The House Call

Yetari Sellix

The Traveling Doctor
Yetari took a second and more prepared sip of his drink this time as Kana mentioned her work at spaceports doing deliveries, noting how she seemed to shift a bit after bringing up those-who-are-not-to-be-mentioned. No matter where she was the trauma of her childhood would continue to haunt her, and for someone so young to be cursed in such a way was almost heartbreaking for him. Unless she managed to let it go and move on, it would ruin the rest of her hopefully long life. At least it sounded like she didn't face much danger, but maybe that was what she needed to break the horrid spell.

"I will say this about my travels whether they ended up involving violence or not; they put things into perspective for me." the doctor looked into Kana's eyes, looking for the kindred spirit that dwelled within her, "After the horrible things that I've gone through seeing the pain that others suffer every day made me feel less alone in it, and trying to help at least some of them is the only thing that really gives me real purpose anymore. As of now the travelling helps me forget it all, and eventually I hope it will replace it for good, but at the very least it will let you see what else is going on out there. "

Yetari took another careful sip of his beverage, deciding that he was much more suited to lighter drinks after all, then glanced around at the other patrons. Hopefully he did not ruin her night bringing up the topic in such a serious way, but it was something that he genuinely believed could help her. The normally reserved doctor noticed some eyes looking their way, but ignored it as he turned back to Kana, gave the table a slight thump with his free hand, and grinned.

"But don't worry about it if you aren't keen on the idea. Let's just enjoy ourselves while we still can!"

"I am not sure how I'd be able to help anyone out there. All I got going for me is this whole 'repairing things' thing. That and keeping stock"

There was something about Yetari as he talked about the suffering of others. In a sense she could feel the pain behind his words. Maybe she was just imagining it, but it seemed real and if anything plausible. The scar which she had been afraid to ask about was suddenly a whole lot interesting. Her eyes wandered over and she found herself somewhat staring at it but out of respect she shut her mouth. The man's words had weight, to let the pain take over would be horrible and in a sense she already knew as such. The benefit of having to fake a smile all day for days at an end at the store was that in the end you could end up tricking even yourself that you were somewhat happy.

"I find that focusing on the good parts of life helps me with a lot." Kana eventually says as she grabs her glass with both hands. "The hard part is knowing what to think of and when. Usually when I handle the floor I think of small things like picking my first flower..."

Which you did two years ago. That's something kids do every day.

She takes another sip and slowly places the glass on the table again. The girl scratches her head and looks at the glass. She was about to break the rule.

"... But at the Qel-Rosh's mansion all I could think of was the day I realized I was truly free from them." She says lowly. "At the time I felt so happy, I felt free... But at the same time I had never felt more alone."

Great, you're rambling on about your problems. That's two rules broken. You're on a roll, why don't you just go ahead and tell him everything. Just open wide. Let it all out. You're not even through the first drink yet. Good going, no really, good freaking going.

"Funny, I usually tend to keep quiet. Bottle it all up, sometimes literally." She puts on the same old fake smile. "But not today it seems..."

Yetari Sellix

The Traveling Doctor
"I'm usually quiet in the same way Kana, but I guess when there is someone similar that we can talk to the floodgates are opened, so to speak." Yetari smiled back, but his was genuine and caring, "And to be honest I'm glad and you should be too since it's not everyday we get to open up like this instead of bottling it up as usual."

The poor girl was obviously hurting from what her parents put her through, and while he was hurt for his father's actions it was nowhere near on the same level. They neglected and abused her obviously, and it seemed like she never had anyone there to help her. Yetari 'enjoyed' another sip of his drink before putting a hand up to rub his scar, then turned his face to make her face it.

"This is the mark that symbolizes my past, and I bet you have one too. All of those scarred like us have one to remind us of our failures and pain, but you don't have to be alone if you find someone to express your feelings to every once in a while. I'm sure you don't need me to tell you all of this however, so whenever you feel like talking about it I want you to know I'm always open to listen. "

For some reason trying to help her feel better actually helped him as well, but the doctor also knew how hard it could be to confront these problems even with a friend. The only person that could truly help Kana in the end was herself, but if she was content to simply live with the pain then he had to respect that. This did help Yetari realize for himself though that things had to change for the better, and that his lost loved ones wouldn't want to see him drown in misery for the rest of his life.

"I'll keep that in mind... Friend." She felt awkward as a new and genuine smile grew on her lips. "Sorry, my Friendlish is a bit rusty."

