The Interview [Tmoxin]

The soft patter of rain was drowned owned by the crashing of the waves beneath Tipoca City of Kamino. It was nothing new for this world, but it was new for Keegan. He had never been to a planet covered in surface water before. Not that he didn't want to. He just had no need to. But today was different.

He was invited.

A lone freighter descended from the sky onto a landing pad. As the ship powered down, a Kaminoan accompanied by two clone troopers walked up to the landing pad in order to greet the mercenary. The ramp of the freighter opened up, revealing Keegan at the top of the ramp. He was wearing a suit of duraplast armor with a cloak, hood up on his head to block out the rain. "Welcome to Kamino, Mr. Bryx. Lady Temi is expecting you." the Kaminoan said.

"I ain't late am I? Oh and, please, call me Keegan. Ain't no need for formalities with a mercenary." he replied. He had someone of a 'city boy' accent.

"Very well, Keegan. No you are not late. First mercenary I've seen that's truly punctual. Follow me and I shall take you to Lady Temi." The Kaminoan turned and began walking towards the city. Keegan followed close behind her, but he did not take his eye off the clones.

Lately, Tmoxin’s office on Kamino resembled a busy Coruscant spaceport. So may clients in and out - she had been entertaining and deal-making non-stop, and while she enjoyed the frantic pace, she was still generally unhappy to be stationed on Kamino. However, moving her office location would take time, and at this moment, time was a luxury she could not afford.

Rainy views it would have to be for the indeterminate future.

“Mr. Bryx, has arrived,” said her assistant Beulah through her intercom.

“Good. Send him up when he reaches Morpho.”

[member="Keegan Bryx"] was a bright upstart in the world of mercenaries-for-hire. Tmoxin needed one to hire after her old mercenary disappeared. She had called him The Black Moth and controlled him through mind control drugs, but only because he had been a bit feisty and resistant to her authority. Hopefully, Mr. Bryx will not need to be similarly controlled, the Hapan executive mused. She would grill him on his loyalty soon enough.

When Bryx finally showed up in front of Morpho Pharmaceuticals, he would see a large, domed building, like all of the structures on Kamino, with a minimally designed logo and a gleaming white exterior. Tmoxin's office was in sector seven - the seventh floor.

Keegan approached a large building with a logo. "Morpho Pharmaceuticals? What is this? I ain't looking to be a bodyguard for some damn cough drops." Keegan barked. It is true. He had expected to do some real mercenary work. He wanted to fight. Not sit back and keep an eye on someone's shiny things.

"I assure you, Keegan. This is not that. Lady Temi has the kind of work you are looking for." the Kaminoan replied. "Please do enter. Lady Temi is waiting." Keegan scoffed and complied. He walked past the sliding entrance to the building and up to the service desk. "Keegan Bryx here to see Lady Temi. She's expectin' me." He removed his hood from his head to show his face so that they knew it was truly him.

"Seventh floor, Mr. Bryx." the secretary replied.

"Appreciate it. It's Keegan by the way. Just Keegan." he said before walking towards the elevator. He pressed his finger against the button to summon the elevator. He briefly looked back at the service desk where the secretary was writing down a few things.

Ding.

The elevator doors slid open and Keegan stepped right in. "This is one big ass building. Which floor was it...Uh. Bup bup bup bup buuup...ah. 7. That's right." Kegan pressed the button marked 7 and as the button lit up, the elevator shut it's doors. The elevator whooshed up the shafter rather swiftly and stopped softly at level 7. The doors then opened, revealing Keegan to Lady Temi. He stepped off and walked towards her desk. "Well, hello Miss Temi. You certainly are a looker. Keegan Bryx, at your service." He bowed before her before taking a seat.

Tmoxin raised her eyebrows as Keegan entered her office. Beulah, her assistant, must be on a stimcaf break because somehow the mercenary managed to waltz right now. Perhaps she needed to re-evaluate her security procedures. In either case, she motioned to a chair opposite her desk and said, "Please have a seat." She gave him a forced smile at the compliment, but otherwise, ignored it.

