The Forgotten
A week later...
Minna sat by the hospital computer terminal after spending a considerable amount of time ensuring she could get an encrypted connection. Once she could, her robotic hand extended to the keyboard. She looked at it for a moment, letting out a small sigh. Soon she'd have something much better, and not just for one arm. Until then though, there was work to do. She had to lay the foundations for the future, which started with planting a seed.
On her encrypted connection, Minna dug up her old contacts. With some searching she found a way to get a message directly to Ajihad, secure and safe.
Dear Ajihad,
Tell your master the Red Jewel is sharper than ever, and it's coming.
-Six
Signing the fake name she had told him would ensure he knew who she was, and the Red Jewel would make sure Ferus knew who he was talking about. It wasn't a common nickname for her, only really herself and Ferus acknowledged it. She never rose high enough to be commonly known by a title.
After double checking that only Ferus knew it was truly her, and that the connection was as secure as it could be, she sent the message.
Leaning back on her chair, she stared at her shoddy cybernetic hand. Soon she would be sharper than ever...
Technology would make her strong again...