Scars. Yeah she had one. She drummed her metal leg. This was the reason she truly took to electronics and repairing things. Malfunctions were costly and considering the quality of this thing they happened more frequently than never. Not that she actually fixed it all by herself. No, these things required precision and she certainly wasn't precise. But if you knew which parts to bypass in order to regain some basic control and stability then you could at least make your way to the doc without halting through town to get there.

"This thing." She says and knocks on her leg. "It's not as much of an emotional scar as much as a... I don't know. Let's just say cargo crates hurt."

Having that said she starts to pat the leg. Stroking it as was if it was still there.

"Crushed shinbones especially hurt like hell."

Yetari Sellix

The Traveling Doctor
It brought relief to the doctor's mind to see a better smile grace Kana's face and to hear her call him 'friend'. She was beginning to open up more to the idea of letting him in, and as she tapped on her leg she revealed another fact of her life that took Yetari by surprise. Her leg was artificial, and the mention of cargo crates and pain made it all too obvious what happened to it. There were many such accidents that happened to people all across the galaxy, but seeing them up close and personal always made him question the mercy of random fortune and the supposed force that bound them all together.

"I'm...so sorry Kana. And I can only assume your parents were not as caring as they should have been when it happened. They were truly monsters to let you suffer like that." Yetari tapped on his glass with a finger of the hand holding it, and moved up to his face with the other to trace his own scar with it, "Mine was not as physically painful as yours must have been, but it is just a symbol of the real suffering. You've been open with me, so it's only fair that I am open with you since we are friends now."

He let the next few moments be in silence, as he took another sip and then a long drink from the glass in his hand. Another few seconds...and then he cleared his throat before looking into her eyes and trying to keep himself composed.

"I got this during the attack on the Jedi temple, and when my mother, my wife, and my daughter all died there."

Oh man, what do I do? What do I do? Do I hug him? Do I... pat his back?

Faced with a situation she had never been in the guilt almost turns into panicking. Her eyes jitter as she looks at Yetari's scar. If she had been Yetari she'd have been pouring down the last of her drink and gone away to get a new one, or two. The thought seems good enough to her and she proceeds to do just that. Pouring down the last of her drink down she gives him an apologetic glance.

"I'm sorry, I-... It-..." Eyes still jitter, heart start beating faster than normal. Yep, that's panic. "Drinks! We need more drinks. Yep!"

Kana quickly excused herself as she got up from the booth in a hurry. It was time for round two, it must be. Judging by the guilt she felt it must be. She pats herself down and tucks the loose strands of hair back behind her ear as she places herself next to a man who seemed well-off enough. Usually the golden rule with these types was to be close enough to get his attention yet far away enough for it to not be creepy. It takes a few seconds for him to notice her and with a fake giggle and the batting of her eyelashes she decides to put on the innocent-somewhat-tipsy girl act. Even if the tipsy part wasn't really an act at all. He falls for it right quick and soon she finds herself with a new pair of drinks.

A few moments of distancing herself from the mess she had caused at the booth hadn't made her guilt go away at all. She she re-emerges from the crowd, hands Yetari his new drink and sits down in front of him. Letting a few moments of silence pass by she tries to think of something to say.

"I'm sorry, I just... I-..." He must think her a horrible person. "I thought I was better at situations like these."

She buries her head in shame and starts rubbing her temple.

"I really shouldn't have burst off like that, I'm sorry."

Yetari Sellix

The Traveling Doctor
He could see the emotion in Kana's eyes as she began to stumble for words before rushing off for more drinks, and sat there alone cursing at himself for bringing it up. It didn't really help either of them to force his personal issue onto her, especially since she had plenty of her own dark luggage to bear, and now that the doctor was alone it began to remind him of when he first lost them. The sense of loneliness coupled now with the fear that Kana would simply not come back gripped him as the image of his father popped into his head, and for a moment he felt as if all the pain was happening again. Yetari began breathing heavily as it was becoming too much to hold in...but relief washed over him when a familiar pretty face appeared and took her seat with new drinks in hand while apologizing.

"It's fine...really Kana. Don't worry about it." the healer cleared his throat and composed himself before smiling weakly, "I can't expect everyone to be comfortable with a topic so tragic, especially in a place where people want to forget them. It was...weak of me to bring it up."