"You come highly recommended by some of my associates. Who they are is irrelevant," she said. "But I will get right down to it. Kamino as you know is deep in the heart of Techno Union territory. However, there are some fringes of Techno Union space which are vulnerable. In some cases, our Security Defense Forces moved into crime-filled planets vacated by the Red Ravens which left a vaccuum, to be filled by debt, crime and instability. Yet there are situations where, for lack of a better word, the Union was perhaps too aggressive in its occuption. Naboo comes to mind."

Her brown eyes lifted to meet his hazel ones. "Our borders are fragile, Mr. Bryx. This is where I could use your help." Tmoxin shuffled a few flimsiplasts in front of her hoping his dossier was in there, but it wasnt. Questions were in order then.

"Your accent is difficult to place. Where are you from originally?" she asked.

Keegan had gotten comfortable as she was speaking. He was sitting like any man would be: legs pretty wide apart and hands behind his head, fingers interlocked. "Glad to hear I got me a reputation already." His ego was reaching over 9000 at this point, but he hid it well. AT least, he thought he did.

As he listened to her, all he could think about is what she had going on under her clothes. Thoughts ran through his head, but he quickly returned to reality once she mentioned the Red Ravens. He had no love for those criminals. Just like the Black Suns, they fell short. But, he wish he had a hand in their downfall. "Monastery, originally. But I was raised on Fondor. And, please, call me Keegan." He flashed a dashing smile before continuing. "You just point were you need me, miss, and I'll get done what you need done."

As Mr. Brix made himself quite at home in her office chair, lounging as though he were at home and not at a wealthy executive's office, one well-groomed eyebrow raised in a mix of surprise and mild amusement.

"Fondor, eh? I can't say I've ever been to that planet, but their shipbuilding is superior." She narrowed her eyes at him, examining him. She wasn't irritated. But the Hapan was curious.

"Just how old are you anyway?" Keegan Brix had a boyish quality, but she couldn't place his age. He could be eighteen or he could be thirty-one like she was. He had a youthful quality, unlike some of the ragged, weather-beaten mercenaries she had worked with in the past.

"And where I need you is most likely near Nar Shaddaa if not on the planet itself. Keegan, what do you know of the Hutt Cartel?"

This was most certainly a test to see how much of the galaxy this mercenary had been exposed to.

"Getting personal, ain't we?" He flashed a smile. "Well, I'm 23. I'd ask you but it's not polite to ask a woman such things. 'specially a beauty such as you." He took a moment and looked around her establishment. Just by the look of everything, all clean and whatnot, he knew he'd be paid well.

"I know they're a bunch of crooks that no one has the guts to put down. They givin' you trouble?" His eyebrow perked as he asked this.

Mr. Brix wasn't completely a pup, but she admired his youthful drive just the same. "I just like to get to know my associates," Tmoxin said with a chuckle. "But you are correct in that my age is of no importance." Truthfully, it wasn't a sticking point with the red-haired Hapan executive since Morpho Pharmaceuticals owned the bio-technology to reverse a sentient being's age. The Dark Jedi could become immortal if she so desired. But the side effects of the treatment were harsh and unforgiving. She couldn't be out of commission that long if somehow her body suffered a mutation, or she grew ill from the age-reversal cells.

"No, but the Hutts will be coming closer to Techno Union space. I may need you to keep an eye on them. They are not our friends, but they are also not our enemies. However, Mr. Bryx... Keegan, I have an assignment of a different nature for you. A company that I have ties with needs Phrik. Do you know where to obtain it?"

Again she was testing him. Tmoxin knew exactly where to get Phrik, and to what lengths it was protected by various mines across the galaxy. If he didn't pass the quiz, it was no matter. She would supply him with what he needed if he was inclined to accept the operation.

"Depends on what you mean by obtain, Miss Temi." Keegan leaned forward, pressing his elbows onto his knees and grinned. "I know of a few places, yeah. Seltos is one. Demonsgate too. But, I'm not sure about the situation there after the Moross had their hands on the planet. You lookin' to get your hands on some of the stuff? What do you need with it? If you don't mind me asking."
