LOCATION: Makeing her way thru the station
OBJECTIVE: Disable the defences
***
Xi got out of the turbolift. Checking the floor-plan on this level, she determind that the shild generator room vas less then 100 meters away.
But... the coridor vas eerily kuiet. No troops. She culdnt sense a single patrol. Makeing her way to the end of the coridor, she streched out vith the Force... asyde from a few techs insyde, she culdnt sense anione else.
"Weird..." she thoght. It didnt make much sense to her that such a critical sistem wuld be left basicly un-guarded by the Chiss. She didnt like it, tho. It smeled too much like a trap, for her taste. So she decided not to enter thru the main entrance. She back-tracked, and found a maintenance shaft paraleling the coridor. Crawling thru it, she maked her way to the grate high up on the wall of the shild generator chamber. She peeked outsyde...
A shild emitter, 4 conzoles on the pillars, and 4 Chiss techs vorking them. Nothing else. No guards, no troops, nothing. Xi frowned.
"Vhats vrong with this picture, huh... ?" she thoght incredulusly. Eiter the Chiss realy wer that stupid, or... it vas a very, very, VERY good trap. But she culdnt sense anithing. No dangers. Nothing but vhat she culd see vith her own eyes.
But there vas only one way to find out. Carefuly taking-of the grate, she sliped in, and down the wall, in-to a crouch, not makeing a sound. And then... her sense started tingling. A red sheen of a laser-emiter, just above the grate, vhere she culdnt see it, until she vent thru... her eyes widened. The tiny beam stoped glowing, as she pased thru it.
"A ALARM EMITER! Stupid, stupid, STUPID... you realy are a stupid queen, Xi!" she thoght viciusly to her-self. A amateur wuldnt fall for this... grr.
There vas no other warning. None. Exept sudenly, a quartet of ceiling-panels retrakted, and 4 turets poped out, sighted in on her, and started spraying blaster fire down. Xi sudenly became a flury of motion... running, ducking, jumping, trying to keep the pillars betwen her-self and the turrets. The Chiss techs wer panicking, and 2 of them ran rigt in-to the blaster fire, vhile the other 2 cowered by the pillars. Xi didnt have time to do anithing about them, she vas to busy holding-on to her life. Her blades out, she ran up one of the pillars, re-bounded to another, using the Force, vhich got her close enogh to slice one of the turrets of. A blast from one of the other turrets singed her back, another vhized by her ear.
"Blast it thoze things can shoot good..." Xi scowled, droping back down. Now that she had 1 korner of the chamber un-covered by a turret, she culd take cover behind that pillar. She picked-out one of the Ion grenades, set it to 1 second delay, and tosed it up-ward, tovard one of the other turrets. A cracking ion dis-charge ensued, and that tured sudenly vent limp, and de-powered. Repeating the proces, she picked out another Ion grenade, and taken out the 3rd turret.
But just as she vas preping her last Ion grenade, to do the same vith the last turret... the Force sudenly flared vith danger from behind. She spined around... as a electro-staff head bashed her in the sholder, leting out a surge of elektricity in-to her body. Her grenade vent flying out of her hand, no-where near the last turret.
Above her, a intrikately armored Chiss fighter stood, raizing his elektrostaff for a finishing move. He vas clad in some kind of exotic armor, and his body langage told Xi imediatly, that this vas no regular trooper. This vas a trained warrior.
She snarled, scizoring her legs out, konekting vith his knees, and throwing him off-balance, before the staff culd land on her head. Then she kicked them both up-ward, at his chin. The man vent stumbling a few steps back, but he stayed on his feet, and stayed concius, shruging it of. Trained, and conditioned. But it did give Xi space to kip to her feet.
Another elektrostaff came from the side. Xi parryed it vith her blades, as a second Elite guard flanked her. He folowed-thru vith a side-kick to her chest, sending her flying backvard, in the center of the room.... in the line of fire of the last turret. Xi franticly fliped-up, drawing on the Force, as a burst of blaster shots landed vhere she just layed.
"Nice trick..." she thoght, as the two Chiss warriors rushed after her. Her face spread in-to a fierce grin, in spyte of some dull pain in her chest. Finaly, a challenge!
The first warrior bringed his staff in a stab to her gut, vhich she batted asyde vith one of her blades, pivoting, to catch the other staff in a parry. The second warriors leg come-up agen, to her flank, but this time she twisted, side-sliping it, and snaped her right elbow up to his mouth. She culd feel a pair of teeth give way. The man didnt so much as moan, his eyes staying fokused, his bloody expresion stil blank. The first one's staff come up under her chin, sending her back down to the ground, as the second warrior tryed to ground-stab her.
She roled-away out of reflex, the blaster fire tracking her... one of them folowed, then had to abruptly stop, as one of the shots almost hit him. That gave Xi room to kip up agen. The second warrior rushed-in, his staff spining ahead of him, in a hand-over-hand kata, imposible to block. She didnt try, she leaped over his charge, trying for a slash at the top of his head, but he ducked. Xi landed behind his back, but before she culd take advantage of thart, the other one's knee vas up in her gut.