Yetari took his new drink and was ready to ignore the taste this time as long as it did its job, closing his eyes for a moment before taking a long swig. If the good doctor had truly lost it and broke down as she came back it would have ruined his entire point before of healing and getting over it, making him hate himself a bit as he thought about it and tried to keep his face as devoid of emotion as possible. All the work he put in to seem strong was crashing down though at the thought of...his little girl. He thought he was at the point wher he could talk about it openly with a friend without losing it, but he was wrong.

"I'm sorry, but I a-actually should go." Yetari pushed his drink towards her and slowly stood up, throwing on the fake smile they both knew so well, "I have to catch the next s-ship out, but I hope we can talk soon friend!"

He began to walk away without waiting for her response fearing she would see the tears begin to come to his eyes, and quickly found himself running into the back of a large human and falling to the ground. The man turned to reveal an angry face, snarling as he looked down on Yetari and holding an empty glass.

"You made me spill my drink you idiot! I hope your worthless hide has the credits to buy me another one to replace this, and then a few more for wasting my time before I make your face look even worse!"

Yetari looked up at the hostile man with his own angry look, a mixture of self-hatred and resentment at this treatment, then responded to the man's hostility with his own by launching a punch directly at the drunk's face. As the attack collided and sent the man reeling back a bit, it was the final proof that while Yetari thought he was getting better all it took was a single switch to get flipped for it to go back to the familiar chaos. As usual this probably wouldn't end well for him as the physically imposing man recovered from the attack and cracked his knuckles, ready to return the favor.

He left, Kana. Your inability to handle a situation hurt his feelings. This is why you don't have real friends you double idiot.

Self-pity and self-hate; her greatest companions. As Yetari left the table she couldn't help feeling like it was all her fault. Actually, it was her fault. What kind of friend just leaves a friend like that? Especially in their time of need. He had been there for Kana and when he needed her back she left. Once again she grabs the drink with both her hands and leans over the table. Her hair got in her eyes yet she didn't do anything to fix that. Being uncomfortable was preferable when it came to finding ways to punish yourself.

As she sits up straight to take a sip of her drink she's interrupted by what sounds like the start of yet another typical bar-fight. With half a groan she pushes her drink aside. It clinks with Yetari's abandoned glass and she takes it as a start signal to go look. Why was it that people fought in bars of all places? Well, inside the bar anyway. She was quite well aware of why people fought each other in a cantina of all places. Still, she had never gotten into a fistfight and there were certainly several times when she probably should have. As she approached the scene her eyes opened wide. Was that Dr. Sellix and one of the dockworkers? DID HE JUST PUNCH SAID DOCKWORKER?

After glaring at the doctor for a second she quickly rushes in to intervene by placing herself in-between the two.

"NO! STOP FI-"

Pain followed by everything turning black. A few moments come to pass as she lie motionless on the floor. What had just happened? Why was her ears ringing? Her right eye hurt. Why did it hurt? She tried to open her eyes. Left eye, check. Right eye, uncheck. With a few gentle pokes at the side of her head she flinches as a bruise starts to take shape. Kana dizzily sits up and stares into the void.

"Ow."

Yetari Sellix

The Traveling Doctor
Their fight was not the most spectacular one, with the dockworker throwing punches that went wide and the doctor either constantly dodging or throwing a punch that even if it did land had little effect on the much larger and much more intoxicated opponent. He just had to get in a fight with a guy like this, didn't he? It was too late to take it all back now so his best bet was to either grab a weapon or run away. In his own emotional state however the fight was actually distracting, even though he was definitely about to be on the losing end, so it needed to continue for his own 'good'.

The sounds of the nearby patrons either cheering them on or demanding they stop meant little to him and could barely be heard, but as they continued one voice in particular cut through to his senses. It was a woman's voice, and in his partially drunk and very unstable state Yetari thought it sounded like...Tulia? He turned his head to look and saw Kana trying to interrupt the fight, but out of the corner of his eye he saw another drunken punch fly towards him. He ducked out of instinct, and sure enough...

"Ow."

"Kana!" Yetari quickly moved to kneel next to her, checking on her right eye as the idiot moved towards them to actually try and hit his real opponent this time, "Stop it you idiot! You might have really hurt her!"

