- Brief Overview: Somewhere in the Tion Cluster members of The Fifth Wing were transporting an substantial sum of GCS (referred to by Imperial circles as 'Imperial Dactaries') that they were stealing from the Empire of the Lost when they were attacked by
Her who stole them instead. The consequences of the missing currency taken from the Empire of the Lost contributed to the disaster and subsequent economic collapse of the faction.
On March 10th, 2025, the Empire of the Lost were recalled and subsequently declassified from their major faction status to a minor faction thereby leading to it's in-character collapse. A report conducted by the Galactic High Society provided some explanation for the Empire being wiped out detailing it's inability to evolve and citing the expansionist policies adopted by the late Emperor Velran Kilran as a contributing factor to it's demise. While the report published by Liin Terallo holds accuracy in it's speculation and reasoning behind the demise of the Empire it does not cover the internal corruption instigated by a seditious, treasonous organisation that was founded within the Empire of the Lost known as The Fifth Wing who engineered an economic collapse of the faction in the aftermath of the Sartinaynian Crisis in 902 ABY which was regarded by those would later form the Imperial Sector Authority (the direct successor to the Empire) as the main contributing factor to it's demise.
At the beginning of the ninth-century, two years before the economic collapse which saw to the demise of the Empire of the Lost, a meeting between Alicia Drey and Vyllia Santhe saw to the reclaiming of lost wealth previously accumulated by Darth Ayra and passed onto Drey with the assistance of the Santhe family. This wealth later saw Drey, who had later been recruited into the ranks of the New Imperial Security Bureau (an internal and external security branch to the Empire's military), purchase land and assets across the planet Lothal while it was being annexed by the Empire of the Lost in 900 ABY. These purchases later led to the formation of Drey Incorporated and their acquisition of The Doonium Mines of Lothal which were then later sold to Aina Holdings and their takeover of mining operations on Lothal in exchange for an undisclosed fee of GCS that was paid into the accounts of Drey Incorporated.
Above Obredaan (on board the Ayrix) a meeting between Casteban Mecetti, Makai Dashiell and a representative of the Trade Federation of Planets was hosted by Alicia Drey to discuss the re-opening of Drey's Cortosis Mine and the distribution of shares that Drey was looking to sell. After negotiations a contract was signed by House Mecetti, Salacia Consolidated, and Mara Tibx and Fuels Inc which led to the mines being re-opened, operated by and used by each respective organisation. Another undisclosed fee of GCS that was paid into the accounts of Drey Incorporated following the sale negotiated by Alicia Drey to these respective entities.
On Stardate: 03162024 a secretive event was hosted on the moon Sojourn by Serj Sularis. Feelers were sent into the Galaxy to find attendees who may be interested in participating in a secret auction containing items of paraphernalia and technology to prospective buyers pertaining to a collection amassed by Darth Ayra who may be interested in acquiring the items put up for sale. After many requests were made to attend the first Convocation of Sojourn invitations were sent only to representatives of Helix Solutions, Aurora Industries, Arceneau Trade Company, House Mecetti Nationalized Industries and Trayze Tesar where some of Ayra's collection were sold to the attendees. A significant amount of GCS was raised by the auction and was subsequently later transferred into the accounts of Drey Incorporated.
Eight days before the auction that was later held during the Convocation of Sojourn a monorail was attacked on the planet Erilnar by Alicia Drey and the Initium. The train in question was transporting a vast sum of GCS across the planet. Using her credentials within the New Imperial Security Bureau as it's defacto Staff Director, Drey utilized an agent known only as, 'VRIVIA', and expats that would be later recruited into The Fifth Wing to find the train and where it was going so that it could then be robbed for all of it's credits. Using the aforementioned sales and acquisitions described on Lothal, Obredaan and later on from Sojourn the stolen credits were subsequently passed through the accounts of Drey Incorporated in a money laundering scheme designed to legitimize the stolen GCS taken on Erilnar.
On Stardate: 04082024, Alicia Drey sent an encrypted message to members of the Imperial Ruling Council formed by Velran Kilran to deliver a report about her activities in the Dark Empire and strategies that she was implementing as the head of the New Imperial Security Bureau. By this time The Fifth Wing had already been formed and had consequentially infiltrated the military branches of the Empire of the Lost and it's governmental infrastructure that was later used to create the conditions for it's economic collapse and subsequent fall as a galactic superpower.
During their transmission Drey requested an order of 70,000,000 million GCS and one million Calamari Flan be transferred into the accounts of Drey Incorporated. Instead Kilran awarded a grant of thirty-five billion GCS to be used in Drey's activities which was later used to solve supply issues in the agricultural market within the Empire of the Lost caused by the Trade Federation of Planets decision to place the Empire into a trade embargo following their letter. This vast sum of GCS and it's subsequent usage in stemming the economic fall-out (which was then later instigated by The Fifth Wing) caused by the trade embargo allowed Drey Incorporated to further obfuscate the stolen credits taken on Erilnar; the auction of paraphernalia, and technology sold on Sojourn; and the companies illicit activities in the Kessel sector, where Alicia Drey used the company to launder credits generated by the sale of Spice from the Spice Mines of Kessel.
By 902 ABY both the official, and illegal activities of Drey Incorporated had been used to in conjunction with the Direct Surveillance of Domestic Threats to fund, spread, and then obfuscate the influence of The Fifth Wing throughout the Empire of the Lost's military branches, and it's governmental structures that were key in governing the many star sectors, their systems, and the territories held within those regions of space that encompassed the entirety of the Empire. From these positions of power the seditious Fifth Wing were in prime position to engineer the eventual economic collapse that they caused to destroy the Empire of the Lost.
After the deaths of Alicia Drey and Velran Kilran a purge initiated by the Tsis'Kaar was followed to shift The Fifth Wing back to it's original goals to either reform, or destroy the Empire of the Lost after Drey had betrayed her co-conspirator in the Sith Order. The subsequent purge of all individuals considered too influenced, manipulated or loyal to the late Staff Director to the New Imperial Security Bureau delivered a massive blow to the Order of the Sith Lords and Her who had been secretly working with Drey and Kilran to manipulate the Emperor's enemies against each other via The Fifth Wing and the manufactured crisis's that it was set to make to keep Velran in control of the Empire of the Lost.
Born out of these events came the Sartinaynian Crisis: an attack upon the planet Bastion engineered by The Fifth Wing to bring The Diarchy and the Empire of the Lost into all-out war after they framed both sides into declaring acts of war. With the leadership of the Empire distracted by the crisis, and held by the subsequent battle that broke out between them and The Diarchy, the Fifth Wing initiated the second phase of OPERATION: POWDERKEG to destroy the Empire after the organisations attempts to reform or influence the Empire of the Lost into a state aligned to the Sith Order failed during it's two year reign.
In the immediate aftermath of the Battle of Bastion, key figures within the Empire aligned to the Fifth Wing ceased payment to it's military branches, and governmental agencies; stopped supply lines or trade of goods where possible across the multitude of star sectors, it's star systems and planets that made up the territory of the Empire of the Lost; and initiated lockdowns and curfews inside ecumenopolis', large cities, and other urban areas which led to revolts across the Empire. Meanwhile, the funds and services generated by Drey Incorporated (which were crucial in stemming the economic affects of the Trade Federation's embargo and sanctions) were set to be gathered and subsequently transferred to Sith space as one last act of sabotage.