Core muscles clinchd. Half her breth escaped her, but she remained standing, as the man tryed to folow-thru vith a chop to her neck vith the staff. Xi blocked it vith her forearm, leting some elektricity flow thru her agen, but rezisting it, as her own knee vent up the man's crotch. That provoked a groan, but he stayed up, only stumbling a step back. Xi puled away, catching her breth, and shifting her stance, as the two warriors squared-of vith her. She vas careful to keep the pillars betwen her and the last turret.
3 sets of eyes met. Xi's orange ones, vith the expresionles red ones of the Chiss warriors. They wer evaluating each-other. Xi curled her hand, inviting them to attack. They didnt. They wer content just to delay her. Smart.
"I dont have time for this..." she thoght, rushing-in at them. One man tryed a side-kick at her sternum as she did, but she anticipated that, stoping short, and bringing one of her blades down, on his out-streched leg. He tryed to pull back, but the kick's momentum vorked agenst that. The blade sliced thru his toe. His face twisted in pain, but he let out no sound. How-ever, that leg of his vas now useles, and she culd see him starting to heavyli favor his other one. That wuld limit his mobility. The other one tryed to inter-cede, but Xi wuld not be disuaded. She side-steped the other one's attack, determined to finish-of the wounded prey first.
"Go for the weakest link..." she remynded her-self. Reduce the number of enemys.
The limping warrior spined around, tracking her, as Xi's twin blades come down high on his head. He easyli blocked them vith his staff, but that leaved him open to a kick to the gut. Vith only one good leg, his balance vas poodoo, and he vent flying to his back, un-able to keep his footing after the kick. Desperatly, he maked a low-slash at Xi's legs, but the woman vas too fast, hopping over it, and pinning his staff hand under her foot.
His face only turned sligtly suprised, as she stabed a blade thru his throat. One down... one to go. And the turret.
The remaining Chiss warrior re-doubled his atacks, now that his compatriot vas dead. And his face vas no longer blank. A voice-less snarl on it. Eyes narrowed. He vas out for blood now. He rushed in vith the on-slaugt to match, vith a brutal swipe at Xi's mid-sektion. Not subtle, not finesse, but VERY powerful. Xi had to use both swords to block it, and even so, it jarred her wrists.
"Looks like i pissed him of..." she thoght, a smirk on her face. Goading him even harder.
She back-pedaled, ducking and parrying a few more brutal swings, as the man advanced, seemingly kornering her agenst the wall. A roundhouse konekted to her ribs, powerful enogh to make it seem like a volcano erupted in her chest. He vas giving it all out. Xi stumbled to one side, her face twisted in pain. She droped her guard, droping one of her swords, the other going down, near the ground.
The Chiss's face turned to a triumfant, savage grin, as he bringed his staff down on her head... but it vas a trick. Xi droped her guard deliberatly, pretending to be hurt and exausted. Just as his staff vas about to cleave her head in half, she jerked asyde, leting it pass her by, hiting the floor. She vas insyde his guard now.
Bringing her forearm down on the insyde of his elbow, in a hard chop, she culd feel the satisfying *crak* of his broked elbow. He tryed to pull away, but she shifed her grip on the staff, keeping him there, as she headbutted him in the left eye. Once.... twice... thrice... on the 4th headbutt, she culd feel his eye-socket give way. Blood pored down his face, as he stagered, blinking hard, vith a moan.
"Aaagh..." the Chiss groaned, desperatly leting go of the staff, and swinging his good arm in a hook to her chin. It did konekt, snaping Xi's head part-way around, but she vasnt even dazed, her iron chin abzorbing the punch.
"Not bad... but not good enogh." she growled, headbuting him agen for the last time, then shoving him away, finaly creating room for her blade to sweep up... up and under his chin, slicing his head in half, verticaly.
She heaved there, agenst the wall, for a moment.... spiting out blood, wipeing her face, catching her breth. That vas a good fight. Her ribs ached. Her gut throbed.
"Been a vhile since i vas tested like this..." she thoght, vith a private smile.
Stil that 1 turret left to deal vith, but it vas no problem. Using the pillars as cover, she aproached it from the blind-spot. By the time it swiveled around, she jumped up and sliced it of.
Then she puled out her com-link:
" [member="Darth Necrin"], this is Xi Rel. I'm at the shild generator, about to set charges. The shilds wil be down in a minute or so. Get ready to attack the station. Just... do me a favor, and dont blow it up vhile I'm stil on it!"
Vith that, she started seting the shaped charges, at the generator's casing. Once done, she synced them to 30 seconds, then rushed out of the room, starting to make her way back to the hangar, and her ship. Behynd her, a masive detonation vent off.