That was enough to get the drunk dockworker thinking, and after a minute he fled the scene to escape whatever might happen. Yetari watched him run off then turned back to the injured girl he called a friend before running away from and moved to hold her head in his hands, turning her head to inspect the damage thoroughly. She was definitely going to develop at least a bruise on the eye, but hopefully that would be it, and it helped to pull him back into the present and forget about his losses. The doctor let go of her with one hand to pull out a small bacta salve from his satchel, then opened it with his mouth and used his free hand to apply the gel to her spot of injury. It smelled horrible, but it would fix up the damage eventually.

"Kana, are you alright? I'm so sorry that you took a hit for an idiot like me!"

"I'm... Good." Kana says as the ringing in her right ear drowns out almost everything else. "Just a little... Disoriented."

She wants to collapse back onto the floor but that would prove really stupid if not deadly. Instead opting to stand up straight she grabs hold of a nearby table and haggardly pulls herself up from the floor. The pulsing of her head says it was quite clearly a bad move but what is a little headache here and there? She had experienced worse during hangovers. Gently rubbing her forehead she feels like her head is about to explode.

"Judging by how my head feels, I need to be at work in about thirty minutes." She comments with a laugh and continues to rub her head. "My boss wasn't happy last time. Put me in the audio department for a whole day."

With what can be described as someone taking a lid off of her right ear she regains the hearing she had lost. The feeling causes her to shake her head, something she immediately regrets as the headache makes itself felt. She tenses up and clenches her fists.

"Okay. Yeah, I think I need to relax." She says and turns to Yetari. "Like, proper relax. Home-and-all-is-quiet relax."

She gives the man a pained smile as her right eye twitches from all the lights. Getting punched was a new experience. Not one she'd like to experience any time soon but a new experience nonetheless. Hopefully that bacta kicked in soon.

Yetari Sellix

The Traveling Doctor
Yetari sighed in relief, glad that for now at least she was alright...for the most part. Her smile was a bit haunting when combined with the twitching of her eye, but it was the same girl who enjoyed her own humor and he couldn't help but smile back. The bacta would help fix her right up by the next morning, but it still made him feel guilty that she had to deal with this in the first place.

"I'm so sorry that you had to take a hit because of my stupidity Kana, but you may be right. Let me help you get home so that I can actually do something good for once."

Yetari offered his arm for her to hold onto if she didn't feel up to walking without some support, but he expected that Kana would prove more than capable of doing so. She was able to survive this long without much help after all. The doctor still wanted to at least make the offer to show her that he did actually care though. This little fight didn't demonstrate anything besides his own weakness, but maybe he could at least prevent her from hating him.

"Yeah, thanks."

Kana puts her jacket on and wraps her arm around his shoulder. It felt good to have someone to lean on. Not that she was a stranger to leaning on people, there had been a few times it had lead to waking up next to people she would rather not talk about. In fact, there was not a single day that passed by without her cursing the insatiable lookout for a father figure, but something about the doctor felt safe. Maybe it was the fact that he was about as much of a wreck as she was?

"We should probably start with getting out of here." Kana says and points towards the door. "Door's over there."

She closes her eyes somewhat as the initial kick of the bacta sets in. Her bruise tickled like crazy and she resisted the urge to tickle back. Being lead outside she feels relieved as the temperature drops to a more tolerable level and she takes a deep breath. For all the cantina is worth the somewhat fresh air outside was still the best. She lets go of Yetari and looks at him.

"Thanks for the help." She says with a smile. "Next time try to pick a weaker target, please."

There was no point in being mad at the man. Getting mad and wanting to punch things was part of her coping mechanism as well. Difference being that she held it back, but not everyone can do that.

Yetari Sellix

The Traveling Doctor
"I don't know if there's a proper way to apologize for my stupidity back there Kana," Yetari didn't think he could with all the guilt, but a small smile soon appeared on his face, "but I guess picking the skinny guy at the cantina wouldn't be a bad idea."

He was still quite ashamed, for tricking both her and himself into thinking he had managed to fully put it all behind him. At least this time it was contained for most of the night, but how was Yetari going to help her heal if he couldn't do it himself. He told her that traveling around and finding a cause would help, but so far all he had done was the traveling. If he found some real direction, would it finally put an end to it all?

The doctor wrapped his own coat around himself before reaching into his satchel and pulling out another vial of the salve, then held it out to her. If he was going to make a mess of things at least he had the means to fix it...most of the time of course. Some things just couldn't be fixed for either of them with a bunch of bacta.

