crystal spoke again "Ooo! That design will be just fine. Come and get me."

Nefertari could see a glow coming from the ceiling. One last challenge to get her next crystal. It was easily ten meters up.
"There it is. Catch me if I fall." She said to [member="Gherron Vael"]
Nefertari began to wall jump using the force, trying to get up to the ceiling and the crystal embedded in there.

two meters up, eight to go.

Jack Rand

Captain of The Love Boat
Jack looked to [member="Sam Jhovna"], he never liked being noticed by anything without eyes. He looked around the cave, the feeling coming back strongly giving him a headache. "Yeah well, I hope it gets a look at my good side." Jack continued down the path looking at the sparkling gems that were deep inside of the cavern, outside of his reach.

Jack saw a glowing off in the distance down the path. "Hey Sam look, I found one." He gave her a smile as he ran towards it. Eventually his foot would not connect with any ground and he fell down a pit, giving a short scream.

He landed hard on his chest a few feet away down from where he had fallen, though his arm had been sprained and hung over another edge of the ledge towards an even further drop. "Hey Jedi, I think I found that descent you were looking for. I can't see the bottom though, so we might have a problem."

Jack attempted to reignite his plasma torch, but it had been destroyed in the fall. Jack shuffled backwards and leaned against the side of the cliff, holding his arm. He put the elbow in the coat arm to give it some leverage and ease the pain.

"I karked up my arm too, it's my damned playing hand."

Gherron watched the other Jedi leap upwards, a curious look on his face. He'd never expect to see someone grab a crystal from the ceiling, then again, that could be part of her own challenge. He remembered trying to craft his lightsaber as fast as he could, both for the challenge, and in fear of his life from whatever was coming after him. That left him to imagine that this, [member="Nefertari Sovint"]'s vaulting up for the crystal, was her own challenge to herself. Patiently waiting, he watched her movements so he could catch her if she did fall.