"Here's some more just in case that isn't enough to heal you. I'm sure all of the young men around here would be quite upset with me for damaging your pretty face." Yetari's smile grew a bit more, since Kana's ability to keep the mood light was almost infectious and was keeping him from ending up drunk and asleep in an alley, "Hopefully next time we go to a cantina I manage to be a proper adult and keep you safe. And of course the drinks will be on me."

"Pretty face, huh?" Kana raises an eyebrow and smirks as she grabs the doctor's gift. "Thank you... Doctor Sellix."

Carrying the vial in her hand she takes the lead as she makes her way down the street. That's when the realization kicks in. When they get to her door the evening will end and they will say goodbye. For the first time in ages she felt happy for real and fate just snatched that person away from her.

"Don't get this wrong, but I don't want the evening to end." She says and gives Yetari a worried glance. "You're the first person I truly... Opened up to and I just don't..."

She doesn't have the words to finish the sentence. This just wasn't fair. Why did he have to go? What if this was the last time she saw him?

"Now you're going to leave and..."

She sighs as each sentence proved really hard to finish. It just wasn't fair.

Yetari Sellix

The Traveling Doctor
It had been a rough night for the both of them, and as they walked back towards her home Kana opened up once more to show a young girl worried that she might lose her friend. Yetari thought about it and decided that he would find the goodbye difficult as well, but he was more than happy to bury these things inside. Burying the emotions and trying to never let them out was the main problem though...wasn't it? His friend sighed in what seemed like a mixture of frustration and desperation, and as they walked the doctor tried to think of what to say that would make it all better.

"Kana...you'll be fine while I'm gone, and I swear to you that I will come to visit whenever I can. You're the first person I've opened up to in a long time as well, so it would be crazy of me to just leave and forget you." He smiled, another of the rare real ones, "And besides, the next flight out to Fresia isn't until the morning I think and I don't really have a place to stay besides Elric's and that house is just gaudy. Maybe I could...just crash on your couch or floor?"

"If it makes you uncomfortable I understand and can definitely wake up my supposed friend to stay at his manor, but it would give us more time to talk if you want to. A friend is always up to listen."

He felt like a weird old man asking to stay the night at this young girl's place, but if Kana still wanted him around he would at least try to be a good friend.

"I don't know." Kana can't help but sigh again. "What if we're just delaying the inevitable?"

The idea of having him nearby was good but was it really necessary? A quick goodbye would be better than a slow one, less time for regret to kick in. Beside that she had no idea what they were supposed to discuss. Her limit had been reached, she had spilled way too many bottled up emotions already. The last thing they wanted now was a painful goodbye. She had to admit though, the idea of having a stranger, or anyone, stay at her place felt... Strange. That was her place, with her memories. No, she wasn't ready for people to see that yet, or was she?

"Wouldn't the Qel-Rosh have a nicer bed?" She asks cautiously as if not to hurt his feelings. Gaudy or not, the bed would without doubt be nicer than her little den of solitude. "I mean, the floor is out of the question. Nobody sleeps on the floor except those who are really unfortunate, and that ain't you."

Yetari Sellix

The Traveling Doctor
At the very least she seemed somewhat ready to let the goodbye happen, so Yetari had little to worry about there. Kana might be disappointed and might even feel a bit alone, but she was tough enough to keep going and smart enough to know that he wouldn't just ignore her like her parents and family did. He could tell she would do just fine for now without someone being her crutch, but was it too wrong to be worried?

"Seems like you're more ready than you thought to say goodbye. The creepy older man routine always works in situations like these." He smirked at his own little joke and stretched his arms and back, sighing in relief of so many things, "You also saved me from a bad back in the morning, and I bet they got special cooks over there for food so I'm glad we came to an understanding."

Yetari wanted to keep the mood light so as to distract her from what seemed to be a difficult farewell, but began to wonder if he would actually see her again. His travels took him far and wide across the galaxy, and what if someday the doctor finally managed to end up getting killed? Would Kana just shut down and refuse to take another risk in opening up to someone? Would she even actually care if he never came back? No matter what the outcome she needed some help, and as a doctor it was his job to try and do so.

"But in all seriousness...while I'm gone, I want you to find something that makes you want to live. The two of us have been running away from our pasts for long enough, but what I'm going to be doing wherever I go is find that reason to keep living and maybe someday be truly happy again. You're a tough kid, and you should do the same while you can."

Kana smiled at the mention of backache, he wasn't that old was he? Though for all jokes were worth when truly asking herself if she ready for goodbye she wasn't sure. Maybe she was. It would hurt, that much she knew, but a proper goodbye? No. As long as there was no crying involved it would all be good.

Eventually they approached her apartment building and the sinking feeling of their imminent goodbye kicked in. This was it, the three-step dance of Hello-Discussion-Goodbye was all coming to an end. It would be way too cliché to cry right now, even for her. As they approached their destination, her home, Yetari offered what would most likely be the last advice from him.

Kana nods quietly. A mournful smiles grows on her and she can practically feel her tear ducts fill up.

Hold it back, Kana. Hold it back!

But she can't. The raw surge of emotions as the doctor finishes his last sentence proves too much and she practically launches herself at him like a madwoman. Wrapped around him in a hug she burrows her face in his shoulder. The tears might have completely soaked through his coat but she didn't care. This man, the only one who she had opened up to, was about to leave and it just wasn't fair. There was nobody that had the same connection with her as this man. Nobody that understood her pain. Nobody that had managed to make her feel better about it.

"Thank you." She mutters into his shoulder. "Thank you..."

She had broken the cliché she did not want to break. A goodbye in tears made her no better than the average cliché-ridden, cliché-written, cliché-acted holovid and she let go of the man. As she wiped her cheeks she tries to lighten the mood.

"Well, that's one cliché out of the way." She continues the wiping of cheeks with a laugh. "When does it cut to the explosions?"

Yetari Sellix

The Traveling Doctor
He expected Kana to be possibly a bit emotional when they finally said goodbye, but the outpouring of emotion that came from her almost brought tears to his own eyes. The things she must have gone through for her to be like this...must have been on a level that Yetari just didn't fully comprehend. For that he began to find himself hating her parents, people he's never met, for having ruined her life so completely. The doctor held her for as long as Kana needed while she thanked him, and for the first time ever since Coruscant he felt like he did some good in the galaxy.

"I'm sure the explosions will go off once I start walking away, so you better watch out for it." Yetari grinned at her ability to always keep things in good humor, something that would bring some light to a place that was always getting darker, "Now I'll see you again someday, so don't you worry about that. And make sure that there are a few cold ones around when I do come back, so that we have something to drink while he tell each other how things have improved."

With that Yetari gave one last smile and a wave before turning and walking away, glad that she wouldn't see the few tears of joy that escaped and fell down his own face. Now was the time for them to do some self-exploration and figure out their lives, so that next time they met it would be better for both of them. As he thought on this the doctor stopped after getting a good distance away, turned, and gave one more wave goodbye before disappearing into the night streets. He wouldn't be going to the house of nobility to stay, instead deciding to just walk the streets and think before heading off to another adventure. Still though, there was a thought lingering in his head with words that his father would have probably given if he was here to talk to her instead.

Good luck Kana, and may the force be with you.

"Oh I will." Kana says with a smile as the doctor leaves. "Remember not to punch the big guys next time! "

And with that she waved her friend off like a sailor sailing off to war. It takes a few minutes for her to calm down as the man passes around the corner. She stops waving like an idiot and lets her arm fall and dangle at her side. He was right, the time of wallowing in self-pity was over. Letting the darkness of days past consume you would lead to nothing but more pain and suffering. She knew it'd be hard but she had to find a way. The thought was horrible enough, to be so consumed by your own self-hatred and self-pity that you took it out on others? No, it had to end at some point.

Unlocking her front door and stepping into her dust-ridden apartment she can't seem to wipe the smile off of her face. The moonlight illuminated the studio apartment as she approached her couch. Gently letting her fingers run along the top of the cushions as she passes by. This is where the doctor would have been sleeping if their goodbye hadn't gone as expected. As she collapses onto the couch she takes a look around the room. It's all very bare. There had been very little chance at decorating between her frequenting at the cantina and work. Honestly, there was no attachment to anything in this place. Nothing except the datapad on her coffee table.

She picks it up. This datapad contained it all, her own notes on the abuse and stress she had to put up with while growing up. She had no idea why she kept doing it, why she wrote it all down on a pad like that. Nobody would read it anyway but for some reason it had felt like something she had to do even if it meant a continued effort at torturing herself. She had to put an end to it, but how? Giving it some thought she realize that it wasn't a question with a definite answer, but rather one that will be more clear over time.

"I should consider taking a break some time and just travel around the galaxy... Just to see what's out there." She whispered to herself as she lie down on the sofa. She closed her eyes and promptly fell asleep.

It had been one hell of a House Call.
